This ain't ordinary bowling alley food! George's takes it up a notch. My bride and I went for lunch and were pleasantly surprised at the menu and food. She chose a cheeseburger and I ordered the Greek salad which shows a "A favorite" on the menu. It came with a cup of soup which was clam chowder since it was Friday. My wife's cheeseburger was really good. Juicy and cooked just right. My salad was huge and delicious. Half of it came home with me. The clam chowder wasn't bad either. Lots of clams! Service was ok, I feel they could have been a bit more attentive but that was the only complaint (if you call it that). We are looking forward to going back and trying breakfast. read more

We went into George's Bell cafe with a group of friends (8) after bowling. This is twice in a row now that we have been met by rude waitresses. We were told to wait outside for awhile. She continued to seat other customers behind us after telling us to wait outside the restaurant. We wont be back. There will not be a third time. It costs nothing to be nice, greet people with a smile and make them feel welcome. This happened the evening of June 13, 2026 our group went outside as we were told but we left and went somewhere else to eat. We wont be back. read more

Located in the Recreation Center in Sun City, this place has a charming old-school diner vibe. Good service and good food! Despite being in the Recreation Center of a retirement community, anyone is welcome to eat here. The food is good and it's refreshing to have peppy, mature servers taking care of things. I had a breaded pork tenderloin sandwich which was an actual piece of pork not a reconstituted ground patty, hard to find outside of the midwest. This was some of the best meatloaf that I have ever eaten. They were generous with 2 large slices and plenty of spicy, tasty, brown gravy. The whipped mashed potatoes were good too. We were looking for a nice place to grab breakfast, where the locals go ... George's met our expectations. Good food, quaint ambience, reasonable prices. (Literally in the bowling alley, next to shuffleboard lanes, so if you are wanting something "fancy" go elsewhere). Service is OK - standard for this kind of restaurant ie. short order diner. Ambiance is utilitarian. Food quality varies wildly. Breakfast staples are OK but is hard to screw up eggs and bacon type dishes. Sandwiches are portion pack an just horrible. Tasteless but where there is taste it's bad. Seems like the food has been in the freezer for months. My gyro tasted nothing like real gyro and the onions are thawed from frozen. To top it off the prices are way higher than competitors that do a better job. read more

Places in Georgia's Café came up, so we decided to give it a try because we were right there, It was very interesting it was part of a bowling alley, and it looked like an old-fashioned diner, right in front. there was a sign for onion and liver., And we thought it would be fantastic place to eat The food look OK, but it did not taste the way it looked. I had the Arizona meat skillet it was not that good, the cheese on it. It tasted very tangy and it just didn't taste that good The service was great. The ladies who took care of us. Was very nice pleasant. Service has been bad every time we have come in. This last time was the last after we sat for about twelve minutes without getting menus. Everyone after us had menus and drinks. After I flagged a waitress down, she jumped on me saying they were too busy trying to get the hot food out. She had already waited on the table next to us (they came in several minutes after us) and they had their food and we were even acknowledged. I ordered the walleye dinner one fillet can uncooked sent it back and waitress graciously took it back. So tge replacement fillet came uncooked. The owner came iver argued with us told us the fish was a pink fish. I tried to tell him walleye is a white flaky fish and he continued being loud and nasty to us. Found a resturant on my way to a Dr appointment. George's Cafe in the Bell Center on 99th Ave just south of Bell Rd. They were offering an all you can eat walleye & shrimp dinner that was outstanding. Great tartar sauce, cold cole slaw and crisp french fries. Service was fast and servers were nice. Wow! We had seen the ads for George's in the Sun City fliers and driving past Bell Center since we started visiting. We were always a bit apprehensive because, well, I'm a bit snooty about eating at a these types of establishments. My experiences have been of low quality and low quantity servings, with little to no service. Not at George's! I went in with low expectations and was flabbergasted. Mind you, this isn't white-table cloth dining. It's in Bell Center. It's situated right next to the bowling alley. (League was playing when we had our meal.) But what a MEAL! I had fried walleye, slaw, and salad. The dressing for the salad was homemade, the slaw was spot on, and the walleye was cooked to perfection. Not only was it well prepared, the serving was quite ample. It filled me up, which can be a challenge. The service was friendly and prompt. The atmosphere was bowling alley casual (STRONG POSITIVE). The entire experience was super positive. This is one of those places you cast aside predispositions of bowling alley chow, and enjoy! read more

Full service restaurant in a bowling alley? Sure beats the typical snack shop! They have the best Wall Eye Pike in the Phoenix metropolitan area. It is not on the menu but just ask for it. They cook fish to perfection! Never overcooked. We enjoyed everything we have tried thus far. read more
