Fish taco

We walked in on a Wednesday afternoon and it wasn't too busy from what we could see, but it picked up fast. By the time we left the restaurant was packed. There aren't many tables inside but the restaurant is in two parts. They have what you see when you walk in which is like the classic diner vibe and then an additional bar area in the back. The food was fine. The kids burger was the saddest thing I'd ever seen the salad with an addition of chicken was also the saddest amount of chicken I'd ever seen. The fish taco special was really good with their homemade chips and the Fairview burger was fine. The best food they had was the fried pickles. Perfect sized pickle chips with a delicious batter! So good!! Overall it's a good eat for the money.

HOW WAS TODAY MY FIRST TIME TRYING THIS GEM OF A PLACE?!?! The atmosphere is exactly what the name suggests - a local joint where you get to enjoy DELICIOUS food and drinks. The service was top notch, very friendly staff right from the start. Ridiculously good prices for the portions served. Insanely, and I mean really, good tasting food. I'm running out of adjectives here, but you get the point. A MUST VISIT. LIKE RIGHT NOW. 1000/10.

Outdoor dining is available when the weather is nice. The restaurant serves local coffee and many local food items. We went on a Sunday morning. The restaurant was busy, but we had fantastic service. This is one of my favorite breakfast spots!

Dug the modern diner vibe and the emphasis on using local products. Service was ok I guess; the server seemed new, so I'll cut her some slack. Received a free beignet, croissant-like in texture and quite delish. Loved the Huevos Rancheros. The coffee from Dynamite Roasting Company and the Firewalker Chipotle hot sauce were fab, which was no surprise given the talent and careful craft emblematic of both these area artisans.

We met up with a friend who told us about this place so we went here to eat. Have to say it's a hole in the wall place that you have no clue what they offer. They have a decent sized menu to pick from too. The restaurant is attached to a gas station, set up kinda like a diner inside. To start we had fried green tomatoes. These were really good. Our friend told us everything is locally sourced as much as they can. They used to serve drinks but because they have the store next door they no longer do. I decided on a hamburger with onion straws. I couldn't eat it all. It was a good size burger along with the onions. We ate outside since our friend had his dogs with him so they could be with us. The waitress will come out and wait on you which was nice. The restrooms were shared with the gastation in between the 2 businesses. Over all we really enjoyed eating here and would go back, it's worth stopping here to eat! Great food!

AMAZING local gem. Hits all the criteria: friendly service; delicious food; fair prices; clean. Went twice in three days. Check out the pancakes -- huge, fluffy, tasty. And the local jam!!!

Would you believe me if I told you that this cute & quaint diner is located next to a gas station?? Stop in for some piping hot coffee and a delicious breakfast entree ranging from fresh items like fluffy pancakes, loaded omelettes, sandwiches, and B&G's! You can also order some lunch items such as a juicy burgers, packed salads, loaded sandwiches, thick wings, tasty quesadillas, and more! This is a fantastic spot to stop at while commuting from Asheville to the mountains & trails. You can sit outside on the patio or inside the diner. Highly recommend checking this spot out!

I know it's attached to a gas station, I know. But it's so good!! Wings and fried brussel sprouts were the best things by far!

The one who suggested this restaurant told the other right upfront that it's the best for this area of North Carolina and it is not Cuban food of Miami. The restaurant was busy, and of course tables are limited because of its size, but the owners were very accommodating and we appreciate that very much There is a back parking lot with three spaces, but they are for pick up only but we were given permission to use one as we had a handicap individual with us. My Cuban sandwich was just fine and tasted just like the one I had in Miami in my opinion as a gringo and everyone finished their meal without sending anything back so I would say the food was pretty good The restaurant is a order at the counter and staff will deliver it to your table. There is one unisex bathroom for All and I'm not sure about everyone else but of course our service dog was allowed. I did see two other dogs so I can only assume that pets are allowed as those two were not marked as service animals at all. I cannot think of anything that would cause me not to give this Restaurant a full five star rating

I very much love the filling on the inside which was a chocolate frosting and loved the chocolate layer on the outside of the cake. The cake part itself was definitely a bit dry. It was flakey when I put my spoon into it. Still good but the filling helped a lot. It did come with some kind of fruit sauce on the side (maybe strawberry?) but I didn't wanna make it a fruity chocolate cake so I dipped a few bites. I also saw they had Bavarian cream churros and since I've never had churros before, I wanted to try those as well. I'm not sure how churros are supposed to be but I was thinking they would be a little soft since they had filling but they weren't. They were on the crunchy side and I that kinda made it hard to taste the cream in the middle. They were good but like I said, not sure if that's how they're supposed to be. They came with a chocolate sauce and it was delicious but that definitely masked the flavor of the churro. Both were $7 each so not too bad. I think I'd get both again if I'm here in the future. Side note, no, I don't finish either dessert. I took them home. Lmao!

The hostess found our reservation right away and seated us inside--originally I asked for patio seating, but Mother Nature said "absolutely not," so indoors it was. Our waitress was fantastic. I'm about 87% sure her name was Sylvia (according to my girlfriend), but what I do know is that she was a fun, blondish woman from New Orleans with a personality that made the experience even better. We kept it light--just drinks and appetizers to share. I ordered a Coquito, my girlfriend ordered something sweet (the name escapes me, but the smile didn't). Food-wise, we shared the chicken empanadas, yuca fritas, and crispy Caribbean wings. Every bite was a win. We had to make a dramatic exit because we were heading to a walking ghost tour (priorities), so we grabbed dessert to go: pastelitos de guayaba. Even eaten on the move, they were absolutely delicious. Great food, great service, great vibes--10/10 would celebrate another month-versary here.
