Not to mention the Waitress Kim was the best she gave us advice on what to get, she was const checking in on us and refilling everything for us. Came here to try this place out when my brother came to town. It wasn't very busy the day we went, but we still had to wait a while to be seated. Once we were seated, it took about 10 minutes for our server to come over and take our drink order. She was nice, but unfortunately the service was pretty slow throughout our visit. We ordered the spicy mango margaritas, but they weren't spicy at all and tasted more like orange juice than mango. Honestly, it felt like we were drinking screwdrivers. Our server brought out chips and salsa. The colorful chips were cute, and I really liked the salsa! We asked for more chips and salsa, but unfortunately they never came. My brother ordered the mixed fajitas with rice and beans. The fajitas on their own were pretty bland, but adding the guacamole and pico de gallo definitely helped give them some flavor. The rice was just okay, and neither of us cared for the beans. I ordered the Tacos Chilaca with carne asada, and those were delicious! Definitely the highlight of the meal for me. We asked again for more salsa, but never received it. Overall, it's a cute place, but I'm not sure I'd return. The prices felt a little high for what was mostly mediocre Mexican food, and the slow service didn't help. Environment is nice and pleasant , Saturday morning . We sat outside in the patio and was nice and cool. Sat down at 9:50 am got out food at 10:46 Menudo , scramble egg for the baby and the breakfast hamburger. Menudo was warm and most likely sat for a bit before coming out as you can tell when the grease starts to set on top of it Table next to us ordered the menudo and approx 10 minutes they got theirs out. I checked out Poca Madre for brunch and we both really enjoyed this spot. First thing I noticed was the vibe. They had Mexican music playing which gave the place a nice atmosphere. The restaurant itself is clean with a modern look and plenty of natural light. I ordered the chilaquiles with carne asada and got them divorciados with both the red and green salsa. They came loaded with eggs, carne asada, crema, queso fresco, cilantro and pickled onions. The portion was definitely worth it. Between the two salsas the green was easily my favorite. The red was ok but the green salsa really brought the flavor and took the whole plate up a notch. Neither one was overly spicy either. So if you're somebody who can't really handle spicy food you should be good with either one. I ended up putting some ketchup on my eggs and surprisingly it complemented the red salsa really well. Now that horchata... They bring it out in these huge barrel-shaped jars about the size of your hand. I wasn't expecting that at all. It's cold, creamy and tastes delicious. Definitely don't skip the horchata. Service was on point too. Our food came out quick and our server was attentive whenever we needed something without constantly hovering over us. Stopped by for a weekday lunch and walked into a fun, lively ambiance. The bar was full and FIFA was on so people had the vibes up! I read several reviews on here that the music was loud - that's honestly part of the reason why this review is high because that definitely set the tone for our outing. The music was fun and vibrant and we had a great time. I got the brunch protein bowl with chicken and my boyfriend got the burrito. Both were so yummy and very filling. They have house made salsa but also habenero if you need something with a little more spice :) We also got margaritas and the bartender was very sweet. I got a blanco prickly pear with a sugar rim and my bf got a reposado house marg. However, while the interior decor is beautiful and the patio has full coverings from the sun, the food and service were lacking. The wait time for the food was roughly 30 minutes. We were there for brunch. My eggs came out hard which is overcooked from the over easy I requested. Hash browns were disgusting. Like they were cooked in old oil. We sat there for some time before the server came back to give us the check. I think standard good service is picking up the empty plates when dropping off the check. I noticed some Tesla charging ports in the entrance but were not operational and the staff told me the management is working g with the shipping center management to get them operational. We were seated sooner than expected. The ambiance and decor is very classy and inviting. Music keeps the vibes going I did notice everything very clean. We waited around 30 mins to be seated. I will say service wasn't the best. We didn't get a server until another server saw we were at the table without anyone attending us. It took about 10 mins to get beverages to the table. We had ordered an appetizer but did not come out for a while. Our food came out in about 30ish minutes. I ordered the chilaquiles with carne asada. I will say $20 for this plate was good but the taste I didn't like. The food was like warm and made it taste off. We also had ordered menudo shooters and I also didn't like the flavor it had a weird taste to me. Ambiance was good but the servers seemed like they didn't know what they were doing. One thing I noticed was the chef coming out and bringing the food to the tables which I thought was off. I don't think I've ever seen that. The whole restaurant seemed like they didn't know what they were doing. I did overhear that they had just opened in February. Food is ok nothing special, had the menudo it was $18 for a medium size bowl with some seasoning and lime it was decent, definitely not worth the $18 better off going to food city. Holy crap on a cracker! What a crap show. So excited to try this new restaurant, but what a disappointment. I will never return. The restaurant was freezing. They refused to close the patio, stating that it would not unlock and that people would be trapped outside. Because of this, we were freezing throughout our meal, and our food went cold within minutes of being served. Originally, we ordered iced mocha lattes that came out tasting like watered-down chocolate milk, 30 minutes after ordering, we received them. We returned this drink and got black coffee instead, which was barely recognizable as coffee; it tasted like warm tap water. We ordered an espresso martini that took 45 minutes to arrive, and it wasn't creamy. It was watered down. There was no espresso flavor. The Chilaquiles were ordered with Carne Asada and red and green sauce. It came out cold and congealed. My dining partner ordered a single pancake to go along with this. The pancake came out cold. The syrup was not warmed up. The butter was so cold that it could not even spread on the pancake. I ordered the Birria grilled cheese, which came with a cone and a bacon-wrapped stuffed jalapeño. This was the only part of the meal that either one of us enjoyed. The manager who spoke with us gave the impression that it was our fault for being uncomfortable with how poor the service was, the food quality, and the restaurant's temperature, even though other customers were complaining and changing tables. My cousin had the Chile Relleno de Brunch which was REALLY good. I will personally get that on my next visit. I ended up trying the Sopes de Desayuno which come with over easy eggs. I loved it. The food is great, but the music they play both inside and outside is way too loud for anyone to have a conversation. This may be OK for dinner, but we were having brunch with my older parents, and they sat next to each other, and could not hear each other, let alone hear us. Indicated that they would not come back because of the very loud music, which saddened me because again, the food is good. I would recommend that they at least lower the volume until late evening dinner or even better if they'd offer the outdoor patio to be low volume, and I mean very low volume music and folks can choose whether they want to sit inside and be blasted with music, or sit outside and be a little bit more comfortable if that's their preference. I don't get me wrong, the music selection is great for me, but I honestly could see a lot of other folks around us in the outside patio at noon brunch that were struggling to converse with each other. Take note though, reservations are welcomed during the Week Days only and it's first come first serve on Weekends. We were a party of 8 and we were seated within 15 minutes. The Manager was Awesome for making this happen! We told our waitress Abby that we had 2 Birthdays to Celebrate and she said, "I got you!" We proceeded to order Agua Fresca and sodas. The Agua Fresca we ordered was the Jamaica, Horchata and Virgin Piña Colada and they came in cute Mini Jarritos (little jugs) and they were all so refreshing and delicious! For the food, we ordered the Molcajete Poca Madre, Parrillada para Dos (includes carne asada, chicken, shrimp, chorizo, bacon wrapped peppers, grilled green onions and guacamole), Fajitas de Camaron, Loaded Nachos, Chicken Flautas, California Burrito, Birria Tacos and Enchiladas Rojas! The entrees all come with a side of chorizo beans, rice, salsa, guacamole and 6 mini flour tortillas or 3 Corn (these are huge). The food was served within 30 minutes, but prior to being served, we were brought Tri-Color (Mexican Flag colors of Red, White & Green) chips and salsa. All the food and desserts are authentic Mexican cuisine and are made in house, from scratch and made to order! We all got to taste Everything that was ordered and it was DELICIOUS!! The pictures of our food do not give it justice! The portions are huge, the shrimp in the fajitas were Jumbo, the carne asada was clean, the chicken was juicy and all the sides were deliciously seasoned! There was so much food, that we took home 7 containers of leftovers. Afterwards, Abby and friends brought over Mexican sombreros for the Birthday boy and girl to wear and then it was a Paaaaaarty!!! They also got a Free Tres Leches slice of cake after the entire restaurant sang "Happy Birthday"! We are definitely coming back next time for Brunch!
