I had found this place on TikTok so I had to try! It did not disappoint! The ambiance inside and outside was cute photo worthy! Food was delicious! Service was nice. I will be back soon!

Poblano omelet

The aesthetics of this place when you walk in are very cool. I like the decorations and a heart shaped seat to take your social media pics. Music a little loud for me but that's just me. Very clean with outdoor seating available. Friendly staff greeted us. Emily took our order and took care us. The food was delicious and I can't wait to explore the menu. If it's your birthday they will play las mañanitas for you along with little cake Clean bathrooms made me smile.

This is a very cute place Food is wonderful. The only reason I am giving this place a four star is for the service. They had a line out the door and very busy. With this kind of response they need to add helpers. The waitress is overwhelmed. You need a person that comes around checking on drinks. You can be as slow as can be but please make sure you keep up with the drinks. They have a lot to choose from in drinks. Alcohol to non alcoholic drinks. I was surprised that with all the different coffee selections they did not have iced tea. Would go back and will recommend. Just need to step us the service.

First time here but won't be my last! This new establishment has it all good food, good portions and great service! Be prepared for a wait if you come after 8am. If you come ask for Emily she will take care of you and make you feel at home! She has the best recommendations. We tried the poblano omelet, the huevos rancheros, the birria flautas and a chocolate croissant ! It was all so good! The cafe de olla and the mango lemonade are delicious

Enchiladas Suizas

The service was okay. They sat us and it took them 10-15 minutes for a waitress to ask for our drinks. Once she started helping us tho, she was great and attentive. The food came out really quick. I had the enchiladas suizas. The sauce was really flavorful. My spouse had the arrachera sandwich. The meat was tender but really salty unfortunately. What really brought my rating down was the French toast. The creme brûlée topping was burnt which made the entire dish super bitter and not good. We took the topping off and tried to eat the rest but the cream filling had no flavor to it that we just let it go. Safe to say this place was very pretty but I don't think this would be a place we would return to.

Ahuevo rancheros, café de olla, steak and eggs and chocomilk with banana.

I gave it a 4 stars because the restaurant is super cute, clean and the host as well as the waitress were super friendly. But to the food, I would say is a 3 star. I was not impressed with it to be honest. I think it lacks flavor. But I would give it a second chance since my daughter really liked her steak and eggs. Maybe I'll try the French toast or chilaquiles next time. I do have to add that the cafe de olla was delicious.

Dulce de leche pancakes

Food is amazing I had the huevos rancheros for breakfast and my sister had the dulce de leche pancakes it was very delicious. And very good service and ambience.

La Mariposa and Guavarita.

Been seeing Ahuevo Cafe on yelp and we finally had a chance to try it on Sunday. Daniel was our server and he was great, had great suggestions/recommendations. Daniel suggested the Mariposa and Guavarita and they were both delicious, the Mariposa was GREAT definitely get what you pay for. Daniel suggested Poblano Omelette and I added the chicken tinga, we also had the chilaquiles with red sauce and birria, I also wanted to try the fries with red sauce with chorizo. Everything was flavorful and delicious, we will definitely be back soon!!!!! thank you for all you suggestions Daniel. Service was great and the restaurant is pretty nice and clean, patio looks pretty cool too!!

Taco El Sonorense

A few friends have mentioned this place, so we decided to try it. The menu looked outstanding. I went for the Chilaquiles with avocado and arranchera steak. My fiancé had the taco sonrenses with habanero salsa. We both had the cafe de olla. Definitely one of the best breakfasts I've had In Tolleson. All the food was full of flavor with the perfect amount of spice. The cafe de olla was a wonderful, rich drink, especially on a windy morning. The service was a bit slow, but to be honest, for all the large parties that were there, it was perfectly understandable. A nice little restaurant in the heart of old Tolleson. A great family vibe. Will go back again to try out some more food.

Flautas

Incredible food with amazing service! We tried multiple drinks from their Jamaica, orange juice, and horchata latte. Everything tasted fresh and their latte was great! The horchata latte was a bit sweet so if that's what you're looking for this is perfect! We bought the flautas which had the perfect crunch to the tortilla with delicious flavor. The omelette divorciado was a perfect combo of red and green, I personally preferred the green but both were great! For those with a sweet tooth, the dulce de leche crepe was sweet but the way they made the main sauce helped balance it so it wasn't overpowering. They had fresh fruit that added the perfect balance. The real winner of the day was the poblano omelette. I was able to try a bite and will be going back ASAP for it! The sauce was incredible and probably the best out of what we had and I recommend everyone try it! Don't be discouraged by the negative reviews, we waited less than 10mins and the service was quick and attentive! The space is smaller so if you don't want to wait then don't come when it's peak hours! We came on a Saturday at 9:30-10am without issues.

Chilaquiles

We came Sunday afternoon had a 20 minute wait. The server took our order right away, the food took around 15minutes. It was very flavorful! Will be back to try the other dishes.

I ordered the chilaquiles rojos with arrachera (beef).

We've tried most of the breakfast menu and have never been let down, it's all delicious. Whether the place is busy from games just ending or a little slower during the week the vibes are always just right. An Avondale must go!

Let me preface this review by saying that I am reviewing the experience as much, if not more, than…read morethe food and drinks. My wife and I absolutely love New Penny. We actually followed the owners here after frequenting their previous coffee shop, En Route. When they opened New Penny, supporting them was an easy decision. The café is thoughtfully divided into two distinct spaces: a family-friendly dining area and a lounge-style bar area geared more toward adults. The atmosphere is warm, cozy, and inviting. There are house-made dishes, local merchandise, a shaded patio, and plenty of charm throughout. My wife's favorites are the Breakfast Totchos and the Acai Bowl. Personally, I am also a loyal Breakfast Totchos fan. As for drinks, the Copper Coin and the legendary Cowboy Latte are both worth ordering. What truly sets New Penny apart, however, is the people. The owners and staff have created a space that feels inclusive, welcoming, and genuinely connected to the community. Support local businesses. Better yet, support local businesses that are doing things the right way. Get to know the owners. Get to know the staff. Places like New Penny don't just serve food and coffee--they create gathering places. Whether you're meeting a friend, taking a business meeting, enjoying a date, or simply looking for a quiet place to sit by yourself, New Penny delivers. One of my favorite local businesses, and one that my family will continue to support.

The decor is a bit dark, but chic & colorful. Our server, Esmerelda, was fantastic: funny, attentive, polite. There was a guy there who seemed to be the Jack of all trades. He brought us our food, I saw him behind the bar, and even bussing tables. He, too, was friendly & smiley. Cocktails: they had a great selection but we went with plain ol' Cokes. That's okay, we'll partake of their boozy drinks when we visit again. Food: parmesan truffle fries were aah-mazing. I even told Esmerelda they should add a pizza with the garlic aioli. The buffalo mozzarella had a bit of a kick to the sauce; we could have used more toasted bread to dip into it. We ordered the heaven and bianca pizzas. The crust was thinner than normal, which I was happy about, and the flavors of both were delicious. Dessert: despite not finishing the appetizers & pizza (no worries, we thoroughly enjoyed the leftovers!), we opted for a gelato flight. It was divine, and hefty samples. You wouldn't think 4 oz was much, but of gelato, it was plenty. We selected chocolate, strawberry, salted caramel, and mango. If you haven't tried Roma 23, I highly recommend it. Even if you don't live close by, it is worth the drive.

When we did manage to get in, we ordered a glass of pinot noir and Pelligrino to drink. The waitress brought out a glass of white wine and insisted this was their pinot noir... even the bartender confirmed. So the staff is NOT wine savvy, I wouldn't trust their recommendations on pairings here either. They didn't have any Pelligrino left, so I ended up getting an arnold palmer. However, when they brought the check out, the Pelligrino was still on the tab and we had to ask them to take it off. We both got pasta, the lasagna and the chicken masala, and a caesar salad. The noodles tasted like it was made in house, which was nice. Chicken was not overly breaded and the sauce was light. The salad had too much cheese but I think some people just like that on their salad. I'm interested to try their pizza at some point in the future, assuming we can make it in time before they close ;)

We came in around 10:30 AM and got our drinks pretty quick even though the cafe was busy. There are plenty of tables so it was perfect for us to stay and do some work. I ordered the horchata latte without whipped cream and I really liked it! The coffee flavor was strong and you could taste a hit of cinnamon. My friend for the matchata (horchata matcha) with vanilla cold foam and she enjoyed her drink as well. Their drinks are definitely on the sweeter side but are also highly customizable!
