Before I started my long road trip back to Southern California, I stopped by this coffee shop to get a little pick-me-up for the drive. Driftwood is a small shop in an unassuming area. Peoria seems like a nice place to be, and this is a great representation. It's a tiny coffee shop that exists on the corner of a small street. Great vibes when you walk in, and the staff is friendly and warm. I ordered a short iced latte and waited for the drink to be made. Lotsa folks around getting their day started, or doing some work for the day. The energy was perfect, and my coffee arrived promptly. I gave it a sip and went on my way. The coffee was not bad, but pretty much unremarkable in that regard. I enjoyed it as a sipping coffee, but it was a little too dark on the roast for me. Not their fault, as they're a multiroaster. Overall, I think it's a great place to grab a coffee, and especially if you like flavored drinks! Perhaps a mocha or a vanilla latte would slap! Come here for a nice slow morning or if you want a mood boost! read more

Revitalizing anything takes time, energy and above all patience. Thanks to these amazing folks at driftwood they have a place that offers you at least 2 of the three while the good folks rejuvenating downtown Peoria attempt to do just what was done in phoenix out west. Clean space to work or relax, friendly faces, tasty home made treats, games, a small rack of vintage clothing options, and above all some amazing coffee. Please swing in and continue to pour back local and help bring another part of our amazing valley onto the scene for all to enjoy read more

3.5 stars. Really needed a pick me up nearby and saw this place. There's a walk up window to order in front of the patio seating too. Inside is a chill vibe, probably great to read or work at. We got a vanilla latte, hoping it would be delicious and rejuvenating. Though smooth, it lacked depth and richness and the strength of espresso and flavor. Maybe I ordered the wrong item but we felt a vanilla latte should've been a safe choice. read more

I never knew this coffee shop existed! It's such a cute place in downtown Peoria. Although I live in Peoria, I hadn't explored much of it. It was cool to encounter this place! The service was great, the staff even brought the coffee over to me, I was expected to just be called to grab. I love the mural and the coffee was delicious! read more

A bit indifferent on this place. A neat little shop that is pet friendly. The workers seemed nice but the coffee was a bit lacking . My mocha was good but my wife couldn't drink her Iced Vanilla Latte. She ended up tossing it. Too strong on the espresso and very lacking in the vanilla flavor. Think there are better options for us. read more

Cute spot in the older part of Peoria just off Grand. It's fairly small and they don't have a lot of flavor options unfortunately. But if you're more of a classic coffee drinker, this would be a good spot. Also, if you prefer a more bitter, straight up coffee taste. Friendly service and plenty of seating. read more

This place was fun! Definitely one of the better coffee shops on the west side of the valley. They also have an ordering window to use which is convenient for people on a tight schedule. There is indoor and outdoor seating here, and it was medium busy when I visited on Saturday around 1030am. I really loved all of the old school decorations they had here. Lots of vinyls for sale and other fun merchandise. Also some grab and go items. The menu is simple which makes ordering easier. I decided to try Angelica's special which was a cold brew with a delicious cold foam on top that included cinnamon and other delicious spices. My friend and I also split one of the homemade pop tarts and it was really yummy. I would definitely recommend checking this place out if you're in the neighborhood and craving some coffee. read more

Driftwood has been on my radar for a bit and I was so glad I was able to meet a good friend of mine a couple of days ago. It is quaint inside but we were able to find seating right away as people do come and go. When the weather isn't scorching hot, it will be nice to sit outside under the covered patio area. Alyssa greeted us and helped us with our drink selections. She let us know that we could make our selections sweet or less sweeter if we wanted. Always good to know! This also made me happy; they have macadamia milk (Mac) as an option!!!! WooHoo!! I noticed some different special seasonal drinks and decided to try them. I ordered their take on the Cuban and also a side of the elderflower shaken espresso. The Cuban was good & strong! The elderflower shaken espresso, there was something that tasted off to both me & my friend so my friend brought it up to their attention and I was offered either a refund or another drink. I'm a Matcha freak so when I saw Alyssa making a Matcha drink the proper way, I decided to make the next one a Matcha. They refused to take any additional money as I wanted to make sure that it wasn't anything against them. It was probably me. Since they wouldn't take anything, I just left an additional cash tip. It was super nice of them to replace my drink and not charge. Their customer service is superb and I appreciate that!! I will definitely be back to see the beautiful smiles and enjoy great drinks at this adorable establishment. read more

I've tried driftwood a few years back, I remember them having a DELICIOUS shredded beef burrito - that sadly they do not offer anymore. Overall I enjoy their breakfast burritos, their coffee personally is not my favorite. I tried a seasonal drink this time, the lychee coconut latte - it didn't taste very coconutty or much like lychee in my opinion. My mom did enjoy the coffee though! We also ordered 2 sausage egg burritos that come with salsa - delicious. The salsa is very fresh and doesn't have any spice to it but good flavor. They also have an outdoor playground that is shaded perfect for play dates especially in the nice weather and a variety of pastries - but they do not offer a menu for pastry or food items so you will be having to ask what's available. FUN FACT: they're connected to a church called Axiom!! read more

On a mission to try all good matcha now that I live in west valley and this one totally makes the cut! Tried their cookie butter latte special, but subbed the espresso for matcha. 10/10, perfect matcha color, not sugary. My husband tried the spiced fig seasonal drink and rate 9/10- flavor wasn't his favorite, at no fault to the shop. Great espresso quality and not too milky Only complaint is the lack of substantial food, like a breakfast burrito or sandwich. Their pastry case was a bit sparse, but I would come back and check another time read more

I don't usually find myself in this part of town, so always excited to try something outside my norm.Driftwood Coffee was a great option to meet up with a few colleagues and get a caffeine pick me up. They have ample parking around the cafe which is great. The space is cute and provides a fair amount of tables, I can see it filling up quick though. I did not love their built in bench/booth situation. I'm not tall by any means, but technically considered "average" in height and my feet couldn't touch the ground. It's definitely not conducive or comfortable for working or honestly even sitting. They had a few various specials and of course classics. One of their bevvies was a shaken espresso with cold foam top. I went with something similar, but just espresso with no sweetner and their sweat cream cold foam. It was good and honestly frequently what i would enjoy at home. It was a bit steep and for two of those about 15 dollars. They also have a few pastries, but no menu that lists the offerings. Service was friendly and overall a cute spot. read more

The best coffee shop in Peoria Always reliable as a place to catch up with friends, focus on work, or get a coffee on the go. Love that there is a playground connected with the church for kids to play on as well. Super family friendly and a weekly spot for me! :) read more

This was our first time at the coffee shop, and the girl at the counter was not friendly at all. She seemed annoyed when we were taking an extra minute to order and she didn't offer any advice or suggest anything. Is it so hard to smile and be courteous to a customer? read more

I was really looking forward to this place -- drove 20 minutes with my daughter for the playground and a treat. Instead, we got rude service and a watery lavender latte. The guy at the counter greeted us with "So what's up, then said are you guys going to order?" and when my mom asked about the pastries, he said, "It's a brown muffin" with full sarcasm. Not worth the time or money. read more

A cute coffee shop in AZ. It is a big space for it to be only a coffee shop. They do have some desserts which are provided by another business. They have a ton of seating inside and outside with a side yard that has a playground for kids. Their coffee's really good. We've had it multiple times while visiting family in PHX. My husband got one of their seasonal drinks, Mr. Dose (& a long Russian name) he really enjoyed that. I got a nitro pumpkin spice, which was decent. I've had better ones from them. The service is always good! They are friendly and willing to make a drink that's not on the menu. read more

I really wanted to like this place since it's a small local business, but overall I wasn't super impressed. The coffee was just okay, especially for the price, and the flavor options were pretty limited. There's also an extra charge for milk alternatives, which felt a bit unnecessary. I was also surprised they don't offer pup cups -- even if you offer to pay for one. For a place that gets a lot of local buzz, I expected more in terms of flavor and value. Not terrible, just not somewhere I'd go out of my way to visit again. Hopefully they keep improving because I love seeing small spots succeed! read more

Great coffee, can not say enough good things about coffee. Only negative would be lack of food options.

Super cute coffee shop with the right vibes to hang out or study or read or whatever you want! I will say, the coffee is SUPER expensive but very good. I enjoyed my latte and I want to try other items as well. The service was great; everyone is super friendly and nice and my drink was made quickly and correctly. I like how they took an old building in an older, historic part of town and really revitalized it and made it hip and trendy. This is a coffee shop you should definitely check out. read more

Everything about this coffee spot was correct. The ambiance, the service, and of course the coffee. The barista was excellent, and she even followed up on how our drinks tasted. I'd definitely go back if I lived in this state. read more

This is one of my favorite coffee shops to go to when I'm in Peoria. Their chai is my go-to and they use my favorite oat milk. I have done so much homework here. It's the perfect study date place with chill vibes and good music. I wish some of the chairs were more ergonomic, but I get it, it's for the vibes. The baristas are always friendly and the drinks always taste delicious. A hometown fave for sure. Now that I moved to Surprise, I wish they had a location over here. read more

Love this coffee shop. Had the Cuban and honey lavender latte. Really liked the Cuban just enough sweet and strong to help me work my 12 hr night shift at the hospital. Driftwood is so cute and quiet. The neighborhood is exactly the same! Clean, quiet, down the street from the shop is a community center, behind the shop is a completely shaded play area with tables and chairs to lounge while the kids play. The area is almost complete fenced in which was my favorite part of the location. Haha the seasonal coffees are very creative. I tried, "The Remix" and to my delighted surprise, there were real peanuts in the bottom. The pastries are from a local bakery and very flavorful. Jacob, from Mystic Coffee in Gilbert is one of the roasters at this shop and then it made sense why the coffee itself was so good. Haha The handcrafted drinks take a little longer than your average coffee shop but will not disappoint. read more

I'm currently doing my Master's degree and have been in search for a coffee shop in the west valley for some time. There are many great options in downtown Phoenix, but I sometimes don't have the time or energy to drive out. Additionally, there are very few coffee shops open late. Driftwood fulfilled both of those desires. Right in the heart of Peoria, it is 12 minutes away, and have the aesthetically pleasing and spacious environment of the hip coffee shops downtown. I ordered a seasonal cold brew and my wife a dirty chair and both drinks were delicious. The shop stays open until 9pm so there's plenty of time to study in the afternoon. Selfishly, I'd love to keep this place to myself, but a place this great deserves to be recognized! Give it a visit! read more

One of the most criminally underrated coffee shops that I hope never leaves the west valley because we are desperate for good coffee and gathering spaces! This is a cute lil place to grab coffee! This coffee shop is located along Jefferson Street in Old Town Peoria, and there's plenty of street parking available. There's a cute patio area outside and indoor seating if you want to sit and do work. The interior of the shop is a nice, clean, bright space with pieces from local artists and plants! I liked how they offered alternative milks and had an interesting seasonal menu. I ordered a Lake Havasu (a matcha latte with blackberry syrup and rosemary) and a chocolate chip cookie, both of which I enjoyed! The matcha latte was smooth and not too sweet, and the chocolate chip cookie was interesting with hibiscus petals inside (added an interesting fruity/sour taste when you got to it). Driftwood coffee is a cute coffee shop. I got a vanilla latte, half sweet, with oat milk. They didn't have any decaf espresso sadly, so I got regular. I have visited Driftwood Coffee many times now and usually enjoy my coffee. The space is clean, bright, and I love seeing the local art. Nice patio and a walk up window if you're joined by a four legged friend. Cute seasonal menu. They also get an interesting selection of mostly sweet baked goods. I've enjoyed their more savory pastry collection, when available. The most inconsistent thing here is the customer service. Don't get me wrong, I am not looking to share my life story with someone making my coffee, or vice versa. Some of the employees are friendly and make you feel welcomed. A few are pretty low energy and make you feel like an inconvenience. It is a shame, because it has swayed me from wanting to go here over other local coffee businesses close by who are more consistently kind. TLDR: come here for a good cup of coffee and if it is not too busy, some work space. read more
