I randomly stumbled on The Mill and I'm so happy I did! We had a wonderful birthday lunch for my mother with my 1 & 3 year old today. Each of us had a Caesar salad. I had salmon on mine, and she had shrimp. Absolutely cooked to perfection! The boys enjoyed chicken tenders and grilled salmon along with icecream. My favorite part of my lunch was the jalapeño margarita! Had I not been with my children I so would have ordered more! The bomb! Highly recommend The Mill! read more

The Mill - Hershey - Jalapeño margarita. Amazing. - New American Near Me - Hershey, Pennsylvania

This place was good, just unsure of how to cook steaks but good. I had the pear and walnut salad to start and the filet with mashed potatoes and green beans. The salad was wonderful. Flavorful and well seasoned. The mashed potatoes and green beans were great which was a surprise because in a lot of places like this the sides are often overlooked. I ordered my filet rare. It was grill marked and sent out. It was basically raw. Outside was cold and inside was ice cold. I wouldn't mind the cold inside if it was hot on the outside. The Demi it came with was more of a purée than a sauce. My husband had the mushroom bisque, he didn't like it he said it tasted like dirt, I think it just tasted like butter but it still wasn't good and I assume a lot of people don't like it because when our server came by he immediately asked if we didn't like it and he took it off our bill which was wonderful of him to do. I shared my salad with him and he agreed the salad was wonderful. He also got the rib eye rate with horseradish potatoes and green beans. The horseradish was very present and very good. Green beans again very good. His steak was the same as mine ice cold inside with just grill marks on the outside. If we were to return we would probably get some of the less fancy items as it seems they try very hard with their upscale items but fall short. Our server was wonderful and he was very helpful and checked in on us often. read more

I've been here twice for business purposes. Excellent, excellent, excellent. I can't say enough about the service or the food. Last night we ordered numerous appetizers. The brussel sprouts were to die for - honestly. They were that good. The squash and brussel sprout flat bread - amazing. The hummus was so smooth and delicious. I ordered the Arctic Char under the suggestion from a coworker and actually prefer it over salmon. It was moist and just absolutely delicious. The grits that came with my dinner were not instant by any means - also creamy and delicious. The green beans were made in a way I never had before. I left there a very happy (and full!) girl! I'll be back for sure. read more

Just picked up our Mothers Day Bakers Dozen. Huge disappointment!!! The muffins look like a 3rd grade baking project! Miniature macaroons and biscotti. UPDATED REVIEW: After the manager contacted me personally and sent a gift card to try The Mill again, we gave it a second shot. Much better experience the second time. We made a reservation this time so didn't have to wait when we arrived. Service was a bit slow cause our waitress was working a 16 person table alone in addition to ours but it wasn't terrible. Food was pretty good, although at their price point it leaves a bit to be desired. The restaurant itself has a nice ambiance and made for a pleasant dinner. ORIGINAL REVIEW: Extremely disappointed with our visit especially after reading all the amazing reviews. Came in on a slow Sunday night and were told since we don't have a reservation it would be a 15-20 minute wait...but there were plenty of open seats so that was strange. So we sat at the full service bar. He drinks seemed overpriced so we did not get one. Ordered the salmon wrap (that comes with potato salad) and my boyfriend ordered a burger. A few mins later the bartender says they're out of burgers... so he had to order something else (he chose the fried chicken and waffles). Then another 5 mins later she came back and said they're out of potato salad so my substitutes could be side salad, mashed potatoes or fries. Not what I wanted but I went with the side salad. Food was okay but small portions for the price. Fast forward after eating and we get the check and the price for chicken and waffles was $2 higher on the reciept than listed on the menu. Worst part was the bartender seemed annoyed when we had her check, cause she had to have the manager make a price adjustment. OVERALL a disappointing experience please just go to Troegs about 5 mins away for your "farm to table" appetite. Much better food, excellent brews and friendly service. read more

My wife and I celebrated my birthday here last night and it was our first visit. We were seated in the second floor dining room, which was an atmosphere of elegance and rustic charm as well. Our server was very cheerful and knowledgeable of the menu as well as the history of the building. I had the fillet mignon and my wife ordered the sea scallops. Both entrees were delicious! We certainly will be back to try other dishes . Service, food and atmosphere were all top notch ! read more

The Mill hosted an event for my family. The food was fantastic. The service was impeccable. The event coordinator was extremely helpful and available leading up to and during the event. I highly recommend the mac & cheese people couldn't get enough of that in the firecracker shrimp. read more

I have been at this restaurant fo both lunch and dinner and both experiences were good. Our most recent meal was dinner. The brie with walnuts, apples, caramel and bagel chips was a nice appetizer. The she crab bisque was disappointing, no crab and no sherry. My wife had the crab cakes for dinner. They were delicious and the vegetables were nice but the citrus polenta had way too much Lemon. It was barely edible. I had the scallops. They were perfectly prepared over a bed of lobster risotto and vegetables. The risotto was not cooked properly and had no lobster but the rest of the dish was good. For dessert my wife had the peanut butter pie and it was simply amazing. I had the pumpkin cream brûlée which did not have a good texture. It was mushy. I was disappointed that their cocktail menu did not include offerings from any of the local distilleries. When I asked the bartender if they served any local distilled spirits she pointed me to the beer menu. I would expect a bartender should know the difference between beer and distilled spirits. The food and experience was good but they have some areas for improvement. I feel the price was a bit high for the overall experience. read more

Our first trip to Hershey and this made our list of favorites! Great service from the entire team and Scott was extremely helpful and patient with our family. Awesome portions and delicious food (mill Mac and cheese, crab cakes). Our kids typically won't eat chicken fingers but this was the first place they've devoured them. We will back again! Was nice to see how the staff all worked together. read more

I have been here countless times for a variety of occasions, from New Year's brunch, to bridal showers, to special nights out, to just because. I have never had a bad experience! The food is fantastic, the service is exceptional, and the venue is spectacular! I've had so many things on the menu, it's hard to choose a fave. I will say the Dirty Spicy Pickle martini is unique and delicious! The chicken and waffles are always hard to resist, and the mussels are some of the best I've had anywhere. Last night was my first taste of the oysters...and I LOVE oysters. These were fine. The flavor was fine, but every single bite had shell in it. In the shucker's defense, they were extremely flaky shells. Just couldn't get a clean bite. We were chatting with our server about it - not complaining - but she wanted to know what we thought, so we told her the shells kind of ruin the experience, ya know? Well, the manager took half of them off our bill, which we did not expect, but appreciated. The charcuterie was fantastic! And Justine is one of the best bar tenders in the area. There is also live music on Saturdays, and I've been there for that numerous times. It's always a good time! read more

This was a perfect treat to end a great day at Hershey! The food, service and atmosphere were amazing! We did feel like we were a little under-dressed but no one made us feel out of place, instead everyone made us feel right at home and well taken care of. There was a large variety of food options and everyone was extremely satisfied. read more

This place is a perfect balance between 5 star restaurant and local favorite. It's comfortably classy. A good indicator of a higher quality of food is a small menu. We arrived for the Sunday brunch menu which looked good but I wish I knew it was mostly breakfast food. Luckily there was basic non-breakfast things you could order. There was stuff (i *think* dried cranberries and nuts in my salad that I didn't know what it was but it tasted like nothing I'd ever had before. I was never adventurous. It also didnt need to be drowned in dressing to taste the dressing. I would say 4.5 after the burger, because it was dripping in grease and didn't have any remarkable seasonings on it but it wasn't bad. The fries that came with it were potato-cut chunks, real, seasoned good. It's easy to tell the difference between fresher ingredients vs mass produced/frozen/large menu places. I'm exited to go again during a dinner shift ! read more

We're frequent Hershey visitors but we never ventured out to Downtown Hershey. Wow! There are tons of great options. We came on a Friday night, we had a reservation but it wasn't too crowded. Food was amazing. I had the NY strip and my fiancé had the brisket. Desserts phenomenal. Take 5 Bread Pudding was out of this world. Our waiter wasn't bad but he also wasn't too personal, he didn't explain the menu or specials, but we had done some research before visiting so it wasn't a problem. Décor is very cute too. read more

We have been going to the Mill restaurant for the past few years & have recommended to friends. On Friday, June 21 st my wife & I had a terrible experience in the Mill during happy hour around 5:30. We ordered food from the bar menu, calamari & apple flat bread. I had put a couple slices of flat bread on a plate & was eating. Looked down and noticed a worm crawling from under my plate. We notified the bartender & a manager was called over. He was not concerned . We stopped eating the food & bartender took our plates. I believe the worm came from greens on the flatbread. We checked out a little later & found the food still on our bill. We complained to a different manager & food was removed. The whole experience was handled very poorly & unprofessional. We will never go back or recommend the Mill to anyone. read more

The Mill was a rustic looking place that had a nice look and atmosphere. We started with lettuce wrap appetizer which was tasty. The chicken was nice and flavorful and not dry. I just wish there was more of it. You only can put one strip per lettuce wrap. The tomato soup was good but a little too chunky for my taste. The duck breast seemed fresh but a bit over cooked. They recommend medium or medium rare but most pieces seemed to be over medium. The stars of the dish was really the vegetables. Whether it was carrots or asparagus the vegetables were fresh and crisp. I think I liked the vegetables more than the meat! The pork chop was also good but needed a bit more flavor. There was a complimentary basket of fresh bread which was really good. Service was excellent and generally very attentive. Food came within reasonable amount of time. I would definitely recommend this place if you're looking for something outside Hershey lodge. It's only about a mile away. read more

Great food, drinks and service. Really nice place! Took my friend there from out of town and she loved it!

Amy was an amazing waitress! She really handled the corny dad humor at our table with a professional and cunning attitude. The food didn't blow me away (that's probably on me for getting grilled chicken for brunch) but the service was definitely memorable. read more

We found The Mill after a long day of chocolate tasting at Hershey. We were able to walk right up on a Saturday and get a table. Restaurant was cozy and inviting. Initial service was prompt, though it seemed to take a little longer than expected to get the food we ordered (lamb meatballs and Caesar salad with scallops). Overall a good place to unwind after a fun day in Hershey read more

Pathetic!!! Ridiculously Overly priced for mediocre food 3 crab stuffed potatoes which i think they forgot the crab for $11 oh & the potatoes were the size of a golf ball Fish fry for $22 was greasy, salty & the size of a small hamburg. read more

Our food was fantastic, and our server was perfectly attentive. My wife and I shared appetizers. She ordered Bacon Wrapped Diver Scallops on Spicy Sambal Mashed Potatoes, Pea Shoots. I ordered Laquered House Bacon with Roasted Pear Salad, Truffle Sherry Dressing. Both were out of this world. For entrées: I ordered Chicken & Waffles with Whipped Potatoes, Brussels Sprouts, Onion Gravy. This is not something I'd normally order, but I saw it being served at another table before I ordered. It looked and tasted amazing. Although my stomach asked me to stop 2/3 into the plate, my tongue begged me to finish it. My wife ordered Maryland Crab Cakes with Citrus Polenta, Roasted Autumn Vegetables which she said was delicious but maybe the crab was a tad salty. Root vegetables were great. Citrus polenta was interesting, be aware there's a lot of citrus flavor. I also ordered a cocktail. The Jack Frost - Jack Daniels Peach Schnapps, Orange Juice, Cranberry Juice was soooo good. Although I nearly ordered the Low & Slow Brisket Baked Mac & Cheese, Broccolini, Black Pepper BBQ, Horseradish Cream, I saw other tables with it, and noticed the Mac & Cheese did not looked baked to me. read more

The atmosphere is nice because it is an old and well kept mill. The food, however, is much like you would expect from a Cysco truck. I first had a plate of calamari, which was ok for a landlocked location, but rather chewy and uninspiring. I then got the Angus Ribeye, but much to my dismay it had the texture of a Giant brand (local grocery store) steak. Very tough and not very indicative of a $50 steak. Mentioned it to the staff and they brought me another one of the very same bland flavor and texture. I suppose if you're in a tourist town you don't need to focus on quality. read more

They are supposed to be open until 11pm. We arrived at 9:52pm and they said that the kitchen was not able to accommodate our group of 8. Ridiculous! If their posted hours cannot accommodate customers, then they should change their hours. This was a completely lack of desire to serve customers. read more

The server was nice, the elderberry cocktail was good and the salad was fresh. We ordered the aged steak and the tomahawk pork chop. The steak was like chewing on rubber and the whipped potatoes were cold. The pork was extremely dry with absolutely no flavor. The only item we ate on our plate was the brussel sprouts. I had higher expectation considering the good reviews and the price. After paying $130 for two entrees and two cocktails, we left hungry. read more

My first experience at this restaurant was fantastic. The food was great, good service, great atmosphere. Tonight, my brother in law came at 4:30 in the afternoon and was told that they could probably accommodate our party of 6 at 5:00. Upon the rest of the party arriving by 4:45 we were told they couldn't in fact accommodate us. They had multiple reservations and would not combine two tables together. We could have a booth but would HAVE to be out by 6:00. My family left the more-than-half empty restaurant to go to somewhere else. I'm not sure with the negative attitude we have received if we will continue recommend The Mill. We were excited to share this restaurant for the first time with out of town family, only to be embarrassed and leave the restaurant. read more
