The setup is so cute, I love pop-up concepts because they're typically very open and it's cool to see all the inner workings of the business and how they make each order. I quickly felt very welcome here! One of the co-owners, Israel, gave me a whole rundown of the business and how it's been partnering with Nami Matcha to sell their product. He was an absolute angel and answered all of my nosy questions! Onto the drink, I opted for the Nami Matcha which comes with Nami matcha powder, oat milk and agave. A very simple drink that truly allows the flavor of the matcha to shine! Israel asked me if I wanted a little cold foam on top and I couldn't say no, so that added a delicate sweetness to the drink. What really stood out this visit, though, was the service. An employee mentioned that they had accidentally made an extra Churro Coffee and asked if I wanted it. Of course I said yes! They were incredibly sweet, friendly, and genuinely kind throughout my visit, and they even surprised me with a complimentary Tres Leches Cafe sticker. It was such a thoughtful little touch, and I made sure to thank them for it. Then came the bittersweet part. They let me know that this Sunday would be their last day at this location, and I was honestly so bummed to hear that. I had literally just discovered them, and this was already my third visit! It's always a little disappointing when you find a place you really enjoy and then realize you won't have as much time to keep coming back. Still, I'm really glad I got the chance to experience Tres Leches Cafe while I could. Tres Leches is big on community and supporting everyone, especially those who are more vulnerable and being persecuted. There were similar additional signage inside as well. The barista at the register was friendly and welcoming. I ordered the cafe horchata in an OG size (24 oz), and initially wanted it hot but since their horchata is made cold, I got it with light ice instead. My drink was ready within a few minutes and I was on my way. When I sipped my drink, I only tasted the coffee on top so I used my own straw to mix it with the horchata at the bottom. It was delicious and hit the spot on a warm day. I love the combination of the sweet rice drink and the bitter coffee.
