We came here for a quick drink before dinner. I saw all the prior reviews and needed to try Karl the Fog. The cocktails did not disappoint. The vibe and quick service made this a great hang out spot

I grew up broke and always feel like a fish out of water at posh places, so dining at The Lounge gave me some of the worst imposter syndrome. We came by for drinks earlier in the day before coming back with a reservation for dinner. The drinks were incredibly unique and watching them be made was an experience in and of itself. For dinner, my boyfriend got the Ritz-Carlton Signature Burger and I got the Farmers Market Salad with added salmon. The salmon was cooked to perfection and the salad was top of class in terms of what you'd want a salad to be, but even though this experience was months ago at this point I still distinctly remember craving an authentic Mexican burrito throughout the entire dinner. If you're anything like me, my advice is to have a big ol' burrito prepared in advance back at the room for the post-dinner dinner. Or maybe fill up extra during lunch? No shade to The Lounge or The Ritz, certainly the food quality was top notch, but if you're stepping into a different lifestyle by going to these places then I recommend having some backup food on hand.

A must have when we stay at the Ritz. The ambience is upscale but can come in casual and still have a 5 star experience. Stephanie is the best and Jennifer makes some great drinks. The Caesar salad with king salmon is my favorite.

The Lounge is truly an exceptional spot and has quickly become one of our regular go-to places. The atmosphere is welcoming, the drinks are consistently excellent, and the overall experience is always first-class. What truly sets this bar apart, however, is the outstanding service--especially from Jennifer C. behind the bar. She is an absolute professional and a rockstar at what she does. On our most recent visit, the bar was completely packed, yet Jennifer handled the crowd with remarkable efficiency, composure, and attention to detail. Despite the volume, she ensured every drink was prepared promptly and with the same high level of quality and consistency. It's rare to find a place that combines great ambiance, excellent drinks, and genuinely exceptional service. The Lounge delivers on all fronts, and we always look forward to coming back. Highly recommended.

The service was excellent and food was perfect portion...not too little, not too much. The fireplace set an ambiance to the room and the big floor to ceiling windows allow light during the day or views while enjoying your companions, family and/or friends.

The lounge is off the lobby of the Ritz Carlton Sam Francisco. It's super convenient place to have dinner if you're staying there. I made a note when booking our reservation it was for our 25th anniversary and they went above and beyond. We had the best seats in the house with a table next to a window looking out to the tall city buildings. Complimentary starters are served ( olives and chips) lived the salt! Our waitress (Victoria) was an absolute delight, so bubbly, always smiling and checked on us often. She bought us complimentary champagne, so we could have a celebration toast. We ordered the duck confit (served with smoked carrot puree, delicata squash and house made brandied cherries), signature burger and truffle fries. Everything was delicious. They have a really fun cocktail menu with drinks named after areas of the city. I ordered "Karl" - the name for SF fog. They make a fog bubble on the drink table side. Victoria even did a retake so I could get a video. After dinner we were brought a slice of chocolate cake with a happy anniversary inscribed chocolate piece on top. Such a memorable experience - everything was perfect! Thank you Ritz Carlton SF.

I visit the lounge fairly often, and the food here is always great. They offer seasonal dishes, so it's nice to try something new every time I go. The staff are all friendly and provide great service

Had a 3 night stay at the hotel and wandered down to The Lounge. Yes, it's pricey... it's a Ritz hotel bar, but the drinks were OUTSTANDING, the bar bites were appreciated, the truffle fries were hot, fresh and the best version we've ever had. The staff was attentive, personable, and truly seemed to enjoy their job. We had club lounge access upstairs with drinks included, but came down a few times because the drinks and atmosphere were stellar & if you stay at the hotel, it includes a $40 food & beverage credit. I a fall flavored old fashioned type drink with cinammon and dehydrated apple slice that was great for a fall day. Then had a normal old fashioned, which to be honest, was even better than the previous one. I also had a couple gin martinis during out stay & gotta admit, that was the best martini I had in SF during our stay... & I had several from several different bars and lounges. My wife had the Karl the Fog drink and loved it so much she just kept getting them over the rest of our stay. Overall, great experience & not nearly as pricey if you're staying at the hotel. Would definetly return.

Probably the most I've ever spent on cocktails, but you only live once! Food is also really good, but you're really coming here for those special drinks. I've had better for cheaper, but it is in the Ritz. Overall a memorable experience, but not sure if it was worth every penny.

Dinner menu at The Lounge at The Ritz-Carlton in San Francisco.

When meals are as wonderfully served as they are at The Lounge, then it is a memory that will be cherished forever. Located within the first floor lobby of The Ritz-Carlton in the heart of San Francisco. Just north of the city's Chinatown neighborhood along Stockton Street right above the infamous Stockton Street tunnel, The Ritz-Carlton San Francisco is a little oasis among the city's chaos and that is proven by the view of the city's skyline directly against one side of the wall of The Lounge. Upon approaching The Lounge especially since its entrance is directly opposite their front doors, one would consider this restaurant the main bar and restaurant of The Ritz-Carlton, and they would not be incorrect, as they have another restaurant Parallel 37 that serves brunch and is reserved for private events, and a terrace that too is used for special events. So when my group of friends and I came for a business meeting to tour The Ritz-Carlton, where else would we dine for an elegant and refined lunchtime meal but The Lounge? Elegant doesn't even come close to our experience as every detail from the meal to the overall service was top notch. The lunchtime menu at The Lounge is separated into categories including Appetizers, Salads, Entrées From Land and Sea, and Sweet Treats. Since our group of seven was quite famished we decided to split a couple orders of their Truffle Fries which were topped with Parmigiano-Reggiano, Truffle Oil and Shavings, and Parsley and served with a Jalapeño Aioli and their own house made ketchup. To enhance this first course, every table is presented with a complimentary serving of potato chips and olives for good measure which only adds to the customer first mentality at The Lounge. Although many of their lunch time menu items sounded so delicious, there was something about their House Made Cavatelli, which was topped with Spicy Kimchi Tomato Sauce, Goat Cheese, Breadcrumbs, Basil and Bonito Flakes that sounded so authentic and regal at the same time that I and many of my dining mates also decided to order this as our main meal. Others in my dining party ordered their Mary's Organic Chicken Breast which was served with Braised Kale, White Truffle Infused Bean Ragu and Shaved Summer Truffles; Pacific Yellowfin Tuna Tartare which was topped with Ginger Soy, Tarragon Aioli, Nori Oil and served with Puffed Rice Crackers, and their Local Market Fish, which was a beautiful halibut served with a side of vegetables and tapenade. The Truffle Fries were the perfect way to start our meal as both the ketchup and aioli were lovely side condiments, and the complimentary chips and olives were such a thoughtful touch that we could not wait for our main course. That main course was a lovely pasta dish that was plated with intention, and served with such aplomb as I tried my very best to savor each bite. I was able to try a few bites of my dining mate's Tuna Tartare with one of their Puffed Rice Cracker and I have to admit after some questioning upon seeing the plating, it turned out to be a lovely fresh dish that was flavorful and fun, which was unexpected. For our sweet treats, a fellow diner ordered their Hazelnut Affogato which was a generous scoop of Hazelnut Gelato topped with Cocoa Nib Crumble and Shot of Espresso, while I enjoyed a Americano, which was the perfect way to sip and savor a meal as wonderful as it was at The Lounge at The Ritz-Carlton San Francisco. Even though it's just the regular hotel restaurant and bar, it is so much more with the perfect service, in this case from the attentive Stephanie to the setting that simply shouts San Francisco from all of the hills from which it can be seen. Coastal California cuisine served with handcrafted cocktails named and inspired by the famous neighborhoods that make up this great city, The Lounge serves up a meal to savor and is a must visit for locals and tourists alike.

Inside the Ritz Carlton Lobby area . It worked out great since that weekend was also the Lunar New Year parade , we had reservations prior at STK steak house on Market St. we anticipated a lot of traffic and road closures along the way. Leo our Club Level Concierge suggested we dine down stairs at The Lounge, since we stayed in the Ritz Carlton for the weekend to avoid the hassle , for our sanity and convenience just to walk down stairs for dinner and stay dry from the down pouring rain . Leo our club level concierge help make reservations for us , while we continue with breakfast. ( thank you Leo) We had reservations for 11 our server Victoria were great , she recommended a few dishes for us girls to share and some drinks as well before our meal . Most of the ladies had "The Karl ". they all loved it and ordered a second round of that. I had their steak, only one choice on the menu, it came with a few slices of potatoes. Other side dishes are a la cart . Flavor of steak tasted delicious, cooked perfectly. The price was steep though $67

We took a pit stop here for dessert and drinks break post dinner and had a splendid time. first of all, alcoholic chocolate milkshake! quite addictive. the presentation with the whipped cream and chocolate rim was stunning. I don't exactly remember what was in it but I would love to get it again, a desert drink! the $20 signifier chocolate cake was rich and thick. the cake itself was not very moist, but stiff and firm. It balances well with the frosting. Not overwhelmingly sweet. But the thing that was the cherry on top was the orange cardamom syrup and crunchy chocolate balls. I enjoyed the complexity of flavors and textures. at the end of our stay, a group of people in crisp suits and dresses poured in and filled the air with conversations. most of the people looked very affluent and white. Felt very out of place as three young adults, but our server was super sweet and charismatic, we had a great time!

The food is very standard for a hotel restaurant. The service was a little slow, it took a long time for the waiter to come to the table & to get the bill at the very end as well. It was a decently spacious restaurant that had bar seating and table seating. They had two TVs at the bar. Overall, it's worth it if you're staying at the hotel and want to get food without having to leave, but I wouldn't come out of my way to eat here.

Karl the Fog after the bubble popped. It smelled like cotton candy when it broke. Delicious.

I was craving a refreshing craft cocktail and got one with the Green Emmanuelle. I liked the cardamom in the Beauty Mark as well that my partner ordered. We ordered shishito peppers and mushroom bahn mi sliders. However, the server very kindly removed it from our bill without us asking. We order the crostini because we were still hungry and that was an absolute hit. Drinks were decent. A larger group arrived to the left of us, and about 20 minutes after they arrived, the male service worker told us we had to move cause our spot was reserved. Mind you, we'd been there for almost two hours at this point and nobody had mentioned anything about our spot being reserved, and there was no sign holder indicating it either. It was also advertised as a "no cover" event, so curious to know how reservations were even made. He told us we could move over to the wall; which we discovered was right next to the restrooms and the line of users. Not cool. We then noticed that the larger group had spread out and taken our spot; were we supposed to believe these were the supposed "reservation" holders and not just your friends?
