I haven't been here in probably 2 years and I just didn't have a good experience. The food was subpar and really didnt have good flavor. It was pretty expensive for what you got, for example, biscuits and gravy were 14.55 and was 2 biscuits gravy and 2 eggs. You can get similar down the road for less than $10. The biscuits were hard and spongy and honestly tasted like they were made from canned biscuits, cooled and then heated up . The pricing is interesting as they added %to menu and you get a discount if not using a card to pay. Overall the food and service was not worth a $30+ breakfast of biscuits and eggs read more

Honestly this was very bad! Only good thing was the cinnamon roll. We got salted caramel ice coffees and it tasted like straight milk. French toast tasted like they just threw egg on the top then grilled it and the pancakes I just can't describe it the taste im lost for words how bad it was. The Meat Lovers Skillet I ordered was delicious. (I think that's the name. We didn't get a receipt.) I didn't care much for the hash browns but the onions and bell peppers improved the taste. It's very filling. Our server was very polite. We didn't get his name but he has an accent. Took my niece and nephew here. We enjoyed the food and service - cinnamon buns were huge and yummy! But on top of that we had a great conversation with the owner/manager. My nephew (11) wanted to trade some manual labor for another one of their iced mochas (I would have just ordered him one, but he wanted to wash dishes!) Obvi he couldn't bc of his age, but the manager stopped by our booth and chatted with us and just her taking the time out of a busy morning to get to know us and share her story and commend my nephew for wanting to earn his drink, really made a fun impression and meant a lot. My wife and I were looking for a new place to eat before we go grocery shopping and saw a little A-Frame sign on the sidewalk that said Richi's Diner so we had to give it a test drive. We pulled up to the parking area to see 2 spaces reserved for Purple Heart recipients and I was already impressed. The inside is big and clean so we sat down and placed our order. I had my hopes up for this place as I am on the hunt for a diner in my new area. It wasn't what I had hoped for breakfast, but I will try again for lunch. Sometimes places have their best meal you know? For breakfast we got the cinnamon roll, the standard breakfast, and the meat lovers skillet with avocado. I would say the cinnamon roll is less than thrilling if you're a cinnamon roll monster like me. I give it like a 3/10. It was very bready. I can see how it would be great for french toast that they offer, but not so much as a cinnamon roll solo and the frosting was way too sweet for cream cheese frosting - for my personal taste. I would not get it again. The standard breakfast was as expected. Basic. Nothing to write home about. I only ate one egg because I am really noticing how bright yellow (instead of golden) the yolks in the restaurants are becoming. The meat lover skillet was the best thing we ordered but the avocado was borderline. If I had to come back for breakfast I'd get that or try another skillet. Otherwise, I will be back for lunch to give that a shot! Sometimes lunch is better. The restaurant was clean. The staff was nice. Service was good and fast. read more

We had an early dinner at Richi's diner today. I had the Ground Sirloin steak and my wife had the Lasagna. The ground sirloin was delicious and cooked just the way I asked, it came topped with grilled onions and mushrooms, plus came with a side of real mashed potatoes topped with a generous crater full of homemade brown gravy, also included was a side of steamed vegetables. My wife's lasagna looked great and included a side of Texas toast. Both dinners came with either soup, salad, steak fries or Onion rings. We opted for the soup which was either clam chowder or lemon chicken; we each had one of the choices so we could try them both. Everything was delicious and as our server Susanna stated all made from scratch. Susanna our server was very attentive and very good natured and informed us if we didn't like either of the soups we could opt for the other choice. We were very pleased with everything and were happy to learn that the restaurant offered a loyalty program which was $5 off for every $100 in spending; also available was a 4% discount on the bill if we paid with cash . The restaurant was very clean and comfortable. Most of the customers seemed like regulars as Susanna seemed to be familiar with them, or it could have been she was just that friendly of a gal; very enjoyable. This is a favorite place I go to often. Today, I had the cheesesteak for the first time and delicious! Their food is always fresh and tasty with hearty portions and friendly, attentive service. Nice little place! They have a nice variety of breakfast items. I got the veggie scramble and it was pretty good. Kind of bland but it was a good healthier option and had hashbrowns with it. The service was great - I think we had Mary - and she was very sweet and attentive. My favorite thing was when we pulled up and saw the special parking spaces for Wounded Warriors. Service? What service - we were traveling with our two dogs and wanted to sit out on the patio so we didn't have to leave our pups in the truck. I went inside myself and asked before bringing our dogs to the outside entrance to the patio. When asked the lady said "we don't have a server working out there now. It was a Monday around 11:30 - there were like 8 people in the whole restaurant. You couldn't let a server help a potential customer out in 80 degree weather and make your employer another $40-$50??? That is POOR SERVICE - we visit Surprise often (my brother-in-law lives here) When we told him what happened here he said "you didn't miss much - they did you a favor". My mom and I had lunch here recently, and atmosphere is strange to say the least. Def leopard type music on blast at 11AM is NOT the vibe you'd expect for a diner, especially one that sees elderly customers as their majority. An old couple sat 2 booths away from us while we waited for our lunch. Every other word the older man spoke was a LOUD f bomb. Very unsettling and disturbing. After enduring about 15 minutes of the most foul language I've ever heard outside of rap music, I kindly asked his waitress to please have him lower his voice and refrain from using such vulgar language. She proceeded to go to his table, point at my mom and I, then told him we were uncomfortable. Highly inappropriate and unprofessional of her. He then stared at us continuing to spew his vile rhetoric, making our dining experience very difficult to enjoy. Additionally, their lemon rice soup was SO incredibly salty that we could not even eat it. I had asked for ranch while ordering and essentially finished my meal before our waitress remembered to bring it to our table. All the while, our server was eating and finishing mouthfuls of food while asking us about our meal. This diner has a nice nostalgic feel to it. Food is pretty good and you won't leave Disappointed. Service is on par with most diners. Servers are attentive and will refill your coffee without being asked. Where this diner Falls short is on their pricing. Pricing is higher than average on a simple Egg breakfast. Where they lost me was asking me for an additional 3% to use my credit card. Unfortunately, I will not go back because of this. The hours on the web are different than those on the door of the place. It was a little off putting to drive down there only to find that they weren't open on Wednesday afternoon as the Yelp listing said that they were open until 8 pm. If you Google RD it shows them closing many days at 2 pm but search them on Yelp and it says 8. The owner should get this straightened out. read more

Roadside diner for sure! The owner is friendly and works the front of the house quite often. Miranda is a gem of a server. After getting my passport was looking for a nearby breakfast place. This place popped on. Server was friendly and the breakfast was good. To be fair I did not notice that it was run down at first some of the bench chairs were torn and could use some improvements. But overall we had a good meal and pricing was decent. I could see myself coming back if In the area. I will say if ur expecting something nicer again u will notice they need a renovation but I still think it is a good place for the food. This restaurant is under new management. We went a couple years ago and we enjoyed it then. It is a rather large restaurant. We didnt have to wait very long for a table, which is a bonus in my book. We have friends that moved from Northern California to Surprise last year. We had a breakfast spot in Cali that we went to frequently, and Richi's reminds us of that place. We like that it is family owned. The menu offerings were manageable. A good variety, but not so many things that would have our heads whirling with indecision. The service we had was outstanding. The coffee was average. We all liked our food. The bacon was crispy, not burnt. I had pancakes that were not heavy like some places. Hubby had chicken fried steak and it was pretty good.
