We love that you can order in the app and pick up within 15 mins! When ordering, I usually build my own bowl, that way I'm able to customize it. I think this was one of the main selling points for my hubby. He is able to control what goes into his order. The food is always so fresh and delicious, and the restaurant is always clean. The staff is always so friendly and helpful too. Also, I'm obsessed with their Skhug sauce! I could bathe in it! It's literally just peppers, tons of cilantro, parsley, garlic, olive oil, and spices! I've only been to CAVA a few times, so I'm still trying to learn how the ordering process works. Unfortunately, the customer service has not been very welcoming during my visits. The staff often seem dismissive and unfriendly when I ask questions. On my most recent visit, I asked if I could get a little more chicken and add a small amount of steak. The employee immediately responded, "We can't do that," without really explaining the options. When I said it was okay, she continued asking whether I wanted half-and-half protein or extra protein. My issue wasn't that I wanted extra food for free--I was confused because the portion of protein I received was already very small. The interaction felt more argumentative than helpful. My sister and I came here for lunch today around 12:30 and the line was pretty long and moved pretty slow, but we didn't mind because this food is delicious. I got a customized bowl, and decided to try the spicy lamb meatballs and white sweet potato that they had advertised on the screen (27g protein). I watched her put TWO lamb meatballs in my bowl and got really confused. After we opened our food to eat when we got home, I looked at the receipt and realized that there was a $3 up charge to pick the lamb. If I got more than two meatballs, I would totally understand that, but that is totally wild! On top of that, the sweet potatoes were not cooked all the way, so they were very hard. I ordered from the app the first time and on my next visit I went inside. It was easier and faster to order from the app and pickup. It was so busy the day I went in. But it's a bright atmosphere, clean and had Mediterranean Chipotle vibes. My first visit I got the kids meal with chicken and the second time I got it with harissa honey chicken. I was so excited to try CAVA for the first time so when they came to the location by my house, I was so eager to go. My friends and family have been ranting and raving about how good it was so I needed to get there. This is a brand new location and the atmosphere inside is amazing. I'm so upset that I have to make this review, but I'm a little disgusted so I'd be remiss. Long story short, as I'm waiting for my turn, I notice the customer in front of me was allowed to extend her entire arm (and hand) over the protection glass to point to the toppings she wanted. She did so for every topping she chose. Disgusting. The reason why the glass is there is to protect the open food items from contamination by customers. Why then allow a customer to reach out and over what is in place to protect the food? So I said something to both the customer and the employee that assisted her. CAVA should not be allowing that. Now it's my turn, and when we got to the toppings, a different CAVA employee ignored the spoons and used HER HAND to grab my corn, feta and pickles. When I questioned her about it, her response was "yea, but I have a glove on". The same glove she used to touch everything else in that restaurant including the dressing bottles! The fact that this young lady doesn't understand what cross contamination means is troubling. This location is dropping the ball when it comes to maintaining food safety. I'm going to say my grace and try to enjoy the bowl that I had the team lead (per her name badge) recreate, but this will probably be the last time they see me.
