Generally good value for money on the food but beware of the upcharge for truffle fries! I have enjoyed eating at other State 48 locations and have been keen to try this one out. Upon entering, there is a stench from the bathrooms near the host stand. Not a great start. Service was very average. The kitchen added an extra ingredient that wasn't listed on the menu for the dish I ordered. When I inquired about it with my server he opted to tell me that this is how the dish is normally made despite 1) the ingredient not being listed on the menu 2) the fact that I've had this exact dish at the DTPHX location without the extra ingredient. I felt there was a missed opportunity by this server to care or try to take accountability. There is an unusually high upcharge (in my opinion) if you want to do truffle fries instead of regular fries with your entree. To be honest, I'd skip the extra $5 charge and just go with the regular fries, both are good but $5 is steep for some last min truffle oil, parm & parsley.. May give this location another try, perhaps for takeout next time. read more

Stopped in for happy hour beers and snacks. Sat at outside bar and Jazz was our sweet bartender.Love their Cherry Sour beer but also had the Mexican lager which was tasty too. State 48 Brewery absolutely delivered. I ordered the State 48 Burger (the one with the fried pickles on it), and it was juicy, flavorful, and perfect. My friend went with the Beer Cheese Burger with bacon jam, and it was rich, indulgent, and downright delicious. I topped it all off with a Porn Star Martini, which was smooth, balanced, and strong enough to mind its business. Bonus points: you can take beer to go, which honestly feels like a public service. Shoutout to Bri, our server, who was AWESOME--friendly, attentive, and genuinely made the experience better without hovering or disappearing. She knew her stuff and kept the vibes right. First, we had to wait three minutes to be seated. The hostess was in the back somewhere. Then we sat down and asked about happy hour and she said it's half off wine on Thursdays. Went last night because it is always a fan favorite for fungi pizza. Pizza was stiil great, but everything else was lacking. We sat at the bar and for the first time felt like we were bothering the bartender whenever asking fof anything, like another round of beers. The entrance (on the inside) was covered with leaves. I know it was a little breezy, but the 2 hostess were sitting there on their phones when we walked in and left. And the bathroom was a mess and smelled horrible. Let's start with the good. The food was excellent. I enjoyed my Rodeo burger and side salad, with a Diet Coke. Everything food-wise was great. The portions were giant and came out hot and fresh. My companion's Steak Cobb was also well-received. However, at 1 PM on a Wednesday, where there were less than 10 tables occupied, our food took about 45 minutes to arrive (again, fresh and tasty.) Then, when we asked for a check, that took about 10 minutes to arrive. The service was incredibly slow and our server did not seem to think anything of it. Cute place, but there are some problems that would make me choose other restaurants over this one. First, no prices on the beer menu. Fine... I have had a lot of craft beer and have a good idea of the cost. We found out when we got the bill that our pints were $14 each. Are you kidding me? Eddie is a great bartender. Always attentive. The white pizza is one of the best I've had. We haven't had a bad meal yet. We really enjoy the Barrel Room. All the staff is great. They have a huge selection of tequila, whisky, and scotch. If you can find something to drink here it would be shocking. They also have a nice wine selection. During the week it's a nice place to relax after a busy work day. Fridays tend to be a little busy but not crazy. We come here often. read more

A few of us are from CA and were visiting friends in AZ. We decided on checking out this spot for a late lunch and a drink. The drinks were great and the food was amazing! In particular, the Buffalo Chicken Dip was sooooo good. Most of all, Rachel, our server, was extremely welcoming, attentive, and accommodating. I came in the other day with a co worker and decided to try this place out for lunch. Love that this place has an indoor and outside seating area. It also has a bar you can come after work as well to enjoy some drinks. The staff was pleasant to work with and the service was accommodating. I tried the Brisket sandwich that came with cheddar cheese, Jalapeños and a side of fries. I was expecting a great sandwich since I love brisket but the meat was a bit dry for me. It didn't have that fresh taste to it as I was expecting. The fries were good and the overall experience was okay. Most likley last time we will be here as there are so many wonderful choices where people are nice and food is good.
