We were pleasantly surprised that it wasn't busy when we arrived, especially since it was Labor Day weekend. We were seated right away, and our waitress was friendly and attentive. She was covering quite a few tables, so it did seem like they were a little short-staffed that day, but she still did a good job taking care of us. We ordered the Million Dollar Bacon Breakfast Sandwich with seasoned potatoes, along with the Farmstead Tacos with potatoes and a side of Million Dollar Bacon. The tacos and breakfast sandwich were both good, but the maple bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich was absolutely delicious! I ordered the pickled jalapeños on the side, which was perfect for me. One suggestion for the Farmstead Tacos: the shells are VERY thin. I would recommend doubling up on the shells, similar to how they're served at many Mexican restaurants, so they hold together better and provide a little more support for the filling. The seasoned potatoes were unfortunately too salty for my taste. I would suggest using less seasoning. I'm not sure if they come pre-seasoned, but next time I'll probably request no additional seasoning to see if that makes a difference. Tip: Download their app and sign up for their email list! They offer specials, promotions, and even BOGO coupons and other deals, which can definitely help you save on future visits. I've previously visited one of the other nearby locations and I have to say this location was more enjoyable for me. The other location was stuffed to the gills with "influencer vibes" as well as clientele and I just want to sit in a nice, clean environment to enjoy delicious food. The Avondale location hit all those marks for me. Our server Jimena was very friendly and polite as well as speedy to make sure we had everything we needed from napkins and water to our food. The space is clean and decorated very humbly while still holding up the feel you might expect of First Watch. I tried the breakfast tacos and I definitely recommend! If you're a little hungry it's not too much food and if you're definitely hungry it's a good amount of food either way they're delicious. We ordered like people who hadn't eaten in days: biscuits and gravy (as a "side"... sure), seasonal fruit (grapes, pineapple, strawberries), and the chimichurri steak & eggs with hash as our main. Oh--and a kale tonic drink to feel responsible, plus iced coffee because balance. Everything? Absolutely delicious. Not one weak link. We ended up sharing everything and still had more than enough food for two people--which is rare unless you accidentally order for a family of four like we did. The real problem now is we've seen the rest of the menu... and we want all of it. So yeah, we're definitely coming back with a better strategy (and probably more stomach capacity). Staff was super attentive, our waiter was phenomenal, and the whole modern farmhouse vibe is actually really well done--clean, bright, and "Instagram-but-not-trying-too-hard." I always love a great b'fast or brunch at First Watch. I've visited many locations around the valley. I am excited about the new locations either just opening or coming to the Goodyear/Buckeye areas. This is a popular place. So I would recommend going on their website and sign up for the "Get in Line" waitlist. It sure helps not to have to stand in the heat when the weather gets warm. Always greeted with a smile and attentive servers. Since I am pretty much of a clean eater, I always look for the healthiest options. My usual go to is the Market Veggie sandwich. We stopped in at about 815 AM on a Monday and it wasn't as busy as I thought it would be (now when we left - it was definitely packed!) the wait staff was great - very attentive. We ordered the trifecta (waffle, scrambled eggs and chicken apple sausage), and the biscuits and turkey gravy. Both were good. The chicken apple sausage was a bit dry though, but the rest was good. It is very rare to give 5 stars these days. First Watch is the example of why a 5 star rating must be given. The food is just amazing! The flavors, presentation and overall experience made my tummy so very happy. Our server Caleb should be given an award for his personality, attentiveness, patience and kindness. We came to AZ for Spring training and wanted to have a traditional breakfast before heading back home to California and found First Watch on Yelp. We were blown away with how delicious EVERYTHING was. Melissa was our server and she was absolutely amazing! We told her we were from out of state and what she would recommend we have, her suggestion were on point. Melissa constantly checked in on us making sure we were ok. Honestly one of the best experiences I've had in a long time at a restaurant. If she isn't a team leader or supervisor she should be because her interactions with coworkers was also top tier, very empowering and supportive, truly one of a kind. Came on Saturday morning and jt wasn't super busy. We had a baby stroller with us which apparently is not very accommodated here. The greeter Ty made me and my family feel absolutely horrible and as if we were an inconvenience. He was out of line and rude about the stroller, saying it will block the way and such. Honestly where we sat there was so much space for it, but we already felt so unwelcome that we just figured another way out. Pretty much ruined my day. This is my second time visiting a First Watch restaurant. We visited the Avondale location for a quick late brunch. Service is friendly and we were seated immediately. We asked for a booth and were given one by the window. There is table and booth seating, and also some patio seating. There were quite a few flies around us and that was really my only complaint. It may have been because we were by the window. Today we ordered: - Coffee - I love how our waitress left the carafe at the table so I could refill as needed. Creamers and sugar are also part of the table setting. - Unsweet Iced Tea - Lemon Ricotta Pancakes to share - these pancakes are amazing! Probably some of the best I've had. They were light and fluffy inside and I could see the ricotta filling in some parts, but the edges were golden and crispy. I happen to love lemon curd so the dollop of lemon curd and powdered sugar sprinkled over sliced strawberries on top really made this a delightful treat to share. Also, a warm carafe of maple syrup is brought with the pancakes! Five stars - Omelette - Hubs ordered the omelette with a side of potatoes and ate all of it. Everything was really good. - Pick 2: 1/2 Sandwich & Salad - I chose the roast beef and havarti half sandwich with side of horseradish dip and the warm kale, berry, and nut salad topped with sliced warm chicken. Wait time was a little longer than hostess had anticipated, manager was extremely apologetic. We understood 1030a is prime rush time. I ordered off the summer seasonal menu- million dollar breakfast sandwich, and it was truly delicious, it did take a while to get our meals. My friends ordered a frittata and the Tri-fecta. We were all happy with our meals and the portions. First off they wanted to see my dogs service dog tag? Odd but ok I guess I can let that slide, but wait time was twice as long as they stated it would take, server was extremely slow in service, and 30+minutes after ordering the food was cold. I ate it because I'm starving. Last water glass was broken but server wouldn't have known because she never came back to the table. Went for a late breakfast on a Thursday and it was packed. This place is always busy but the wait wasn't long. Our waiter was kind and efficient but not a lot of attentiveness as it was busy and seemed like not as many waiters. I ordered an omelette and a lavender drink. I enjoyed the freshness of the food and tastiness of my drink. The open floor plan is nice and the barnyard decor is cute. I didn't like how the bar area/ outdoor space had an open door which let bugs enter the restaurant so I did spend some time swatting flies away from my food. Second time eating here and it did not disappoint. This is a great place to stop for breakfast driving back to CA. The service is great. Even though it's crowded, the wait time isn't too long but yet the service doesn't feel rushed either. The server was able to accommodate my request for warm water. There is a variety of food and drink options and it's always fresh. The place is nice and clean and decorated nicely. We went to the Avondale location by Westgate. It was Outstanding. If you want to get my attention pay attention to the details. Starting with service. Our server (Alina) brought her "A" game. Greeting us asking for drink orders and provided menu recommendations. She was good. Coffee carafe was delivered and a water bottle. Orders were made. Food took a little while to come out but the place was Slammed. It gave us time to chit chat anyways. Once our food arrived we were both pleased with our orders. Everything was Hot Fresh n cooked to order. I was next to the open kitchen so I could actually watch. I like being able to see the kitchen in action. Big Flavor on both dishes. Portion sizes were good. Prices were evenly paired. Over all a very good Brunch stop. We will definitely pay another visit. Oh! And the coffee-tinie was pretty bomb.it was 1100 don't judge! The food is quality deliciousness. This place is very busy. The wait time is worth it. The prices are super reasonable for the amount of food you are served. I went on a Thursday morning and they were busy. I thought it would be slow, because everyone would be at work. Nope, everyone was at First Watch. We were seated quickly. Probably waited about 20 minutes which was fine considering how busy they were. First Watch is always consistent. I've been to the location in Tempe several times. This is my first time eating at this location, which is closer to my home. When I say consistent you know what you're going to get. The food is always chef kiss. The maple bacon appetizer was so delicious. We also had the donuts. If I was a wise woman, I would have saved some of the bacon to insert inside of the donut hole. Next time I visit, I am definitely trying it. I feel like it would be a match made in heaven. It's always clean and family friendly. Good for a casual date as well. Our waiter was extremely nice. When I return I hope he is working and we can receive his service again. Oh, almost forgot. The last time I went to First Watch I paid at the register. They now have a QR code system that links you to an app. It was pretty seamless. I liked it. The only issue are tips. I'm not certain how that's paid out. Came here on a Saturday with my husband and the place was jam packed. However, it moved pretty quickly and we were seated in about 30 minutes. Our server was wonderfully quick and very bubbly, a real joy to have and she gave us some great recommendations. My husband ordered the Chickichanga and absolutely devoured it. I was lucky to get a bite to just try it, but I can understand why because it was wonderfully savory with a touch of spice, nothing too explosive, luckily for us! They were very busy for brunch, and the wait would be a bit, so I opted to sit at the bar. The bartender was very nice and checked up on us quite often.
