My partner had this bookmarked for awhile for the next time in SF. After dinner at Bourbon Steak we took a short walk down to Elements. Since it was raining hard and we didn't have umbrellas we tried to get Lyft. The Lyft gods came back with a message the pick up point and drop off point were to close to each other. So we walked. Luckily the rain mostly let up. It's a little difficult to find, so need to keep track of the address's on the street. There are multiple establishments at this address. ONE65 resturant is on the ground floor and is the entrance to the other places via a narrow corridor leading to an elevator to the other places including Elements. Exiting on the 4th floor to a dimly lit space we found a seat on a low couch and nice table. Service was prompt and my partner went totally off the reservation and ordered a cocktail based on Japanese whiskey. Normally she is a vodka girl. Me, tequila, as always. 2nd drink for her she went back to vodka in a Lemon Drop. Me, more tequila. Place reminds me a little of Dirty Habit and that's a good thing. It's a very intimate place to bring your date. We were both very surprised the number of people not there. Granted it was Valentine's night and maybe peeps weren't into the bar lounge scene and it was raining. Another major plus is the awesome upbeat music. Just before we were getting ready to leave a young lady appeared and brought over a bouquet of a dozen roses for my partner. Great night and great place to end our Valentine's Day celebration. Tried a couple drinks -One Of A Kind, requested less sweet. Tasty - sweet and tart and tropical, with a little spice! Didn't really taste the meczcal. -Madagascar Twist - perfect as is, not too sweet, more balanced and sophisticated drink IMO Negative was we waited a long time. The bar was pretty empty, just a few groups around 6pm on a Thursday. My friends got there early before our dinner reservation at Alexander's and ordered a few drinks. We ended up 15 mins late for our reservation because the bartender took forever. He must have taken over 15 mins to make 3 drinks, missed a 4th, and the longer to make the last drink. Half of us went to the table while the others stayed to close out the bill, it was taking so long. read more

I had Elements bookmarked as one of my try-next-time-we're-in-SF spots, and we got our chance after our Valentine's dinner at Bourbon Steak nearby. Nice spot! RB and I were both surprised there weren't more people in on a Saturday night. Service was excellent, welcoming right off the bat. Creative cocktail menu, with an 'elements' theme of air, wind, fire, and water. I tried one of their bourbon-based craft cocktails (don't remember the name, unfortunately), and it was excellent. Just potent enough and well-balanced. Great music selection, sexy and upbeat. Open late, which was awesome and therefore we didn't have to rush - why can't East Bay spots master this art of staying open, instead of rolling up the sidewalks at 9pm?? Then, to make a great night even better, a beautiful young lady approached me out of nowhere and handed me a bouquet of red roses - I kid you not. I was floored. As jaded as life and urban living has made me, it is a rare and special occasion when I am genuinely surprised at the kindness of a stranger. Thank you for the roses and act of kindness, beautiful stranger, I will not forget it. What a lovely end to our night. Definitely recommend this nice bar/lounge for a night out on the town in SF's Union Square. read more

While on a weekender with the hubby, we found this bar near our hotel. It is on the top floor, very clean, comfortable seating, good size for small to big groups, has a nice speak easy ambience and nostalgic decor. We sat at the bar and the bartender was really friendly. He made good recommendations for both food and drink. We went during happy hour and was not disappointed. Here is what we had... Charcuterie board - I liked everything on the board it was perfect for pecking while having good convos and drinks Oyster - although small, they were so delish. To get access to the lounge you enter inside of one65 and go to the elevator and you'll take the elevator to the lounge. There wasn't any people inside when we went, we stopped in for a drink before we went to a show nearby. The inside of the lounge is really nice. I've always wanted to try this Bar & Lounge because I love the patisserie on the first floor (same company). I finally was able to stop by with a dear friend of mine. It's happy hour so we ordered a few rounds of food and drink. We have: Madagascar Twist: so beautiful and unique. Taste a little smoky almost but in a good way. Oysters: we had two rounds of oysters a total of 15 (important info later lol) it's small in size but big in flavor and so tender. Delicious. Beef Tartare Bite: the puff and tender beef textural contrast is chefs kiss. Would definitely order again. Hamachi shot: good balance of flavors. Not meant to be taken as a literal shot. Yea that was not demur of me.. Cod Cromesquis: nice thin fried layer. That subtle crips and soft inside is beautifully done French Spritz: kinda like a Aperol spritz so you can't go wrong with that. Parm truffle fries: the fries are perfect. Great texture and good flavor We were accidentally up charged $34.5 but luckily I caught it and it is kinda fixed. What happened was. I ordered a floral fixation for myself after tasting my friends. But 30mins later, it never came and we realized they probably forgot about it. It's late we are just gonna pay and leave. When we receive the bill we see the floral fixation that never came was charged. So I pointed it out. One server was trying to argue that it was correct. I had to count all the drinks with them to "prove" it never showed up. Because that was a big distraction we didn't notice they charged for 20 oysters when we only ordered 15. I realized when I was driving home so I called to fix the issue. The lady was nice about it and said she will fix it. so the next day I saw a price adjustment of $6.49 (when 5 miss-charged item cost $7.50) at this point a dollar is not even with my time anymore lol. The ambiance is cool and vibey which I really like. Service is overall really attentive and servers are checking on us and see if we wanna order more things. Their specialty drinks are aesthetic, inventive and tasty. Bites are delicious too. I would come back even after all these headaches. Bookmarked this place for a while, finally got a chance to try out during my stay in SF. We came after dinner late , kitchen was closed, so we couldn't try their food. Service was ok. Music was not too loud, Ambiance was like semi elegant bar, classy bar, not WOW. Drinks were just OK for the classy espresso martini, when it comes to a more fun cocktail choice, we ordered the one with bubble, it was fun, but you get them everywhere, nothing really surprising, taste was not for me, we couldn't finish neither of our drinks before leaving this place. Came in here for a drink and some light bites before a show at The Golden Gate Theater. I made reservations for 5:30PM, arrived at 5:10 or so, however when I walked in the man at the door near the pastry shop was extremely helpful! Greeted me, told me how to get to the Bar and Lounge. When I went up, the atmosphere of the place is beautiful. I guess they were having an event so none of the waiters or hosts greeted me, but they did have a sign saying "Please go to bar to be seated" so that's what I did. Sat continuously with no help, there were maybe 4-5 waiters wandering helping other folks. The customer service was horrible; I was going to leave until my second party got there. We ended up ordering, mediocre food, even worse service. We were not attended to and had to get up multiple times to even pay the check. Will not be returning. Not sure if it's because I am a woman of color, it seems like other women of color have left bad reviews about customer service because they were ON TOP of serving and assisting other customers who were white. As soon as we neared the entrance we were greeted by a man who took us inside and to the elevator, he pushed the button and sent us up to the lounge. As soon as I walked in i said 'WOW" its absolutely gorgeous inside. Dark, intimate and very glam. Quiet so you can have a conversation and hear the other people you are with. The bartender was very friendly and respectful. We ordered drinks and food, all of it great. It's a great space for a special occasion, or to impress. They have their own specialty cocktails as well as a good list of wines, beer etc. There are small plates to share and they were very tasty, this is not typical bar food, it's restaurant worthy. What a lovely bar! Found myself here with a friend visiting from out of town. We found it by chance since we were walking to a parking garage, but the music and energy called us in. The crowd was typical, 30+ professionals out on a Friday. The bar was busy, but the bartenders were keeping up with the orders. Since we sat at the bar, I got to watch the bartender work and after ordering a very well made bourbon manhattan, I threw out an older cocktail and the bartender knocked the slow Gin Fizz out of the park! What fun cocktails and amusing snacks! My girlfriend and I thoroughly enjoyed Happy Hour at this dark lounge with urban ambiance. I loved the concept of a different atmosphere and style of cuisine on every floor. We had chosen Elements because we needed a handicapped accessible,place with easy parking options to meet up for happy hour. My foodie friend Barbara who was also on crutches approved of the menu. After parking at the Ellis O'Farrell garage next door, the concierge shepherded two of us into the elevator and pushed the button for the 4th floor. We were led to a comfortable booth with banquette seating and while waiting for our third party we ordered cocktails and truffle fries. I absolutely adored my Floral Fixation cocktail with Kettle One and butterfly pea powder as well as elderflower and citrus. It was gorgeous and the lavender rose ice cube enchanted us all. i dropped my purple rose into the floral, iced tea that we ordered( this was destination number one of two and we needed stamina as well as sustenance for the 80s themed birthday party that we were attending. Speaking of sustenance the fries were crispy, Wagyu meatballs were great and served along with a syrupy glaze that brought them over the top. The charcuterie board I would have skipped and was mostly prosciutto roses. I enjoyed the decadent paté, but the pickled vegetables in the center of the plate gave a yummy, vinegary pop of freshness. Service was attentive and the atmosphere was unobtrusive and comfortable enough to enjoy my amazing friends in their element. My husband found this bar on a weeknight randomly while we were looking for a quiet place to celebrate his recent job offer. At first I thought we were going to be stuck in a crowded elbow-pushing place (ugh!) but was pleasantly surprised it was actually quite empty and intimate. We had a bit trouble initially finding the entrance not realizing the entrance was through their patisserie shop. The servers were quick and friendly. Had a chance to check out Elements after walking around Union Square looking for a small bite. We recently had gone to O, and so we knew this building had something special it might offer to the lounge setting. Ambiance is dark, almost noir-ish, a tad more bold than the simple elegance of O. My wife loved the voluptuous pair of black and white chairs looking like something out of beauty and the beast. Didn't take long for an Instagram couple to sit down and have an impromptu photo shoot. Drink wise I'm sure they can do full bar, but the highlights are a pair of cocktails each representing one of the four elements. My wife enjoyed one from both air and water, the highlight of which was the Floral Fixation, which was well thought out and worth it's price. I happened to be having a dry week post birthday, so while I did not indulge in the drinks I definitely dived in on the food. We tried half the small plates on the menu and one of the seafood cocottes which I found is a small portion serving of cooked vegetables and protein in a mini cast iron pot. The cocotte was absolutely delicious, and so was the crab avocado tartine. Oysters were incredibly clean and well prepared. Wagyu meatballs were ok, but were a bit cold and the sauce lacking a bit of necessary spice/flavor. Service was friendly and my sparkling water was never empty. I appreciated that. This is a bar for a small group to come and unwind. It's an intimate lounge with a bar and some lounge seating. I came here after work to wait out the rush hour. I needed a place to duck into for an hour or so before jumping on BART to head home. They honored their happy hour through 630 which was great. I ordered two cocktails and they were amazing. Nice and refreshing! There was only one person on staff taking care of everyone, but it was a Tuesday evening so it wasn't too busy. Breagen was bartending and she was great company. She made good suggestions so I didn't have to think too much. I stayed for a few hours and the city had calmed down by the time I left. In what they say is one of the San Francisco's few upper floor bars, Elements Bar & Lounge represents a sophisticated destination bar serving an extensive range of cocktails, fine wines and whiskies in a luxurious, intimate setting, combined with a menu specially designed for the lounge allows for a selection of inviting bar bites that are specifically designed to enjoy with the specially created cocktails. I have wanted to come to ONE65, which represents their address on O'Farrell Street, for quite some time as their bakery and café on their first floor and their unassuming bistro on their second floor had been calling my name for quite some time now. But it was their cocktail lounge on their fourth floor that finally brought me here as a friend wanted to meet up for a cocktail and quick bite on a warm winter evening. The good news is that Elements Bar & Lounge is easily accessible from all corners thanks to their location close to the nearby Powell Street Bart station and a simple walk up Stockton Street and you're there as their brightly lit bakery greets you on their first floor. In order to get onto the elevator to get to Elements Bar & Lounge, they have a host that checks for vaccination status and then guides you up the elevator to the fourth floor. My friend was already waiting for me sitting at their dimly lit bar, and we were both surprised how little activity was going on inside the bar as we assumed that it would be more filled with customers waiting to head upstairs and try O' by Claude Le Tohic but as we sipped on our drinks and sampled a few bites, we were the only two customers for most of the evening, which made us sad as they have something really special here at Elements Bar & Lounge. We actually came in time for Happy Hour, which runs from when they open at 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. where they have a limited cocktail menu with some limited discounts of a few dollars on each drink and selection of draft beer and wine by the glass. The cocktail menu is broken up into four sections, Air, Fire, Water and Earth to represent the Elements, hence their name. But their Happy Hour menu had six cocktails on it, each sold at 15 dollars each. I selected their Floral Fixation, which featured Juniper Grove Gin, Ketel One Rose, Orange Blossom, Elderflower, Blue Pea Flower, Rose Hip, Lavender and Citrus, while my friend ordered their Lucid Dreamer, which featured Banhez Mezcal, Wild Huckleberry Shrub, Italicus Bergamotto, Mint, Aloe Tincture, Lime and Ginger Beer. Both cocktails were featured on the Air section of their regular cocktail menu and were intended to represent light and ethereal cocktails, and for the most part they lived up to their billing. To accompany our meal, we ordered from their regular menu, as Happy Hour only applies to their drinks. We decided that their Wagyu Meatballs which were served with a Teriyaki dipping sauce, their Cod Cromesquis which were served with a Garlic Aioli, and two dishes from their Cocottes section of their menu, their Cocottes of Seafood with spinach and wasabi and their Cocottes of Beef Ribeye with piquillos and natural jus were the way to go. Of the four the Cocottes of Seafood was the real star thanks to the pieces of scallops and lobster served in a small cast iron serving pot with all of the gravy and juices flowing throughout the entire dish. The Beef Rib Eye was just a little too fatty for us and the Wagyu Meatballs were surprisingly too bland and overcooked for us to really sink our teeth into. Overall, we had a wonderful time at Elements Bar & Lounge as the cocktails and service would have us coming back for me. The food, although somewhat disappointing, has us intrigued enough to want to come back for more to at least try the ONE65 Bistro & Grill on the second and third floors of this grand concept as that was more in our price point. Of course, if someone wanted to treat us to a multicourse dinner at O' by Claude Le Tohic and see why they deserved their Michelin star, well by all means we are game. Either way , San Francisco is lucky to have such an interesting concept for us all to experience. Where else can you get a coffee, pastry, cocktail, elevated bar bite, and high-end meal to remember all under one roof? Not many, and at Elements Bar & Lounge, it's just the beginning. read more

We made a reservation for a fine dining experience, for 8:30 pm, only to arrive to discover that last seating was for 8:30 so we were encouraged instead to eat in the Elements Bar instead of the 6th floor restaurant. Same Michelin star kitchen- we were told! This building has six stories. Make sure to book at One65 - on the 6th floor - if you want the dining experience For being a Michelin star eatery, we were underwhelmed. Menu was limited, salad too salty, chicken moist but not spectacularly tasty.. And the prices were high. Two martini, one glass of wine, one entree and a few small dishes came in at $200! read more

4.5 STARS I arrived 30 minutes early for our reservations at 'O By Claude Le Tohic so I dropped by Elements Bar & Lounge to grab a drink while waiting for my friend. As I stepped out of the elevator, I was like "Damn, it's dark!" which actually isn't a bad thing. Remember your clubbing days, when you're *emoji heart eyes* at every guy that walks by? Ok, nvm...I'm speaking for myself. That's until the lights turn on at 2:01 am and the tequila wears off... Anyhow, I think the guy sitting next to me at Elements Bar & Lounge could smell my desperation and scooted away. Tea time by day and bar/lounge at night, Elements is part of One65, a multi-level French dining hub in Union Square. Before you're allowed upstairs, you have to check-in with the host on the ground floor. The host enters your name into the system, then walks you to the elevator. I felt bad for the lone host because the process seems cumbersome if there's a line. A pack of she wolves in heat refused to follow the process, pushed their way through the host, and into the closing elevator with me. Geesus - it's a lounge upstairs, not Thunder Down Under! Thankfully, they didn't stay for a drink. I appreciated that the cocktail menu was small and concise with four themes - Air, Water, Fire, and Earth: https://bit.ly/2J4QOqD. Really cool how some edges of the paper menu was burned to keep in theme. Food is available from their 3rd floor Bistro menu. It was early (5 pm ish) and there were only 4 people there (2 customers were already drinking) but after waiting 20 minutes, my drink was still not ready. I told the server that I had to leave soon because my reservations upstairs were in a couple of minutes. She apologized and checked with one of the bartenders. She said, my cocktail will be brought up to me and it's on the house because of the delay. Thank you for making things right. The Light as a Feather, Stiff as a Board: Bimini Gin w/ citrus, pandan, lavender cream, egg white ($19): https://bit.ly/31U3pps arrived 10 minutes later to 'O. Not only was it beautiful, in a simple understated way, it was well-balanced and super delicious. I really liked the creamy egg white foam and the coconut-ty-vanilla-y pandan flavor. I was worried that the cocktail may taste like soap but I could hardly detect the lavender which is a good thing IMO. For my second cocktail, I went with one of my usuals, a Vesper: https://bit.ly/2N6Fvn6. Nicely chilled, smooth, and strong. For $13, it was a steal in Union Square and they didn't use any harsh tasting wells either. Elements is a great place to grab a craft cocktail when/if you're in Union Square. Milk punch review Captain's ration: Rhum jm single barrel, diplomatico select rum, cachaca,  coffee liqueur, hazelnut, rancio sec, clarified with milk Came in an interesting glass. A+ for presentation. I always like a coffee cocktail. The coffee flavor was more prominent than it read. They had another cocktail that had a clarified component. As opposed to the cocktail entirely being clarified, it had one ingredient clarified. They were out of it this time. Cocktails rotate on a seasonal basis and they didn't have a milk punch last season. Maybe check in seasonally to see if still present. Hope the tradition stays. read more
