Nice place to enjoy some coffee! Not only the coffee is delicious but the sandwiches are just as good! Drinks and food are very good. Great service and environment that's very welcoming. I catch myself stopping all throughout the day now when I'm in the area ha definitely recommend to family and friends and everybody else.
I go weekly now because I get a half gallon of cold brew every week. I learned that I don't like a lot of coffees now that I'm hooked on this cold brew. I love this place, and I should have taken a picture of the sign out front. Great vibe, great customer service, and dog friendly!
Cool, laid-back spot with a welcoming vibe right in the heart of downtown Glendale. There is plenty of free nearby parking, including right in front of the place! I ordered a blueberry pomegranate smoothie that was out of this world delicious. Friends ordered coffee, which they enjoyed. The food offerings smelled good but we didn't try anything. I do want to go back for a food, old fashioned grilled cheese sandwich one of these days.
Today, my usual coffee routine took a detour when I stumbled upon The Black Sheep, a charming spot tucked away in the heart of Downtown Glendale. From the moment you step inside, you're greeted by an incredibly inviting atmosphere that masterfully blends industrial cool with quirky coziness. The concrete floors and sleek, matching polished counters give it an undeniably modern, industrial edge. Yet, this is beautifully softened and enlivened by the fantastic hand-painted art on the brick walls. It's funky, it's artistic, and it somehow feels both edgy and incredibly welcoming; a truly unique vibe that instantly makes you want to settle in and stay a while. As an appreciative patron of plant-based options, I was thrilled to see their menu had a vegan option. I indulged in their vegan grilled cheese sandwich. Pressed in a panini maker, it was crispy on the outside, gooey and savory on the inside. Beyond the food and drinks, the experience was elevated by the genuinely friendly staff. They were welcoming and efficient, and it was lovely to see them taking the time to chat and laugh with their regulars, creating a real sense of community and warmth. The prices were extremely reasonable. It's refreshing to find a place that offers such great value without compromising on quality or atmosphere. The Black Sheep isn't just another coffee shop; it's a vibrant, welcoming haven that hits all the right notes. Good food and drinks, a unique and cozy atmosphere, and wonderful service, all at a great price. Consider me a new regular.
The cutest little place and the sweetest employee! I've been dying to come here and I can't wait to come back. We got a strawberry and banana smoothie, it was so refreshing! Perfect little evening drink with nice weather
I used to live in Glendale and this was the only place I came for coffee, matcha, etc. The staff here are super kind. This cafe has a really nice feel to it also, they have music play and a tv too I'm pretty sure. It's very calm here love itt! Unfortunately I only have one photo but I can tell you I have been here numerous of times
Great coffee and bites! The shop is also a great place to study, work, or hang out. The staff is very friendly. When you arrive, you will need to park in the back (next to the Glendale Courthouse). There should be a rear entrance to The Black Sheep from the parking lot. I recommend the pesto provolone sandwich with turkey and a side of their chipotle sauce. In the fall, they also have a delicious pumpkin cold foam. It's made in-house with real ingredients - not processed.
Great Mocha. Service was quick and friendly. Neat little shop. Didn't have one but their pastries looked amazing. I'll have to try one of their cinnamon rolls next time I'm in. Now go get you some.
I've been working at coffee shops this week and thought i'd be coffee out. But The Black Sheep is incredible. Nestled in Downtown Glendale, this is an open space with great coffee and even better service. I ordered an iced The Emily- Salted Caramel Latte with Irish Cream Cold Foam. It was the perfect weekday pick me up. It had the warm sweetness of the caramel and irish cream that's cut by the salt and coffee flavor. Cute spot to stop in. It's open until 8 PM so it'd be a great place to get a warm drink during Glendale Glitters.
Coming from Seattle, I have been heavily disappointed in most of the coffee I've had in Arizona. This place is one of the few that we've actually liked! We got a vanilla latte (with vanilla cold foam) and a brown sugar honey and cinnamon latte (with cookie butter cold foam). Both were really good. Service was friendly and atmosphere is great for working/studying. They have WiFi, lots of tables, and ample street parking. We will return!

Absolutely loved my visit to Black Sheep Coffee! I ordered an iced Irish cream amaretto coffee--it was smooth, perfectly balanced, and had just the right hint of sweetness. For food, I had the spinach and cheese panini with added turkey and a side of chipotle aioli. The panini was fresh and flavorful, and the chipotle aioli took it to another level. The atmosphere was cozy, the staff was friendly, and everything was made with care. Definitely one of my new favorite coffee spots in Glendale!

I came across this cafe through the Phoenix Coffee Crawl. I decided this would be my first stop since I was close by and was in need to WiFi. The space itself is pretty big with plenty of tables. The woman who took my order was super sweet and they even delivered the drink to my seat! I ordered a latte with cookie butter syrup and almond milk. It was an okay latte! Nothing inherently bad about it but it just didn't taste anything like cookie butter. Next time, I would probably get one of their specialty lattes to try. Rating Cookie butter latte: 2.5/5 read more
Such a cute spot and was able to find parking easily (it was a 2 hour limit). I ordered the Dani and the jalapeño grilled cheese. The drink was good, but the cheese pull on the sandwich was the star. Also loved that they were dog friendly and had WiFi so we could stay and do some work. read more

I used to live in Glendale and this was the only place I came for coffee, matcha, etc. The staff here are super kind. Looking around spontaneously for a coffee shop and bump into thee. They have a lot of good options, iced and hot. I got a 20z Matcha latte with lavender syrup. It was tasteful ... 4/5 Service was wonderful, the girls were sweet. read more

This lil coffee shop is in the heart of downtown Glendale and I had no idea? Wow!! Such a cute cafe with homey vibes and amazing staff! You feel welcomed as soon as you walk in and the menu seems to change often based on the baristas choices! How fun to be creative with the drinks. So far I've really enjoyed all of Jazz's creations like the Mexican Mocha Latte and Horchata Latte. The valentines menu was by far a favorite of mine! Strawberry matcha was delicioso!! For food I have only tried the chicken pesto panini press. Amazingly good and definitely ask for the chipotle side if you order this. I've been lucky to park in the spots near the entrance, I'm not certain if there is extra in the back. Found a new go to cafe for whenever I'm in Glendale. P.S the music is always poppin lol read more

I came here last Monday for my first time and I would like to try this place out again. The first time I didn't fully explore the menu or place but just by looking it, I can see myself returning here and fully enjoying the atmosphere. I order an iced coffee with a chocolate chip cookie. The service was very friendly. The coffee was then brought out to me and I enjoyed the taste of my drink. The prices are a bit pricey here but I like to try new things around Arizona. I will be returning here thanks to my first time experience :) read more

Everything I love about midtown PHX vibes but in Glendale. Simple black ink street art esque designs on the white brick walls. Poured concrete floors with plenty of seating. Low key but upbeat classic tunes. Walking in the room was full of happy conversations but not so loud as you want to just get your coffee and leave. Staff were prompt but friendly. I'm excited to try more of the menu! read more

I love a chill coffee shop ! And the black sheep is exactly that . Wanted to sit and have coffee and read my book . Immediately when I walked in I loved the decor , very urban black & white art on the walls . The girl at the cash register was so welcoming and kind and informative when I had questions about what were the ingredients in the sandwiches. They all wore smiles which made me smile and I just knew I was in the right place of comfort . What I ordered . Wanted to try something new then my usual I get from other shops . The abby was what grabbed my attention, which included ; notes of toffee nut & hazel nut syrup with replacement of oat milk instead of dairy milk . I also ordered a chocolate muffin which they warmed up for me , as well as the turkey & provolone sandwich which had ; tomato, provolone cheese , jalapeño, pickles , Mayo and Turkey grilled . So yummy ! Highly recommend . Ambiance I'd have to say dark in the inside ( they have big windows up front ) but still dark inside not too bright . but I bet a vibe during the evening is superb. Nice artwork . My most favorite part of all was when you head to the back patio there's walls of old school records and cassette tapes along the walls as well as the bathroom . love that this coffee shop has an extension to it , you don't have to sit inside you can chill outside and vibe and they also play really great music . Such warm and friendly service with genuine smiles! This downtown Glendale coffee shop has great indoor and outdoor spaces. They offer all dairy options (including half and half for your breves) as well as oat, almond and soy milks. Vanilla latte was solid. Holiday special maple Cinnamon Amaretto was interesting. They offer discount (5%) for bringing in your own mug. Outlets along the walls and Free WiFi mean you can get some work done here! (Just bring some good noise cancelling headphones as the music played is not loud, but can make it difficult to concentrate if you need to do real work.) read more

Black sheep I Luh u my sister loves it here and we're here basically everyday and I've grown accustomed to it, their espresso is great it's such high quality, I love their specials that they change out every month, as well as their staff, they're great and always welcoming. We sit around and wait and we usually pull out one of their games and hang out til then I love it read more
Food, service, and ambience were all awesome! I ordered the bruschetta which was topped with avocado and tomato. I really enjoyed the flavors and the crusty outside of the bread. The interior of the bred was a bit soft for my liking and got soggy as the toppings absorbed. I think if it had been toasted a bit longer it would have been perfect. I also ordered the small fig salad, and I'm really glad I got the small! It was a good size in my opinion. The toppings of crunchy pancetta and sliced figs was a great blend of sweet and savory. Didn't get any special drinks, but my friends all enjoyed the wine selection. Overall this was a really nice spot to have a meal with friends where we could actually talk and hear each other. read more

So Yelper's, another fabulous establishment to add to the review's and to check out. I was pretty amazed by this little hole in the wall joint. Very clean spot to kick back, order some coffee and a pastry or maybe even a sandwich. Which my heart settled on..and the customer service. Tip top to the T. In preparation for a long day of college move-out, my mom and I decided to grab coffees. I had heard good things about Black Sheep from friends, and knew I wouldn't be disappointed as soon as I walked inside. The atmosphere was upbeat and welcoming. My mom and I were greeted with smiles by the employees who helpfully offered their personal coffee suggestions. While the coffee was delicious, the coffee cake was divine! With the reasonable price, spacious seating, and friendly atmosphere, Black Sheep doesn't disappoint! read more

Alright my honest review of this place. Good AND bad... I've been here around 30-40 times in my last few years of living in Glendale. I'll start with this is probably one of the best spots we have in our area and in the downtown district. Arrowhead and up north of here has some solid spots so this is kinda a neighborhood gem, and we are grateful they're here doing well. The atmosphere is great, plenty of area to spread out and hang/play games with friends, study/read, or just enjoy a coffee. However on that note - sometimes the music is really loud and not relaxing so I've had times I've come to study and had to cut it short. It's safer of a place to socialize and catch up with a friend or bring a date! As for the coffee it's very consistent - 5/5. They rotate their "specials" and most I've tried were good - some better than others. But it does make it fun they try different things so you can try new coffees instead of ordering the same latte every time. Not bad pricing overall but they do kinda charge for every modification like most places. Overall my peers and I agree their coffee is really good and it's a great spot to hit and bring visitors. Now time for the only reason this place did not get 5 stars - their customer service and staff is a solid 3/5. Like I've said - my gf and I have been here 30-40 times and have seen the owner and many of her baristas multiple times. I don't think once she or any of the staff has ever recognized us, said hi, asked how we've been, or tried to get to know us or anyone we've brought. We aren't some Karen's who think we need to be treated differently/special. But when you've continuously supported a place and the staff never cares to recognize their semi "regulars" or simply ask how you're doing - it gets old. One time the owner asked if it's our first time and we wanted to laugh because we've seen her at least 20 times, but we politely said no we've been here quite a few times. We've been to coffee shops only a couple times where owner/staff recognizes us as repeated customers and gives some sort of respect/appreciation. But I get it, we aren't that remarkable or memorable of human beings so it's okay LOL. The baristas here are all young like us but never too polite. In fact we sometimes even feel like a bother when we modify or ask questions. Today I said thanks twice to the barista and she didn't even say a word back to me - it was just awkward. We are at a crossroads where we want to support local but get treated more second-rate than we do at Starbucks honestly. I hope the owner takes this review into consideration as the customer service is the ONLY thing lacking at this amazing place she's done a great job building up! The best way I can describe Black Sheep, is it's your local neighborhood quality coffee where you get treated like another corporation (Starbucks, Dunkin, etc.). Others' experience likely varies drastically from mine as they probably feel more acknowledged as a customer, but we've just had trouble feeling at "home" here like we do at our other local bars/restaurants. This is just how we feel at this point in time. We will keep coming back for sure but it was time to leave a sincere review - 4 stars overall! read more
