Had the lemon pepper shrimp with asparagus and mash potatoes and bread on side, bf had the same plate with chicken instead and son had the kids chicken alfredo everything was very good we left our plates empty! And to be honest did not go into a coma like other places. Very well balanced!! The owner Ulisses was very nice he came out and made sure we were well taken care of. Great hospitality. We've come here few times already, for brunch and breakfast and have not been disappointed. They have thirsty Thursdays and karaoke nights on Friday!! read more

First time visiting Monroe's with my family, and wow, what an amazing experience! My son ordered the Philly cheesesteak with sidewinder fries, and it was so juicy and so delicious. The fries were fried to perfection, crispy on the outside and fluffy inside, and the whole family loved them. My husband also tried a make-your-own pasta with an Alfredo and pesto mix, asparagus, and shrimp, a combination our fantastic server Derek suggested. We've decided to call it "The Derek Special" because it was that good! The shrimp were the juiciest I've ever had, and the flavors blended perfectly. I had the chicken capellini, which was also really good, light, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. Service was out of this world. Derek took such great care of us, and even the atmosphere in the restaurant was warm and welcoming. A kind gentleman at the table beside us even paid for our meal. Thank you, mystery man! What a sweet surprise to top off a wonderful lunch. The restaurant was spotless, the menu had tons of great options, and everything came out fresh and hot. Wife and I stopped in for a late breakfast. Wait staff was great, place is clean and bright with a large on tap beer selection for such a small establishment. Now for the not so great hash browns we're under cooked gravy and biscuits tasted like they oil or grilled had not been cleaned or need to be changed. Toast was good and eggs came out great. Might try some other food if we were back in the area again. Wait staff was so awesome had to give it 3 stars but we would not choose to eat breakfast food again maybe lunch or dinner. read more

We decided to try something new for our double date night out. The location is in the older part of Buckeye. It is nicely decorated with low lights and greenery. Service was awesome and fast. Our drinks were barely empty before we were refilled. Our food came out in a reasonable time as well. I ordered the chicken with spinachi pasta that had a white sauce base. It was a large portion so I took half of it home. The plate came with some delicious garlic bread. My husband ordered the spaghetti and meatballs. He enjoyed it but noted a bit of spice to it. Our friends had the flatbread and Philly sandwich. Taste was on par. We finished out the evening with a shared slice of the peach crumb cheesecake that featured bits of a honey glaze. Yum! I really hate writing a mid-level review of a new place, especially in downtown Buckeye where we desperately need businesses to be successful. However, honest criticism is needed for change to be made, and I really hope that they can work towards being successful. The place is clean. It's not new, and tables/chairs are mismatched, but it's a clean diner style setting. This was a one man show in the front of the house. He was doing to go orders, taking orders, bring food, the whole thing. We were there for lunch and it got quite busy with new people saying they had come across reviews on Facebook. That's why we were there too. The food. Oh, the food. A turkey & brie sandwich - asked what kind of bread. The options were white or wheat. For an Italian "inspired" restaurant, this would have been a lot better option on the focaccia that they already have. The sandwich had 2 slices of deli turkey, a piece of rubbery, wilted lettuce, tomato, roasted red pepper, and melted brie. It was on toasted sandwich bread. Served with a bag of chips Meatball panini was 2 meatballs per half, served on focaccia bread. Nothing fancy. Comes with a bag of chips. The soup. I have had my shared of canned soup in my life. This soup looked and tastes EXACTLY like Progressonsoup, with Acini de Pepe pasta added to it. Service was fast, but we got there before the crowd came in. I really do hope that they can work to make it a place that locals can enjoy, but based off the menu today, I can't even do my normal "3 strikes you're out" rule. Given 3 stars for being clean and fast, with a friendly server. Hopefully room for potential. read more

My husband and I came out to dinner. We really enjoyed the Burrata pesto appetizer. The red pesto was so delicious. My husband ordered the Gnocchi and sausage pesto and I had the Chicken Parmigiana. We came less than an hour to closing and the only in person diners. The waiter was very attentive and honest about his recommendations. We will definitely come back to try breakfast. read more

Monroe's Kitchen is hands-down my new favorite spot! No joke, this is the only kitchen I'll be eating out of for the rest of my life :) I came yesterday and had the Philly cheese sandwich with twister fries for dinner ...absolute treat. I literally came back the next day and tried the pesto pasta with sausage, and it was soooo delicious. OMG YES PLEASE! Both times, the food came out in under five minutes, which was such a pleasant surprise. The ambiance is perfect for a cozy Italian meal. Can't recommend this place enough! This is a hidden gem, the real home cooking. Food is great, be sure your hungry, we left with tomorrow's dinner. Best service I've ever had in the 50 years in Arizona. The atmosphere is old home town, comfortable and relaxing, no rushing. We will make this a place to take out of town visitors and our weekly eat out place. Terrific, great, awesome. 2 out of 3 times we ordered from Monroe's kitchen (through Uber Eats) and at the last minute they just cancel after we have already waited over 30 minutes all the while thinking food was on the way. Food is great but their service obviously comes short. read more

Our food was delicious and the portions sizes were HUGE! We were a group of 4 and each had something different. We were all very pleased with our meals. Pasta was perfect, sauces were flavorful and the garlic bread was delicious! They just started serving beer and wine and are planning to expand their bar menu.
