How can you be mad about that? On our first visit, we got the Veggie Burger ($9.35), Natural Cheeseburger ($7.70), and a bowl of All-Beef Chili ($4.75). I was impressed. Beware: Farmer Boys might make you want to become a farmer boy. It was love at first bite. And that's saying a lot because my first bite was their veggie burger and not the natural burger. Both were excellent and held up well on the 30 to 40 minute carride home. We also got a bowl of chili which was okay. I'll admit that another fast food joint might have a better chili but you won't be disappointed. I like this place. I have to come back to try their fries and fried zucchini. I'm trying to cool my jets so I'm not "angreviewing" (reviewing while angry) but I feel totally ripped off by my experience here. I brought my nephew with me and we ordered two combos @ drive thru. I ordered a cheeseburger combo with onion rings and a small drink; he: the California avacado burger combo. Thirty bucks. I'm not joking. My burger patty was skinnier than a McDonalds regular burger patty. The bun was cold and dry. I took off the huge hunk of iceberg lettuce. The onion rings were like cardboard. My nephew's burger was more substantial, but everything else was not worth $30. I honestly do not understand any of the positive reviews for this establishment. Just like I remember...I used to go to Farmer Boys back in CA. This location is on par with what I know them to be. Good, fresh food. Fair prices. Fast service. Clean facility. The only thing that I'd dock a fraction of a star on is the cashier's knowledge of product. My breakfast date had asked the cashier if they had non-dairy creamer as she is lactose intolerant. The cashier said no. My date ordered her coffee intending to drink it black. However, as it turns out, this location does serve non dairy creamer! It ended up being a bonus because it wasn't expected, but still...it would have been nice to get the correct information in the first place. Other than that, a good experience here... read more

The food is great but service really needs some work. I have been here a few times now ordered a breakfast burrito on one trip amd the 3 egg plate on another. Both those visits the food came fast, was hot and eggs cooked perfectly. The servers however are very rude and unhelpful. I went here to kill a little time waiting for Kohl's to open. It was clean from what could see and there were folks inside and in the drive thru but they weren't being slammed. I wanted something for breakfast but nothing huge and I saw this mini cakes skillet and it seemed perfect. It was the perfect portion size I was looking for. It filled me up without making me overly full. The mini pancakes were just ok could've used some butter which I had asked for when they brought the food to my table but never came back with the butter, so I did without, the bacon was cooked well the eggs were bland as heck but I added salt and pepper and some hot sauce. When I was there it wasn't too busy but I was ignored for almost 10 minutes before someone asked if I had been helped. There was one person at the register helping someone else by making their drinks and he saw me but didn't say I'll be right with you or ask someone else to help me. The drive thru person saw me and didn't say anything to anyone. I was about to leave but finally another person came around and asked if I needed help. The breakfast was just ok. Nothing spectacular and even though the service I received that day wasn't up to par I'd like to return and try the burgers and sides. I hear they're pretty good. Love FB's in CA so it was nice that we were able to stop by this FB while making some technical sales calls nearby. My colleague has been here many times and when he asked if it was OK if we had lunch here, I was like hell yeah. They happen to be having a lunch special with a Cobb salad and a drink so I was all over that. It was so good. was stuffed after getting to half the salad. I'm a burger fanatic and I was very happy with my first Farmer Boys experience. $38 for two people (two burgers, fries, onion rings, and one large drink) seemed a little steep, but the burgers are big! You definitely get what you pay for, at least with the burgers. We each had a double burger and we were stuffed. I love the charred flavor, and the burgers were very nicely cooked. The fries and onion rings both lacked seasoning. The onion rings cost $6.69 for 4 "jumbo" rings. Half of the breading fell off of them before I even took them out of the bag. I threw them away after a few bites. Great ranch though! None of that premade garbage, theirs is fresh in little ramekins for you ranch snobs. I normally enjoy Farmer Boys, but the location on 83rd & Tolleson has consistently had extremely slow service. The cashiers often seem unsure of what they're doing, and the whole front area feels disorganized. The older lady ,she wears glasses and usually works mornings ..who is frequently at the register always appears unhappy and frustrated, which makes the experience uncomfortable. Mobile ordering is supposed to make things easier, but here it doesn't. When I give my name, I'm told they need the email, extra details, or something else unnecessary. If I placed a mobile order under my name, that should be enough to hand me my food. It shouldn't feel like a DoorDash pickup or take extra steps because staff can't locate the order number. Mobile orders should be quick and convenient, not a long wait caused by confusion at the register. This location really needs better training and more efficient processes. It shouldn't be this difficult to pick up a simple order. read more

I've been eating Farmer Boys since the early 90's in Ontario, California and was super excited they made their way to AZ. The inside was very clean and the staff was super friendly. We ordered the 1/4 Parmesan Crusted Sourdough Burger, Onion Rings, Zucchini and Strawberry Shakes. Didn't ask for ranch but they read my mind because they have the best ranch!! Everything was sooooo good and fresh! Farmer Boys has the best everything! Be prepared to wait because this is not to be confused with fast food. This is fresh food which takes time to craft. This is what probably was like at McDonald's back in the day when they first started and made real burgers, natural food without additives and yoga mat fillers. This place is always so fresh and yummy. Service has never failed, they're always happy to serve you and go above and beyond. I've only eaten inside twice, but both times it has been impeccably clean and the table baskets stocked. Their 1/3 Avocado Burger is delicious and just so craveable. I do love the simple Jr Cheeseburger as my go-to. P.S. Their summer deal for a Dipping Box and Jr Cheeseburger with fries and drink is only $9.99 and they don't have fancy iPad to flip over to "add tip" but I think they deserve more than 20% and in their Tip Box at the counter! Well, in a market saturated with hamburger joints, Farmer Boys stood out. We were looking for a burger that was a little more on the traditional side. After looking at all of the burger restaurants in the area, we found Farmer Boys. The photos an Yelp looked like this was just the burger we were looking for. And the sides looked oh so good! The restaurant itself is new & clean. There is even an outdoor seating area. I was surprised that the place was so full. Their food must be good! As we approached the front counter, we were met with a young man named Yanni (sp). He was friendly and enthusiastically told us all about Farmer Boys options. I don't know if he was a manager, but he hustled around the whole time taking orders, delivering food and cleaning the restaurant. He obviously cared about the customers there. Okay, so we wanted a traditional burger. We ordered the Big Cheese, Onion Rings, Fries and Fried Zucchini. The burger was delicious. It was mostly traditional except for the Thousand Island dressing. Loved the lettuce, tomato & onion. The meat was the perfect thickness and the cheese was yum! The fries were very crispy, better than most. The onion rings were massive. So much so that all I needed was one! The zucchini was bigger than massive. Each slice was one quarter of the zucchini. Very good, but a lot! After finishing our meal, my wife and I agreed that we thought it was really good and worth the drive down to Avondale! Definitely worth trying. read more

Drive thru experience is terrible, they made me wait 30 minutes for 1 burger... crazy part is that it was lonely.

I've been waiting for this place to open. Sounds like a good concept. The pastrami sandwich in the picture looks amazing. But there's no way I'm paying $22 for a combo. It's just ridiculous. I'll go try it at one time and then either change or post a new review if it's worth it. A lot of other places I can get a good combo for less than $22. read more

Glad to see they opened one of these on the West Side. I loved going to Farmer Boys when I lived in CA, and looks like they are starting to pop up in AZ...hooray! When done right, the Farmer Burger may be the best "fast food" style burger you can get. Double patties, double cheese, avocado and bacon! Sign me up! It sure is delicious. Messy as a mofo, but still worth the effort to shovel it in your mouth. I got that and some onion rings on this trip. My son went with a kids cheeseburger and some fries. Burgers and fries were bomb, the onion rings on the other hand were too "soft". I know their style of breading for the rings and zucchini, but they were a bit underdone today for my liking. 9/4/25. It's been a while since I came back and nothing has changed. Your employee/cooks are still incapable of doing anything correct I asked for a lettuce wrap hamburger and I guess I got half of it and then the other half wrapped with onions, I waited 20 minutes for my food. You could've dried the lettuce so I didn't get a cold, wet, onion wrapped hamburger Let's start with the negative. I order my two 3 eggs? I substituted the bacon for ham and both orders, when I got home, I got a single slice of ham and I mean deli super thin slice I would've preferred if you didn't give me anything and called it a mistake. I didn't feel like driving 3 miles back to complain about your single slice of ham, super thin slice of ham yes, super thin. and also don't forget to put butter on the toast, and what's going on with the condiments, you guys don't have any speaking of not having anything what's going on with the pancakes??? besides them pissing me off with that single 10 slice of ham substituting two strips of bacon. The eggs and hashbrowns are OK. I don't know how the bacon or the ham taste. Hopefully I can find out next time but not a single slice of ham. I've been wanting to try this location since it opened and I can say it did not disappoint. There are not many decent fast food places around here, and I was happy to say this is one of the best. Talk about a tasty burger. The natural avocado bacon burger was just what I needed. I ordered it without spread and got ranch on the side. Next time around I will probably ask for no onions, there was a bit more than I normally like. The wife and I split fries and this was just the right amount of food. Total cost was a little over $20. We stopped by on their first week open, so it was a little chaotic. They're out of breaded chicken, breaded fish, and don't have pastrami yet. There were 5 of us eating. This location has finally opened and a great location needed for the area. I noticed a few cars in the parking lot during the week and found out they were open. I stopped by just 30mins till closing; a decent line in the drive through. An employee stepped out to take line orders which I thought was a plus and helped them move the line along nicely. I ordered the double big cheese combo. Man, the burger was huge! I could barely finish it, I shoulda stuck to just the one patty, considering the double was a 1/2lb. It was my first time here and let's just say I used the pictures to order and did not read (LOL).
