I will start by saying it's a shame because this place has real potential! The crafted cocktails are the highlight as they are beautiful, original, and tasty. The food is good for the most part, but some items are overpriced. An example is the bisque cheesecake at $15 as it was on the small side, round about the size of a flan. It was presented nicely w berries, but not worth $15. I am from CA and not even there! The main issue I had was with the ricotta, pesto and tomato jam jar. This was more like pesto, with Ricotta. The Ricotta being listed first by any culinary standard should be the main feature. But the tapered dish had a small amount of ricotta at the bottom, about a fourth, then half the jar full of pesto, then top fourth of tomatoes.(see picture). I couldn't even dig down to get the ricotta and the huge amount of pesto was overpowering. I politely brought this to the waitresses attention by kindly saying I wanted to give some feedback and explained the expectation and that there was very little ricotta and hard to get to it. She handed me a spoon and a plate and I tried in front of her to get to it and said that's not working. She did say she would give the feedback to "them", but did not offer to replace it or fix it. Perhaps offering to bring more ricotta? For the rest of the evening she did not address the situation and I only ate two small bites and sent the entire dish back. At the end of the meal when I saw this was added to my bill, which I should add was $84 plus tip, over $100, w ricotta being $18 for just me not including the other two at the table, I asked if anything could be done about the ricotta dish that I did not eat. She said she would ask, but came back and said her manager said no because this was just my preference!! I felt sorry for the waitress. If the wait staff is not empowered to resolve these issues on their own then the manager should have come to the table! I said okay, paid the bill and left. They lost a repeat customer!! **Contrary to what management stated below, no accommodation was offered or made besides handing me a spoon and a plate. Also, the promise to discuss w mgmt was not followed up on until I received the bill and reminded the waitress which felt like avoidance, 1.5 hours after I sent the dish back. Perhaps there is a communication breakdown or misunderstanding, but my issue was the excessive amount of pesto (a sauce) and small amount of ricotta. Management prefers to argue and defend (without the facts) vs find a solution and humbly accept feedback. I am a manager myself in the luxury market...and customer feedback is at the heart of growth.

It's a half pound angus burger with lettuce, tomato, pickle, pepper jack, and guacamole. I asked for my burger medium rare, and it was took perfectly. The bun was a bit dry. The place wasn't busy but it took 40+ minutes for the food to arrive only to find pancakes that were barely cooked... literally dough, potatoes that seemed to be a mix of old and new (some severely undercooked and cold) and a veggie Benedict that came out 15 minutes after the rest with a runny and very sour tasting sauce, needless to say we didn't eat each much of it and ended up having to get food elsewhere. Really not sure what to make of it, the reviews suggest a similar Jekyll and Hyde situation where it's a crap shoot as to what you're going to get... it's all well and good being scratch made but if you can't cook the food it doesn't matter. With the price of eating out these days being so high, we will be needing to take our business elsewhere which is really unfortunate as we loved this place. Pricing of foods were good and I got chicken tacos that were really good and a root beer for under $19. One interesting thing is they tack on a "credit card fee," don't recall the last time I've seen that, and it was $0.86 based on my bill. The moment you walk in, you feel it. The atmosphere is beautiful, warm, relaxing and welcoming. Add in a great wine selection, the fun self-pour experience, beer options and incredible food, and they've created something unique. They first got me on Taco Tuesday. The tacos were so good that after finishing my first order, I immediately ordered another one. That was all it took. Then I brought my wife. As we were walking out after her first visit, she looked at me and said, "I want to have my birthday here." That's exactly what we did and MT Barrel absolutely knocked it out of the park. The owners were genuinely excited to host her birthday and basically took care of everything, which also made me look like an awesome husband! They created a curated wine and food pairing experience for our group, and the food was absolutely incredible. I'm not exaggerating. Everyone had a wonderful time, and people couldn't stop talking about both the food and the overall experience. But maybe the best endorsement came afterward: my wife became a member. Now she's already talking about bringing her friends back to meet great people, enjoy great wine and spend time in a place that feels like part of the community.
