My sister had been raving about this lamb souvlaki wrap while we were out last night--had me thinking about it when I woke up today so I was determined to have it for lunch. I took her with me. The food identifies as diner food even if they are trying to be a cafe/grille. And it's pretty good diner food; American, Greek, Italian and Peruvian are all on the menu. My personal fav is the spinach pie platter. I think if they leaned into the diner persona, people wouldn't be as confused by 1224's identity crisis. But a good amount of regulars are coming in and out whenever I'm here, so they've figured it out. It's good, it's quick and it's served with a smile. Platters are a great deal, lots of food! Very bad. We ordered here for our Saturday night menu. The Charles St. Baguette turkey sandwich was on small, stale sliced white bread, not a baguette, with very little ingredients. It was offensive that they would try to send that instead. How someone can mess up a turkey sandwich is beyond me. The Peruvian Chicken Wrap had no sauce (it was supposed to be hot spicy), but the chicken and rice in it were good. My salad was horrible and when I asked for shrimp salad I didn't know it was gonna be a garden salad with a scoop of shrimp salad on top. I thought it was just shrimp. I paid for extra chicken and that was a waste. $19 for a salad that was worth maybe $10 read more

Despite me leaving an above average review over a year ago on Yelp for this business highlighting the positives, management reached out on Google review to critique MY EXPERIENCE from today w many words not including an apology. Kudos to the young lady that initially assisted me and empathized w me when things weren't up to par. She apologized. The issue... Menu was extremely limited due to issues that were beyond the business's control. If a business wants to remain open throughout a minor crisis, they cannot impose on customers... PERIOD. Customer service should be a larger accommodation due to inconvenience. My initial order was Shrimp on a bed a lettuce. I was given a Shrimp Salad Sandwich on lettuce minus bread. I didn't know this weird meal existed. I refused and switched to old mediocre faithful. 1/4 dark meal. There was a $3 price differential that they were unable to offer back in cash or credit. I was offered a cookie or watermelon (not ripe). No & Nope. I requested a side Salad. I always get a side garden/ Caesar salad w meals (see previous visit pics). I had to go toe to toe to get a side salad that I was eventually given but wasn't made fresh and was taken from under the shrimp salad I refused previously. There was so much mayo within lettuce that it flung on my cardigan while I tossed it. NOT COOL! Mayonnaise drenched throughout my lettuce forcing me to trash it. I will not die if I have dairy but large amounts make me ill. I was gonna let it fly but apparently management couldn't. To tell the truth I'm actually happy that there is a new person at the counter. This place is decent and not much more than that, a very average generic standard sandwich shop. The food here is dirt cheap and usually pretty quick but it's nothing to get excited about. I've had far worse at places at the same price point but have also had much better so more or less you get what you pay for. They have some decent salads and the chicken is not bad either although I'm not sure it qualifies as true "Peruvian Chicken" as the sign says. If you're in a hurry and need a solid and quick option this is your place but if you're picky and looking for a memorable meal I'd recommend going elsewhere. read more

I'm not sure what all the hype is about this place because I didn't think it was that great. I'll admit the delivery was fast and the food was fresh, but probably wouldn't be my go to lunch spot. The house rice was okay (not the best in the world) and had some really mushy green beans in it. The other sides are alright. The macaroni salad seems to be just regular deli salad you could get at the grocery store. I also got the rotisserie chicken sandwich based off another photo on Yelp, and when it arrived I thought they had gotten my order wrong. It was on toasted white bread (not a roll), and looked like chicken salad. I did ask to add mayo, but it seemed like they mixed the chicken and mayo together to make it more of a salad. Should have gotten mayo on the side. They also forgot one of our side salads (Grubhub was able to issue a refund for that). But unfortunately that left one of our coworkers with only half a lunch. The flavor was okay. The half chicken was large but a little dry on the inside. After you get past the first layer, it doesn't have much flavor. After spending a month in Peru, I was excited to try it, but can say that this seems to be Americanized. read more

Just your typical sandwich shop. There is literally nothing special or particularly exciting about it here. The food and service are decent but I wouldn't necessarily go out of my way to eat here again. I ordered the Falafel on pita and my friend had the Peruvian chicken. Either the chicken wasn't that great or it was his lingering hangover that prevented him from finishing his meal. I would come here again if I was in a rush or desperate for a sandwich but otherwise don't expect too much. I lived down the street from this place for a year, and finally gave them a shot after realizing my usual spot had closed for good due to COVID (happening too often nowadays). I ordered a cheesesteak which was... okay? It wasn't necessarily bad but it really wasn't great. The fries were also not super great, a bit underdone IMO. I'd liken it to Never on Sunday down the street as far as quality, but the offerings are a bit different. Fist time trying this restaurant. Let me tell you, it is so good! The plantains are thick, sweet, and cooked to perfection! I ordered the Peruvian chicken wrap...its a wrap big enough for lunch and dinner! Perfectly seasoned! Because I ordered a beer that was advertised for 4.99 on the menu tht was handed to me but was then charged 5.99. When I asked, was told, "price went up but we never changed our menu". I said that's false advertising and they should discard the menus but just received a smile and was told, "we have a lot so won't throw them out". Grille Twelve 24 seems to have an identity crisis, which isn't always a bad thing. But in this case, I can't say it helps. The idea is great because at a first glance, I love their menu. It has a lot of different foods that I like, and I want to try everything on it. I've had their Peruvian chicken, gyros, chicken wings, sandwiches, spinach pies, falafels, and cheese steaks. The pictures are very deceivingly mouth watering. However, the result is a sub-par hodge-podge of different foods that can be obtained elsewhere for lower price and higher quality. This place chicken cheesesteak is good but it doesn't have a lot of meat. The restaurant nickel and dime you for everything. I ordered a chicken cheesesteak with banana peppers, mayo, and extra onions and it was up charged .50 cents. I didn't order any other FREE toppings (lettuce, tomato, pickles) so why an upcharge for extra onions... Onions are free but I was charged.. I use to get the aoli sauce with my fries but they started charging for that...This is not a budget friendly place and price is constantly going up.... $14 for lunch is ridiculous and no drink included... Live in walking distance and decided to check this place out. Very nice place inside. I ordered the managers special which was $9.99 for 1/4 Peruvian chicken, two sides and a soda. Considering the prices at other Peruvian chicken joints in other cities, this place wasn't too over priced, about average. The chicken was delicious! The string beans I got as a side......... A bit too crunchy for my liking. The Caesar salad I got as the other side was normal, can't expect much from a generic Caesar salad lol. If you live a block or two away from a restaurant why on earth would you order their food through Grubhub. I tried this place one time with a friend; I got chicken salad with fries and potato salad. The fries and potato salad were fine, nothing special. My portion of chicken salad was so huge that I couldn't eat it like a sandwich and I wish I had asked for other toppings like lettuce, tomato, etc. I'm pretty particular about the way that I like my chicken salad and I found this chicken to be ~ too flavorful ~ if that makes any sense and I don't like it when chicken salad is shredded so finely that it becomes homogenous the way that tuna salad is. Even though I didn't really like what I ordered, this place seems like it could be good so I'll probably be back to try something different from the menu. I know, being in the biz how annoying those people who come in right at closing are, but they insisted on serving me. They were very nice about it and that is why they get the extra star. I ordered a medium cheeseburger with tomato, ketchup and mayo and a cheese steak sub with lettuce tomato, grilled onion (Which they charged an extra .50 cents for, but is standard on a cheese steak) and onion. Cheeseburger didn't have cheese nor tomato and was just drenched in ketchup. Couldn't even hold it without being covered in ketchup. Took a bite. Was almost raw. If that's medium, I'd hate to see rare. But here is the odd part, even tho it was rare, it had all the juice cooked out of it, was so dry. How do you do that? Fries - Inedible Cheesesteak - So doused in salt, it was inedible. Roll was so chewy and unable to tear apart. No sign of cheese. 20 bucks for a meal I took two bites of. I didn't order from grub hub, so I am not sure what this person was referring to, but perhaps taking 10 seconds to listen and answer a pretty simple question, would've saved us both several minutes of calling. Honestly, I understand when things get busy and can forgive hurried customer service if the food was really good. It wasn't. The black beans were bland mush and had soaked through the bottom of the cardboard, the chicken was dry and the turkey burger was cooked until it had the texture of cardboard. She responded by stating "he has on gloves" but turned around to find, to her surprise, that he DID NOT. She then went to speak with him and he put gloves on one hand. That woman continued her task, began servicing another customer, took a phone call then told me that I can come to her register. I asked if she was the owner and manager and she responded, "yes." I informed her of my reason for asking for a refund. Instead of apologizing for the employee's unsanitary actions, the inconvenience or simply stating it's no problem for us to remake the sandwich, she stated "there are two sinks here & I can assure you that employees wash their hands several times throughout the day..." I went to Grille Twelve 24 the other day on a whim, and I'm glad I did. I tried a chicken sandwich on rosemary focaccia with a lemon herb aioli - the bread and aioli made the chicken sandwich unique - they were super super tasty. I also shared a few sides (you can get 2 when you upgrade your meal) - the fries were served with a really unique dipping sauce that I loved. I definitely recommend the mozzarella sticks - they're beer battered perfection! My mouth is watering right now just thinking about them. Overall I recommend stopping in for take-out or getting together with friends or co-workers here (they have beer on tap!). I'll definitely be back! read more

We ordered through doordash & often descriptions are either missing or incomplete so assumptions are on us..however when you're paying 13.00+ for a hamburger (single patty, average size) most local places include chips or FF for that price. Burger patty was good, but the roll was really dry & the egg was solid (normally breakfast type burgers have a runny yolk). Based on taste, we'd probably order again but not for the pricing for what you get - too many local places offer larger quantity with a side included for the same price range. Now this review is limited to their "peruvian" chicken, rice, and beans. My peruvian experience is both (1) many homemade meals by unrelated families, and (2) going to peruvian restaurants where cooks (and patrons!) are peruvian. Short Story: Threw out the plate after a few bites, waste of money. Staples to peruvian food that is NOT on the menu (and the first hint at lack of authenticity): No plaintains, no arroz chaufa. The Chicken: was served warm, not hot. It was not well seasoned, dry and tasted bland. Oh and very overpriced. The White rice: bland (did i mention arroz chaufa is NOT on the menu?). The Beans: mixed with peppers and pineapple (not something i've seen before), and yet, somehow very dry. The Sauces: Neither tasted authentic. The green sauce is supposed to be spicy (which it is NOT), and the yellow sauce tasted diluted. Oh and the service: "okay."
