My new favorite sandwich spot in Arizona! I don't usually rave about places in Arizona like this, but Sourdough & Co has completely won me over. My boyfriend and I split the Garlic Pesto Turkey sandwich, and I can honestly say it was the best sourdough sandwich I've ever had. The bread is everything you want from fresh sourdough soft on the inside, just the right chew, and that perfect tang. The turkey was super flavorful, and the pesto and sauces were next level. Every bite felt so well balanced rich, fresh, and totally satisfying. We also grabbed a white macadamia cookie, and it was the cherry on top. Soft, buttery, and perfectly sweet seriously one of the best cookies I've had in a while. On top of the amazing food, the customer service was incredible. The girls working were so friendly and made us feel genuinely welcome. The space is small but super cute and cozy clean, inviting, and great for a casual meal. I really wish I lived closer because I'd be here all the time (probably too often that bread is dangerously good ). If you're nearby or even just passing through, do yourself a favor and stop in. You know those days you just kick yourself for not coming to try a place sooner? That's me when it comes to Sourdough & Co. it's been on my list forever because I saw they offer bread bowls. I am a sucker for clam chowder and throw in a sourdough bowl and I'm happy. My all time fave is of course Disneylands and since I can't have that right now I made the drive over. The parking lot is huge and shared my many businesses. One of those being the Harkin's Theatre. Before I even entered I encountered an employee cleaning the small outdoor seating area. She was all smiles and greeted me with hellos. Once inside another employee also welcomed me and let me know they'd be with me shortly. I was happy with that since I needed time to look over the menu. It included not only bread bowls, but multiple soup options, sandwiches and salads. They had chips also for purchase. Everything looked an sounded so good from what I could see. Especially the specialty sandwiches. The soup of the day was clam chowder so WIN! Once I was able to order I chose the clam chowder bread bowl I came for as well as a 4in turkey and ham sandwich and drink. Did I think I could eat it all? Nope, but man I was going to try. It's just a smarter idea to try multiple items ha ha ha. The sandwich already comes with certain things. I opted for no may and chose mustard and none of their sauce. It did sound yummy but wanted something a bit more basic this go round. Pries were really great honesty and before tipping was under $25. My food was ready shortly and they actually walked it over to my table. While the inside resembles an old subway (ironically it is) don't let it fool you because it's so much better in every way. Everything was heavenly. So full of flavor and the bread oh my was in fresh and perfect. My sandwich was amazing! They even gave me a pickle slice to go with it. I of course could not eat the entire thing and came home with half for later. My son got a hold of it right when I came home and devoured it ha ha ha. I have been wanting to try Sourdough & Co and I'm so glad I did. I went into a deli style cafe during the late lunch hours and they definitely busy. I over looked the menu while I waited in line to order, I decided on the cracked pepper turkey 6" and a small cup of Mac and cheese. My sandwich was so good and flavorful and the Mac n cheese was cheesy but needed some salt and pepper no the less my meal was great. Stopped by Sourdough and Co. on my last day in Phoenix to satisfy my craving for sandwiches. This location is amongst a large shopping center that has plenty of parking and is easily accessible. I tried the turkey cranberry sub, which is off their menu and possibly seasonal. I went with the 6inch (they have up to 12 inch). The best thing is their bread. It's super crisp, nicely seasoned and not bland, and compliments whatever filing you go for by being a nice textural contrast. Probably the best quality bread I've had from a fast casual sub shop. For this particular sandwich, the turkey and veggies were fine. Nothing negative but nothing super fantastic about it either. I generally like cranberry, which seems to be a controversial food for some. In this case, I felt the overall filing was a bit too wet. Maybe too much cranberry sauce. I think if it's tweaked slightly, it's a solid choice offering for lunch. On the bread alone, I'd go back to try other proteins/combinations. And I'd go back for the great service. (thick & plenty of it) The crispy chicken sandwich wasn't crispy ... The pastrami & turkey lacked flavor The chicken Salad was "average" ...The clam chowder was fine but needed a touch more seasoning but there was plenty of clams in the small bowl I ordered. The sandwich's took a good deal of time to be made with all the talking between the two employees about their day / life... Only 3 customers were in the shop at the time that my order was placed. So this is actually the 2nd time I've eaten here. Well the first time my son brought me a sandwich home he had went to eat there, at that time I had the Italian sandwhich, by the time my son got home it was semi warm still, but it was very good. The bread was delicious. This time around my son and I stopped inside, this time I opted for the pastrami Reuben, it was pretty good. The staff were all friendly and it was pretty busy from the moment we walked in until we left it was nonstop lunch rush, but I observed and saw the staff all be courteous and fast. Both sandwiches were made wrong. I got a French dip and asked for it with provolone not Swiss cheese but they made it with Swiss, my mom got the pesto chicken sandwich and her sandwich came with provolone but got Swiss cheese instead. I called the store and the manager offered to remake both sandwiches, drove 30 mins back to only be given one sandwich. Got the vegetables soup and the potatoes soup both taste disgusting no favoring to the soup. Spent $44 which isn't cheap! This place is delicious!! The staff are very friendly and even took the time to ask how the food was. I tired the Artichoke Chicken flat bread and the Cholula Chicken with fresh jalapeños. The artichoke chicken was like a small thin crust white sauce pizza, it was so tasty. Cholula chicken had a perfect amount of spice and flavor. The fact that it is all made with sour dough and healthy meats is amazing. I don't ever remember the ham offered so smoked or shaved. The bread was so tough and very, very chewy. Mayo was left off my request, and the wait in store was entirely too long for not being busy. Well, I have gone through pages of Yelp reviews looking for new places to try. I stumbled across World of Sourdough and couldn't wait to give it a try. Upon entering, the place reminded me of a classic Sub Sandwich shop. Several nice additions that I noticed were the soups and salads. Clam Chowder, yum! And the salads are a nice alternative to chips! Okay, what to order... I like beef and I like hot, so I asked the young man at the counter what he would reccomend. He told me that the Brisket sandwich was really good. Okay I guess. But I really don't expect much from Deli brisket. My wife ordered a Greek salad. While waiting, their system went down and the wait for our sandwich ended up being a long one. This is a fairly new store, so the growing pains are expected. That is okay. Wow, the food was really good. After biting into my brisket sandwich, the flavor was unexpected. I've had coleslaw with pulled pork sandwich, but not brisket. Interesting! The brisket tastes like it was made by a skilled pitmaster. Perfectly smoked and moist. The coleslaw had some kick. Just the perfect amount. The sourdough was San Francisco good. This has to be the best Deli sandwich that I've ever had! My wife had the Greek salad and Clam Chowder. She said she really enjoyed it as well. Who knew? I mean really, who knew? In a nondescript, boring shopping center on 107th, there is a gem of a little sandwich shop that has the biggest surprises I've seen in a bit. First, the sourdough bread here is absolutely excellent. Period. It's as good as homemade, without the 16 hour bulk and cold fermentation, the bannetons, the starters, and the Dutch ovens. It's that good. Second, the sandwiches here are super, super tasty. The crunchy chicken is amazing. The Turkey pastrami is one of the best sandwiches I've ever tasted. The French dip is soft, pillowy-with-a-crunchy-crust, and filled with tender, fresh, flavorful Roast beef. I've yet to have an average sandwich here. And the biggest surprise was their clam chowder. Wow. So the best chowder I've ever had is the classic that is served underneath Grand Central Station at the Grand Central Oyster Bar. This is the classic New England styles, with a white, creamy base. Well, would you believe that the World of Sourdough clam chowder is just as good? In fact, I may be committing a sin here, but it might be even a little better than that gorgeous, tasty concoction deep in the bowels of Manhattan. If you're craving some amazing clam chowder, order a cup with your sandwich. Or if you're feeling real decadent, order the sourdough "bowl" with the clam chowder in it. It's enough for two people and it will send your taste buds flying. And to finish your meal, ask for a lemon cookie and ask them To warm it. What a gorgeous finish to an excellent, if unpretentious meal. This place is just a walk up counter in a regular ol' west valley shopping complex. Nothing to write home about. But their food is excellent. And last, a nod to Glen who is the manager there. He has consistently given some of the best customer service we've had in years. He's attentive, knowledgeable, happy, and as nice as a guy could be. He's a big reason why people come here and come back. Because even great food can be marred by crappy service and cranky, bored employees. Glen will take good care of you. I am glad I decided to give sourdough & co. a try because it has been such a good sandwich spot for me. every time I work all I think about is going there. I always get to smoke biscuit sandwich, which comes with it instead of pickles coleslaw in the sandwich. Their house made sauce a ton of brisket meat with a little bit of the barbecue sauce. I really like how they give you a good potion of meat because some sandwich places try to skimp on the meat. I also order a side of the coleslaw, although it isn't sweet is a little bit on the vinegar side. And I also finished my order with A cookie cookie. The chocolate chip cookies are literally so huge so you're really getting your moneys worth for a little sweet treat. They have some really good lemonade the lemonade house lemonade is really sweet like soda type of sweetness. It's like so much sugar.
