We went in a cold day snowed streets hoping to get tomatoe soup and grilled cheese. With a sub for mom. We met some nice bartenders that were attentive and engaging. Didnt have my soup nor grilled cheese. So I settled for a salad. Mom enjoyed her Wed special, cheesesteak so that was enough for me

This is an excellent neighborhood dive bar. The prices are reasonable and the food is very well executed, classic bar food. The deviled eggs were particularly good; they taste like something you get at a family cookout. The bar has the exact kind of ambiance you would hope for at this type of establishment - it's dimly lit, covered in dark wood, with some old, yellow and red old stained glass lamps, and a dart board in the back.

29th street is a hidden gem! Truly one of my favorite places to eat! I have yet to order something from here that I do not like and they are super consistent! Every time I come, the food is just as good as it was the previous time. Menu is affordable. I forgot to get a photo of the chicken cheesesteak and blt but both were delicious. The handcut fries are AMAZING as well.

Great local spot for a beer or cider in a friendly environment. The bartenders are genuinely nice folks, too. Somehow, I'm going to make it here soon for a happy hour to take advantage of their great.

The place is a hip and cool scene, a packed local bar scene. I ordered a delicious veggie burger and fries and a non-alcoholic beer. The staff were friendly and welcoming.

Food was awesome especially the Maryland cream of crab soup. Service was excellent. Beers are cheap.

I really should just copy the review @OctaviusS wrote and paste it here (with attribution!). We went on the early side, and I think all three of us got burgers -- but the burger that was on special, the smash burger. So, so good. I also love their selection of beer, and the cozy, homey atmosphere. Definitely plan to visit again when I'm in Baltimore again.

I have been hearing great things about a neighborhood bar in Remington.. I had just finished breakfast (dnt judge me) and decided I'd grab a quick cocktail. They dnt open until 11, so I was a tad early, so I took a walk around the neighborhood.. I returned closer to 11:30.. The bartender Zach thanked me for coming back and said I could grab a seat anywhere.. I chose the bar!!! A table had already been seated, and Zach was hard at work.. He was a bit short stafdes but managed to still provide his seated party & I wonderful attention.. I ordered a green tea shot, and it was the punch I needed but not too strong... After a while I got hungry and ordered a cup of cream of crab soup... THAT SOUP WAS KICK BUTT... Creamy..seasoned to perfection.. delectable chunks of crab... AWESOME!! Great choice... Clean.. awesomesauce service & although only soup - A+!!!

I've popped by a few times because it's all the buzz. I typically get whatever the daily special is and it hits every time 10/10.

It seemed like they were out of a lot items even though it was prime lunch hours. Also some of the ingredients didn't look too fresh. For example, the blueberries and shredded carrots looked old and dried up. Anyways, I decided to get jerk chicken with mixed greens and had the option to choose 4 more items (cherry tomatoes, candied pecan, hard boiled egg and bell peppers). I decided to try the honey ginger dressing. The lady making my salad was very polite but did take some time to make the salad. Also, the place is called "Tossed Together" so I thought they would toss my salad in a bowl but they just gave me salad dressing on the side in small plastic container with foil on top. Had to be careful transporting it to my office so the dressing didn't spill over and get all over the place. The salad was good, but I wouldn't say it was $12.75 good. Portion was small for the price and as I've mentioned earlier, some of the ingredients didn't look fresh. I understand this place just opened up not too long ago, so they might be still working out their kinks so I'm willing to try this place out again maybe in a month or so.

Definitely about to be my go to for healthy delicious food.

That first night after the drive was an entire vibe. Their espresso martini--made with almond milk, I believe--was different in the best way and so, so good. The food? Don't even get me started. The Bang Bang Shrimp, Cheezesteak Eggrolls, Elote Street Corn, and Maple Brussels Sprouts were all hits. Every single one. We loved it so much that we decided not to rush back to NYC and make a full weekend out of it. One of the owners personally recommended ROOST Baltimore Pennisula, a nearby apartment-style hotel, and wow--beyond awesome. Truly the perfect suggestion. We came back to Bar Vegan for brunch, and somehow the experience was even better than the night before. Our server, Shavone, was phenomenal--attentive, kind, warm, and just an absolute joy. We also got to meet some of the kitchen staff preparing our food, and I made sure to give them their flowers because listen... I am not vegan, and I loved everything. The omelette, sausage, shrimp and grits, chopped salad, French toast, and fresh-squeezed juices were all superb. Before heading back to NYC, we stopped in one final time that evening--and once again, they did not miss. The oxtails and jollof rice, Brussels sprouts, corn, and potstickers were straight fire. I truly wish nothing but continued success and growth for this place. Bar Vegan deserves all the love, all the recognition, and all the thriving. We came as visitors and left as fans for life. Be well--and we'll definitely be back.

Ordered the special event drink, which was essentially the lychee martini on their menu. This was a big no no. Didn't taste like lychee at all but mainly peach schnapps. Definitely not for me or what I ordered. We left just before 9pm, which was when the DJ started playing some good jams. People started rolling in too. I really appreciated her vibe, and I noticed that when food is ready, she actually comes out from behind the counter to hand-deliver it to customers. That kind of small gesture goes a long way. The place is mostly carry-out, but there are a few bar-style seats if you want to eat there. The menu isn't your typical fast food lineup either, they've got some creative, non-traditional options that definitely stand out. We tried the Jerk Chicken Cheesesteak, Fried Chicken Sandwich, 1908 Chicken Cheesesteak, and Fish Tacos, and they were all delicious. Seriously, everything was seasoned well and packed with flavor, with the exception of our fries, which isn't the end of the world. The jerk cheesesteak had a nice kick without being too spicy, and the fried chicken sandwich had the perfect crunch. For drinks, we had the Strawberry Lemonade and the Peach Half & Half, both were refreshing and hit that perfect sweet spot without being too sugary. Overall, Café 1908 has a cool vibe, great food, and friendly service. It's one of those hidden gems you're glad you stumbled across.

I had the muffuletta, caponata and some Pignoli cookies and I truly cannot speak highly enough about each item. The sandwich was wonderful and well balanced, the Caponata was genuinely some of the best Caponata I've had in my entire life. As someone who makes Caponata on an almost weekly basis I was absolutely blown away at this one and would genuinely rank it top five I've ever had. The Pignoli cookies were good as well they were a bit harder than I like, but no real complaints. There's not much to speak to in terms of service here as it's an order at the counter and seat yourself kind of place but staff was friendly and then ambiance is again nothing too crazy but definitely a great lunch spot and so many fun items to purchase. Next time I'm in Baltimore, I will without a doubt be coming back here and would genuinely put this on a must hit list for anyone visiting the city.
