We stopped by All Day Darling in Asheville for breakfast and it was love at first bite. We'd heard it was Michelin mentioned, so expectations were already pretty high and it absolutely delivered. I ordered the bacon, egg, and cheese on a biscuit and had what can only be described as a minor out-of-body experience with that biscuit. I'm honestly not sure if it qualifies as a biscuit or just a lightly structured butter delivery system, but either way it was melt-in-your-mouth incredible. Everything tasted fresh, rich, and thoughtfully executed... the kind of breakfast that makes you immediately start planning your next visit. If you're in Asheville and looking for something exceptional to start your day, make sure this place is on your list.

    Patatas Brava +poached eggs +baccon

We originally stopped in Saturday morning for coffee but it was super busy and also Valentine's Day so we decided to go somewhere else for coffee. The food smelled amazing so we made plans to come back Monday morning while everyone was at work or school. I had the Patatas Brava with added poached eggs and bacon. If you like savory breakfasts, this is a no brainer choice! The potatoes were well seasoned, it comes with a creamy aioli and a pop of freshness from the green onions. My eggs were poached to perfection, the bacon was nice and crispy. My husband had the avocado toast and lentil frittatas (which were basically falafel) both he really liked and thankful he had vegetarian options. We both had specialty lattes they had on the daily board. Well enjoyed our breakfast!

I searched for trendy veg-friendly breakfast spot, and All Day Darling delivered. I have never seen shakshuka on a breakfast menu, yet here it was. I could not help but order it. It was delicious. Rich, mildly spicy tomato sauce with feta, two poached eggs, and perfectly air-fried (my guess) kale. It came with a side of pita as is customary. My husband ordered the patatas bravas - a hearty serving of quartered air fried potatoes with a drizzle of mildly spicy sauce; he added two poached eggs. He enjoyed it. He also ordered the banana bread - it was moist and flavorful. I only managed to get one bite. Hubby was boring and went for drip coffee, but I threw caution to the wind and ordered a golden mocha: espresso, chocolate, ginger, turmeric and oat milk. This was an interesting and rich coffee choice. I'd order it again. I'll be honest - this place was pricey, but it was also worth it. We paid $42 and left stuffed. The inside is fun (converted garage?), the folks are friendly, and they allow dogs at 5 dog-friendly outdoor tables. It was too wet for us, so we left Jack Jack tucked in the van and enjoyed our breakfast indoors.

High five chai tea latte, patatas bravas with poached eggs

Another local gem I just kept meaning to get around to and finally *got* to! The patatas bravas is so good, so well seasoned, and so filling! Would need to get it to share next time haha. Would recommend getting the poached eggs with it--adds a lot to the flavor. The chai was amaaaazing. I love me my chais lol. The lady taking orders behind the counter was sweet, she had recommendations and was easy to laugh with. Seating was a bit cramped inside but there are options outside which was nice when moving about with a stroller. Parking is street, but there was plenty of it to be had just a ways down. Happy i got to go!

Stopped in since it was close to where I was staying. It's also not too far from downtown. You seat yourself and it can be a bit tricky to find a table though they also have outside tables (it was cold and had rained so all the furniture was wet outside). The food overall was decent. The breakfast biscuit was good but the chicken sandwich was a little bland. The banana bread was sweet and the miel latte was a delicious hot treat while walking back in the cold weather. I did also get the potatoes at the recommendation of the staff but honestly, it was too salty for me. I was not a fan of the flavor either.

Always quality food with an awesome indoor and outdoor ambiance. Service is always super friendly, location is tucked away in a neighborhood bringing it a more cozy community vibe and less city congestion

The Standard with avocado on a biscuit

In need of a breakfast spot that was actually open on Sundays, All Day Darling proved a fortuitous find. The bustling, light-filled environment and focus on Southern-influenced dishes reminded me of a superior version of the old Iron Hen in Greensboro. Though All Day Darling does keep busy, its line to the register (place your order, grab a number - they are friendly and efficient here) moves quickly, and there is plenty of seating. While I was tempted to order shakshuka, travel with something that heavy on my stomach seamed unwise, so I opted for The Standard (breakfast sandwich with a fried egg and herb mayo) with ham on a roll instead and paired it with a Golden Mocha (chocolate, turmeric, ginger, cardamon). My wife went with a Standard with avocado on a biscuit, and we split a piece of banana bread. All of the food cleared expectations. The breads and biscuits live up to their homemade billing. The creamy herb mayo was the perfect complement to the salty ham. The banana bread was as good as any I have ever made. Despite its bevy of components, the Golden Mocha was well-balanced and went down easy. All Day Darling is the kind of place where it would seem hard to go wrong. The next time we're in Asheville, we'll be back.

We stopped hear for breakfast around 9:30 on a Thursday. It was busy, but there was ample seating and the service was prompt. The food was absolutely delicious, my partner and I shared the Shakshuka and patatas bravas. The potatoes were crispy and the sauce was delicious. The shakshuka was also incredible, with very rich flavors and deliciously cooked kale. We will definitely be returning on next trip to Asheville!

Not pictured but ordered banana bread & chicken biscuit. The banana bread is MUST try. I loved my spicy latte, the cayenne wasn't over spiced but still had the small heat that I loved. Sadly, my kale was burnt, but the sourdough my sandwich was on was amazing. Barista was very kind. I did like the bus your own table too. Definitely a must try

I was visiting Asheville on a few days r&r. An artist from the River Arts District recommended this place so I decided to give it a go. The food was decent & the service was fine, both get 5 & 4 stars but the vibe was one of entitlement. A guy a few tables over (we were outside on the front right padio) was on his elongated & overly loud phonecall all the way up to my meal & beyond & 2 ladies at a nearby table were quite loud . The servers did nothing to quiet them so I just ate in peace & left. It was an okay experience but I won't be back. If you're blue, this place is for you but if you're red, then don't waste your bread! I'm neither, I'm an anarchist that hates political vibe restaurants, sorry! Keep the politics away from a place to dine & relax, I wish the people around me at this particular restaurant understood that (or talk in a lower voice), I hate politics with my meal!

Finally a breakfast establishment in Asheville that opens early for early risers. We over ordered so we could try several breakfast items. This restaurant quickly made it into my top five breakfast spots around here. Fast friendly service very welcoming staff cool place.

The standard was amazing, get the biscuit!! My boyfriend got the Shakshuka and it was incredible. Next time I'd pass on the kale, not very seasoned. amazing food overall!

Tall John's provided us with great moments but also slight disappointment. We felt the appetizers,…read morethe goat cheese dumplings and the bread rolls, were overpriced for what we were given. The main courses, however, were great. The mussels tasted amazing and the lamb was incredibly tender. Other members of our party got the salmon and chicken and spoke highly of them. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable but perhaps suffered from the table layout which was tight and tucked away in the corner, and as a result multiple things were spilled on us and dropped on the table when clearing up. We were also served a warm, flat diet coke, but to the servers credit she took care of it immediately and replaced it with something else. We were surprised to read Lauren B's review below who, by her own admission, spent her anniversary dinner eavesdropping our table. Even if what she claimed we said was true (instead of making up quotes), it is totally inappropriate. Our subjective opinion on a dining experience is ours alone and just because someone else's experience was different, does not make ours untrue. Lauren arrived long after we did, so claiming to know what we had said or to claim to know of our experience is bizarre behavior. Claiming to hear our table say "we should disparage them on yelp" is a flat-out lie and makes no sense if we had said that before the food even came out. Wanting to leave reviews on a restaurant is not abnormal and discussing the value of a menu item does not equate to not being able to afford something or wanting "cheap eats". It is ironic that someone who understands empathy would go online and make personal judgements about someone based on their own subjective experience. So I would take her review with a grain of salt.

Will be coming back time and time again. Just wanted to share about Nina's review down below (3 stars) I was the table next to Nina and her group. We had the same server and she was absolutely incredible, didn't seem scattered at all but like a true professional. Nina's group gave off a pompous, inexperienced air and even said "we should disparage them on yelp" before the food even came out. So I would take this review with a grain of salt. My husband had the chicken dish and he absolutely loved it and understood it did not come with sides but sides are available to order. My husband has very intense dietary restrictions and our server took plenty of time to articulate how the dishes are made and what accommodations can be made. Unfortunately, Nina seems to be looking for cheap eats at elevated dinner experiences. Tall Johns is a Michelin guide recognized restaurant, complaining about prices for a restaurant of this caliber speaks more of the diner than the establishment. If you can't afford the dinner, just say so!

My fiancé took me here for my birthday, and I felt celebrated every step of the way. Our server Laura brought us a complimentary small bite before the meal and after dessert. It felt very fresh due to the farm to table nature of the restaraunt. We started with the cheddar biscuits, which were a hit. My short rib with polenta and roast veggies was delectable and a very generous portion! Finally, we ordered 1 dessert but they brought us a trio. I was wowed by the cheesecake and olive oil cake! I was in communication with Lindsay for over four months while exploring options for hosting my wedding dinner in their private dining space. Out of more than 10 venues and vendors we considered, she was the only one who consistently showed up with prompt, thoughtful, and genuinely kind communication. Every question I had--no matter how detailed or repetitive--was answered with patience and care. She made herself available through all my moments of uncertainty, which, as any out-of-state bride can attest, is invaluable. When we finally visited in person, Lindsay went above and beyond by accommodating us outside of regular scheduling. Her attentiveness and warmth never wavered. Planning a wedding from afar can feel overwhelming, but having someone like her in your corner brings a level of reassurance that cannot be overstated. Dinner itself was nothing short of exceptional. We were served by Tennille, who elevated the entire experience. She was engaging, knowledgeable, and incredibly personable. Every dish was presented with intention, and she took the time to walk us through ingredients , local farm sourced education and preparation in a way that made the meal feel curated and special. You can tell she genuinely cares about the guest experience--it shows in every interaction. After dinner, we visited their second location to explore their private dining options. There, we met Pierre, who matched the same level of service and hospitality. He went out of his way to not only show us the space, but also recommend local after-dinner spots that could enhance the overall experience for our bridal party. That level of thoughtfulness and big-picture thinking is rare. Bottom line: this team understands that they're not just serving food--they're creating experiences. If you're looking for a venue that delivers on service, communication, and unforgettable dining, this is it.
