It was honestly comical. I thought I walked in on a terrible argument. The girl who took my order was snippy and I felt rushed (I don't eat here much, so maybe I was slow, but I was also the only customer in the place). Not a smile from any of the three. Paid $25 for two small sandwiches and walked out wondering if they were going to stab me in the back for daring to come in and make them do their jobs (it was 5:30 PM). Last Saturday, October 5th, my father in law stopped at this Jersey Mike's location and picked up sandwiches on the way over to house. Mine had no condiments. I emailed corporate office and haven't received a response. I called the site and spoke to the manager today. He told me because my father in law was in house he told them not to put the toppings on. Well that's weird because my husband's sandwich had his toppings and my father said I don't know what he wants. WTF? Where is the customer service now days? I told the manager we won't be coming to their location any longer, we have 2 others here in Surprise. By the way I went in two weeks prior to this and had an online order that should have Ben done before I even walked in the door and it wasn't. I have always gotten a delicious sandwich from Jersey Mike's other locations until now. A friend ordered to go. I wanted Italian, add peppers, oil & vinegar on the side. My sandwich had NO lettuce or tomato AND no oil & vinegar on the side! The white bun was slightly burnt (first time ever!) Definitely a disappointment! And my friend said their attitude was horrible like they could care less if they made a sale or not. OK, this is a definite no no no parking was terrible. I went in. I ordered a regular sub. My friend ordered the large grande and then when we got to the cash register, we were run up and charged for two grande size sandwiches which weren't even great so two sandwiches for $45 not good and not to mention I didn't have a grande sandwich I had a regular Size sandwich I don't know if it's a $50 bill or $100 bill but the guy was like sorry we can't take it and he went to go throw our food away. The guy who made my family's sandwiches was very nice and helpful. Although he was sweet his 2 female coworkers were VERY rude. We walked in and both looked at eachother and rolled their eyes. While standing in line to look at the menu both girls were laughing and whispering about my family. We were not being rude whatsoever or being loud. While we ate our food and had our weekend lunch together both girls were giggling and giving us ugly looks. Took my money, gave me no food and denied a refund! I placed an order to this location on the app and was told only when we went to pick it up that they had NO bread of any kind so they couldn't make any sandwiches. Then we were told they couldn't refund us because we ordered online and to request the refund via the method were ordered. Ok, only that when you do that it simply directs you to contact the specific store for a refund. Still trying to give them the benefit of the doubt I call the store back. I ordered two subs one was a Philly Steak sub, tried to tell him what I wanted on my sub he would not listen to me, he advised the girl down the counter would take care of the toppings. Went in yesterday and got a BLT on a gluten free bun for a wheat allergy. It was great to see them taking precautions, especially when I asked for mayo and they got a separate bottle from a different area instead of the mayo everyone uses (to avoid cross contamination). I asked for it to be toasted and they said that's in the beginning, but no one asked me if I wanted it toasted in the beginning. They offered to toast it after I asked, but they had already put all the veggies and mayo in it so I said never mind. I wasn't sure how much I'd like it but decided to try because it's one of their best sellers. Also. Looked like a good vehicle for the amaze jalapeño jelly I was not disappointed. I liked this way more than I thought I would. Normally I go for the cheesesteak. Because. You know. Cheesesteak. But this is now my second favorite sandwich sorry tuna salad. You're now #3. My Daughter says no but I am pretty sure tonight was the first time I ever ordered a sandwich from Jersey Mike's. I love a good Sub Sandwich and here they slice the meat and cheese fresh for each sandwich- old school deli style. I always get the most flavorful bread they have (Parmesan) and generally tell them to 'run it through the garden' Ok here we say 'have it Mike's way' which is lettuce, tomato slices and sliced onions plus oil & vinegar and spices. Huge shoutout to Haley killing it working on your Surprise location today. The line was getting longer by the minute and the one other employee I saw was pretty Mia. She not only kept cool under pressure, she took all the orders, helped with Uber eats, made all the sandwiches , cashier and phone. Her customer service skills shined through, she apologized for the delays and although the wait for our food was longer than normal it was great to see someone who not only cared about their job( and was great at it) she also made sure as customers we felt appreciated. Went to Jersey Mike's in Surprise where we have been going for years and find out that they have stopped offering the Veterans Discount which is one of the reasons we supported this store for many years. We asked a store employee why the discount was taken away and they said that this store was a franchise and they stopped giving the discount even though they recently raised their menu prices. Yes, I understand the big ones are more money, it just doesn't seem right spending just shy of $20 per sandwich, when other places are half the price for pretty much the same thing. I completely understand food costs and what it costs to run a business, so asking for tips at checkout is salt on the wound. Speaking of, employees seemed bored. Customers are jerks these days and service workers like this suffer so, I feel this is part of the issue plaguing the location. Something something underpaid and understaffed.
