My chicken wasn't done prices have gone up and quality has gone down. My chicken quesadilla was floppy. Like what are we doing I love supporting Black Owned Businesses but we have to do better. Never again can't just waste money like that on food to an establishment that doesn't care.

On our way home from work, my husband and I decided to have Goldies from dinner. We normally order from the location on Reisterstown Road, but the newest location is closer, so we decided to order from here. I am not sure how long this location has been open, but the other location is definitely my preferred spot. I am no stranger to hood spots, the normally have the best food, but the characters and the activity on the block of North Ave was a bit much! I placed my order through Grubhub and received a message that it was being prepared and would be ready in 20 minutes. While I didn't time it, I am pretty sure that my order took 45 to an hour instead. When I got my food home, one of my quesadillas was not in the bag and the parts of the order I did receive were cold. I am confused as to why it took so long, but my food wasn't handed to me hot or complete. The quality of the food at this location is not as good as their first one. It lacked seasoning and wasn't prepared the same. Maybe this visit was just a fluke or a new location just needing some time to get settled, but I will definitely be patronizing the other location instead of this one.

I ordered the salmon tato. It was fresh and delicious. It was seasoned to perfection. I will definitely go back to try other items on the menu. Plus the staff was very friendly.

So it cost me $10-15 to for a plastic takeout container. Had I not looked at the customer copy of the bill I would have not only not known but I would have tipped based on the total which already included the additional gratuity charge (which was not disclosed on the merchant copy). This is so unnecessary and ruined what would have been a good experience. They said it was a "sharing charge" which I have experienced and applies when u have another diner with you and u decide to split an entree. Had they disclosed I would at least had the option to finish the meal. The saying "stepping over dollars to pick up pennies " seems to apply as this left such a bad taste I doubt I will return despite the fact the crab cake was delicious and the loaded baked potato was average (hardly loaded) Beware of the hidden gratuity for take home leftovers!!! Update to above: I did follow up with Angie this morning and she was very kind and offered to credit back my card for the extra gratuity. She also explained that I was misled about the "sharing charge" but they do automatically add 15% gratuity regardless of party size or quality of service. So I would give 4 stars for the food quality and 1 star for the way in which they present and charge gratuity. Tipping should remain at the discretion of the diner based on service and food quality otherwise just get rid of tipping and raise your prices

I absolutely loved it, from the prompt service to the ambience to the local, delicious food, we had such a lovely dinner. I came for oysters and I got them. First we had a dozen raw oysters from the True Chesapeake farm, which were so fresh and flavorful. My favorite hands down was the Chunky Dunker oyster, gigantic and meaty. Then we had broiled oysters, you know, for some variety! They were fantastic. Dinner was fabulous, I had the scallops and my husband had the fish. We ate every single bite, and all but licked the plates clean. To finish, we had dessert cocktails - the Grasshopper tastes like an Andes mint - and we happily headed home with full bellies. I can't wait to come back and try more of the local seafood on offer!

The apps were incredible. I absolutely loved the beet salad, steak tartare and the handmade spaghetti with clams. You can't go wrong with the brisket meal or their sides - whether it's the grilled chicken or the CAULIFLOWER. GET IT! The oysters were hyper local. Good but not the greatest as I prefer more northern. They have a great selection of oysters locally available so everyone could find one they'd like. I preferred one of them but they didn't identify which was which.

I stopped in on a Wednesday around 6:30. There were no other customers there but in the short time I waited for my food, about 3 or 4 customers came in to order. I planned to order my food to go but although empty, I could feel the vibes so I dined inside. I went with the stuffed salmon, collard greens and Mac and cheese were my sides. I also ordered a side of sweet potatoes because I could smell cinnamon/soul food the minute I walked through the door. My first bite was the collard greens, so was my second, third and forth. I couldn't stop! Then I tried the stuffed salmon, perfection!!! I almost ordered it without the old bay aioli because I was nervous about it making the salmon too salty. I'm glad I ordered as is. It is BOMB!! It's stuffed, really stuffed, possibly with a whole nice size crab cake on top, in addition to the crab meat inside the fish. Next bite was the Mac and cheese. Gosh it was so flavorful. I'd like it a little cheesier but I'm still ordering again on my next visit. Lastly was the sweet potatoes. Divine!!! So good! They were more like mashed sweet potatoes which I love! And listen .... If they add sweet potato pie to the menu and use the same recipe as they do for the sides .... My lord!! Take my money! Heading back to try the stuffed lamb chops, potato salad and the brunch menu. I glanced quickly and the first thing I saw was "The Notorious T-Bone", t- bone steak, cheese eggs and welch's grape. Stop playing with meeeee Highly recommend!! Already told friends!

I was able to find street parking right in front. I was surprised that there wasn't anyone in there at that time. It may just have been that time of day. The place is quaint with about 10 tables and a few seats at the bar. After reviewing the menu, which is heavy on the seafood, I went with the Wing platter which comes with 6 wings and two sides. I ordered the Mac and collard greens. $15. Not bad for the amount of food you get. I didn't get my wings tossed because I wanted to try the wings naked. I did ask for a side of honey lemon pepper. Overall the food was tasty. Greens and Mac were both really good. Not overly salty, which was a plus. The Mac was creamy and very cheesy. I enjoyed the wings, but will prob get them tossed in a sauce next time. The wing by itself lacked a bit of seasoning. Nothing a little hot sauce couldn't fix!! Was happy with the service, quality of food and overall experience. I'll def be back.

I really appreciated her vibe, and I noticed that when food is ready, she actually comes out from behind the counter to hand-deliver it to customers. That kind of small gesture goes a long way. The place is mostly carry-out, but there are a few bar-style seats if you want to eat there. The menu isn't your typical fast food lineup either, they've got some creative, non-traditional options that definitely stand out. We tried the Jerk Chicken Cheesesteak, Fried Chicken Sandwich, 1908 Chicken Cheesesteak, and Fish Tacos, and they were all delicious. Seriously, everything was seasoned well and packed with flavor, with the exception of our fries, which isn't the end of the world. The jerk cheesesteak had a nice kick without being too spicy, and the fried chicken sandwich had the perfect crunch. For drinks, we had the Strawberry Lemonade and the Peach Half & Half, both were refreshing and hit that perfect sweet spot without being too sugary. Overall, Café 1908 has a cool vibe, great food, and friendly service. It's one of those hidden gems you're glad you stumbled across.
