Here's a polished version of your review:…read more I didn't expect this place to be anything special at first--just another little hole-in-the-wall brunch spot. But I was genuinely surprised by how great the entire experience turned out to be. From the moment we walked in, the service was exceptional. The servers were kind, attentive, and made us feel welcome throughout the meal. The owner even came by our table to talk with us about the restaurant, their values, and the care they put into making everything from scratch. That personal touch, along with a complimentary dessert, really made the experience memorable. The food was outstanding. The chicharrones were perfectly crunchy and seasoned with just the right amount of salt. The salsa tasted incredibly fresh and paired well with everything on the table. The carne asada was cooked beautifully, developing a flavorful crust from the Maillard reaction, which gave it that rich, savory, slightly crisp exterior while keeping the inside tender and juicy. Overall, this was one of those restaurants that completely exceeded my expectations. Between the warm hospitality, attention to detail, and excellent food, it's a place I'll definitely be coming back to. If you're looking for authentic Mexican brunch with great people behind it, this spot is absolutely worth a visit. Also nice clean bathroom

They have outside seating with a ton of misters. I believe that you can stay cool but if you're worried about frizz and your hair, I wouldn't do it lol They have a happy hour until 5 pm EVERY DAY!!! And PLENTY of options which is much appreciated. We all enjoyed our drinks, pretty to the eye and going down the hatch haha (espresso martini not on happy hour-see menu) We didn't get food but damn their ribs smelt so good, I have to come back for that. Plus, you can still order ice cream and I think that's so amazing and they look like they have so many delicious flavors. I want to try that as well. Service was awesome and friendly. Our waitress came back around before the happy hour ended to get any last-minute orders and that was really appreciated. You don't get that often or ever. I love the feel of the bar. It has a classic fuel makes you feel outside of Arizona. You can definitely go on a date, catch up with friends, or enjoy the bar to yourself. This is on my radar to come back as soon as possible Cheers

The food options are great too. I ordered the fried chicken after hearing so many good things about it. Unfortunately, it was a bit of a letdown for me. After walking by this place for forever when taking the light rail to work and hearing how…read morewonderful it was, I finally stopped by. Casa shares Lobby space with the Luhrs Building, an amazing piece of PHx history. Great bathrooms and vintage lobby. I LOVE the Moxie and the inside of Casa did not disappoint. What a pretty setting. The small outside area reminded me of Queens NY places of memory with alley dining. It was too hot to sit out there today, but next time. I came at an off time so had the whole place to myself. I was also warned this is a pricey place and not your typical Mexican restaurant but more authentic and high end. Agree, No chips and salsa here. I ordered the Julia's Tacos. It was not what I expected. I was concerned at first because the first bite had a slight Chipotle taste and I am not a fan. But I realized the tacos were amazingly delish. Messy but good. lol Okay, the portions are small, high quality, and the place is pricey so not a place to go if you like large dishes of American style Tex Mex. I can see this place would not be for everyone with their smaller more authentic plates but it was great for me. The Menu does have a smaller amount of choices. The drink menu looked amazing. I DID not indulge but guessing lots of drinks get served here. I want to come back and try their Truffle fries. Also, chuckling at some of the other reviews. Who goes to DT and does not expect to pay for parking? You can take the Lightrail for 2 bucks one as a senior. Also, Citiscape is sketchy? The Moxie is a GORGEOUS vintage building and the area is just fine. Glad to hear they have live music, definitely coming back.

We had a party of 15 at Casa de Julia on August 16 and spent over $400. Unfortunately, the overall…read moreexperience was disappointing, and the follow-up customer service left an even worse impression. When I called ahead to make arrangements for our group, I was told that parking at CityScape would be validated. Based on that information, we arranged for our group to park there. What was not communicated to us was that the validation only covered one hour. By the time we left, our party had four cars and our guests had to pay an additional $40 in parking. The restaurant's Executive Chef later acknowledged in writing that the one-hour limit was not clearly communicated to us on the phone and apologized, even saying they were changing their reservation team's process so the limit would be stated on every call going forward. However, they refused to reimburse the $40 parking expense. Our parking issue also wasn't the only problem. Two members of our party waited approximately 45 minutes for their meals, food came out in waves, and my husband's burger was extremely salty. We were there for a family celebration and chose not to turn the evening into a confrontation by constantly complaining at the table. We simply tried to enjoy our time together. We appreciated the initial apology and acknowledgment of the issues. However, when we declined the offer of complimentary appetizers on a future visit because we had no intention of returning and don't typically order appetizers anyway, the tone of the final response became noticeably defensive. We were told that our reservation policies were available on OpenTable and that our reservation was made and confirmed there, despite the fact that we made our reservation arrangements over the phone. The only link we received afterward was to add a card to the reservation. For a party of 15 that spent over $400, I don't think asking for reimbursement of the $40 parking expense--especially after the restaurant acknowledged the parking policy was not properly communicated--was unreasonable. Instead of simply accepting responsibility for the communication issue, the final response focused on defending the restaurant, shifting blame, and ultimately stating that they "consider the matter closed." I've attached screenshots of the email exchange so people can see the full conversation and decide for themselves. We won't be returning. This review is simply an honest account of our experience and hopefully helps future guests make informed decisions.

Outside is just as high class and wonderfully decorated as the inside. We even got a couch booth and got to sit next to each other. We did the summer special which was the best special I've ever seen. $60 per person and you get a generous glass of wine, app, entree, and dessert. We both got the curried corn bisque for the app and my oh my I greatly enjoyed this even on a hotter day. The Smokey popcorn was a nice textural addition and the soup was so flavorful, the curry definitely shined through! We also both got the fried chicken for entrees; how could I not order the gluten free fried chicken!? Yes, naturally gluten free! This was outstanding. I'm not sure what the coating is, but it was so so flavorful and so crispy, and the chicken still so juicy. I could eat that on its own. The pepper jems were a cute touch! The mashed potatoes were so creamy. The chicken was placed on top of them so the bottom of the chicken did get soggy so my one suggestion is to place the chicken to the side, but the coating did rub into the potatoes which added some more flavor. The green beans were also tasty, nothing special, but the pistachio butter elevated it (nothing else needed the pistachio butter, not sure what else you use it for). I had a chocolate cake for dessert, the only gluten free dessert they offered me, but I still appreciate the option. It was just okay. The cake was dense and a little dry and didn't scream rich chocolate. There was a chocolate mousse layered in which helped. My boyfriend had some sort of strawberry cake mousse thing with layers of many different things - he thought it okay, I tried the mousse part and really liked it. We had red wine and it was delicious! The service was great, very attentive and they packed some ice in a cup for me because we weren't going home after!
