I have been hearing so much about LP Steamers recently and I am so glad I finally got to try it this weekend. The crabs were meaty and delicious, with even the legs having meat in them. That is always my favorite part! We sat inside and upstairs, and it felt like the perfect little table escape. It wasn't too loud and food was delivered so quickly. Service was great! The prices are very reasonable for a seafood house, especially the hearty seafood platter. The lobster tail on that was amazing. My only request would be for them to actually say what kind of oysters they have, instead of saying "local oysters." They were still delicious and the perfect way to start our meal. Additionally, for being a seafood house, it was fairly clean. You are encompassed in seafood from the moment you walk in, in the best way possible. It is truly a meal you won't regret! read more

A local seafood joint with good food and good vibes! They have three floors of seating, some picnic tables outside the restaurant, and outdoor rooftop seating. Even then we had to wait about 20 minutes on a Sunday evening, but the food was definitely worth the wait! They're known for their steamed crabs which we didn't end up getting, but if its anything like their other steamed seafood then I'd bet its delicious. The shrimp, scallop, and lobster tail were cooked to perfection and were very fresh! The scallop was a bit under seasoned but we forgot all about it when we tried their cocktail sauce! My gf liked their cocktail sauce so much that it became her standard of comparison at subsequent restaurants and she thought none were comparable! The soft shell crab sandwich was also very yummy! The soft shell crab itself was quite meaty and nicely seasoned. The crab dip was yummy but felt a bit heavy. We also didn't taste much crab flavor in it but overall it was still enjoyable. Finally got a chance to try LP Steamers this past weekend and I loved it! Service from Anthony was prompt and friendly. He provided great recommendations and stayed on top of drink orders. We sat on the rooftop deck and enjoyed views of Locust Point and the Inner Harbor. It can be fairly sunny up there with some tables only partially shaded so be sure to bring sunscreen. We ordered two dozen large crabs (the two other bigger sizes were already sold out), half a dozen raw oysters, steamed corn, and plenty of apps. Crabs were $125/dozen in June 2026. Everything was delicious! Crabs were an excellent size with the type of clumpy seasoning that I prefer. They don't serve cocktails here but they do have wine, beer, and seltzers. We all enjoyed the orange crush cocktail in a can over crushed ice which was not bad for not being a fresh crush. They only seat you once your full party is there FYI. There's lots of seating on all levels of the building so there was luckily no wait for us once our party arrived. The staff was even nice enough to store my friend's birthday cake and allow us to cut it at the upstairs bar. Such a good neighborhood vibe here and excellent food! I'll be back. read more

Our favorite meal of our Baltimore trip! LP Steamers was the closer of two spots that were recommended to me. The 71 bus doesn't run that frequently, but it got us there and back again! In fact it stops right by the restaurant! They only had medium $7.50 and large $10 that night. I would suggest getting the larger size to make the work cracking the crabs more efficient. Although now that I think of it, it might make it tougher to crack through the shell... Oh well, you do you. We ordered 3 large crabs apiece and a onion ring appetizer to share. They provide you each with your weapons of the evening - a wooden mallet and a knife - however if you want a bib or lemons, those are by request only. When your steamed crabs are ready, they are slid into the middle of your table with great skill. Voila! Dinner is served! Go at them! I guess L P Steamers had an off night or I just ordered wrong. It was a long day and my last night in Baltimore. I can't leave the city without having crabs! I was tired so I settled on crab cakes. I found parking on the street, be careful because in front of the restaurant is a bus stop. Walking inside, I pretty much have a place to myself. I'm seated by the waitress and I'm given a menu. I was going to order crab cakes but I see a fried seafood platter with a single crab cake. Sold! I ordered a Summer Shanty beer as well to get the party started. Y'all, the fish was over fried. The clam strips, some were crunchy and the fried oysters had a fishy taste. The crab cake was good but the shell was over cooked. I ate what I could, I paid the check and left quickly. We came for lunch to try some of the famous blue crabs. We ordered the boh't load of food, a c asae salad and the kids got popcorn shrimp with fries. The combo came with 4 medium crabs, 4 oysters, 4 scallops, a dozen shrimp, a dozen clams, two dozen mussels, and a lobster tail. The crabs were very heavily (overly) seasoned with old bay seasoning. The crabs we got were just ok, perhaps because it's the beginning of the season. Both the clams and mussels were overcooked and dry. The fish was also pretty heavily seasoned, likely to cover up the fishiness of the seafood. We came on a Sunday and the food didn't taste that fresh. The shrimp, scallop, and lobster tail were fine. The popcorn shrimp is heavily bartered and the shrimp themselves were very small. The Cesar salad came with very large and very crunchy croutons. Service is friendly but a bit on the slow side, considering that it wasn't that busy when we were there. It was easy to find street parking near the restaurant. Perhaps our expectations were too high. We were debating between Nicks and LP Steamers and decided to forego ambiance for better food, but we were disappointed by the food. Delicious and fun experience. I tried the crab cakes, they were so tasty. Next, I tried one large crab. I take forever to eat crab because I get all the nooks and crannies lol grandma taught me not to waste any food, y'all! I was sad that I came at night and they had run out of the jumbo and ginormous size crabs. I love the simplicity of just eating a crab on a brown-paper-lined table so you're free to make a big mess and it's easy to clean up for them. They provide a cute little hammer to crack open the crab legs - and they sell it as well for $3. I bought one as a little souvenir because I love crab and thinking about eating it makes me happy hahaha. Overall highly recommend getting your crab fix here (or any of their other locations) if you're visiting Baltimore! Locals recommended this place to us. If you're a seafood loving non-car owner, one way to get really depressed is looking up bus schedules to Grasonville. It was great to learn about this steamed crab specialist in Baltimore. There are other seafood spots where crabs make an appearance, but LP Steamers is all about the crustaceans. I got three mediums, which was the only size available tonight. So you're not guaranteed of getting small or "ginormous" at any given time but I'm glad they're using a fresh supply. I don't know if the flavoring was Old Bay or Old Bay-adjacent but it was excellent. I wasn't on the prowl for elaborate sides but the corn was a fine summer accompaniment. It had been a minute since we had last been here, but we had to stop again. The seafood is fresh and delicious.. It was surprisingly busy mid afternoon the last time we came here it was kind of slow, but we're glad that it was still lively, and the service was great.. the only wish as usual is that I wish that they served the broil with potatoes and corn, but you have to order those on the side if you want them and they didn't have them this time around. When I'm in Baltimore I always make it a point to stop here. The seafood is so yummy, great price point and the staff is very friendly. For starters my hubby got the crab dip, I got the cream of crab soup- both so yummy. For dinner I got the Francis Scott Trio with a lobster tail, shrimp, and scallops. The lobster and shrimp were delicious but I prefer my scallopps more well done with a crust or broiled. I also got a large crab which was great. My hubby got mussels and really enjoyed them. 3 years later and this place is still my favorite crab spot. I come here a few times a year and they've never disappointed me. We actually recommend them to everyone and whenever people visit us we bring them here for crabs if in Baltimore. The order we get is kind of the same each time- I always get the half and half cup of soup, and I get a couple of large steamed crabs. My bf always tends to get the fried pickles and the Francis Scott trio- raw oysters, clams and grilled scallops. Service is always great here, and very friendly and attentive. The best part is we always tend to find a seat outside and we tend to bring our dogs along with us. We stopped by for an early dinner this past weekend. It gets busy quickly, because we arrived before 5 PM and were seated on the third floor of the restaurant. There were already lots of full tables! Our servers were attentive and we got and finished our food within 1.5 hours. OLD BAY FRIES - 8 For those not familiar with Old Bay seasoning, it's used in a lot of curly fries, so it reminded us of curly fries. It was fresh and good, but some pieces had way too much seasoning so it was incredibly salty. LOCAL OYSTERS - 2.5 These were OK, I got three of them. It wasn't very briny, and I needed a lot of cocktail sauce and horseradish to enjoy them. PREMIUM OYSTERS - 3 I got two of these and they were much brinier and tastier. I would pay an extra 50 cents for premium oysters. JUMBO HOT STEAMED CRABS - MKT Price We paid 11.67 per crab! I got two of them, which was a good amount for me. The shell had a generous coating of Old Bay seasoning, and we were given wooden mallets to assist with breaking the shell to enjoy the crab meat. The crab body had a lot of meat that went well with the side of butter. I lowkey gave up on the claws and legs, so i didn't eat too much of that. Very crusty fingers afterwards! Overall, pretty decent find, we enjoyed our crab dinner at L.P. Steamers. I would highly recommend stopping by for early dinner to avoid the rush and long waits. read more

Wow delicious. I am so glad my husband and I stopped by and tried LP steamers! I love the casual ambiance of the place and the great wait staff. The food was amazing! Went to visit Baltimore for the crabs. I love this place for its sea food. They have their tables covered with disposable covers to help with the yucky process of opening up a crab. Service to sit down was quick and our order came out really quickly (we also came on a random weekday). I remember just being in front of a big screen tv that was playing the Orioles baseball game. We got 1 Maryland blue crab. They asked if we wanted a male or a female one. We didn't know the difference and honestly didn't even know how to use the mallets to open it. We did learn that female crabs have orange/yellowish goo inside. I wish they would have given a tutorial or asked us if we knew what we were doing because I am sure we didn't get half the crab meat out. We also ordered hush puppies and fried onions which were pretty basic and decent. We liked the dessert type dip that came with the hush puppies. The steamed sampler is pretty good if you like mussels. They gave a bunch of mussels, oysters, clams. It's outside of the touristy area so I feel this is a bit more local fav than tourist fav. It's in a good looking old building. Have downstairs and upstairs seating. The vibe is very casual. Paper trays and plastic utensils on paper table covering. One thing really standout is the use of Old Bay seasoning. It's also coated on the steamed crabs and shrimps we ordered. When in Maryland, you must get some blue crabs! Definitely go to Locust Point Steamers in Baltimore if you want to get the full Maryland crab experience. We ordered the medium sized crabs, I believe they have 5 different sizes, onion rings, and the cream of crab soup. The cream of crab soup was definitely super creamy and had good flavor. The onion rings were nicely fried, not greasy, and were a great side. Now, the crab, it was good! Had good meat inside for all the crabs and was pretty sweet. Not as sweet as dungeness crab though, in my opinion. I'm also not a big fan of old bay but luckily it didn't affect my meal. I would totally come back if ever in Maryland! Really disappointed with our experience at LP Steamers today. We called ahead and asked what crab sizes were available and were told "all sizes." After waiting over an hour (despite being quoted 45 minutes), we finally got seated and were told only mediums were available. Service was rough from the start. We sat for around 20 minutes before anyone even acknowledged us. Food and drinks were repeatedly brought to our table that belonged to other people, and it felt very disorganized overall. The soup we ordered was forgotten, and after reminding them, it finally came out ice cold. The crabs themselves were disappointing too -- several were soggy, light, and lacked quality. For a place known for crabs, that was frustrating. We also noticed employees hanging around on their phones in closet area while service throughout the restaurant seemed overwhelmed. It honestly felt like they desperately need a dedicated busser and drink runner because the servers appeared stretched too thin. To top it off, asking for the check took forever. I spoke with the manager, Vicki, at the end. She apologized, but no attempt was made to make things right in any way. I understand restaurants get busy, especially on weekends, but for the wait, the service issues, and the quality we received, this was not a good experience. after spending 175 dollars with auto tip 18 percent, i will let everybody know don't go ! read more

She offered me a thorough explanation on how to eat crab and was attentive throughout my meal. The crab was incredible. They offer butter, vinegar, and extra Old Bay to dip it in. The space is quite large, and I think if you come near opening time, you should be good, even with a larger group. We ordered 8 jumbo size crabs, 1/2 lb steamed scallops, a soft shell crab, old bay fries, and fried pickles. This ended up being good for four people, but I think I definitely expended a lot of energy trying to eat the crabs, and left less full than I thought I would be. The steamed crabs themselves were very tasty once opened, but the journey there was difficult and messy. I scratched up my hands a lot and got crab shell pieces in my hair since a dining partner was a bit too smash-happy with the wooden mallets they give you. Definitely recommend asking for gloves unless you're a pro. Two crabs took me almost two hours to eat, heh, but I was quite meticulous. The crabs are very salty since they are heavily caked in old bay and salt. If you're concerned about salt, it should be ok as long as you brush that coating off before eating. I also found that I didn't need the butter or vinegar, and the crab was perfectly tasty on its own. Apologies to the server who brought over a bunch of both and probably saw that we didn't use much of them! That same server kindly showed us how to properly eat the crab and did a nice demonstration, but I was sadly unable to reproduce his results (I think his hands were secretly made of steel). It was definitely helpful, though. Both the steamed scallops and the soft shell crab were very solid. I was pleasantly surprised by how good the fried pickles were, too. Just a small patty (maybe 1/4 lb) and a bun. Very much a fast food-style hamburger. Parts of the neighborhood is residential - maybe we got lucky with finding parking quickly? The weather was a beautiful spring day so we sat outside. They put down butcher paper on the table right away. We ordered drinks, one large crab, and Caesar salad with crab cake. The salad was just okay - dressing was a tad bit sweet and didn't taste Caesar-y. But the romaine was plentiful and fresh. The crab was good! I'm used to the Dungeness which are larger and taste a little different. The blue crab was good, it was just a lot of work for a little crab meat. Service was very good! Clean bathroom to boot. I was in Baltimore for an appointment on a late summer day and was in the mood for crabs, so I thought, why not try this place since it's been on the list to check out for some time? The service was excellent & I was offered inside or outside seating on the deck. I chose to sit inside. I ordered a Shirley Temple, shrimp and onions, and half a dozen large males since that was the biggest size. About 10 minutes later, I overheard the waitress tell some other patrons that they now had XL crabs, so without hesitation, I ordered a 1/2 dozen of those, too. The steamer shrimp came out, and they were pretty good. The crabs were heavy and meaty, but to my surprise, they lacked flavor. I didn't have crab sauce, so I paired it with butter and crab seasoning to boost the flavor so I could eat them. While dining, I met some charming patrons. We had a great conversation, and all the staff were very friendly. Everyone provided excellent customer service, especially my waitress/hostess, whose name I'm embarrassed to say I forgot. She was super sweet, attentive, and very welcoming. I wish I could request to have my crabs steamed in beer and the crab seasoning, which would give them just what I believe they were missing. Quick, fast and on point with food and service. Nothing fancy here, but if you're looking for a seafood meal without a huge hit to the wallet, this is it! They have seafood combos and also individual seafood (like 1 crab) to fit everyone's needs. There's not a lot of surprising flavors nor taste, but the seafood is REALLY fresh, so there's really no need for anything. We ordered the seafood combo with extra crabs and of course the crab cake (80% is just pure crab meat).
