Haven't been to this place in at least 15 years came to try it out because I was working in the area was seated right away. My order was taken right away, but the food did take a little while before it came out. I have to say that I was a little underwhelmed with the Spanish bowl. It was just essentially scrambled eggs with like a pico on it with hashbrowns and a bunch of green chilies that were so spicy it was very underwhelming. The reason why I am giving it as many stars as I am is because everybody else at the table had good breakfast dishes, including one lunch dish, the Reuben The pricing was decent. Looking for a "Ma & Pa" homemade breakfast joint? This is your place! The food was very authentic, delicious, and met the ideal comfort food! They also serve lunch and dinner as well. I had the Denver omelet with country gravy over top with a side of potatoes and toast. Very good! My friend had the French toast with potatoes. The French toast appeared to be made with French bread because the French toasts pieces were long. My friend said it's one of her faves when she eats here. It's her go to. Side note... The portion sizes are huge and fulfilling! The atmosphere definitely has that country style "ma & pa" feel, giving it a cozy feel. It was very quiet inside, yet the staff were very friendly, attentive, and kind. I truly enjoyed our first visit here. A definite must try! read more

First time trying TJ's and leaving super unimpressed :( The staff was friendly to US but were awfully mean to one another.. having loud conversation poking at each other for different odds and ends. Our server Regina was nice and she was honest that the kitchen was running behind from the start. But we did not know that that meant waiting about an hour for our food ... After the long wait the bacon and ham were cold, eggs soggy, and hash browns were barely cooked. We were excited to try the cinnamon roll, that took 40min to come out.. it was severely underwhelming. The frosting was gritty and the roll itself was not a good texture. Painfully paid full price for the food we barely touched. Staff was apologetic and told us to give them another try when it's not "race weekend".. not sure we'd come back to be honest. read more

Want to check out homecooking this is the place you need to go! We got there at closing time and they welcomed us in with a great spot. The kids ordered milkshakes. One was PURE coffee wahoo! The other was chocolate and delicious! The giant cinammon roll was fun to share with the table and there was tons of frosting left over. We each ordered the belly buster burger, the pancakes, and hashbrowns. Everything was cooked very well. The bacon was a bit over cooked. The strawberries seemed past their ripe date. Searched for a breakfast place while up in the west Phoenix area and this cute homestyle place came up and we are so glad it did! It is home cooking with the friendliest service, real families and truckers in the country style decorated dining rooms, and huge portions of deliciousness. The blueberry muffin was especially tasty loaded with blueberries. My husband and I shared the big breakfast which could easily have fed 3! Plenty of parking and very affordable. A refreshing change after making the mistake of eating at First Watch a week prior, where there was one menu item that appealed to me and it was labeled "your Dad eats this". First time coming here with my bf. the lady that served us was very friendly and helpful on what we should get, their food were big! Terrible experience from start to finish. As soon as my group was seated, we immediately noticed staff arguing with each other about which table they were going to take. That already made the experience uncomfortable and gave us a bad first impression. It then took over 10 minutes just to bring out one drink. We continued waiting for our food while watching people who arrived after us get served before we did. At one point, we even saw groups who had just been seated receive their food while we were still waiting. After waiting for about an hour, someone finally came out with our order, only for us to find out that it was the wrong order. We then discovered that our actual order had apparently never even been put in. After already waiting so long, finding that out was extremely frustrating. We arrived around 9:45 AM and didn't leave until around 11:00 AM, and that was only because the service had become so frustrating that we decided to leave. The long wait, lack of communication, staff arguing in front of customers, and the fact that our order was never entered made this an extremely disappointing experience. I understand that restaurants can get busy and that mistakes happen, but there should at least be communication and some effort to make things right. Unfortunately, we experienced neither. Based on our experience, the service was absolutely horrible, and I would not recommend coming here if you're expecting timely or organized service. read more

I am giving 3 stars based on our last visit on 9/8/26. We have been there once before and it was good, however on the 8th, we had a different experience. The waitress was cheerful and very nice. Both my wife's and my hash browns were almost burnt crisp on top leaving almost no potatoes to eat. My wife's scrambled eggs were overcooked. Some of my toast was a little overcooked. We arrived as a party of 3 and were welcomed with a wait of over 30 minutes due to kid's soccer teams, PIR event, MADD walk, We Walk for Hope Walk.... The wait was worth it. The soup of the day was albondigas hands down the best I have ever eaten. Compliments to the chef- the broth was full of veggies and the meatballs (yes, two) were flavored and spiced perfectly. I also ordered the green chili omelette- the green chili was very good. My dining partner tried the cinnamon roll French toast topped with butter and syrup. It was a very good combination . My other diner has the chorizo omelette and a strawberry shake. All of the food was very good. As a plus the staff was efficient and kept the coffee full. This is a hometown diner clear on the opposite side of town.. a mom and pop shop .. we will drive for the service and the good down home style cooking ! read more

If I could rate this a 0 I would. Their service was so bad, we waited an hour just to get our food. When we had asked how long, the waitress said we had to wait at least 40 minutes for our food. As soon as our food was ready, our waiter only brought it one by one. The ambiance was heavy, it felt like the people were giving us a bad attitude as well as sarcasm. Our waitress only brought us water and got our food orders and then after nothing. No updates, no asking how we are, nothing. She only checked up on us after we got our food. My sister ordered chilaquiles without any knowledge it wouldn't actually be it. In the description it describes it regularly but once she received it, it was only the sauce in a bowl. Was visiting my mom and thought we'd try this place based on how busy it always is, thinking it would be good. Very wrong. Service is terrible and slow and food was even more disappointing. Tables and floor were dirty and our silverware still had food stuck to it. The wait to be seated was around 20 minutes with two small parties ahead of us. From there, it was close to another hour before we got our food, and our server had been MIA so unsurprisingly it was cold. Part of the order was not there and had to wait another bit for that. The server was very overwhelmed and was overheard snapping at another table who was ordering. The worst was the cinnamon rolls. We took them to go and once home, they were clearly old. I mean multi day stale. Could not eat and heating and adding extra butter did nothing. The entire experience was so comically bad I cannot see myself coming here ever again. read more
