Had lunch with my husband and in-laws here today and it was fantastic. I love the atmosphere, dark woods, the long bar, but still able to have a conversation when the place isn't super packed. Our server checked in with us multiple times and was super considerate, giving us privacy when he noticed we were having a deep discussion. Our food was fantastic. I've been here before with my husband and other friends but this was their first time. They've traveled to Ireland and England before so they were eager to try the Bangers and Mash to compare them. They had no complaints and almost finished it all off. They were thrilled to have leftovers though! Hubby ordered the Fish N Chips and the fish was super moist and tender, the batter light and crispy without being too crispy. He's usually not too into French fries, but he polished off the chips pretty quickly. I had the Irish Breakfast and it was amazing. Two fried eggs but with a warm, silky, runny yolk that I mopped up with the thick slab of brown bread was a great start. The black and white puddings were a wonderful surprise as the black pudding wasn't too mineral-tasting like some blood sausages can be to me. I actually wanted more! The fried potatoes were delightfully fluffy on the inside with a slight crispness on the outside. Got called a n****r (in spanish) by a customer last night and then when I told the bartender and security they did nothing but say "i didn't hear it personally" and "im sorry that happened". Told the guy we could settle it outside and some. They kept serving the joker. We got escorted out. Drinks were all good, sound place. Staff need to grow a backbone. read more

I don't mean to brag, but I've been to Ireland once. But after going here it feels like I've been twice. They actually pour Guinness the right way, just like how they showed me at the Guinness factory (humble brag). The food and atmosphere are also almost identical to what you can get at the Emerald Isle. Really great find, great service too. Love how it's locally owned as well. Only complaint is on St Patrick's day, the food and drinks are all very different and not as good. But you're really there for the party atmosphere on that day. Walking into the Irish Wolfhound is truly stepping across the pond. The vibe is very authentic Irish pub with heavy, dark wood bar and tables eith comfortable chairs - I wish there were more booths but I guess I'm just picky. Our dinner food came out quickly and was hot, fresh, and packed with flavor. We also ordered dessert, which vame out quickly, but was not as impressive as our main courses. Finally made it to the Irish Wolfhound. Needed a date night with the hubby that as low key and this was perfect. Has the total Irish pub ambiance. The bartender was amazing. She was managing the entire bar on her own and was doing it impeccably well and with a kind demeanor. We had the Irish fish chowder and fish and chips - delicious! The guiness beer batter coating was think and crispy and the fish was thick k and juicy. This is a great spot to chill for great food. read more

This experience was a let down. My husband wanted fish and chips. The first place we were going to order from did not take orders over the phone. I thought about this restaurant because it's next to our favorite Mexican restaurant. We called and placed a to go order for Fish & Chips. She made it sound appealing. It would be ready in 10 minutes. When we arrived there was a sign that said please seat yourself. However, there was no direction for picking up an order. I walked over to the right employee and asked where I would pick up. She stated the name and I confirmed. When she realized I was paying with cash when went to get the food. FYI There is a cc surcharge which is taken off if paying with cash. My husband was disappointed with the entire meal including the breaded fish fillet, fries, coleslaw and tartar sauce. No flavor. Last night was my first time visiting this Pub. I thought it held a cute little Irish Pub feel that I've only seen on tv. Our waitress was amazing (the ticket said Katrina) so hopefully that was her. There was a live band there as well. I must say that the fish sandwich was delicious. And I got the Guinness flight to try out. There's also a jug called a growler for $25 and your first beer fill is free. If you're a frequent patron, refills are $19. There were also people in the back playing pool and I saw a couple of kids. Packer bar!! Small bar and eatery in surprise Arizona. Inside the atmosphere holds a Irish Dublin feeling with the rustic wood and dark interior. There is some packer memorabilia in the back area. Good selection of different beers, mostly from Ireland. Food was good and served Hot. Fish and chips was bar none (good). Couple people in our crowd said the steaks were excellent. Big fan as a Notre Dame Alumni but tonight's issue may detour me. We ordered food and drinks, paid the bill and decided we wanted to have more drinks. We ordered some shots and other drinks but when we ordered another round of shots they never arrived. We asked the waitress about them and we were told they were delivered and they were not. So after disagreements with the manager she left went and got the 3 missing shots, problem solved right...no they added 3 more shots to our bill that we didn't agree to and when I asked about it the manager was argumentative and actually rolled her eyes when I shared my concerns over it and then stated we agreed to it and I didn't and I was paying the bill. End of day we never got the 3 missing shots and then got charged for 3 more that we didn't order. Terrible experience. Right thing was to just refund the 3 shots or comp the 3 shots to begin with. Such a disgrace and not sure I'll ever be back now. So disappointing as a regular and I spend so much time there watching Irish football. I'm saddened by this experience. read more

Our last time here was not good, mostly due to the bad service, and my review reflected that. I'm happy to upgrade my review after this visit. We did fish & chips on Friday and it was excellent. Went on a Sunday to watch a football game. Place was busy and it took awhile to get acknowledged/provided a drink. The staff were working very hard-it appeared they needed extra staff for a Packer game. We sat at the bar and Hannah was a top notch server. Very attentive and friendly. Seemed to know the " regulars"/what they drink etc. (Always good for a bartender!) Enjoyed the make your own Bloody Mary bar but some beef stick/cheese garnish would be good! This is a Packer bar! My husband had fish sandwich and fries. Said it was great. Large portion of flaky properly cooked fish on tasty bun. I had the Philly sandwich and coleslaw. Very good-enough for 2 people. Lots of TVs to watch the game, plenty of tables and great outdoor space. Can't go wrong with an Irish bar! Glad we stopped in for first time. We will return in future. read more

What a great irish pub with great food. We go there for their all you can eat Fish Fry on Fridays, but this trip we decided to go for a Saturday lunch. Let me tell you the fish dish has an 8oz piece of fish! The friends I brought were amazed at the size. It is well worth ordering. They have your choice of Irish beer and my mom is a Guiness fan so we each got one with our meal! Service is great and quick and the meal very well prepared. I have been coming to the Wolfhound for many years and just now discovered something bizarre. I was charged both a food tax and a regular tax on my bill. So I looked up food tax for Surprise and there was a statement about it on AI. So I went to the Mexican restaurant right next and a diner that is up the road about 4 miles or so. Saint Patty's day event was fun and festive. Live music and Irish dancers made it fun. Drink prices were good. There was a fixed menu for St. Patrick's Day, which limited options which you can understand based on crowds and restaurant ability to accommodate. I was a regular at the Irish Wolfhound in Surprise for approximately 10 years. Most of my friends go there, and historically it has been a good environment. On this visit, after not being there for about a month, I was served drinks and spent the last hour on the back porch with a group of friends playing Uno. Without prior warning or explanation, the bartender, Paul, told me I had to leave. Security then instructed me to exit. After I was outside, the police were called and informed that I was being violent. When officers arrived, they spoke with me and then advised me to have a good night and left without further action. After many years as a customer, this experience was disappointing. If there was an issue, it could have been addressed in a clearer and more professional manner. Very good service, friendly and quick. Jerylin answered our questions and provided suggestions for this, our first visit. We arrived on Memorial Day for lunch. A memorial was set near the entrance to the restaurant as a reminder- it was very thoughtfully presented- with the empty chair. We enjoyed the sliders and shepard's pie with chowder. All of the dishes needed a splash of salt, but were otherwise well prepared. We also ordered a side of curry chips. The curry was flavorful with a small bit of spice. It was an okay rendition of Shepherd's Pie. A ladle of filling for the base, a ladle of mash on top sprinkled with cheese. I will try something else the next time. Friendly atmosphere. I love the vibe at Irish, however, the last several times the beer on tap tastes like dirty socks. I have had to trade my tap beer for a bottle three times since last May. I think they need to clean their machines. I don't know if it's all the beers, but it is definitely 805 and kilt lifter. The worst part is that no one seems to give a crap at all. When I took it back to the bar, they acted like I was crazy. I said just taste it and you will see exactly what I'm talking about. Brittney was a wonderful server! Truly terrific in every way! From replacing a split drink at no charge to allowing me (an adult) to order a kid's meal - she continued to serve with a smile all night. Most of our table ordered the fish & chips. Some opted for all you can eat and some just ordered the dinner option. Either way, she kept the fish coming! As for the food, it was mediocre at best. The fish was good, but the fries lack all flavor and weren't crispy. The coleslaw was just plain bad. On the other hand, the side salads (garden and Cesar) most of us ordered were terrific! Fresh, decent size and the croutons were SO GOOD! I was told they're made with Irish soda bread and let me tell you - the best! They offered live music on a packed Friday night which was fun, and they sang a bunch of older songs, perfect for the mostly 70+ crowd.
