The other day, a friend of mine and myself decided to have a supper at this restaurant that I heard so much about on Asheville Foodies. We were greeted with friendly smiles when we entered the restaurant and after our conversation with a very friendly waitress, her name, Laurie, we decided on ordering some onion rings as an appetizer. For my main meal, I decided to get the fillet tips dinner with okra, and baked potato. My friend settled on their cheeseburger platter. When the onion rings came out, we started devouring them as they were simply delicious, one of the best tasting onion rings that I have eaten in a long time. The batter was light the seasoning was just perfect. Our dishes came out and my fillet tips, with grilled onions and finally chopped green peppers grilled, were delicious. The okra was crunchy tasty and delightful as well as my baked potato. My friend said her cheeseburger was excellent and we were very happy with our meal. We indulged also in their delicious homemade coconut cake, wow, what a treat that was! We certainly enjoyed ourselves and In The conversations we had with our waitress, Laurie, she just made everything perfect for our visit here! I will be returning again soon! After all these years of enjoying breakfast and lunch at our local Corner Grille, I'm not sure why it's taken this long to write a Yelp review. They serve is the best Steak Sandwich, Sausage & Cheese Omelette, Carrot Cake, and just about everything else on the menu is delicious. Where can you find a Filet Mignon for $14.95? Sirloin or Ribeye Steak for $13.95? All dinner plates are served with baked potato or french fries, tossed salad and roll. If you love onion rings, then you will especially love their Onion Petals. I am actually creating this review so I can improve the menu photos. Ask for a To-Go menu, they are available. This place is always packed with locals, when my husband was building our home a mile away, many contractors referred to the Corner Grille as their satellite office. The service is excellent, and no matter how slammed they are, you'll always get a smile with your quick meal. read more

We go quite often and this is a good relaxing working man's diner. The food is good but not great and the biscuits each time we go really need help. All of the servers are friendly and do a good job. My suggestion is don't do breakfast. read more

My cousin recommended this diner and it did not disappoint. I got 1 egg, 2 sausages, home fries, and biscuits/gravy with a coffee for a very reasonable $7.29. I like how they had newspapers set out at a table for anyone to read and it had a cool, "old timey" vibe. read more

Great local restaurant!! We went for dinner and breakfast this week. The choices for both meals were comprehensive. The portions were generous and the prices were unbelievably inexpensive. For breakfast, my husband had eggs, sausage, and a huge pancake. I had eggs, bacon, potatoes and a biscuit. Everything was delicious! We will be back again! read more

Not the best food experience. The service was great which is why they got 3 stars. I think breakfast may be their forte. We had dinner there for the first time and it was so salty and processed tasting. Not exactly good or bad, just tasted like a microwave dinner. The beef tips were very salty and unsatisfying. If you like old fashioned classic diner food, you will LOVE this place. It's a favorite among the hard working blue collar as well as some are old timers! The breakfast is classic and plentiful. I did an immediate double-take when I looked at the prices of the sandwiches on the menu. How could a sandwich for under $5 at a non-fast food restaurant be any good? We were in for a HUGE pleasant surprise! I had a tuna melt (on swirled rye with cheddar) and the hubs had a chicken melt (grilled chicken with sautéed onions and white american) and we couldn't believe how delicious it was! Not to mention how warm and friendly all of the restaurant staff was! Our final bill? $12.04 for two sandwiches and a soda (I had ice water). If you find yourself in Arden, NC make sure to stop at the Corner Grill. Pay no mind to the fact that it's attached to a gas station -- you're sure to have a wonderful meal! read more

A tri-purposed building - laundromat, gas station, and restaurant does not inspire culinary hope. But cars in parking lot DO. So after multiple drive by's to places with mediocre food, we decided to give it a try. Smart move and a nice surprise. Definitely not fancy. Definitely not well decorated. But very friendly service with very good food. Just food. Not fine dining, not fast food, not really a meat and three - just good food served by pleasant waitresses. Just go. Just try it. And hey, if you need to do laundry, go to the left side of the building, toss it in, and it will be ready for the dryer when your done. Get gas, pay for it, and they'll be dry. Very good food! I was a little scared by the look of a diner beside a gas station but it was very good!!! Prices are also good.

No mask establishment. Saw the cooks talking and laughing over my uncovered food. One of my coworkers insisted that we eat there. It's in a gas station, people. A conveniently located gas station if you happen to be driving down Brevard Rd and are looking for gasoline and/or delicious diner food. I went to this place for lunch. I saw the reviews and was curious. It's pretty rundown, on the side of a gas station. The place is in bad need of some upkeep. When I turned the corner, I saw that the lot was full and the place was jam packed. With the virus and all, I wd never have set foot in there much less order anything for take out. A lot of reviews talk about this place being on the side of a gas station..who cares! This is one of the best places to get good old comfort food and then some. My family adores this place. We've never once in 15 years of eating here had a bad experience. Whether you call it in or go inside and dine you will walk out happy. Best customer service around too. They are a good typical dinner style restaurant. The prices are cheap, the portions are plentiful, and no one will look at you funny if you are dirty from your job in the trades out for a bite to eat. If I could have one complaint it is that it is in a mini strip mall with a laundromat and a gas station so the parking lot can get a little crowded especially during peak dinning hours, and it's at a four way intersection so getting in and out can be a struggle at times. read more

Every now and then in this great nation that we live in, you find something great. I've lived right down the road from this place, gassed up my motorcycle every time I would ride, and never thought to stop and eat in this little diner, until this week. The food is delicious, the service is excellent, and the prices were very low! It's a definite value in an overinflated "$7 latte" kind of world we live in today. Where else are you gonna get a 10oz New York strip, a side, Texas toast, and and a salad or appetizer for less than 8 bucks?.... No where, that's where. We eat the jumbo shrimp dinner which comes with fries and a salad. It is consistently good diner food.

It's where the local working people eat. Good food, good price and friendly people. Eat lunch there a few times a week and much better then some of those chain places. read more
