Five star food always! The brisket that I ordered for a family event was perfect and unforgettable. The team had included a full-blown handwritten birthday card as well as a couple extras for free 'just because'. Mission BBQ always goes above and beyond - their food always exceeds my expectations & the restaurant is always packed with families (and extra clean might I add) Thank you to your awesome team for having CONSISTENT, bada** food/service. Mission BBQ - So rad! - Barbeque Near Me - Surprise, Arizona

I went here so my sister would stop bugging me. She kept asking "when are you going to mission BBQ??" She's so annoying. Apparently she really liked it back east. Well I hate to say it but she was right for once, and only once, this place is great. The meats were great of course. Mac and cheese incredible. And the service was friendly and kept the place clean. The place was also decorated paying homage to our troops read more

Food was amazing - very delicious- I love the interior setup - all the patches - incredible. Our waiter was super nice and friendly- she constantly checked up on us. Very clean environment- all the staff were friendly and greeted us as we entered. My son is currently in the AirForce and I FaceTimed him while I was there- he was amazed and wanted to go there whenever he is in town. Thank you again for giving my family such great hospitality. Mission BBQ - I got the three meat sampler! Bomb! - Barbeque Near Me - Surprise, Arizona

First time visiting Mission BBQ in AZ. I frequented the one in Tampa FL. I guess I felt a little nostalgic. Extremely friendly service. Even if my food was bad I'd still go back. Fortunately for me that is not the case! I got the classic link sausage with two sides: coleslaw and Mac n cheese. The sent me home with 6, yup 6 hot & spicy BBQ sauces. 2 of each. The links were just as I remembered. Mac n cheese was good. I even had a little cheese pull. Coleslaw was in point. Yep. I'll be going back! read more

Mission BBQ - Links, Mac n cheese, cornbread, coleslaw - Barbeque Near Me - Surprise, Arizona

Just tried this for the first time. From the moment we walked in and had paid for our meals. One of the cashiers had no idea how to get change back. Then I got my meal, which was half of a chicken and the coleslaw The rest of the chicken was so dry. I couldn't even eat it even with barbecue sauce on it and the coleslaw was something I've never tasted before and probably would never wanna taste it again. It had no flavor. So I can check this one off of my bucket list places to try. read more

Just beat the lunch crowd today, arriving at 11:20 am for an early lunch. This is our second time in and everything even better than last time. Customer service here is always top notch. A hostess walked by our booth today and saw Hub's Jalapeño Sausage. She recommended a mustard that goes really well with it, Georgiaah Mustard, then brought it over. Hubs agreed it was very good! Like a honey mustard. I ordered the moist brisket and smothered it in NC Vinegar Sauce that sits in a glass bottle on every table and it was delicious! A roll of paper towels and a six-pack of bbq sauces from different regions is on every table too. We ordered: - Bottle of Cheerwine - Fountain Drink - Brisket, Moist with Corn Bread, sides of Granny's Sweet Potato Mash, Kickin' Collard Greens. My large pile of sliced fresh and hot moist brisket really hit the spot today. These Collard Greens are THE BEST. You must try them. The whipped airy and creamy Sweet Potato mash with browned breadcrumbs on top was very good as well. - 3 Meat Sampler (Pulled Pork, Brisket, Jalapeño Sausage) with Corn Bread, Maggie's Mac-N-Cheese, Kickin' Collard Greens. Hubs loves these Collards too. I bet even kids would like these. I ended up dipping my cornbread in the collard juices. read more

Came for lunch and unbeknownst to us, got there right when they opened. The line was immediately to the door and rightfully so. Best BBQ in town. We shared the two meat tray with brisket and pulled pork. The meat was so tender and I loved trying all the BBQ sauces. We got fries and mac and cheese for sides. I'm usually not impressed with mac and cheese at restaurants but this one was so good! Super cheesy! And the hand cut fries, fav. The free cornbread was a nice touch but it was a little dry. I love the hero cup program that they do and it's nice you can pick $1 off a combo or a 99 cent refill if you bring the cup back in. Customer service was great. The girl at the register was happy to explain the menu to us. I love all the pictures, patches and memorabilia on the wall We will be back!! read more

Mission BBQ is absolutely outstanding! The food was delicious, the portions were generous, and everything came out fresh and full of flavor. The BBQ was cooked perfectly, and you can really tell they take pride in what they serve. What stood out the most was the amazing customer service. Everyone was friendly, welcoming, and made the whole experience enjoyable. The atmosphere was great, and I really appreciated the patriotic and military-focused atmosphere that makes Mission BBQ feel different from your average restaurant. From the food to the service to the atmosphere, everything was top-notch. I'll definitely be coming back and recommending Mission BBQ to friends and family. Great food, great people, and an even greater experience! Highly recommend! read more

We found our way over to the newly open Mission BBQ restaurant last month and we've been back several times since. Their new location in Surprise, AZ is welcoming, the food and service are top notch!! We had the pulled pork & brisket and went back to try their burgers & fries-yum, and recently tried the shrimp special. There's plenty of parking and as of 8/2025 there is some construction going on so be cautious of changing traffic signs. As you enter through the main doors, there is a space dedicated to the memory of the events of 9/11/2001. This heartfelt space is a special, and thoughtful remembrance specially since we are a 9/11 Family living in AZ. During the usual lunch & dinner times expect this place to be hoping and extremely busy. This does not take away from the customer service just know to be patient as you may need to wait for a table to open up. We are so happy to have a Mission BBQ close to us, finally!! read more

The BBQ meat here is good, but not great. You stand in line and place your order at one of the available registers at the counter, like you would at Rudy's, and then find your seat and listen for your name. The smell inside is fantastic with all of their smoked air. The tables have brown paper towels on a holder, and a small box holding 6 different sauces. There's even some vinegar to put some sour on your puss. The verdict on the food, which will be compared to Naked Q at Westgate, as they have the best meat on this side of the valley, is as follows: - Baby Back Ribs: Too salty and overcooked. I appreciate fall off the bone meat, but there's a point of no return with ribs. - Brisket Burnt Ends: The flavor and the texture are not there, which is weird, as they seemed more meaty than Naked Q, but having less fat means less flavor. - Pulled Pork: Just as good as Naked Q. - Mac-n-Cheese: Very creamy with a sharp tang and breadcrumb top. Better than Naked Q. - Baked Beans: Disappointing, as they seemed like a sweet, canned, product, like Bush's. They did have some meat, and are better than Naked Q. We'll be back to try the moist brisket and pulled pork sandwich. Also, they do have a birthday club, if you're hankering for some free chow! read more

Hubby and I went in to eat since we did take out the first time. I love the happy faces and great service, definitely starts the experience right when you open the door! I got the lean brisket which truly was lean and so flavorful. It also had a nice smoke ring too! He got the smoked burger and enjoyed it. It tasted like it had a blend of meat which enhanced the flavor. (Smoked bacon on top would be a solid upgrade option) As a side we got the fries and they accidentally gave me fries too lol but that's a good problem to have. Those fries were perfect and the cook on them was crispy and golden, which was amazing for it being national French fry day today lol! Excited for BBQ! BBQ is about the Brisket and Ribs for me, that's why I go and try BBQ. This was a tough one. So I'm going to have to break it into tiers. *** average food **** above average food ***** Unique and delicious food 5 Stars Mac and Cheese - nice crust on top, creamy but not goopy with good flavor. Green Beans - great flavor and nice pieces of bacon. Potato Salad - light and not overly creamy. Fresh and crunchy vegetables that provided a nice texture contrast that I really enjoyed! BBQ Sauces - an actual wide range of different sauces and flavor profiles. My favorites were the Baja and Tupelo. Brownie - maybe the best restaurant brownie I've ever had. Rich but not. Chewy but a little bit of crunch on the edge. 4 Stars Jalapeño & Cheese Sausage - nice balance of heat and sweet. Not too spicy at all. Really nice overall flavor. Classic Sausage - A quality, well prepared, simple piece of sausage. Baby Back Ribs (not pictured) - in the middle of fall off the bone and doesn't fall off the bone. I enjoyed the texture difference. Nice subtle flavors. Fries - lightly salted, crispy and had unique flavor and texture. Pulled Pork - nice smoke flavor with little parts charred providing texture and more flavor. 3 Stars Brisket - On two separate days, the brisket here was just okay. Okay flavor. The moist cuts and lean cuts were dry and lacked a good bark (for my liking), and not much of a smoke ring. CornBread - this is hit or miss. Day one is was dry, day two it was softer. Both days it was just cornbread, nothing special. Strawberry Shortcake - the strawberries were sliced to a perfect size. The cake was not dry. It was good, but like the cornbread, it was simply okay. Overall, the prices are more than reasonable compared to other BBQ restaurants. Their sides and brownies are absolutely delicious. I hope the Brisket gets better. Open for 2 days now! The atmosphere is very family friendly and extremely welcoming. The staff are very attentive, friendly and professional. read more

We are probably biased being from Texas, but this is not good barbecue. We ordered takeout. The order was correct and complete. They made sure it was right at pick up time. We ordered brisket 2/5, cheddar jalapeño sausage 3/5, ribs 3/5, French fries 2/5, corn bread 3.5/5, pulled pork 3/5, baked beans 1/5, and Baked Cheesy Potatoes 2/5. read more

My sister picked up lunch for me so I wasn't able to go to the restaurant, but she had nothing but reviews about the staff, the inside, and the overall vibe. She got me a two meat combo, and I got turkey and the cheddar jalapeño sausage, and also tried the green beans and the baked potato casserole. Everything was absolutely delicious, and so freaking fresh. I loved the smoked barbecue sauce, and I can't wait to try more! The meats were moist and the sides were very flavorful. YUM. read more

If you're looking for good barbecue on the Westside this is one of the best we have been to. It's nice to see a large chain restaurant put good food, service, country and Veterans as their priorities. If you are in the restaurant at noon they ask to stand uncover or salute the flag and sing the National anthem. Food was great staff are friendly, knowledgeable about menu and the place was spotless. We will be back again wife loved the smoke salmon and the brisket and pulled pork was on point both lean and fatty. read more

Okay, as a Life-long hill country Texan, where the BBQ is the best in the world, I was right at home here at Mission BBQ in Surprise! OMG! The most delicious, moist, and seasoned just right BBQ I've had since moving to Arizona! We tried the moist beef brisket, pulled pork, jalapeno and cheese sausage, and the ribs! The place was so packed that we chose to bring the BBQ home to devour it! Glad we did too, because it was finger-licking good! Love this new addition to our restaurant favorites here in Surprise, AZ. I also love the fact that this establishment is pro-America and so respectful of our veterans! A huge patriotic plus in today's lifestyle and example to set before our citizens! Dylann Dylann you're worth a MILLION! Talk about great service! She's a star player on a stellar team! This location has been, by far, the best Mission BbQ experience I have had and it's an awful it about Dylann! Everything was exactly as we ordered it. She reminded me about utensils and sauces, which was awesome because I had totally spaced it all. We took everything home and the table was silent! Practically a miracle in our house but we were all too busy scarfing down our yummy lunches. Burnt ends, brisket, pulled pork OH MY! And I absolutely love the vibe. Honoring the honorable is the decor and the statement of Mission BBQ and I am HERE for it! Thanks a bunch Dylann, I'll expect to see you as the face of MBBQ one day! read more

I usually eat my BBQ at Rudy's in Goodyear but a friend told me to try Mission BBQ which is closer to both of us. Mission BBQ delivered big time. The ordering is easy, the staff is very helpful and the restaurant is clean. The prices are fair, not excessive/not cheap, but very fair for delicious bbq'd meats. The portions in my view are large enough to satisfy. The thing that keeps you coming back are the amazing flavors. The moist brisket, pulled pork, sausage and turkey are all moist and delicious. You want to keep eating it to be blunt! The sides are ok, the cornbread was surprisingly moist and the staff comes around to check on you while eating. Their bbq sauces at the table are a bonus that i've not seen before. Over all you need to eat here if you love BBQ meats that are delicious! read more

This place rocks! There, I said it. I love to walk into a new restaurant and see immediately that my hunger increases. We all do it, but my brisket sandwich today was absolutely positively delicious. Immediately responded at the counter. Asked for the first time ever how fatty I wanted it and knew I was in the right place. Living dangerous, I wanted taste and went fat. Melted in my mouth...and it was saucy, too! Came with -6- sauces. Loved the spicy one, but once you remove one lid...they all tasted excellent. Made great dipping sauce after opening sandwich and forking a perfectly sized bite in one of the sauces as well as the fresh (not frozen) fries. Really friendly atmosphere and now I want to go back! read more

I will have to come again at a later time. The place was incredibly busy, which is good for them, however it does dampen the experience as you don't have a place to sit and have to take your food to go. So you don't really get the fresh, hot. Food experience. We got a mix of meats and fries. By the time we got home the meat was kind of dry and the fries soggy and lukewarm. The brisket still had great flavor, as did the turkey. The pork was very dry. We tried each of their sauces and found the store bought bbq sauce was better, but to each their own. For 3 people it ended up being over 50$, which to me wasn't working it, if I couldn't eat in the building. I will be back to try other items, but I will wait for a bit until the crowds die down. read more

Just opened. Combo two meat sampler $13.69 was small portions. Only two small slices of turkey and small ice cream scoop of pulled chicken. Yard chicken was definitely better choice. This place is where you stand in line and order then wait. Cold slaw aka coleslaw tasted good. Baked beans a little too sweet. I ordered two water and she said two fountain drinks. I said no I want just water. She said ok. Walked away and she still charged for two fountain drinks. Asked manager to adjust which they did. Overall Eric's BBQ or Rudy's or BobbyQ preferred. Rudys and Erics weighs the meat and served you before leaving the counter. read more

We went on a Friday night and there were quite a few people in line and in the dining area but things moved fast and we had no problem getting a clean table. My friend and I ordered the exact same thing: brisket (moist). Hers was sliced nicely with very little fat. Mine was a slop of fatty mush. That said, the pieces I was able to eat were good and it is fun to try the different sauces. The sides we had were cheesy baked potato, Mac and cheese and baked beans which we all thought were just ok. One person had the green beans which he said were really good. My husband had ribs. They were heavily seasoned. So heavily seasoned that he had trouble enjoying the flavor of the ribs. And putting bbq sauce on top of the seasoning was not his cup of tea. My friend's husband had the brisket sandwich which he said was good aside from the slightly stale bun. read more

I'd like the official score to be 3.5/5, but yelp won't allow it. I tried this place for the first time Today for lunch. 1pm on a Friday. I ordered online, it was ready when I got there and the service was fast, friendly, and all around good. I ordered: 3 meat sampler, turkey, lean brisket, pulled pork, side of Mac and cheese, side of fries, and a Jalapeño cheddar sausage. When I picked up they asked what type of sauce I'd like, I said all, and they provided! That was great, I got 6 different sauces. The Great: The value, $42 for my order was a steal IMO, my favorite BBQ spot in the valley this would have been $100, so definitely a great value. Jalapeño cheddar sausage, the star of the meat show, smoky, flavorful, cheesy, good texture and snap. Mac and Cheese, usually I'm incredibly underwhelmed by bbq restaurants Mac and cheese, I also typically hate a bread crumb topping. This was a 10/10, after my first bite I actually thought "wow that's the best restaurant Mac and cheese I've ever had" All 6 sauces were surprisingly unique and delicious. Great sweet, smoky, spicy. Honestly super impressed they could have 6 different sauces that are this good. Good: The pulled pork was good, definitely not great though. It was moist, tender, and had some flavor. But lacked any real flavor other than "smoky meat", not the worst, not the best, but a solid choice I'd try again. French fries, fries to-go are never great, but these were seasoned well and were made from real potato with the skin. Very good. Not so good: I understand that I had the choice of moist or lean brisket. I may have chosen wrong, but even though I didn't choose moist I don't think that any BBQ restaurant should be serving brisket this dry. I took a decent sized bite without sauce and it was hard to get down because it was dry. Though I will say the flavor was great, I'll try moist next time, but again, I don't think anyone wants brisket this dry. Turkey, just kinda bland, and again pretty dry. Sliced pretty thin so the outer seasoning wasn't enough to carry the seasoning throughout the bite. The cornbread, a nice (free) surprise. It was just too dry to really enjoy. Overall, I'll be back. At $42 I'm not mad or sad. Is it the best BBQ spot in the west valley? no. Is it the best in Surprise, yes. read more
