We had sangria and a glass of wine. Food wise, we had charcuterie cheese and arancini. The cheese was excellent, soft and creamy, and even the pickled vegetables that came with it were crispy and yummy. Salami was also so good! Arancini had a great saffron flavor. Menu is a bit reduced, but perfect for a lounge. Sangria was smooth and punchy and my husband liked his wine. Very well staffed and every time we looked up there was someone asking if we needed something. Will bring my coworkers back for happy hour since we work in the area! A very fun place to go to and loved the design of the interior, very classy and clean. The night that I went had live music which later transitioned to a DJ for some great music. The staff were very professional and attentive. Security crew were nice, courteous and friendly which made the place feel comforting. Beautiful people go here and they all have great attitudes and look sharp in their outfits. This is one place that I would recommend if you want to hang out for drinks and people watch and mingle. read more

I've been going to and a fan of Press Club since they first opened in 2008! I've thrown birthdays here, celebrated friends' milestones, and now that I've moved back to the city, I've been coming every month for their live R&B events. SF is pretty casual - don't get me wrong, I love raging in jeans at an EDM fest and live in workout clothes, but I appreciate having a go-to place where I can get dressed up every now and then, sip on a glass of wine, and sing my heart out to live R&B from talented bands. The vibe is sexy, elegant and chic, and it feels like an elevated space where you can show up and be seen in the best way. I usually bring different girlfriends each time, but I have gone alone too and just end up meeting new folks who've become friends and regulars here too. I love wine and their wine is on the pricier side (a glass of Cab is around $25-$27 with tip). I haven't tried any of their dishes though. The staff is great - the manager even approached me and mentioned he's seen me at a few events, which made me feel really welcomed. If you're looking for more than just a glass of wine and want a full experience, I definitely recommend checking it out, especially on R&B nights. read more

One of my visits to Press Club was on a Friday or Saturday evening, and the attire was definitely more cocktail attire. Another time, I went during the day before a Giants' game. I was more dressed up, but saw others wearing shorts and jeans, so I think you could go a little more casual during the day. The ambiance is dark and romantic. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable about the wine. The wine and charcuterie boards are both delicious, and served quickly. There was no pressure to leave. The low seating is cozy, my only complaint is the oval tables don't fit all of the yummy things we ordered! read more

One of my favorite wine bars in San Francisco is the Press Club the stylish underground wine bar. This is a great place to unwine and enjoy a good glass of wine in the evening . I came here for an European Affair to chat with the Bay Area Friends of Europe about the latest happenings in Europe and San Francisco. I had to represent my heritage for the motherland Spain ( but I'm a proud USA and San Franciscan by birth guy). Everybody represented here from France to the Ukraine. Lots of the chat was around the bitter and sometimes sweet European wine with a bit sampling of course. I am more of a Northern California wine person so I had to do compare and contrast testing myself. Of course my first go to red wine is Pinot Noir and it was from the Salad Bowl region of California called the " Gularte". On the Press Bar menu the red wine was described as "The passion and joy Hunter Pence brought to the SF Giants in 2012"(Yes, Yes, I know the feeling). Yes, it was a sip of joy. Had to school a few people about Reverend Pence and the 2012 Giants .After another glass of the Gularte, I then headed to get something from Southern France a red wine called Castelmaure Col des Vents and the Press Bar Menu called it " Pure Fun". It was fire in a glass. Then I had to have a toast tribute to the motherland Spain with a Madrid red wine called Zestos Old Vine Garnacha. The Press Bar menu described this as " creates a beat in your head. "So Fresh & So Clean, Clean, Clean" Had to get a refill. Our group organizer had prepared two bottles of wine for us (one red & one white) & I opted for the white after hearing the description (it was a slightly fruity white wine from Portugal). After socializing for a while, I was feeling peckish & ordered the pork belly adobo buns. They were sooo yummy. Solid place to have a quiet meal and drinks after work. I visited last week with two colleagues who were in town for a conference. As the local, I was given the task of finding a place where we could decompress and have a quiet work conversation. I could not think of a better place than the Press Club. There was almost no one there when we arrived around 5:15 pm, and they seated us at a long table in the middle of the dining area, where we could spread out our notebooks and laptops. The server was very good - he carefully listened to our needs and suggested the right drinks and appetizers. I ended up choosing a Sangiovese (strong, chewy mouthfeel) and we shared the following apps: - roasted fingerling potatoes: these hit the spot, especially when dipped in the smoked paprika dip it was served with (this was so flavorful we asked for another helping) - chilled roasted broccoli Romanesque and cauliflower: served with delicious Chimichurri and crushed almonds - pork rillette: a nice meaty portion, slathered with sour cherry relish and with crostini on the side (we got extra) - buttermilk bathed popcorn chicken: this was another generous portion, and served with spicy N'Duja mayo Service and ambience were superb (it got a bit noisier as the evening wore on) and they were kind enough to charge my colleagues laptop. The hospitality here is like nothing else - Mo and the gang are the best bar staff I've ever known and I'm grateful they're here, grateful this wine list is so outstanding, and grateful for the moments spent with friends here over the years so far and to come. Most of the best bottles I've ever enjoyed have been here - there is such an array of unique and uncommon producers and grapes, something for everyone is on this list. The vibe is so spacious, comfortable, and high-end, but the bottles run the full gamut on price and can be quite affordable. Had a fun time here! It's a cool wine bar in Yerba Buena with a cool downstairs lounge. I came here with my friend for their 14th annual Harvest Festival and it was so fun to enjoy tastings from wineries from all over CA! They also had a live DJ that understood the vibe. It's such a chill spot; I can't wait to come back here. I also enjoyed the food that had: charcuterie board, Thai chicken lettuce wraps, and mini burgers. We had already committed but were treated with a wine flight upon arrival just to evaluate the place. Greeted, introduced to staff who would be helping with the event. Wonderful eve. doing pre-evaluation being entertained, wined discussing our plans for our party. "Mo" is the best bartender/host. We planned our menu of meat/vegan/veg options to cover all guests. Fantastic wine 2W2R1Bub was selected for us. We had open bar, casual wine-tasting selection of 5 wines plus other options as anyone wanted, N.A. options. Staff kept it all moving, clean organized and restocked. Nice lounge music playing, beautiful ambiance, snaking couch seating for public and private conversing, TV setup for memories slideshow. Stephen helped us extend the eve. at a flat rate discretely and we kept the party going. Mo kept us all served with any and all requests. This place was just slick! Our guests were ecstatic with the room, service, staff. We got so many comments like "Where did you find this place?" "Was it hard to arrange?, It's great!!!" The party size appropriately constrains some meal choices for platter sizes, and delivery presentations but my concerns about how things would be presented and served were all alleviated at the event. It all just worked out seamlessly. I was not sure how much staff would be available to handle setup, cleanup, refills etc. No worries, it all fell into place seamlessly like clockwork all based on party size and food we ordered. The venue is cheap and the food and drink elevates the cost but the food and drink choices seems to be appropriately staffed to fit the party options. Our guests were engaged, relaxed, fed, filled, and extatic. This place is a swanky one stop shop for a groovy eve./club like experience. I'd book them again in a heartbeat. read more

My first ever lounge area. Most of the drinking places I've been to are more bars, pubs, or breweries, but this high class atmosphere for a decent price is worth it. You can easily carry a conversation here, and it feels really nice. I came here with my friends around 8PM on a Saturday night. There were some spots available, and no wait. Free matches. We decided a sofa area to share with another couple instead of a table area, which was more comfortable. We ordered a Meat Chacuterie board for $22, along with a Sangria, a beer, and a sparkling wine. The board was decent and filling enough for all of us. The Sangria is what my friend loved, as she said they make it different from other places, and had a lot of ice. Its the atmosphere that makes this place. The food is well priced too and filling. Yup. This is the one and two. Made a reservation and was immediately sat after checking in. We even got to choose where we wanted to sit, so obviously we picked a nice corner away from everyone. Sooo many options! I'm huge on pinot noir and was overwhelmed because most places have shi**y options. But the Bouchard was good to the last drop. After well needed catch up with a good friend the bottle was gone and the charcuterie was devoured. The charcuterie, well I'm not really big on cured meats but the pate and mustard was right up my alley. I'm pretty sure I ate all the crostinis. What can I say, I'm still growing (sideways). First time I came here was for a networking event and I thought the event sucked but the wine bar is excellent! Their service is great, you can taste the wine before committing, and their selection is pretty decent with an emphasis on local wines. This makes it a great tourist spot as it's conveniently located between Powell and Monterey BART stations near market street. My only comment would be that I was under the impression they had a happy hour menu, but I don't think I saw it when I was there on a Thursday after work. read more

Another day in the city and another...date? Not sure but the vibes were all there. When I first arrived I was a bit confused as the actual venue is located downstairs. I walked in and there was a host stand but no host. There was an office with the door open and 3 people in the office. No response. So what did I do? I did what a normal late 20 year old would do, walked like I knew where I was going. Walked downstairs and was in awe of how modern and sleek the place was. Found the guy and enjoyed small bites and a wine flight. But I kid you not, within 20 minutes that place was packed...including the area that was preserved for private tastings. The wines were great but you know me, I care more about the food. Not disappointed at all -pork belly steamed buns and the mushroom aranchini - chefs kiss. The pork belly was perfect for those wines CONTROVERSIAL I KNOW. But man, I am telling you, that's a good place to start if you're looking at the menu. First time I cam was for NYE and I wasn't impressed at all. $40 per ticket and there was no where to sit, didn't offer the flights and the music was stale. It was hardly anyone in there and they had the couches blocked off so you had to pay to sit. They didn't decorate for the festivities at all. I left before midnight to spend it in my hotel because id rather bring in the New Years somewhere I was excited to be. Gave them a second chance last week and it was a bit more pleasant as I was able to have a seat and enjoy my wine and converse a bit before my dinner reservations. This time the entire bar had chairs and the couches was open for seating. Our server I cant remember her name but was sweet. Will come back more often. read more

Always a great time here and I always enjoy drinks and food items here. So happy that they also started making cocktails recently! Mohsen was our bartender and made amazing cocktails for my friend and I on a recent visit here. We explained to him what we like and he right away suggested to us the kinds of cocktails that we may like on the menu. I must say that he was spot on! We both really enjoyed his suggestions and the drinks were very well balanced and just how we like. We ordered them again cause we really liked them.
