A friend and I decided to grab breakfast here recently when we were in the area for an event. We came on a Tuesday morning around eight and it wasn't busy. After looking over the menu I decided on the traditional with scrambled eggs and pork sausage links. The eggs were cooked to perfection; everything tasted well-seasoned and flavorful, and the potatoes had a nice balance of crispiness to them. Overall, service was alright, not too friendly, and it took a while for our server to come back to take our order, but the food did come out in a timely manner. Went to spring training at Camelback Ranch and wanted a breakfast spot nearby--this place was super convenient and really good. I got The Traditional Breakfast with chicken maple sausage patty, scrambled eggs, and gluten-free bread. Everything was solid--the eggs were cooked well, the sausage had great flavor, and the potatoes were actually really good too. Loved that they had a gluten-free bread option. We also ordered the Million Dollar Bacon and it was so good. You can taste a little cayenne and black pepper, but it's not too much at all. It goes really well with the sweetness from the maple. We tried First Watch here in February for the first time ever and we were very impressed. It's on my list of good local eat options now. This restaurant chain just has all-around good basic brunch items that will satisfy any kind of eater. The food is freshly prepared, and the juice is fresh squeezed as well. There are lots of health-conscious items that are also flavorful on the menu. For example, I cannot have egg yolks at the moment, and even though this spot specializes in egg items, they have plenty of options for me as well. We ordered: - BLUE BOOSTER FRESH SQUEEZED DAILY LIMITED SPECIAL JUICE - BLUEBERRY, FUJI APPLE, LEMON, BASIL - fresh and delicious and I love the large fresh whole basil leaf garnishing the drink - RASPBERRY RICOTTA FRENCH TOAST SPECIAL to share - Thick-cut, custard-dipped challah bread griddled and topped with fresh raspberries, whipped lemon ricotta cream, raspberry purée and spiced gingerbread cookie crumbles. Staple breakfast place in most cities. Been to this place in Dallas, Savannah and now Glendale. Service is always good, food tastes good with great options. The place is always buzzing and be prepared to wait at times. As for this location, the staff was very sociable, food came out fast and we were able to get back on our way a quicker than we expected. Only downside was that my shirt got stained from dirt or grim on the edge of the table. Suggest the staff not only wipe down the table tops but also the sides. read more

Wow, I've never really been a fan of chilaquiles but I wanted to give it another shot and the chilaquiles here was delicious! The tortilla chips still had a nice crunch but there was still a perfect amount of drizzled sauce. The eggs were perfectly made -- still soft but not mushy. This dish was definitely nutrient-dense and helped me reach my fiber goals for the day! The staff were very helpful and made sure my meal was completely gluten-free, as I have a gluten sensitivity. It was quite packed in there but we were seated very quickly. Fun checking out different places when you visit out of state! First watch didn't look like a restaurant from the outside, but do yourself a favor and step inside! Open and airy and a wonderful breakfast/brunch/lunch spot! My first time did not disappoint! Buttermilk Biscuit, Turkey sausage and gravy with a side of cheesy grits shared with my daughter - the biscuit was HUGE and had made in site! Buttery and rich biscuit with amazing savory Turkey sausage and gravy. The american potatoes were amazing as well! And cholula to boot! Our server -and everyone was attentive! We are staying at the hotel close by for a convention and decided to go and have breakfast here. It was very packed. We waited about 25 minutes to be seated. Our waitress was very sweet and very accommodating. Apologize for the wait took our drink orders asked if we had any questions about anything since it was our first time being there she was very helpful. We went ahead and placed our drink orders receive those pretty quickly, went ahead and placed our food order. Everything came out so pretty great presentation and everything was absolutely delicious in house made watermelon drink was so good. I'm gonna definitely regret not being able to get that again since I do not live in Arizona I am from California. The Strawberry Tres Leches French toast was so good! We ordered a side of smoked bacon, the pesto chicken quinoa bowl, and their trifecta plate. For my choice of protein, I chose the chicken apple sausage patties with scrambled eggs and added an extra egg. Everything was a delight! Waffles came with a cherry sauce.. or perhaps it was blueberry? It gave the waffle a nice sweet hint of flavor combined with the butter! SOO Good. As for the quinoa bowl.... My coworker friend turned me on to this place and I fell in love. The Million Dollar bacon, grits, and there was this sausage, egg, avocado, Million Dollar bacon crescent sandwich with cheese and syrup. OMG!! These are my favorite things on the menu. Bring back that croissant sandwich! It was so delicious. I've only eaten in the restaurant once, it's cute. Pickup is fast, workers are friendly. The Westgate location is always jumping. First disappointing visit to a First Watch. We have been to 3 in the greater Phoenix area and 3 in the Nashville area. This was the loudest/noisiest of any visit. Went in for brunch before a Cardinals game. We were lucky enough to snag seats at the bar and skip the waitlist. The food was decent and fairly quick given how busy they were. Originally the hash was brought with the eggs made incorrectly and it did take awhile for them to be corrected and brought back out but that dish was compted so they made up for the wait time. read more

We came to First Watch for a late breakfast before walking over to the State Farm stadium for the 49ers @ Cardinals game on Sunday December 17th. They were on a long wait, for sure it's worth it to be on the waiting list ahead of time, I believe which you can do online. We opted to sit at the bar too once a couple left to avoid the wait. Totally understandable why they're on a wait, it's not a huge huge place, and only open until 2 pm I believe. We got a Bloody Mary and a mimosa and ordered our food. It's impossible to not be busy at this place as there's never an empty table or seat at the bar top. I ordered the classic potato dish that is on their sign outside, Sunny Soeul Hash. It has potatoes, kimchi, meat, I got 2 Sunny side up eggs on it. Next time I go, I'd 100% get the eggs Benedict. Highly recommend. read more

The online waiting system needs a little polishing and front end needs retraining in customer service. We picked your restaurant as food looked great and the wait time was 20-40 min. We waited over an hour before we got seated. After placing ourselves in the waiting list on line, as per our conversation over the phone, we checked in 30 minutes to find out our place in the wait list. The brunette lady at the front desk with a condescending tone told me that as "you see people are dining and the tables are full". I requested to check my place on the list and verify how i would be contacted once the table became available. This lady told me it would be 10 minutes and that i would get a text at my phone number. So i went back to waiting with a bit of sour taste on my mouth due to the condescending tone. Fast forward 30 more minutes and still no text. I go back to the front host, now attended by a much pleasant lady, and she informed that i still had 3 more people ahead of us and that it would be 10 minutes. The original brunette curly haired lady said that no one had been seated since i last checked in 30 minutes prior. What?!?!? I asked the other lady about this and she said that the waitlist is odd in a way that if someone on the waitlist was passed by due to no response when called this will put them below in the queue but if they show up then they had priority, but we will get called in about 10 minutes if we wanted to be seated. At this point i had half way decided to leave but other places were already well below an hour wait and we were not even on a list. I left but a few minutes later we were called to get seated. Once seated our waiter Cory was pleasant and prompt in offering us beverages. He came back within a good amount of time to take our order. Half way through our meal he dropped off the check without even coming back to check on us or if we needed anything else. Throughout our time seated I saw people being seated every 5 minutes -small and large parties- this lead me to think that the ball was dropped with us and the worse part was that there was no accountability or apology for the extra wait time. We were touring the area and everyone had been so nice up until our last meal which made us late for our last activity before heading back home. As good as the food and the pricing was, for sure next year we will be looking for an alternative or go back to the restaurant across the street BISCUITS CAFE for better service and amazing food. 1 star for the food being good.
