Tomato basil soup was a bit salty.
Kevin L.

It's an average experience, and 3 stars feels about right. The staff is wonderful, the atmosphere is pleasant, and parking is a breeze, but the food leaves much to be desired. I expected more--larger portions, and maybe better knife work. I'm in the food industry, so I noticed the shortcuts, like the pre-diced, frozen chicken breast. While it's tender and totally fine, at this price point, I was hoping for freshly cooked chicken and fresher avocados. The menu was another disappointment. While the photos are nice, there's no real description of what's in each bowl. It's confusing, especially with so many ingredients, and I found myself staring at the images, trying to figure it out. Thankfully, I have good eyesight, but a simple list of ingredients next to each item would go a long way in making things clearer. Overall, it was okay, but with a few improvements, it could have been so much better.

Lobster bisque

Cafe zupas is a great place to go if you want something fast, and expensive, and healthy, they have a variety of soups, salads, powerballs, and sandwiches. You can order a try to bundle, which is either soup in a sandwich or soup in a salad. It's really quite a bit of food for a pretty low price. Every meal comes with a roll and a chocolate dip strawberry. It's nice to have that sweet treat at the end of a meal. The restaurant decor is contemporary, with quite a bit of seating.

Well I keep trying to convince my husband of this place but each time we get food from this location. Something is wrong, from my drink not being filled all the way from not getting utensils and the chicken Noodle not having noodles. And the list keeps going on unfortunately so we won't be ordering from this location anytime soon.

Clearly NOT the Chris soup.

Why do I keep coming back!? Last week I get there to pick up my order and they said it wasn't quite ready yet and they were just packaging it up. I said no problem and I waited in the reserved spot for........ 20 MINUTES. I finally go inside to see what was going on and my bag was just sitting there on the shelf. Then tonight. I've had a crap day I got home late from sitting in traffic so I order zupas for an easy meal to grab on my way home... food was ready. Awesome. I get home and it's the wrong soup. A soup I don't care for either! I ordered the Chris and I got something completely different! This isn't the first time my order has been wrong but I let it go. Not this time! I worked fast food when I was a teenager. I know what it's like but this is just ridiculous! This is also why I stopped tipping! The auto add tip on the app is also BS and comes off kind of sneaky! You have to change it to zero each time. With the track record of this place I don't think they deserve a tip. The service isn't great.

Bottom: Chickpea veg soup for me, Bottom right: chik'n Sandwich for me. Top: Lobster Bisque for Hub.

Stopped by last night to check out the menu and dropped in today in the Verrado area of Buckeye. It's new, bright , and colorful, and the employees are friendly. I chose the pick 2, small bowl soup, and a sandwich ( or salad). My other half went with a large bowl, lobster bisque soup, and 2 large drinks. The food was ready pretty quickly, so we didn't get to talk much, lol. I took one sip and had to ask if hubby his soup was salty like mine. It was. Now, I really wanted to like this place, but all I could taste was salt. Killed the flavor for me. I tried my hot sandwich and sad face here. The sandwich bun was cold, and the chik'n patty was warm. I just figured a hot sandwich would have a toasted bun. OK, so for Hubs, too much sodium is bad. High blood pressure, no Bueno. Too much salt, no Bueno, also. I wish I could rate the place higher, but 3 is about as high as I can go. The employees are friendly and helpful, and that's why. I'm sorry I didn't check reviews to see if any else had salt/sodium issues. Or check the Website for info. If you're watching sodium intake, be warned. My guy has a thing. He'll try a place twice, so MAYBE we'll be back. IF I do, I'll stick with a protein bowl/salad.

We stopped in for happy hour, which for some reason is exclusive to the bar. Of course the bar was packed, but the host didn't want to turn us away. They sat us close to the bar in the completely empty dining room. We ordered the HH blue point oysters 3/5 (small), poutine fries with added short rib, egg, and onion straws (best $4 I've ever spent) 4.5/5, HH Bruschetta 2/5 (served on flatbread crust and large chunks non-heirloom tomatoes), Chicken lettuce wraps 3/5 (some of the chicken was rubbery), and bang bang shrimp 5/5.

It's local, and our daughter was our designated driver/uber for the night. We got there early and were seated in the middle of the dining room. At that point only the bar area was crowded and it was still very loud. As the night went on and the dining room filled up, I couldn't even hear myself think, and me thinking doesn't happen very often so I really missed out. We ordered a plate called Ballin on a Budget. It was the surf and turf. Prior to that we ordered bread with sun dried tomato butter (or something like that) and a crab cake for appetizers as well as some cocktails. The special butter they rolled out with the bread had no flavor and the crab cake was about the size of a half dollar. And you only get one!! The main dish comes and I didn't expect the portions to be big at all but there really was nothing to them. Again, zero flavor on the steak and lobster. It would have been nice to have a garlic butter or horse radish sauce, there was nothing. Sorry to say but the meal sucked. The servers did their best, no complaints toward them at all. Nice kids. I reserved the table because it was our anniversary so after the meal they brought a piece of cheesecake and told my wife Happy Birthday. I opened the check and was stunned. North of $300 for a crappy dinner. With tip it was closer to $375. All in all it was sub par. Plenty of other restaurants around for us to go. If the food was better we would return but I don't think I'll be back.

For takeout, I ordered the Dumpling Miso Ramen, and it was SO good! The broth was rich, savory, and packed with flavor, and the dumplings made it even more satisfying. There was so much comforting flavor in every bite, and it was exactly the kind of ramen you want when you're craving something warm and delicious. I was also really impressed with how carefully everything was packaged. Takeout ramen can sometimes be a little risky -- especially when you have broth, noodles, and toppings all traveling together -- but everything was packaged perfectly and made it home completely intact. No spills, no mess, and no sad ramen situation! Overall, I really enjoyed my first experience with Ja Ramen. The food was delicious, the restaurant is adorable, and the attention to detail with the takeout order definitely stood out. Next time, I'm staying to enjoy the atmosphere, checking out that cute bar area, and trying one of those drinks I've already got my eye on!

Every bite felt so well balanced rich, fresh, and totally satisfying. We also grabbed a white macadamia cookie, and it was the cherry on top. Soft, buttery, and perfectly sweet seriously one of the best cookies I've had in a while. On top of the amazing food, the customer service was incredible. The girls working were so friendly and made us feel genuinely welcome. The space is small but super cute and cozy clean, inviting, and great for a casual meal.
