Fillet tips, okra, and baked potato

The other day, a friend of mine and myself decided to have a supper at this restaurant that I heard so much about on Asheville Foodies. We were greeted with friendly smiles when we entered the restaurant and after our conversation with a very friendly waitress, her name, Laurie, we decided on ordering some onion rings as an appetizer. For my main meal, I decided to get the fillet tips dinner with okra, and baked potato. My friend settled on their cheeseburger platter. When the onion rings came out, we started devouring them as they were simply delicious, one of the best tasting onion rings that I have eaten in a long time. The batter was light the seasoning was just perfect. Our dishes came out and my fillet tips, with grilled onions and finally chopped green peppers grilled, were delicious. The okra was crunchy tasty and delightful as well as my baked potato. My friend said her cheeseburger was excellent and we were very happy with our meal. We indulged also in their delicious homemade coconut cake, wow, what a treat that was! We certainly enjoyed ourselves and In The conversations we had with our waitress, Laurie, she just made everything perfect for our visit here! I will be returning again soon! A great hidden Diner indeed!

My cousin recommended this diner and it did not disappoint. I got 1 egg, 2 sausages, home fries, and biscuits/gravy with a coffee for a very reasonable $7.29. I like how they had newspapers set out at a table for anyone to read and it had a cool, "old timey" vibe.

Great local restaurant!! We went for dinner and breakfast this week. The choices for both meals were comprehensive. The portions were generous and the prices were unbelievably inexpensive. For breakfast, my husband had eggs, sausage, and a huge pancake. I had eggs, bacon, potatoes and a biscuit. Everything was delicious! We will be back again!

Very good food! I was a little scared by the look of a diner beside a gas station but it was very good!!! Prices are also good.

We came on a Tuesday afternoon after hitting a couple breweries in the Mills River area . The area that the taproom in is really beautiful with mature trees and it's a huge facility . We parked and walked inside and headed to the bar. I got a flight and my boyfriend got an IPA. I thought the beers were really good and I liked that there was some that you couldn't find anywhere else . We also ordered some duck fries that were so dang good . As we waited for our food , we went to do a self tour of the brewery and that was great to see the history of Sierra Nevada and the different rooms that the processing occurred in. After our food we cashed out and took the remainder of our beers to their outdoor area . Once you pass by their amphitheater you went down this trail towards a little river and we went farther still and there was this whole field of yard games and tables that you could sit and enjoy right next to the rushing river (French Broad River) . All the staff that we encountered with was very nice and knowledgeable. Just a really fun atmosphere to be in where even the staff looked like they were enjoying themselves . I would highly highly recommend stopping in!

The waitress explained that menu is designed to be shared but the items were things like salad and a burger. I'm not sure into sharing a burger. So it was just weird to be explained the menu is a 'shareable' approach but the items were challenging to share. The vibe of the place felt like they were trying to be the fanciest brewery around and bring California to Western North Carolina. It was just really uppity. Personally, we like our breweries more local feelings. With so many other options in the area, we won't be back.

We attended the Biltmore Park location! To start the night we grabbed a seat at the bar prior to our table being ready. Beautiful updates as I had previously been to the Italian restaurant it was before. I really like what they have done to the place. We started with a round of drinks at the bar, both mock tails and N/A beer. The mock tails were excellent! Bright and refreshing! Our dining experience started with Eric as our server. He had some great recommendations from the menu and explained everything to a T! We landed on the cheddar biscuits to start. The highlight on that plate was the whipped hot honey butter... it was fantastic. It had a pimento cheese taste. It took the biscuits up to another level. Truly you wouldn't know the biscuits didn't have gluten! Great texture and flavor alone. Rich with the butter and cheese flavor popping through! I think I could have eaten like 15 On to the 2 entrees, ricotta gnocchi for my lovely wife and grilled salmon for myself! Gnocchi was light and fluffy and had a perfect cheese mornay paired with it! My wife tasted, which resulted in a wonderful eye roll to show the beauty in the bite! The lobster just took it up a notch! I got a nibble and a nibble was all I was allowed, but it was a great bite! The Salmon was perfectly cooked and had some smokiness from the grill. It was on top of a bed of light quinoa, that was tossed with some cucumber and red onions! It was good on its own but I personally throughly enjoyed the nice taziki's sauce. It was light and creamy and had that nice yogurt flavor to enhance the dish. It was a nice, light well rounded dish! For dessert.... Oooh the chocolate tart! It was beautifully plated and beautifully executed! The dark chocolate stood out! It was nice and sweet but not overly sweet and had that dark chocolate bitterness. The salted caramel on top cut the bitterness from the chocolate! In all honesty the experience, the atmosphere, drinks, and food were top notch! I would recommend to everyone and anyone! I'd love to hear/see some not have any idea it's gluten free and see if they would notice! 10/10 will be back anytime we are in town!

Outstanding meal…read more Admittedly, this was a drive for us from up at Autocamp as we visited the area, but this location had reservation availability and the original location did not. I'm hard-pressed to think that the original would outplay its progeny at least on that evening. We're quite keen to recreate the Kale Salad at home, as this has to rank as my second favorite of all time (Sis-in-law still reigns). Paired with the roasted beet salad (beet tempura, roasted beet, champagne vinegar, Three Graces bondon, candied cashew), it was quite a starting match. All of this was coupled with a delish NA sparkling rose (1 of 2 options), which was a nice touch as too many places are in gap mode when it comes to NA sparkling or wines. The fish special is pan-seared (it was grouper that evening) and it completely won the night. Paired with a good helping of asparagus with fennel puree and a radish salad, it hit the spot. Our other choice was the Ricotta Gnocchi com lobster. Twas rich, that's for sure, and it would have been work to eat all of it, but all the flavors worked well together. Dessert was a true treat: Pistachio Cake coupled with light as air mascarpone over a splendid compote of strawberries. We smartly only ordered one for the two of us, as we'd have massacred a second one before the authorities would have been able to stop us. The service team is plentiful: we counted six different people came and served or supported us. Not sure if that's Asheville-style full employment or we just seemed like people who needed a lot of help, but we got to the point we needed to track names on a pad of paper.

He placed the plates in front of us randomly and when we asked what the plates were, he didn't answer. Not sure if he didn't know what they were or didn't hear us, but it happened multiple times and he would just randomly put the plates down in front of us without announcing what it was or ask who ordered what. We had to do musical chairs with the plates which felt really odd to be blatantly ignored. The Broken Yolk Sandwich was not what I was expecting. The egg was not runny despite the asterisk warning for consuming raw foods and its name. The sandwich felt heavy, especially with the mayo making it feel greasy. The avocado toast on the other hand was delightful. The two poached eggs on top had the perfect yolk that literally dripped down your hand and bread. The restaurant was very pet friendly. There were patrons with pets in the dining area. It felt like a nice family friendly place.

The food isn't terrible, but it's the kind of BBQ that tastes like it was made by someone who's seen real BBQ before but never actually met it. The bigger issue, though, is the service. I was charged for a drink, didn't receive it with my food, and when I pointed it out, I was told I wasn't charged -- despite the receipt clearly showing otherwise. Instead of fixing it, the employee doubled down, insisted the receipt was wrong, and acted like I was the problem for noticing. No apology, no correction, no drink. Just a shrug and a vibe that said she'd rather be anywhere else. It's the kind of experience that makes you wonder how this place has the ratings it does.
