Wow!! We stopped in because I couldn't believe there were barely any bad reviews of this place - and I needed to see what this was about. This place is five stars and more. First, our wait wasn't that long on a Saturday morning at 10. It took about twenty minutes and we got it to go. The chicken biscuit my husband ordered was delicious. The chicken perfectly moist and the breading was so crispy. My egg sandwich was good, although I do wish the egg wasn't scrambled. The potatoes and aioli were out of this world! Also recommend the strawberry jam as it was so fresh and flavorful with big chunks of strawberry. Self seating inside, decent atmosphere. Well worth the stop in! Parking wasn't bad either.

First off, this place is located in a food hall that was originally built for that purpose in 1929, so cool! The menu is limited, but incredible. We both ordered the bacon egg and cheese biscuits along w coffees. Prices were reasonable and the biscuit was one of the best I've ever had! It was moist, had some sort of garlic butter on it, I was practically licking my plate. We sat outside and was stopped by multiple pedestrians, asking where we got the biscuit...one lady even asked to take a picture of my sandwich LOL! 10/10 - definitely coming back.

ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE BISCUITS To be honest, I've never heard of a place that was known for its biscuits... but wow. This spot completely changed my mind. The biscuit we ordered -- loaded with eggs and bacon -- was melt-in-your-mouth amazing. Everything tasted homemade, fresh, and honestly big enough for the two of us to share. The latte was just as impressive. Smooth, flavorful, and the perfect match for that biscuit. If you're anywhere near this place, do yourself a favor and go. I can't wait to come back and try more. Highly, highly recommend!

We missed the dinner special by 80-100 years.

Convenient, delicious, not too expensive- a perfect combination! We made this our breakfast stop twice during our four day visit it was so good. This location is in the 1920s art deco S&W building. I love how the original large cafeteria space now hosts five small food vendors. Flour is the only one open in the morning, so all the seating is available for their patrons. The biscuits are large enough to split but delicious enough to not share! They also served a lovely latte and a delicious black drip. Bonus points for recognizing us as return customers on our second stop!

This might be one of the best biscuits I've had in my life. I would drive back to Asheville for it. The blueberry jam was full of blueberry's and very fresh. Good butter but the biscuit was amazing and I'm still thinking about it a couple days later. Service was friendly. It's in a food hall so plenty of places to sit right in the heart of downtown. They are about to move to Wall Street (500 feet away) so it is only going to get better. The matcha latte was really good and creamy.

We wanted to grab breakfast from a local spot and initially planned to sit down somewhere, but Flour Café caught our eye for its quick service and great prices, and I'm so glad we stopped. The staff was friendly and efficient, and everything came out fresh. The biscuits were soft, warm, and had that perfect homemade flavor that's hard to find. My mocha latte was rich and smooth, with just the right balance of espresso and chocolate, one of the best I've had in a while. The café is tucked inside a charming 1920s-style building that feels like a casual indoor food court with other local vendors nearby. There's some informal seating inside and a few tables outside as well, which makes it a great spot whether you're grabbing a quick bite or hanging out for a bit. It's cozy, affordable, and full of local charm, the kind of place that makes you feel like you've stumbled on a hidden gem. We left full, happy, and already talking about coming back the next time we're in Asheville.

Flour has the BEST biscuits from ANY place in the entire United States! The biscuits, the delicious coffee, the friendly staff, the historic S&W Building, views out the window, and ambiance of this hidden gem is definitely a treat for Asheville and North Carolina. If you're in the area... definitely treat yourself to the best biscuits, breakfast, and coffee you'll ever have. Their homemade mocha they use for their mocha latte is out of this world; and their broccolini egg and biscuit is heaven on earth!

Wow- Flour has the best biscuits I have found in AVL! Located in a quaint little food hall downtown, it is the perfect place for a speedy breakfast. I placed my carry out over the phone, then my coffee order when I arrived. This made my quick visit here at Flour seamless. The breakfast sandwich was made to perfection, all the ingredients tasted so fresh. The combination of the crunchy (but soft on the inside) biscuit, fresh bacon, and delicious egg made it one of the best in my history of breakfast sandwiches! Served up with a warm smile from the friendly baristas. We washed it down with a chai latte & a vanilla latte. Perfection! I may have to dine here again before leaving Asheville. This happens when I find a place that truly leaves an imprint on my foodie soul. :) Please try Flour! Simple menu, full flavor!

Everything is perfect!! The greeting with a happy face, the made with love biscuit, brown sugar latte! I tried the broccolini and egg biscuit, because the Yelp reviews were so good!! Seriously, I have never had broccolini on a biscuit! It did not disappoint!! While I was about to pay, I spotted a pistachio chocolate chip cookie!! My 2 favorites in 1! Absolute, heaven to your taste buds! Seriously, this place is so cute! Outdoor seating on a cool crisp day with a hot beverage and biscuit (absolutely the best biscuit that I have ever had!!! Buttery, crispy on the outside, and just soft and amazing on the inside!! 10 out of 5 stars!!! Thank you for a wonderful start to my day!!

Located inside a fun little dining hall, and immediately to the left, is Flour; where service was fast and friendly. The Cinnamon & Brown Sugar Latte was delicious and the bacon, egg and cheese biscuit was excellent! So happy all the reviews mentioned it! Plenty of places to sit downstairs where all of the food counters are, but it looks like plenty of seating upstairs too. Loved, loved, loved enjoying my breakfast while people watching and listening to the 80's pop the hall had playing over the speakers!

Bacon Egg and Cheese Biscuit with Home fries

We stayed overnight in Asheville on the way home from KY and decided to give Flour a try and my bestie and I were not disappointed to say the least! The menu isn't huge but when you've got biscuit making down to an art you don't need a big menu! The staff were friendly, helpful, and our food came out super fast. I ordered the bacon egg and cheese biscuit with home fries and an iced caramel mocha latte. I swear that biscuit was the size of my head! The biscuit was crispy on the outside and flaky on the inside, the perfect southern biscuit bringing back fond memories of rustic homemade biscuits I enjoyed as a child. No cookie cutter round biscuits here! The eggs were fluffy, the cheese was melted perfectly, and the bacon was cooked perfectly with no chew! The home fries were crunchy on the outside and fluffy in the inside and perfection dipped in that garlic aioli. They don't offer hot lattes unfortunately but my iced latte was smooth but not cloyingly sweet. I can't wait to drive through Asheville again just so I can snag another meal!! Oh and the restaurant had a great outdoor area perfect for pets, they even have their own water bowls incase your pup gets thirsty!

    Isabel M.

I wish I could have gone back a second time! The biscuit was so delicious I was thinking about it the rest of our trip in Asheville. The iced latte was delicious but the star was definitely the biscuit. Even the bacon was so perfectly crispy. The staff was so friendly and patient while we ordered. Flour is located inside a cafeteria in downtown which is super conveniently located. It can get crowded and difficult to find seating but there's outdoor seating as well. If I'm ever back in Asheville, this is definitely a spot I'll revisit!

Current space is quite limited. Moving very soon to a new location!
    Robert C.

I say this with no exaggeration, this was THE best biscuit I've ever eaten. So good that I returned the very next morning for a second helping. So good, and so large, that when I was unable to finish off my breakfast sandwich I set the remaining fillings aside and devoured the biscuit. I find most biscuits tend to be somewhat dense and dry. Not these! Slightly salted and crunchy on the outside (even on the bottom) and soft, fluffy yet with that still bread-ish chew in the middle. All in all, golden pillows of flavor. Flour is located in the S & W Market (for now!) and due to limited space serves only coffee and a menu of five items. But that's OK because three of these items are highlighted by....did I mention that the biscuits are really, really good! Just order one of the two breakfast sandwiches (by the way, the thick, smoke-flavored bacon was delicious) or the biscuit with strawberry jam and butter. And even better news, by the time most of you read this review Flour will have moved a couple blocks away to a new location on Wall Street. Larger menu, more seating, but I'm sure the same wonderful biscuits. So, so highly recommended!

For speciality slices they top a slice of cheese with the toppings then bake it so the toppings aren't baked down into the cheese. Still good. The Roman squares are made of a thick dough that looks like focaccia but is both lighter and crispier. They come in single 5" by 7" rectangles (spuntino, $8-$10), 5" by 13" pies (mezzo, $15-$19), or 9" x 13" party size portions (tutto, $30-$38). While you can build your own custom pizza, the default options include a Calabrian with pepper jam, a funghi & charred tomato, a sfincione with breadcrumb topping, a patate with potato cream, and a rotating special. A few dips, an arugula salad, cauliflower cacio pepe, and meatballs are also available. Wanting a few slices to commemorate Pi Day, my wife and I shared a Calabrian, a funghi & charred tomato, and a daily special. Ordering was easy, and Terra Nova's "green industrial" vibe (check out that moss wall) made for interesting ambiance. Our pizza was not cheap, but it was very satisfying, and Mission uses high-quality ingredients. The Calabrian offered a good combination of sweet and spicy while the funghi & charred tomato delivered creamy (ricotta) and smoky. The crust was done perfectly: crisp without being overly charred. There are many places in Asheville where you can grab a pizza and a beer, but none can offer you the same experience that Mission does. So we walked into Luminosa underdressed, absolutely soaking wet, and looking like we had just been rescued from a shipwreck. This is a really nice restaurant, so at this point I was pretty convinced either we weren't getting seated or my friends were going to spend the rest of their marriage talking about the dinner I ruined. I explained the situation to the staff and they could not have handled it better. No judgment, no making us feel out of place, nothing but an insane level of hospitality from the second we walked in. They even sent out a few dishes on the house. Our server Riley was phenomenal. Riley knew the menu inside and out, gave us all the information we needed without overexplaining everything, and never steered us wrong once. We basically put our dinner in Riley's hands, and that was probably the biggest reason the meal turned out as well as it did. And the food was fucking incredible. Not "we're drunk on a wedding weekend and everything tastes good" incredible. Every single one of us said it was one of the best meals we've ever had. And I don't say that because my culinary experience is limited to Applebee's and the Cheesecake Factory. I went to probably half the restaurants on the Michelin Guide while I was in Asheville, live in Atlanta where I've eaten at plenty of Michelin-recognized restaurants, and have been fortunate enough to eat at Michelin restaurants outside the US. Luminosa was still one of the best meals I've had anywhere. I walked in thinking I had completely screwed up dinner and walked out looking like a genius for picking the restaurant. I will be taking full credit for that and giving none to the tornado or Riley.
