    Machaca
    Gina B.

Stopped in here with my family, my 2nd time here and my husband and sons first. We were immediately seated, place was clean, staff were all friendly. Ordered the Machaca, husband got the same and my son had the chorizo. My son didn't like his chorizo said it was extremely greasy. My food was mid, really lacked flavor and my husband said the same. Not too sure we would be back.

Wife and I found ourselves on the west side and hungry so stumbled upon Country Griddle and glad we did! It's good! Just a nice friendly family owned place with your basic food items at a good price compared to other eateries trying to be fancy. I'm a fan of eggs Benedict and theirs did not disappoint. Classic and tasty. Hope to go back soon.

Still my favorite breakfast and lunch. The staff is always super friendly and the food comes out lightning fast! I tried he Machaca this time. Scoop it into their hot tortilla and yum! I noticed a plate of something I hadn't seen before. Our server, Sergio, told me that you could order the Huevos Rancharos with Carne Asada steak on top. Who knew. And my all-time favorite is their home fries (pressed potatoes). Did I mention yum? I love this place!

Breakfast at Country Griddle = pure comfort food goodness. This laid back local spot is known for homestyle breakfasts, fluffy pancakes, and all your classic favorites and it did NOT disappoint. I ordered the Classic Breakfast with turkey sausage, eggs, potatoes, and toast simple, hearty, and delicious. We also shared the Banana Nut French Toast... and wow sweet, fluffy, and totally worth the calories! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Local, cozy, and so good -- definitely coming back.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The service was pretty good and friendly.

This place is small but definitely mighty. The corn beef hash was delicious as well as the side of biscuits and gravy. My husband enjoyed his skillet breakfast as well. We would come back.

I was working in the area and jumped on yelp to see if any good spots to catch a quick bite and Country Griddle was on the top of the list. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance is chill, county decor, service was good.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We ordered pancakes, eggs, bacon, potatoes, with a side of biscuits and gravy. Everything was good but omething about the potatoes they were super delicious. The pancakes were good. My friend ordered avocado toast and she said it was really yummy. Hit this spot for some good home cooking and I recommend the potatoes 100%.

This cozy, no-frills restaurant absolutely delivers where it matters most--the food and service. From the moment we sat down, the friendly, attentive service made us feel right at home, and our food arrived quickly. We came for breakfast and truly didn't have a single complaint. Everything was delicious, with a clear home-style cooking touch that makes each dish feel comforting and thoughtfully prepared. The standout for me was the chilaquiles with red sauce--perfectly spicy, bold, and full of flavor. The warm, inviting atmosphere paired with genuine, family-style hospitality sets this place apart. Skip the typical breakfast chain restaurants and support this family-owned gem instead. Amazing food, friendly service, and home-style cooking will definitely have us coming back again when we're in the area.

Great breakfast spot. We were with a group of 4, plus a child and everyone enjoyed their meals. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Very cool little restaurant with a diner vibe.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The staff was super friendly and very attentive. I got the Huevos Ranchero which was excellent. The corn tortillas were very crisp and kept their crunchiness for the entire meal. The potato's were excellent. Made just the way I like them, nice and crunchy. The rest of my family really enjoyed their omelets and avocado toast. My grandson devoured his grilled cheese and fruit.

Simple sign, simple inside. Don't need a lot of money to make a good impression. I'm funny about my chilaquiles but they were good, a nice surprise. Service was great, staff was friendly. You could tell that people were happy and there was a wait as well. Nice family option for breakfast. Nice and clean restaurant.

Ugh Country Griddle was just a really great no frills breakfast spot!! It was pretty busy when we went but we were seated within minutes. The spot is pretty tiny and they make good use of the space and try to fit as many tables they can but it was super clean. Service was very friendly and efficient. We went with the farmers breakfast sandwich with bacon, country skillet which is biscuits and gravy and a waffle. The food was out pretty quick and everything was just really good home cooking. We will definitely be back for breakfast again!

My boyfriend and I wanted to try a new breakfast spot that was authentic and felt like homemade food. After looking up several places this morning, we decided to try County Griddle, my boyfriend ordered the classic French toast with sausage and eggs and a side of country fried potatoes. I ordered a bowl of Albondigas with a side of sourdough bread. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The food and service were an obsolete experience and the atmosphere and cleanliness was something you don't see much of these days.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The French toast is to die for and the Albondigas was a perfect servicing size. I loved that they were small meatballs, it felt like more in the soup. The country potatoes were something I recommend it wasn't oily, didn't feel heavy and it was the perfect servicing size for both of us to share. The restaurant was super clean and our server which I wish I would've gotten his name was kind and knowledgeable with everything we asked. Definitely coming back! And 10 minutes away from home :) didn't take pictures in the beginning so here's our in between. We ate basically every after

Stopped by Country Griddle on a busy Saturday morning for breakfast and luckily snagged the last available table. Despite how packed it was, the service was great, and we had a wonderful experience. I really appreciated that their menu had more than just the usual breakfast classics. We ordered the Local Moco and the Country Fried Steak. This was my first time trying Local Moco, and I loved it--the gravy was super peppery, which I really enjoyed. The country fried steak was solid as well. Overall, great service, tasty food, and a nice variety of breakfast options. Definitely a spot worth visiting!

We actually followed the owners here after frequenting their previous coffee shop, En Route. When they opened New Penny, supporting them was an easy decision. The café is thoughtfully divided into two distinct spaces: a family-friendly dining area and a lounge-style bar area geared more toward adults. The atmosphere is warm, cozy, and inviting. There are house-made dishes, local merchandise, a shaded patio, and plenty of charm throughout. My wife's favorites are the Breakfast Totchos and the Acai Bowl. Personally, I am also a loyal Breakfast Totchos fan. As for drinks, the Copper Coin and the legendary Cowboy Latte are both worth ordering. What truly sets New Penny apart, however, is the people. The owners and staff have created a space that feels inclusive, welcoming, and genuinely connected to the community. Support local businesses. Better yet, support local businesses that are doing things the right way. Get to know the owners. Get to know the staff. Places like New Penny don't just serve food and coffee--they create gathering places. Whether you're meeting a friend, taking a business meeting, enjoying a date, or simply looking for a quiet place to sit by yourself, New Penny delivers. One of my favorite local businesses, and one that my family will continue to support.

This is a smaller restaurant with limited waiting space inside, so some guests had to wait in their cars and check back for their table. The waiting area near the host stand was a little warm, although it felt much cooler once we were seated thanks to the ceiling fans. I'm not sure if the air conditioning was working properly. We did have to wait a little while before our waitress came to our table, but once she greeted us, she answered our questions about the menu. The hostess also offered some great recommendations, which we appreciated. We ordered the Waffletto Sandwich, the Mexican Omelette (which comes with a salad), the Chicken & Waffles, and two flavored lemonades. The Waffletto Sandwich was good, but for the price, I would have liked a little more meat. My recommendation would actually be to order one of their regular breakfast plates, which includes a half Belgian waffle along with eggs, meat, and hash browns. It seems like a better value and gives you more food for your money. My daughter really enjoyed the Mexican omelette and said it was very flavorful. The Chicken & Waffles were also tasty, although I personally would have preferred fewer onion strings on top of the waffle. I also think chicken wings or tenders would pair better with the waffle than the chicken breast that was served. The biggest disappointment was the lemonade pricing. The menu clearly listed the flavored lemonades for $5, but when we received our bill, we were charged $7.50 each. We brought this to our waitress's attention, and she explained that the higher price was due to the flavoring, syrup, and free refills. However, none of that was explained on the menu, nor were we informed about it when ordering. If the menu advertises a drink for $5, customers should either be charged that price or the menu should clearly state any additional charges. Accurate pricing is important, and management should ensure that the menu reflects the correct prices to avoid confusion and disappointment. If the current price is $7.50, the menu should be updated accordingly. Otherwise, customers should be charged the advertised price. Another thing that wasn't communicated was that the flavored lemonades include free refills. We only learned this after questioning our bill. Once we found out, we were able to get refills in to-go cups before leaving, which was a nice bonus. So, if you order one of their lemonades, be sure to ask for a refill or a to-go cup before you leave. Overall, the food was enjoyable, and there were a few dishes we liked. With better communication about menu pricing and drink refills, along with ensuring menu prices are accurate, the overall dining experience would have been much better.

Sorry, I ordered oat milk and not cows milk. Not sure why she'd be upset with me. The dining experience took a very long time as she even disappeared as we were looking to pay. The food looked better in the Yelp photos than it tasted and for the price, I could have saved our money and dirtied my kitchen and would have been happier overall. The host stand felt cold and unwelcoming, and the overall energy outside was a little off-putting. To be fair, the hostess was polite when she interacted with us directly, but the first impression was not warm. Once we were seated, Miguel turned the whole experience around. Since we are vegetarian, we have to ask extra questions about sauces, stocks, and hidden meat ingredients. Miguel was extremely helpful with navigating the menu and made sure the items with meat stock were removed or avoided. That kind of care matters a lot. The food was also pretty good. I had the South of the Border Omelette, and my wife had the burrito. Both were solid, and Miguel's service made us feel taken care of instead of like we were being difficult for asking questions. Coffee taste like Folgers and while each plate has a lot of ingredients, it doesn't have a lot of taste. We ordered the Lady Litchfield Omelette and breakfast burrito and while generous in portion the irony of the dishes was interesting. The omelette was chock full of veggies and minimal egg to wrap them, the burrito had a ton of egg and tortilla but minimal ingredients to taste. At the End of the Day I just don't feel like the experience warranted the $16+ price tag per meal. I'll come back in five more years and see if anything has changed.

I assumed my food was ready because it had already been 25 minutes since I ordered. I realized maybe it's not ready, my mistake, I sit down in the table near the counter. He's watching me sit down and the literal exact moment I sit down he yells out that my order is ready. And when I get up to go get it, that's when he starts putting it in the bag. He doesn't go to the kitchen or anything so I don't know if my order was just sitting there this whole time and he was just waiting for me to sit down for some reason? I'm in no rush so I don't care its been 35 minutes at this point so I give him the benefit of the doubt still, and move on. Stacks the tartar sauce as he's trying to put everything in the bag and the stack falls over and a sauce falls on the floor. He looks at me and looks at the floor then he looks around the sauce drawer and puts another 3rd sauce which I assumed was another tartar sauce. It ended up being ranch. I wouldn't have cared if he just told me that he was out of tartar sauce but I guess trying to deceive me with ranch is a better option. At this point I would've still given a 4 STAR or even 5 STAR review if the food held up because it's a local business and I don't want some weird bald guy deter people from good food. After my 2 minute drive home we opened our containers that held extremely soggy and half cold sweet potato fries. I ordered double fries with my fish so my pile of fries were double soggy and partly cold too. I ate 2 pieces of Fish Fry and they were alright. I would've ordered them again and I was excited because I had a huge piece of fish fry I was going to have next. However I realized it was 2 pieces of fish fry stuck together causing the stuck sides to be soggy and have semi uncooked breading. The biggest piece I was excited for was the biggest disappointment. The only saving grace was the Hatch Chili Burger. The beef patties were soft and cooked well, unlike the last 3 pieces of fish fry. We spent $40 dollars on the entire thing. And we only ate the burger and 2 fish from the meals. Super convenient location for food that I will be completely avoiding in the future. TLDR: Bad service if bald guy is there. Was told 15 minutes but food took around 30-35 minutes. Let's you guess if your food is ready or not after he has you pay. Waits for you to sit down to tell you it's ready when it was possibly just sitting infront of him. Drops tartar sauce and tries to sneak ranch instead of just telling me that he can't/doesn't wanna replace it. Get home, half of order is soggy&cold. ALL fries including upcharged fries were soggy. Only Hatch Chili Burger was good. SPENT $40 and it was 2 meals that were less than mediocre overall. Normally I can ignore most bad service/attitudes but this dude sucked and doesn't like to communicate with customers. Below are photos of what I thought was a "big piece" of fish fry flipped around and then after I separate the two pieces.

We had an Oasis suite and it was spacious and it looked newly renovated. The bathroom had both a tub and a walkin shower and we had a first floor room so we could walk directly to the adult pool. We went swimming every afternoon we were there and other than one person for 10 minutes, we were the only ones swimming. One nice thing is that they provide pool noodles so we could float to our hearts content. From the time we checked in, every person on their staff was helpful and friendly. We found when we checked in that the valets offered a free shuttle throughout the resort. So one night we went to the golf course and took a shuttle there. Since it was 112° it was a great alternative to driving or walking. If we had one quibble, the exterior of the resort, could've used an update. For example, the adult soft water pool surround was cracked in many places. I guess trying to grow grass in Phoenix in the middle of summer is difficult, but it made the common areas look unkempt. But overall, we loved everything else about the resort and would highly recommend staying here.

The family pool was extremely crowded with children, which is expected for a family-friendly resort. We spent most of our time at the adult pool, which was much quieter and child-free. Unfortunately, the adult pool area felt like an afterthought compared to the family side. Several tiles in the pool were broken, giving the area a worn and somewhat neglected feel. The lounge chairs were not as nice as those at the family pool, and the cabanas also seemed less inviting and less maintained. The food and beverage experience was another disappointment. There was no traditional menu available at the adult pool. Instead, you had to scan a QR code on the drink menu to access food options and then call in your order yourself. It felt inconvenient and took away from the relaxing resort experience. One bright spot was the poolside service. Our server was very attentive, friendly, and checked on us regularly throughout the day. She did a great job and provided excellent customer service. While the adult pool provided a quieter atmosphere, it lacked the quality and amenities I expected.

Funnily enough Harmony who worked at the Park West location has an identical Twin sister Mia, who works at this location. That was a fun surprise. We came for dinner and had some yummy pasta. Salmon Alfredo and Lemon Chicken ( minus the Chicken ) Both were super tasty and the garlic bread was toasty and perfect. Mango Matcha Arnold Palmer to drink. Service was excellent, which is per usual. They always take the best care of us. Clean and Quiet, just the way we like it! Beautiful bouquet of Blown glass flowers hanging in the middle of the restaurant. It's about 10 miles away from home for us to come to this location but so far we like the atmosphere here better than the Arrowhead location. But we will see. Happy Friday!

We've spent a lot here over the years and have always supported and recommended this location. That's why my son's recent experience was so disappointing. He stopped in to get some work done, something he's done many times during slow hours. Sometimes he buys something, sometimes he doesn't, and it has never been an issue. This has always been a welcoming place. This time, a staff member told him he couldn't sit and work unless he purchased something. What made it worse was the explanation: a table of eight older gentlemen "didn't like" that he was sitting there working, and that was the reason he needed to leave or buy something. It wasn't busy, it wasn't about space, and it wasn't about a policy. It was simply another group of customers not liking his presence, and the staff acting on that. After years of loyalty, that was incredibly disappointing. If there's a new policy, that's fine, just communicate it clearly and apply it consistently. Asking a long‑time customer to leave because another table "didn't like" them is not acceptable. This experience genuinely made us rethink continuing to support this location.
