Before I started my long road trip back to Southern California, I stopped by this coffee shop to get a little pick-me-up for the drive. Driftwood is a small shop in an unassuming area. Peoria seems like a nice place to be, and this is a great representation. It's a tiny coffee shop that exists on the corner of a small street. Great vibes when you walk in, and the staff is friendly and warm. I ordered a short iced latte and waited for the drink to be made. Lotsa folks around getting their day started, or doing some work for the day. The energy was perfect, and my coffee arrived promptly. I gave it a sip and went on my way. The coffee was not bad, but pretty much unremarkable in that regard. I enjoyed it as a sipping coffee, but it was a little too dark on the roast for me. Not their fault, as they're a multiroaster. Overall, I think it's a great place to grab a coffee, and especially if you like flavored drinks! Perhaps a mocha or a vanilla latte would slap! 3.5 stars. Really needed a pick me up nearby and saw this place. There's a walk up window to order in front of the patio seating too. Inside is a chill vibe, probably great to read or work at. We got a vanilla latte, hoping it would be delicious and rejuvenating. Though smooth, it lacked depth and richness and the strength of espresso and flavor. A bit indifferent on this place. A neat little shop that is pet friendly. The workers seemed nice but the coffee was a bit lacking . My mocha was good but my wife couldn't drink her Iced Vanilla Latte. She ended up tossing it. Too strong on the espresso and very lacking in the vanilla flavor. This place was fun! Definitely one of the better coffee shops on the west side of the valley. They also have an ordering window to use which is convenient for people on a tight schedule. There is indoor and outdoor seating here, and it was medium busy when I visited on Saturday around 1030am. I really loved all of the old school decorations they had here. Lots of vinyls for sale and other fun merchandise. Also some grab and go items. The menu is simple which makes ordering easier. I decided to try Angelica's special which was a cold brew with a delicious cold foam on top that included cinnamon and other delicious spices. My friend and I also split one of the homemade pop tarts and it was really yummy. I would definitely recommend checking this place out if you're in the neighborhood and craving some coffee. read more

Driftwood has been on my radar for a bit and I was so glad I was able to meet a good friend of mine a couple of days ago. It is quaint inside but we were able to find seating right away as people do come and go. When the weather isn't scorching hot, it will be nice to sit outside under the covered patio area. Alyssa greeted us and helped us with our drink selections. She let us know that we could make our selections sweet or less sweeter if we wanted. Always good to know! This also made me happy; they have macadamia milk (Mac) as an option!!!! WooHoo!! I noticed some different special seasonal drinks and decided to try them. I ordered their take on the Cuban and also a side of the elderflower shaken espresso. The Cuban was good & strong! The elderflower shaken espresso, there was something that tasted off to both me & my friend so my friend brought it up to their attention and I was offered either a refund or another drink. I'm a Matcha freak so when I saw Alyssa making a Matcha drink the proper way, I decided to make the next one a Matcha. They refused to take any additional money as I wanted to make sure that it wasn't anything against them. It was probably me. Since they wouldn't take anything, I just left an additional cash tip. It was super nice of them to replace my drink and not charge. Their customer service is superb and I appreciate that!! I've tried driftwood a few years back, I remember them having a DELICIOUS shredded beef burrito - that sadly they do not offer anymore. Overall I enjoy their breakfast burritos, their coffee personally is not my favorite. I tried a seasonal drink this time, the lychee coconut latte - it didn't taste very coconutty or much like lychee in my opinion. My mom did enjoy the coffee though! We also ordered 2 sausage egg burritos that come with salsa - delicious. The salsa is very fresh and doesn't have any spice to it but good flavor. They also have an outdoor playground that is shaded perfect for play dates especially in the nice weather and a variety of pastries - but they do not offer a menu for pastry or food items so you will be having to ask what's available. On a mission to try all good matcha now that I live in west valley and this one totally makes the cut! Tried their cookie butter latte special, but subbed the espresso for matcha. 10/10, perfect matcha color, not sugary. My husband tried the spiced fig seasonal drink and rate 9/10- flavor wasn't his favorite, at no fault to the shop. Great espresso quality and not too milky Only complaint is the lack of substantial food, like a breakfast burrito or sandwich. They have ample parking around the cafe which is great. The space is cute and provides a fair amount of tables, I can see it filling up quick though. I did not love their built in bench/booth situation. I'm not tall by any means, but technically considered "average" in height and my feet couldn't touch the ground. It's definitely not conducive or comfortable for working or honestly even sitting. They had a few various specials and of course classics. One of their bevvies was a shaken espresso with cold foam top. I went with something similar, but just espresso with no sweetner and their sweat cream cold foam. It was good and honestly frequently what i would enjoy at home. It was a bit steep and for two of those about 15 dollars. They also have a few pastries, but no menu that lists the offerings. A cute coffee shop in AZ. It is a big space for it to be only a coffee shop. They do have some desserts which are provided by another business. They have a ton of seating inside and outside with a side yard that has a playground for kids. Their coffee's really good. We've had it multiple times while visiting family in PHX. My husband got one of their seasonal drinks, Mr. Dose (& a long Russian name) he really enjoyed that. I got a nitro pumpkin spice, which was decent. I've had better ones from them. This is one of my favorite coffee shops to go to when I'm in Peoria. Their chai is my go-to and they use my favorite oat milk. I have done so much homework here. It's the perfect study date place with chill vibes and good music. I wish some of the chairs were more ergonomic, but I get it, it's for the vibes. I really wanted to like this place since it's a small local business, but overall I wasn't super impressed. The coffee was just okay, especially for the price, and the flavor options were pretty limited. There's also an extra charge for milk alternatives, which felt a bit unnecessary. I was also surprised they don't offer pup cups -- even if you offer to pay for one. For a place that gets a lot of local buzz, I expected more in terms of flavor and value. Not terrible, just not somewhere I'd go out of my way to visit again. Hopefully they keep improving because I love seeing small spots succeed! read more

Driftwood is so cute and quiet. The neighborhood is exactly the same! Clean, quiet, down the street from the shop is a community center, behind the shop is a completely shaded play area with tables and chairs to lounge while the kids play. The area is almost complete fenced in which was my favorite part of the location. Haha the seasonal coffees are very creative. I tried, "The Remix" and to my delighted surprise, there were real peanuts in the bottom. The pastries are from a local bakery and very flavorful. Jacob, from Mystic Coffee in Gilbert is one of the roasters at this shop and then it made sense why the coffee itself was so good. I'm currently doing my Master's degree and have been in search for a coffee shop in the west valley for some time. There are many great options in downtown Phoenix, but I sometimes don't have the time or energy to drive out. Additionally, there are very few coffee shops open late. Driftwood fulfilled both of those desires. Right in the heart of Peoria, it is 12 minutes away, and have the aesthetically pleasing and spacious environment of the hip coffee shops downtown. I ordered a seasonal cold brew and my wife a dirty chair and both drinks were delicious. The shop stays open until 9pm so there's plenty of time to study in the afternoon. Selfishly, I'd love to keep this place to myself, but a place this great deserves to be recognized! Give it a visit! read more

There's a cute patio area outside and indoor seating if you want to sit and do work. The interior of the shop is a nice, clean, bright space with pieces from local artists and plants! I liked how they offered alternative milks and had an interesting seasonal menu. I ordered a Lake Havasu (a matcha latte with blackberry syrup and rosemary) and a chocolate chip cookie, both of which I enjoyed!
