    Grilled spicy chicken poblano club
    Helen H.

The bar is inside Hotel Adagio. We had $15 credit from the hotel to use for food or drinks. I wasn't too hungry, but my bf ordered the grilled spicy chicken poblano club. It was pretty tasty and came with a good amount of fries. The food came out quickly and the staff were friendly.

I met some friends here while waiting for our dinner reservations. The drinks were delicious. Service was reasonable but on the slow side. It was quiet here, but it was early. I would probably go back.

I was staying at the hotel here and me and my sister came down for something to eat. It wasn't great, the fries weren't cooked all the way through and the pizza was okay. But the people that work down there are nice and to be honest, I'd probably eat there again if I stayed at that hotel in the future. They have a lot of different options for a hotel restaurant!

I was meeting up a few friends for dinner and we had time to kill. Decided to check out the happy hour specials at The Mortimer. I arrived first on Thursday, April 11th around 5:45pm. I found a four top in the corner which ended up being the perfect size for the additional three who joined me later. Happy Hour: Daily 4-6pm *moscow mule: vodka, ginger beer, lime ($7) x2 *whisky sour: whisky, lemon, sugar, bitters ($7) *schrimsaw: pilsner ($5) They have a small HH menu with some apps, cocktails, beer, and wine. We went for the drinks above. I wanted something refreshing so I got the mule. I'm normally into spirit forward drinks, so this was on the lighter side. But I didn't mind as I wanted to ease into the night. The space itself is brightly light and not too crowded. I didn't have a hard time finding a table. Very chill if you just want to have a low key after work drink. And if you want some snacks, they had fries, guacamole, and deviled eggs, meatballs, and wings, ranging from $4-$8. If we weren't heading to dinner later, I would have definitely ordered a few things. Nice HH stop.

Super slow service but a good spot near the Curran Theater for a preshow happy hour of comfort food selections and cocktails. The wings were delicious in a dry rub, the garlic fries were next level minced garlic which I love, and the chips and guacamole were fresh and made on site. Would love to try their other dishes as well as the meatballs and fish tacos looked like great options as well. This place is more a bar than a restaurant so good luck getting help from staff.

La Bella Vita: Chamomile Infused Vodka, St. Germain, Rose Water & Champagne ($10). So good it tickled my taste buds!

Dear Elle, I would like to apologize for my drunk friend last Friday. Ok, my VERY drunk friend. He doesn't remember what happened but I do. I'M SORRY for the 16478436897425 questions he asked you. I'M SORRY for the goggley eyes he made at you. I'M SORRY for his peanut rant: "I want peanuts! Where are my peanuts? What you mean you don't have peaaaanuttttssss?...You're a barrrrr!" *grown man pout* I'M SORRY that he laid out a drunkie munchie buffet of Cheetos Puffs & Ruffles across the fancy counter and continued talking to you as crumbs flew out of his mouth. He's a really good guy, I swear to you...when he's s.o.b.e.r. I blame it on the Apothecary cocktail he had. *face palm* Thank you for putting up with his drunken shenanigans and being so kind about it. You're awesome and so are the handcrafted cocktails you made for us. P.S. - I'M SORRY that you missed out on his 6'2 frame body-slamming me into people on the street and his fistpumping in my face to dubstep as I drove his dranktard ass home. Sincerely, Cherylynn OTHER NOTES: *The Mortimer opened on 7.18.12 and was formerly Bar Adagio in the Adagio Hotel. *It's a Restaurant & Bar (flatbreads, filet mignon and mac 'n cheese are just some of the menu items). Located on the first floor of the Hotel Adagio, I arrived here late on a Friday night and stopped in for a drink and a bite to eat. I went with the Buffalo chicken sliders and fries. The sliders had just the right amount of spice. The bun was fresh and the slaw was a nice touch. The fries appeared to be hand cut and tasted fresh, which I always appreciate. Try the banana ketchup just for fun. Weird concept, but interesting. The happy hour from 4-7 only has 2 cocktail options ($7 each). If Sacred is bartending, order the gimlet. Deliciously refreshing. A perfect summer drink, and I don't even like gin, or cucumbers for that matter.

THE BEST old fashioned I have ever had.

Was visting San Francisco with my mom, just for fun and stayed at the Hotel Adagio for a few nights. Two of the nights we decided to grab a drink here and I'm very happy we did. The Old Fashioned here is THE BEST I've ever had. The first night we didn't get to see how it was made, but the second night we did and that experience in and of itself was worth 5 stars. The drink is fantastic. My mom got a glass of wine each night and was pleased (I don't remember what she got though). We did not try any of the food besides the fries which were much to my satisfaction extremely garlic-y. Pretty sure I still could taste garlic in the back of my throat after 24 hours but the fries were well worth it.

Drink menu with the incomparable Luis.

My wife and I always enjoy staying at the Hotel Adagio and beginning or ending our evening at The Mortimer. After our most recent experience, I can say we could spend our whole evening at The Mortimer. The drinks and service are absolutely amazing in large part due to the bartender Luis. His drinks are a true experience and a departure from standard hotel bar blandness. He's crafted drinks with butternut squash (and yes, it's really good) to themes from Harry Potter (the Goblet of Fire, a nod to the show playing at the Curran Theater a couple blocks away). He even gives a sneak peak at future concoctions like the Bananahattan, a bananas twist on the Manhattan that has a surprise ingredient you'd never guess. We not only enjoyed the amazing drinks, but the mixology lessons he also provided. He's a true treasure and talent. We look forward to our evening at The Mortimer, more amazing drinks and Luis.

It's ok hotel food, but way to expensive and a lot of better spots in the same area. It's just too easy to stay in the hotel and eat.

I was craving a refreshing craft cocktail and got one with the Green Emmanuelle. I liked the cardamom in the Beauty Mark as well that my partner ordered. We ordered shishito peppers and mushroom bahn mi sliders. The mushroom bahn mi sliders were amazing - the quality fillings and taste of the soft bun - I was unexpectedly hit with a bite of spice from maybe jalapeño seeds left but didn't sour my experience. The shishito peppers ended up being extremely spicy as well, those are usually just a few spicy and not the majority. The roasted lemon and salt was a wonderful combo but just too spicy to eat. However, the server very kindly removed it from our bill without us asking. We order the crostini because we were still hungry and that was an absolute hit. Delicious med-soft crostini with luscious berries and sweet honey. I didn't care my hands got sticky as it was soooo good! Great experience, I would be weary if the peppers as I'm a bit spice-intolerant but everything else was spot-on.

I think in many ways, Blind Pig just fell a little flat. I would like to say that the service here was amazing. A bartender who sat with you to talk about the menu, the process, and your experience very passionately and intently.  However, I think that the bar program is a little unrefined. Every drink had 10,000 ingredients, and most of them did not work together. If the drink did work together, you just tasted nothing because everything blended together and you couldn't taste any special or fun ingredients.  Unfortunately, I don't think this spot is worth looking for.

Seeing that it was named one of the top 50 best bars in North American, we had to check it out! We came in a Thursday night in mid-April about 9:45 PM. They have security outside thar checks IDs & also manages the queue in case the bar gets too crowded. We had no issues getting in, but there were zero indoor seats available - both the bar & table seating. Thankfully, they have a really cozy & well-lit patio area. The waitress let us know that even the outdoor patio has table-side service, so we made ourselves comfortable on the outdoor bench & within seconds she had brought us waters & cocktail menus. Weather outside was really nice, so I'm glad we actually sat outside. Each cocktail is $20, which definitely is a little steep, but I think the creativity, quality, & prestige of being named a top 50 bar supports the price. Each part of the menu is organized by liquor ie whiskey, vodka, brandy, gin, etc. We tried 4 drinks total. I only took menu photos of the pages we ordered from but they have a lot more selections. We ordered the Kung Fu Pandan, Silky Street, Rice Rice Baby, & Tropical Gangsta. We had some favorites over others, but all were very well crafted! The drinks came out pretty quickly considering how busy it was. The only hiccup was our final drink took quite a while. Turns out the ticket machine malfunctioned & deleted orders put in & caused a back-up. The waitress was so apologetic & ended up comp-ing 2 drinks, which she definitely didn't have to but it speaks volumes to the high standards they hold themselves to & their customer service.
