We picked The Toast because it was conveniently located in the same parking lot as our agency ,and we had just finished signing the closing documents for our very first home so we were definitely ready to celebrate! When we walked in, we immediately loved the atmosphere. The restaurant is small, intimate, casual, and relaxed exactly the kind of place my husband and I enjoy. We were seated and told that Patrick would be our waiter. A wonderful young woman came by to take our drink order, and she was so polite and sweet. It did take a little while for Patrick to come over and take our food order, which initially made us feel a little uneasy and somewhat neglected, especially since the restaurant wasn't very busy. But once we got our order in, things completely turned around! The fried calamari appetizer was a 10/10 seriously, so good! For dinner, we ordered the shaved beef sandwich with cheese on a baguette, with rosemary fries on the side, and it was SO delicious. The mocktails we ordered to celebrate were also really good and made our little celebration even more special. Overall, we had a great experience and would definitely recommend The Toast! Had a girls night here. We sat on the patio bc that is how we could order from the HH menu. I got the eggplant and goat cheese pasta- there were 2 small eggplant pieces and they were tough to cut into (maybe overcooked or the breading?). Taste was fine, nothing spectacular. This place is our staple when we come to visit the Surprise area. They have a wonderful menu and always has a great special happening on each day. Thai pay trip I ordered the Mediterranean lemonade which had a sweet and sour taste to it. It was so refreshing and delicious. This restaurant is right next door to the salon I go to. My husband reached out to me asking, "Can you bring food home so we don't have to cook tonight?" I've been to Toast 2-3 times for brunch but never tried dinner, so it was conveniently screaming at me online to order takeout, which I did. I got my husband the Steak and fries entree which he enjoyed tremendously. I really liked my lamb bolognese which was really filling, but my husband also finished mine since I was slow eating and he "wanted just a bite but ended up finishing it." It's very flavorful and I would definitely order that again, or the lamb burger next time since I was stumped on which I wanted more. The fried goat cheese balls covered in honey and pistachios are the best thing we ordered tonight and it was an appetizer, but I could picture ordering 3 of these apps and eating them as an entree. Haha! My fat, sugar loving brain also decided to order the lemoncello tiramisu for dessert, so yeah, there's that. The Toast was amazing in all areas. A friend and I had a late lunch, so we missed the lunch rush. We ordered goat cheese balls and coconut shrimp for appetizers. The coconut shrimp wasn't overloaded with coconut, which I liked, because you could taste how tender and fresh the shrimp was. The goat cheese balls were light, cheesy, and tasty. I had The Armenian, chicken, hummus, and a sauce I couldn't remember, tucked into delicious fresh pita bread. I also had an espresso martini. Coconut Creme Pie, Limoncello Tiramasu, and Chocolate Chip Bread Pudding confection. All three were great, but my favorite was the bread pudding. We had a vodka martini and a cosmo. Both were executed well and were fair pours. The tahini cauliflower is tops in my book. My friend had wanted to try this restaurant for a while so we stopped in yesterday for dinner. The service was great but I was extremely disappointed in the dish named EGGPLANT with Goat cheese. Since the menu gave the perception that the main course would be Eggplant I was disappointed when the dish arrived and on a small bed of pasta there were 3 Medallions of eggplant. they looked like a garnish. The small circles of eggplant were so thin that it could have been anything. It looked like they ran out of eggplant and over breaded some vegetable and deep fried it.
