The online waiting system needs a little polishing and front end needs retraining in customer service. We picked your restaurant as food looked great and the wait time was 20-40 min. We waited over an hour before we got seated. After placing ourselves in the waiting list on line, as per our conversation over the phone, we checked in 30 minutes to find out our place in the wait list. The brunette lady at the front desk with a condescending tone told me that as "you see people are dining and the tables are full". I requested to check my place on the list and verify how i would be contacted once the table became available. This lady told me it would be 10 minutes and that i would get a text at my phone number. So i went back to waiting with a bit of sour taste on my mouth due to the condescending tone. Fast forward 30 more minutes and still no text. I go back to the front host, now attended by a much pleasant lady, and she informed that i still had 3 more people ahead of us and that it would be 10 minutes. The original brunette curly haired lady said that no one had been seated since i last checked in 30 minutes prior. What?!?!? I asked the other lady about this and she said that the waitlist is odd in a way that if someone on the waitlist was passed by due to no response when called this will put them below in the queue but if they show up then they had priority, but we will get called in about 10 minutes if we wanted to be seated. At this point i had half way decided to leave but other places were already well below an hour wait and we were not even on a list. I left but a few minutes later we were called to get seated. Once seated our waiter Cory was pleasant and prompt in offering us beverages. He came back within a good amount of time to take our order. Half way through our meal he dropped off the check without even coming back to check on us or if we needed anything else. Throughout our time seated I saw people being seated every 5 minutes -small and large parties- this lead me to think that the ball was dropped with us and the worse part was that there was no accountability or apology for the extra wait time. We were touring the area and everyone had been so nice up until our last meal which made us late for our last activity before heading back home. As good as the food and the pricing was, for sure next year we will be looking for an alternative or go back to the restaurant across the street BISCUITS CAFE for better service and amazing food. 1 star for the food being good. I ordered the trifecta with Belgium waffle the food tasted amazing as always, make sure to try their purple haze drink it's very good. Birthday Breakfast: It was a great experience from the phone call to inquire about getting on the wait list to departure. Both associates I spoke to on the phone were super polite even though I could tell it was busy. I didn't get their names but they represented First Watch well. The time for the waitlist when we signed up was 1 hour to 1.5 hours. We arrived and checked in 34 minutes into our waitlist position. They have a good system. Hubby and I sat in the car because the patio was not an option. Too cool. :-) We went in to check on our status with 15 minutes remaining and they were about to clean a table. Kelly was a wonderful server. I had been to First Watch in MD a couple times so was familiar with the menu and was why I chose First Watch for my birthday. I ordered the Tri-Fecta with a Belgian waffle and bacon. I had cheese added to my eggs. The waffle was nice & light and the eggs were seasoned well. I also ordered Morning Meditation fresh juice. When we dined in the food was really good, but when we did a takeout order, the hostess was very rude and acted like it was a complete inconvenience. Took forever to get the takeout order and then when I got home and checked it, it was the wrong order. By suggestion of our server I went with the Chickichanga. It's Whipped eggs with spicy, all-natural chicken breast, chorizo, green chilies, Cheddar and Monterey Jack, onions and avocado rolled in a flour tortilla. It's topped with Vera Cruz sauce and sour cream. There's also fruit and fresh seasoned potatoes. The fruit was served in a rather small cup. The season potatoes were very good but you don't get many of them. I asked for Vera sauce on the side just in case I didn't like it. But I loved it. There's not a whole lot of stuff packed inside in the tortilla. It was good and filling. My colleague ordered the farmhouse hash. Though I didn't try any of it he said it was very good. We are staying near State Farm Stadium for spring training and stopped by First Watch for breakfast. We enjoyed the free refill fresh coffee, the Trifecta (eggs, bacon with your choice of pancake - I got the banana almond granola one - delicious!), the Power bowl and the kids French toast with bacon (and an added egg). Everything tasted good! My only bit of feedback was that the Kale tonic juice which I was really excited about was way too sweet and it's not fresh pressed, despite taking awhile to come out. Our waitress was willing to remove it from the bill which was kind of her but I was hoping for more heavy kale flavor and not so much apple; it was like green apple juice. As you can see from my previous reviews, we really liked this place...gave them 5 stars on both of them. We've been ordering take out a lot and were really happy with the food we got. Everything was spot on and we always got what we ordered. However, over the last months, the food has been kind of hit and miss. One time it would be perfect, the next we'd get food that was edible, but not great. Well, I think today was the last straw. Hubby got the Avocado Toast which was bombarded with salt, so much he couldn't even eat it. He got a side of the fruit cup and the honeydew (which was most of it) was just hard and definitely not ripe. I got the Farmhouse Hash which I get a lot and always ask for hard-cooked potatoes...I like 'em seared and soft. For the most part, that's what I would get and they were delicious! Unfortunately, lately, I'll have more and more of them just hard, so hard I can't even get my fork through it. Well, in today's, I'd say about 90% of the potatoes were just raw. You know what else was raw??? The bacon! Honestly, serving raw bacon in a hash, that's horrible! And, whoever decided to pour salt on hubby's avocado's, just kept pouring over my entire hash. Did they unscrew the top of the salt shaker?? Anyway, today was a massive disappointment from us for a restaurant that we really enjoyed frequenting. Not sure if we'll give it a go one more time, but we'll definitely think twice before attempting...sad. read more

A deliciously refreshing juice consisting of OJ, beet juice, turmeric and ginger. So good I have been trying to recreate it at home! For food had the triathlete plate made up off an egg white omelette with homemade salsa, fruit cup, and toast. Packed with protein and taste! Other dishes ordered around the table included a regular omelette, strawberry pancakes, a potato hash with eggs, side orders of regular bacon and millionaire bacon. Loved that this restaurant served healthy options. Loved that the menu gives full disclosure on the amount of estimated carbs and calories you maybe intaking. Love the tasty food and drinks. There is a reason why there are multiple "First Watch" restaurants in town; twenty in Phoenix to be exact! There are a lot of people who love First Watch. Expect a little wait, especially on the weekends. Love that the website gives you an estimate wait time for the different locations. We ended up waiting about 50 minutes for a table. I've only been to first watch once and even then had a bad experience with service. But wanted to try it out a second time and again was met with bad service. For one it took 10 minutes for our server to come to our table and ask for drinks. My server Jordan told me they do samples so I asked for two samples I got one and was still waiting for my second one . The entire time she didn't once stop at our table and ask if we needed anything or checked up. I had to flag down another server who was walking by to get my second sample. I finally was able to order my drink and once the food got there I noticed I didn't have a straw and wanted to ask for a lemon. Was waiting more and more as our server came and went to the kitchen and tended to other tables BUT ours! By this time I just wanted to eat and leave my food was getting cold but I couldn't drink without my straw (I got the tangerine dream that has cold foam on top) we then had to flag another server down who gave me a straw and a lemon all while our server Jordan was no where to be found. My husband also got a cold brew and he noticed she didn't even ask him if he wanted cream or sugar she just gave him plain cold brew coffee so we had to ask for that as well and of course wasn't from Jordan but another server. Towards the end of this horrible brunch experience, our server Jordan comes & drops off the check, doesn't ask if we needed boxes if we need anything else if we want dessert if we're OK she just drops off the receipt half heartly says no rush. Got in line ahead with the mobile app. Table for six was ordered with a 45 min to 1 hour wait. Got to the restaurant, it was packed, granted it is a holiday weekend. Waited for over an hour then asked host when our table may be ready. Told that ours was the very next in line for a table of six. A table was leaving right beside the host. I asked if this would be our table. He said yes, that it would just take a minute to get it ready. Brought my party in, table was given to someone else who told me that another employee had given the table to someone else. How does this happen? Isn't that the point of a wait list? Then we were told we would get the very next table. A party left a few minutes later, it took a solid 13 min before it was cleaned. Turns out it was the "sticky table"... apparently the sun hit the varnish making the sticky. They assure you it is clean even though it feels like it is coated in old syrup. Have been to other locations with good experiences.. My guess is that the Westgate one just survives b/c of the busy location and so perhaps they have little care that they provide such abhorrent service and sticky tables. read more
