Orange Roughy - Mashed Potatoes - Broccoli

We met two other couples for an early dinner at Schultz's. We knew it would be quieter and give us a chance to visit and catch up, which we did while enjoying delicious food. I know it sounds odd to order a club sandwich at a seafood restaurant, but that is what my husband ordered, and I have to tell you Schultz's makes a killer club sandwich - you have to try it. It is loaded with ham, turkey, bacon, American cheese, lettuce, tomato and mayo on white toast. It came with two sides - he chose French fries and Cole slaw. I enjoyed the Shrimp salad platter with a baked potato and a garden salad with blue cheese dressing. Our friends had the Hot Roast Beef with gravy dinner with mashed potatoes and pickled beets, another Shrimp Salad platter with macaroni salad and applesauce, Orange Roughy with mashed potatoes and broccoli, Haddock strips with potato salad and Cole slaw. The same goes for the Hot Roast Beef - it is really good - has a wonderful flavor to the beef gravy - who knew! The portions on all of our dishes were so generous. The food is always freshly prepared, filling, and flavorful.

Hello it was always one of our greatest times to come to schultze... we always enjoyed the food but today was particularly expensive. we come in for lunch and my friend ordered for oysters to come to find out the price were $35 for four oysters...known for their crabs they did not have any steam crabs today but at the same time I got the grilled chicken and it was great.

Inside it looks like it is a pub, with pool. It was quite packed. Not much room to wiggle around. Food is ok. The wings are a bit dry. Crab is quite small. I thought I ordered medium as it was in the middle of the list. But since it cost $37.50 for 6, I guess the price justify the size. The bisque was very heavy. I got full just earing the crab bisque. Kids love the chicken nuggets, but not the fries nor apple sauce. Waitress is very attentive. (+1). Kept asking if we need anything. However, I saw that a lot of tables have free bread, I asked for it. They said it only comes with platter. (-1). Not sure if it was good as it look very white, and there were a lot of unfinished bread in other tables. I thought it would be great to eat with the bisque. Oh well...

This is just a beautiful, well established restaurant in the community. We went for a weekday lunch, a Tuesday for the $3 off steamed shrimp...med or jumbo, you choose I chose the jumbo, and they were nothing less than jumbo. My received plate had 15. Cocktail sauce and onions. It was fantastic and worth the wait. My husband ordered the shrimp salad (cold), and it came with 2 sides. Since the macaroni salad was not ready, he had double potato salad. It was good. The hiccup came when his dish was cold. It was served nearly immediately, and I had to wait for mine to be steamed. It resulted in a huge problem of 2 meals out of sync at the same table. He was finished with his, and I was still waiting. To me, this is a major irritant. We are there together to eat lunch together. Deleted comment. All the food was top-notch, the timing, way off, a server should know better. We will try again and will speak up if the cold vs hot arises again.

Man o man, if your ever in Essex, make it your justice to stop in Schultz's just once for some crabs. Established in 1969, Schultz's is a classic Baltimore seafood staple, that specializes in delicious home-made entrees and Chesapeake style crab cakes. What I love about this place is that you feel right at home. The food and service was phenomenal. We mainly came for some crabs last Sunday and they were nice and hot and beer was good and cold. It was 4 of us, so we just did 2 dozen crabs which was plenty for us, along with a plethora of other bites such as the steam shrimp, the crab fluff, their Maryland crab soup( not pictured) and the snickers cheesecake( not pictured) but was also delicious. And their price point for crabs was right on the money, with the current inflation with everything, Schultz's is the way to go for crabs. I will definitely return whenever I'm in the Essex area. Until next time

Schultz's has been around since the late '60s, and they offer various apps (hushpuppies, hot cheese balls, coconut shrimp, loaded rounds, etc.), raw items, soups, salads, sandwiches, platters, seafood specials, various sides, and even kid options. The hubs and I came here for an early dinner, and, honestly, I was pretty excited! We ordered: +Crab Pretzel (I wasn't really a fan of the crab dip; the pretzel itself was just okay) +Fried Mushrooms (probably one of the best fried mushrooms I've had! Large-sized juicy mushrooms with the perfect crispy batter; a side of ranch sauce was the perfect complement!) +a double order of Jumbo Lump crabcakes (really good crabcakes! Hardly any fillers in here - they were meaty, flavorful, and so good!) +an order of large-sized steamed blue crabs (meaty and delicate, the Old Bay seasoning blend that they used was quite delicious; don't forget to ask for some vinegar and extra seasoning to dip your meat in Service was so welcoming and friendly, and the atmosphere is quite relaxed. There are two entrances to this place, where one goes into their bar area, and the other into their dining area; it doesn't matter which one you go through as they're both connected. Looking forward to coming back during the season! Plenty of free street parking in the residential area. +tasty crabs! +great crabcakes! +delicious Fried Mushrooms! +friendly staff! +plenty of street parking in the residential area

    What is "a seafood cake?

I am not sure. I would call the restaurant and ask. Enjoy!

How much is their crab cake and one dozen medium steamed blue crabs?

I don't know the exact price for either!! My apologies!

Our server was the bartender and she was pretty attentive. I ordered an ice pick to drink (vodka and tea). There was hardly any vodka in it lol. White claw flavors are limited - only black cherry and lime. Fortunately they have surfside tea. I ordered hush puppies which were delicious, but they were served with a little container of cold butter spread? I would have thought they'd serve with melted butter. I also got an order of wings and they weren't that great. So much breading, not really hot, and not cooked crispy like I asked. Prices were very reasonable though. Overall it wasn't a bad experience, but nothing amazing.

Huge tv's hugged the upper walls, grabbing the attention of patrons. Honestly, I was bored by being pummeled with sports. The young lady behind the bar said to sit anywhere, all there were was the hightops and bar stools, we prefer a low table, there were none, maybe way in the back where no one was seated. She brought over the 2-sided menus, I asked what they do well here, as it was our first visit. She made her recommendations, and my husband got the cheesesteak sub with French fries (upcharge). I ordered the chicken wings with ranch and celery (8 for $10.95), not bad! She said they were good here, also the hamburgers , I can't remember what else they do well, other than the crab cake. We did not order anything with alcohol, so I am at a loss there. They do have beer on tap and bottles. The cheesesteak was good, fresh roll and tasty meat. The fries were as expected, nothing outstanding. Just good for bar food. My chicken wings were not puny, just normal size and market value, had them made to be mild. This came with celery (quite fresh and crunchy), the ranch was poured off into a plastic cup. Both orders came in plastic baskets, and a paper plate for bone discard. Plenty of napkins. Have to hand it to them, in-between sports, they played music and they sure do have a kicking stereo system, really great quality. It was a welcome break. She did visit once to make sure all was Ok and any needs. All was fine. The bill came , I checked it and gave her my cc, she returned and the bill was altered and the price of the cheesesteak went up $3! Honestly, I did not say anything or check the bill against the menu, which was put away. I just chalked it up as an oversight on the server's part. She did not say anything about the price adjustment either. I can understand a mistake in the charge. Just say something. I guess I am overreacting at this point. Sigh.

(Well that's actually what I did.) and when I said that's actually what I did. The hostess looked at me and said "well you don't count" smiled and then she then sat me. My server, Leslie greeted me. I ordered my food (crab and lobster egg rolls), and a glass of the house white wine (a yummy Pinot Grigio) to pair perfectly with my seafood egg rolls. The interior was bright and open with bronze and wood accents The wine came out about five minutes later and then I proceeded to wait for roughly 30 minutes for the appetizer that was meant to be my entrée to come out. the appetizer came out hot and fresh, chock full of lump crab and lobster laying on a bed of the Asian slaw.. shoo mercy, everything tasted great, but by then my wine was empty. Parched lil bit. I opted for the strawberry cheesecake. (Shout out to Yia Yia's bakery, y'all know your desserts!) So it cost me $10-15 to for a plastic takeout container. Had I not looked at the customer copy of the bill I would have not only not known but I would have tipped based on the total which already included the additional gratuity charge (which was not disclosed on the merchant copy). This is so unnecessary and ruined what would have been a good experience. They said it was a "sharing charge" which I have experienced and applies when u have another diner with you and u decide to split an entree. Had they disclosed I would at least had the option to finish the meal. The saying "stepping over dollars to pick up pennies " seems to apply as this left such a bad taste I doubt I will return despite the fact the crab cake was delicious and the loaded baked potato was average (hardly loaded) Beware of the hidden gratuity for take home leftovers!!! Update to above: I did follow up with Angie this morning and she was very kind and offered to credit back my card for the extra gratuity. She also explained that I was misled about the "sharing charge" but they do automatically add 15% gratuity regardless of party size or quality of service. So I would give 4 stars for the food quality and 1 star for the way in which they present and charge gratuity. Tipping should remain at the discretion of the diner based on service and food quality otherwise just get rid of tipping and raise your prices
