What a great little breakfast / brunch dive. The kind of place we like when not in the mood for the pretentious crowd experience. Loved the fact there was a broad spectrum of people from all areas/aspects of life. Couples, individuals, families, old, young and various cultures. The food was as expected; good 'ol cafe type food. Sandwiches, breakfast plates and lunch plates. Service was on-the-spot and fast moving. If your assigned server was not nearby, the next available server checked on us. My fiancée and I stopped in for brunch on Saturday, February 7, 2026. We live in the area and our curiosity was piqued every time we drove by. We were greeted by a friendly hostess who seated us at a table and handed us menus. Our waitress arrived and took our drink order. We ordered coffee and water. She inquired we wanted a cinnamon roll because they had a few left. We agreed and the coffee and cinnamon roll arrived soon after. The cinnamon roll was delicious. A lot for two people. Peoria Café completely won us over. The food was hearty, comforting, and honestly way better than anything we've had at other restaurants lately. Let's chat about Annie. Oh, Annie!! She is the best server we've ever had, truly!! Friendly, kind, funny, and somehow reading the table like she has a sixth sense. Before we even ordered, she thanked us for supporting them -- which immediately made us want to order everything on the menu just to make her proud. This place is a great little find. Breakfast burrito was very good, hash browns were awesome. You get plenty of creamy grits. Portions were very generous. The open faced turkey sandwich was plentiful but the gravy used was a dark brown/beef gravy. We were expecting turkey gravy. I won't have the open faced turkey here again. Peoria Café has the best grits I've ever had. They're super creamy, actually seasoned, and don't taste like plain mush like a lot of places serve. The café itself is simple and cozy, nothing fancy, just that local spot energy where the food hits and you feel comfortable right away. This place definitely deserves a visit. My pregnant wife and I are new to the area, and still trying new local dining options to support our community. We visited this dinner on a Friday, I had their fish and chips (their Friday special) and my wife had the Philly cheesesteak with onion rings, we shared a waffle afterwards. I genuinely love the idea of their open kitchen and watching the chef cook our food. You can tell he loves his job and that itself reassured me we were going to get some good food. We got our money's worth for sure, the food portions were plenty and very delicious, and had leftovers to take home. You get a free refill on drinks. I'll start off by saying that Annie was an amazing waitress! She was so welcoming and overall, a sweetheart. My sister, mom and I were hungry and were just looking for a place to just sit and chat. Peoria Cafe was our stop! Off the bat we are greeted and given a table. Annie comes by and takes our drink order and mentions that their cinnamon rolls are fresh out of the oven and asked if we wanted to order one for the table. We said yes! We were delivered a large, warm cinnamon roll with melted frosting on it. It was delicious! We all ordered and once again Annie's hospitality and warmth just had us smiling at the table. We were never out of coffee or water; we had many refills. The food was great! I ordered the breakfast croissant sandwich and definitely made the right choice. My mom was mentioning that she's been wanting to find a cafe, or diner that she would go to frequently and had a homelike feeling and this place was it! "Looks over aesthetic," said Annie. This place was great! We drive by all the time. The restaurant was super clean and our waitress was lovely. All of our food came out steaming hot, which was amazing! If you go in the fresh baked cinnamon roll is a must! I ordered the croissant sandwich with hashbrowns and my husband ordered the French toast with bacon, but did not receive the bacon. He also ordered a side of eggs and a side of grits. The food its self was just okay, other than the cinnamon roll I would not eat what we ordered again. The service was great! FRIDAY FISH! Been here multiple times and always had great food and service. I will say for breakfast on the weekends it is always busy and loud. This time we ordered fish through door dash. The fish was amazing. Super white flaky huge pieces with a very light golden crispy coating. Tartar sauce was great. The coleslaw was perfect for me everyone is different on how they like coleslaw. Hard to find good diner food anywhere outside of the East Coast and Peoria Cafe has carefully cultivated their menu, and experience over decades providing exactly that. Although not much has changed over the years we have been coming here, that's a great thing and rare to have a staff and community so strong after so many years. We are here literally every weekend with our grandparents and it can get busy but is ALWAYS worth the wait (which is a testament to how amazing their food is) If you want to walk right in it's a bit less crowded during the week! 10/10 and I have never had a bad meal here. My food was good no complaints on that. I was in a time crunch so I did not address this at the restaurant; however, I do feel it needs addressing. My receipt shows that I paid $6 for a side of fries. There was no price on the menu so I didn't know what to expect. The price one their online menu is $3.99. I looked at various items on the menu and guessed fried should be $3-4. I was SHOCKED to see $6.00. The only thing that was $6 that I could see were different meats. A salad was $5.49. Home fries I think were $3.99. Sorry but I think you are not being fair to customers with this pricing. read more

WTH?? Since the new owner took over things have not changed for the better. They took away the rewards program for loyal customers!, They no longer offer to go cups for beverages. This should be a given here in this hot climate. They have the jelly containers full of Grape jelly. That is because nobody likes this crap. Strawberry, orange marmalade, blackberry should be available. There is a reason those jelly things are always full of grape. NOBODY eats it!! It really does not matter what you write in these reviews because the owner does not even check any of them. LOL They are lucky that the cooks are still putting out good food.
