Amazing Amazing AMAZING!! You need to come hereee!! great food, great service the place is nice too

I came in for a chicken Caesar wrap which was highly recommended. The service was great as the young lady that rang me up was attentive however my entire order was wrong despite repeating it twice. The flavor was just ok. I was disappointed I spent 16 bucks on a wrap only for it to be made incorrectly. Nothing I asked for was on it. The restaurant is clean, no issues there. I'm unsure if I'll return or not. read more

These reviews baffle me. Ordered for pickup around mid day, food wasn't ready at pick up time, the person inside repeatedly badgered us for an additional tip, in cash, since the online tips were taken by management. It was incredibly uncomfortable and even after apologizing for the situation and explaining we had no money with us for a second tip she would not let it go. When we finally got our food it was... not good. One order was just acceptable, the other, downright bad. We both agreed- never again. read more

Quite stellar customer service. The space was clean and inviting. Food came up really quickly for takeout and was presented very nicely. Burger top notch quality. Perfect presentation. The chicken over rice platter was incredibly overpriced. The rice was hard, the chicken wasn't seasoned or tender the way these platters are meant to be, and there was two drops of white sauce. Didn't even offer hot sauce. read more

Well, I could've taken a picture but it just disappeared so fast on me lol. My sister had been raving about this lamb souvlaki wrap while we were out last night--had me thinking about it when I woke up today so I was determined to have it for lunch. I took her with me. First of all they're one of the few folks who still make and offer handcut fries. That's a major score! Aside from that, it was EVERYTHING my sister said it was. The lamb had clearly been marinated. Fresh ingredients, polite service, plenty seating options, not too loud inside or out--i'll be back for sure. read more

The food identifies as diner food even if they are trying to be a cafe/grille. And it's pretty good diner food; American, Greek, Italian and Peruvian are all on the menu. My personal fav is the spinach pie platter. I think if they leaned into the diner persona, people wouldn't be as confused by 1224's identity crisis. But a good amount of regulars are coming in and out whenever I'm here, so they've figured it out. It's good, it's quick and it's served with a smile. Platters are a great deal, lots of food! But I agree that the individual items are kinda pricy. read more

Not bad. I always go for the Peruvian grilled chicken with sauces. Comes with two generous sides. They have a lot of other stuff including a few beers. A University of Baltimore fav spot. Nice lady at counter too making counter service great read more

I went to use the bathroom before placing my order like I do every week when I come here. The line cook was on his break and told me I can't use the bathroom. I told him to leave me alone I'm using the bathroom before I order. So I just leave. So he follows me outside and tells me to go fuck myself and then tries to follow me to fight me. Like he literally followed me outside to try to fight me. I will never come here again. read more

Very bad. We ordered here for our Saturday night menu. The Charles St. Baguette turkey sandwich was on small, stale sliced white bread, not a baguette, with very little ingredients. It was offensive that they would try to send that instead. How someone can mess up a turkey sandwich is beyond me. The Peruvian Chicken Wrap had no sauce (it was supposed to be hot spicy), but the chicken and rice in it were good. The Charm City Panini was very embarrassing, also on stale white sliced bread with 2 small pieces of unseasoned chicken. All these sandwiches were over $11, and I was not recompensated. read more

Poorer customer service than before. Despite me leaving an above average review over a year ago on Yelp for this business highlighting the positives, management reached out on Google review to critique MY EXPERIENCE from today w many words not including an apology. Kudos to the young lady that initially assisted me and empathized w me when things weren't up to par. She apologized. The issue... Menu was extremely limited due to issues that were beyond the business's control. If a business wants to remain open throughout a minor crisis, they cannot impose on customers... PERIOD. Customer service should be a larger accommodation due to inconvenience. My initial order was Shrimp on a bed a lettuce. I was given a Shrimp Salad Sandwich on lettuce minus bread. I didn't know this weird meal existed. I refused and switched to old mediocre faithful. 1/4 dark meal. There was a $3 price differential that they were unable to offer back in cash or credit. I was offered a cookie or watermelon (not ripe). No & Nope. I requested a side Salad. I always get a side garden/ Caesar salad w meals (see previous visit pics). I had to go toe to toe to get a side salad that I was eventually given but wasn't made fresh and was taken from under the shrimp salad I refused previously. There was so much mayo within lettuce that it flung on my cardigan while I tossed it. NOT COOL! Mayonnaise drenched throughout my lettuce forcing me to trash it. I will not die if I have dairy but large amounts make me ill. I was gonna let it fly but apparently management couldn't. I look forward to no longer wasting time, gas, meter money and brain cells on a restaurant that doesn't practice good customer service. read more

The Peruvian chicken (pollo a la brasa) is fantastic. Recommended with beans and, available, the string beans.

I went the other night to get take out. My experience was really good. The place is clean. The menu is clear and concise. To tell the truth I'm actually happy that there is a new person at the counter. About a year or two ago there was a girl at the counter taking your order and she was completely rude, sarcastic, and unpleasant. I left feeling like it is about time I take a break from this place. So anyway the new girl at the desk is really nice and pleasant. I will definitely be back and recommend this spot to others. Note: Their Peruvian Chicken isn't completely authentic so don't be disappointed if it's not like what you are looking for. Instead try their burgers, sandwiches, etc read more

This place is decent and not much more than that, a very average generic standard sandwich shop. The food here is dirt cheap and usually pretty quick but it's nothing to get excited about. I've had far worse at places at the same price point but have also had much better so more or less you get what you pay for. They have some decent salads and the chicken is not bad either although I'm not sure it qualifies as true "Peruvian Chicken" as the sign says. If you're in a hurry and need a solid and quick option this is your place but if you're picky and looking for a memorable meal I'd recommend going elsewhere. read more

I'm not sure what all the hype is about this place because I didn't think it was that great. I'll admit the delivery was fast and the food was fresh, but probably wouldn't be my go to lunch spot. The house rice was okay (not the best in the world) and had some really mushy green beans in it. The other sides are alright. The macaroni salad seems to be just regular deli salad you could get at the grocery store. I also got the rotisserie chicken sandwich based off another photo on Yelp, and when it arrived I thought they had gotten my order wrong. It was on toasted white bread (not a roll), and looked like chicken salad. I did ask to add mayo, but it seemed like they mixed the chicken and mayo together to make it more of a salad. Should have gotten mayo on the side. They also forgot one of our side salads (Grubhub was able to issue a refund for that). But unfortunately that left one of our coworkers with only half a lunch. The flavor was okay. The half chicken was large but a little dry on the inside. After you get past the first layer, it doesn't have much flavor. After spending a month in Peru, I was excited to try it, but can say that this seems to be Americanized. read more

Just your typical sandwich shop. There is literally nothing special or particularly exciting about it here. The food and service are decent but I wouldn't necessarily go out of my way to eat here again. I ordered the Falafel on pita and my friend had the Peruvian chicken. Either the chicken wasn't that great or it was his lingering hangover that prevented him from finishing his meal. I would come here again if I was in a rush or desperate for a sandwich but otherwise don't expect too much. It's an average sandwich shop but does offer quite a number of options to choose from. read more

I lived down the street from this place for a year, and finally gave them a shot after realizing my usual spot had closed for good due to COVID (happening too often nowadays). I ordered a cheesesteak which was... okay? It wasn't necessarily bad but it really wasn't great. The fries were also not super great, a bit underdone IMO. I'd liken it to Never on Sunday down the street as far as quality, but the offerings are a bit different. Ordering was easy and the service was what I expected, about 15 minutes for the food to be ready. I probably won't come back, but if somebody specifically wanted to eat here I would do it. read more

I've been here twice and both times my food has been deelish. Initially I tried the Nova Scotia(think BLT with smoked salmon spread), which would be so much better with actual real smoked salmon...but it was passable. The second time I had their take on an Italian Cold Cut. Still good. I've yet to try the peruvian chicken. The only thing about this spot is the transition from ordering to waiting. Because their is no real waiting area for take out, you're kind of meandering by tables. Nothing worse than having your butt towards someone who's trying to eat. LOL It's in my neighborhood, so i'd try it again. read more

Definitely a bad idea to live right across the street from this place. The burgers never fail me. The breakfast slaps as well. The wraps are satisfying too. Fries are always good. Fist time trying this restaurant. Let me tell you, it is so good! The plantains are thick, sweet, and cooked to perfection! Friendly service but false advertising. Heard food was decent and was going to order some for a quick bite while in the area with friends but no. Why? Because I ordered a beer that was advertised for 4.99 on the menu tht was handed to me but was then charged 5.99. When I asked, was told, "price went up but we never changed our menu". I said that's false advertising and they should discard the menus but just received a smile and was told, "we have a lot so won't throw them out". Okay, so your sneaky dollar increase per drink didn't give you enough to justify printing new menus, I see...okay then. Either way, chose to skip the food, told friends who were meeting me to meet me next door after I finish the inflated beer, and so cannot recommend and will not be back. read more

Grille Twelve 24 seems to have an identity crisis, which isn't always a bad thing. But in this case, I can't say it helps. The idea is great because at a first glance, I love their menu. It has a lot of different foods that I like, and I want to try everything on it. I've had their Peruvian chicken, gyros, chicken wings, sandwiches, spinach pies, falafels, and cheese steaks. The pictures are very deceivingly mouth watering. However, the result is a sub-par hodge-podge of different foods that can be obtained elsewhere for lower price and higher quality. On a positive note, this place is new and has time to improve. The interior is great. Modern decor, plenty of seats, and very clean. read more

My new favorite place for healthy grilled chicken and yummy real beef burgers. Be sure to try the house rice as your side dish. Really friendly service brand new clean environment. If I could give zero stars I would! I came in town specifically for this restaurant because I remembered the chicken. I ordered and everything seemed fine, I was given a piece of chicken from yesterday. The chicken was hard and GRAY. I went to the front, the cashier gave me another piece of chicken that wasn't cooked. I took it back to the cashier and she responded "what do you want me to do?" With an attitude.... Wrong move, and then tried to fight me (argue) about a refund! Insane. Long story short the service is piss poor, completely unacceptable! read more

This place chicken cheesesteak is good but it doesn't have a lot of meat. The restaurant nickel and dime you for everything. I ordered a chicken cheesesteak with banana peppers, mayo, and extra onions and it was up charged .50 cents. I didn't order any other FREE toppings (lettuce, tomato, pickles) so why an upcharge for extra onions... Onions are free but I was charged.. I use to get the aoli sauce with my fries but they started charging for that...This is not a budget friendly place and price is constantly going up.... $14 for lunch is ridiculous and no drink included... I tried this place one time with a friend; I got chicken salad with fries and potato salad. The fries and potato salad were fine, nothing special. My portion of chicken salad was so huge that I couldn't eat it like a sandwich and I wish I had asked for other toppings like lettuce, tomato, etc. I'm pretty particular about the way that I like my chicken salad and I found this chicken to be ~ too flavorful ~ if that makes any sense and I don't like it when chicken salad is shredded so finely that it becomes homogenous the way that tuna salad is. Even though I didn't really like what I ordered, this place seems like it could be good so I'll probably be back to try something different from the menu. I like that the interior is spacious and that there's plenty of seating plus the staff was friendly. read more

Live in walking distance and decided to check this place out. Very nice place inside. I ordered the managers special which was $9.99 for 1/4 Peruvian chicken, two sides and a soda. Considering the prices at other Peruvian chicken joints in other cities, this place wasn't too over priced, about average. The chicken was delicious! The string beans I got as a side......... A bit too crunchy for my liking. The Caesar salad I got as the other side was normal, can't expect much from a generic Caesar salad lol. Overall I would say it was good, I would give it another try since I live close. But I definitely wouldn't choose the crunchy like a stale cookie green beans again. read more

I ordered food from here. The only saving grace was that it was on time but I think that's the grub hub guys doing. Anyway I was dissatisfied to say the least. My cheese steak was severely lacking meat and had way too much bread. The bread was also super chewy and hard to pull apart or bite through and ruined any chance of me enjoying my skimpy sandwich. I also ordered a fountain root beer and received a skinny bottle of Pepsi. After sales tax and delivery fee and tip, that meal cost me $22.23. Total deal right?? read more

I have eaten their food a few times now through Grubhub. That is my only complaint is they are not on Eat 24 and pretty sure not on Order Up. Honestly that is the least of my worries though. The half chicken is the bomb and the rips I've had on a sample platter were excellent as well. I really need to go into the restaurant one of these days but nothing beats eating this food and then taking a nap on the couch. I would like to add a side note. If you live a block or two away from a restaurant why on earth would you order their food through Grubhub. Go there and order it and take it home or call them you don't have to use Grubhub and yes like with any other restaurant that uses one of those services those companies kinda own the situation the restaurant can't do anything for you unless you ordered directly through them. Don't go posting BS about a company that you were too lazy to walk a block down to. Also Mount Vernon isn't a small part of town it's basically part of downtown Baltimore. I live in Waverly now that is a small part of town. read more

Though the restaurant is only 2 blocks away we ordered for delivery. After 45 min our food finally came and was of course cold. When we called the restaurant they blamed grubhub and said they could not do anything. When asked how they would make this right they just said talk to grubhub. No apology just passing the buck. You would think that they would value local patrons more especially in a small neighborhood like ours. They had a perfect opportunity to earn a good reputation - but they squandered it. read more

My FAVORITEEEEEEE restaurant for lunch in BALTIMORE!!!!! From the food to the service everything is lovely! Great prices, even better food (AND beer & wine), and very friendly staff. I went to Grille Twelve 24 the other day on a whim, and I'm glad I did. I tried a chicken sandwich on rosemary focaccia with a lemon herb aioli - the bread and aioli made the chicken sandwich unique - they were super super tasty. I also shared a few sides (you can get 2 when you upgrade your meal) - the fries were served with a really unique dipping sauce that I loved. I definitely recommend the mozzarella sticks - they're beer battered perfection! My mouth is watering right now just thinking about them. Overall I recommend stopping in for take-out or getting together with friends or co-workers here (they have beer on tap!). I'll definitely be back! read more

I went in after work and could tell they were closing down, so I was going to leave. I know, being in the biz how annoying those people who come in right at closing are, but they insisted on serving me. They were very nice about it and that is why they get the extra star. I ordered a medium cheeseburger with tomato, ketchup and mayo and a cheese steak sub with lettuce tomato, grilled onion (Which they charged an extra .50 cents for, but is standard on a cheese steak) and onion. Cheeseburger didn't have cheese nor tomato and was just drenched in ketchup. Couldn't even hold it without being covered in ketchup. Took a bite. Was almost raw. If that's medium, I'd hate to see rare. But here is the odd part, even tho it was rare, it had all the juice cooked out of it, was so dry. How do you do that? Fries - Inedible Cheesesteak - So doused in salt, it was inedible. Roll was so chewy and unable to tear apart. No sign of cheese. 20 bucks for a meal I took two bites of. No thanks, the search continues for ONE good place in Mt. Vernon for carry out. read more

Now this review is limited to their "peruvian" chicken, rice, and beans. My peruvian experience is both (1) many homemade meals by unrelated families, and (2) going to peruvian restaurants where cooks (and patrons!) are peruvian. Short Story: Threw out the plate after a few bites, waste of money. Staples to peruvian food that is NOT on the menu (and the first hint at lack of authenticity): No plaintains, no arroz chaufa. The Chicken: was served warm, not hot. It was not well seasoned, dry and tasted bland. Oh and very overpriced. The White rice: bland (did i mention arroz chaufa is NOT on the menu?). The Beans: mixed with peppers and pineapple (not something i've seen before), and yet, somehow very dry. The Sauces: Neither tasted authentic. The green sauce is supposed to be spicy (which it is NOT), and the yellow sauce tasted diluted. Oh and the service: "okay." Cashier didn't say Hi, or a "I'll be right with you" despite catching my eye at the register (she was bagging up one to-go-box, very slowly). read more
