    Hummus and pita
    Janet C.

The place was about a quarter full on a Saturday when I arrived for a late lunch. The waiter helped me figure out how to get what I wanted as an appetizer - pita and hummus. I also got the wassail - absolutely delicious. The pita was thin and light, and the hummus was very creamy and yummy. I got a bowl with baba ganoush as the base and all the free additions. The bowl was light and delicious too. I almost hate to give this place a great review because I think it's flying under the radar and I selfishly like that I've never had to wait for a table, but this place is a gem. Prices are really reasonable, staff are attentive and the food delicious and attractively presented. No negatives at all. One of my favorite places in Asheville.

This place is absolutely incredible Mediterranean food! It is cooked to order and is incredibly savory. Many options, including vegetarian. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. The new location on Biltmore Avenue is spectacular. The restaurant is very open and accommodating to groups or couples. It's one of my top rated restaurants in Asheville.!!! Andi was so kind and helpful as well

Wow! Amazing food! We have found our Mediterranean restaurant in Asheville, and we will become regular customers. Appetizer called Muhamarra has amazing flavor, spread on crispy Laffah bread, delicious! Kababs are served with basmati rice, hummus, lentils, tomato salad, and fresh pita bread; I especially loved the ground lamb and beef kabab. Even though we were full after our meal, we couldn't resist trying the semolina cake soaked in orange blossom syrup...delicious! So glad we did not skip dessert, served with yogurt and blueberry compote. Our server was excellent, providing suggestions and great service as we explored this amazing restaurant.

Tasty Mediterranean, yes. Will I go back? No, it's doubtful. I'm in a foodie supper club that meets monthly at a different Asheville restaurant. We're usually around 12 people and our lead person takes great care to set it all up. The kitchen couldn't keep up or doesn't know how to time the dishes better. My protein (lamb+beef) was so overcooked it was tough to cut. Beautiful plating though, and rest on the plate had great flavor.

I was walking by and this place looked really nice. The host was super friendly and the bartender was awesome as well. I think my photo sums up how I feel about this place--it's straight fire, especially the steak which was well cooked and tender. I'm here on vacation for five days and I might come back tomorrow for round two :)

This place is as good as it gets! Atmosphere is 10/10 with beautiful colors and fun furniture. The staff were overwhelmingly friendly, inviting and interactive. I got the hot babas wassail with kraken rum and it was also a 10/10. Warm flavors and mulled perfectly. I got a build your own bowl and was so imp by the portions and freshness. I am so grateful this is my first impression of this place and i will certainly be back and spreading the word. Thank you so much!

I'd love to give this place a higher rating than a 4. It's good, and I would encourage people to eat there. But I think the food still needs some work to get to the point where it would merit a 5. The decor in this new location is sort of casual, clean modernist. The seating is comfortable. There is full table service for lunch and dinner, which is becoming less common in Asheville restaurants (not sure whether breakfast might be counter service). The service when we went at lunch was friendly and efficient. I had a pomegranate lemonade to drink and it was very refreshing on a hot summer afternoon [Note: it would be great with a shot of vodka or white rum, but they don't serve liquor, only wine & limited beers]. Even though it is Mediterranean/Persian food, I couldn't pass up the crispy chicken schnitzel sandwich. It was a nice piece of tender, white chicken breast with a light panko-like breading that did make it nice and crispy. I guess because it was a schnitzel, it came with a red cabbage slaw that was pretty good, but not at all German style (very little vinegar, so not much taste), and a mayo-like thoum (garlic) sauce that was basically tasteless. But, the Baba fries that came with the sandwich were accompanied by 2 (out of 3) sauces of your choice. I chose harissa (good) and tahini (forgettable). I put the harissa on the chicken and at that point, the sandwich became much better. So I would definitely recommend this to give the sandwich more flavor and character. The ciabatta bread was really good. The Baba fries were similar to Lebanese fries I've had before. Thin but with some skin left on and seemingly cooked with some onions. They would have been really good if they had been crispy and hot instead of just warm and a little soggy. We also had the Build Your Own Baba Bowl with a base of muhamarra with chopped shirazi, pickled slaw and sumac onions. To that we added chicken shawarma. It was topped with a few cubes of feta. This seemed like a fairly simple combination from among the choices. While everything tasted fine on their own, as a bowl, it didn't work super well. Also, the feta would have been better crumbled instead of the chunks. Overall, this place is good, but I do hope they improve as they get more experience at this bigger, new location. The breakfast menu looked interesting, too. The limited dinner menu (changes weekly) looked less interesting (for this week at least) and the prices, which were fine for their breakfast and lunch offerings, seemed somewhat pricey for their dinner offerings. We'll be back, as we like Mediterranean/Middle-Eastern food (our go-to place has been Gypsy Queen in West Asheville, so good to have another option).

No opening hiccups here. This place is great. The food was excellent and the vibe is friendly and welcoming. We are staying in the hotel across the street so we popped over for breakfast. I had the Baba Breakfast Plate which was well-executed and quite tasty. The potatoes were crispy and the roasted veggies were a great alternative option for a substantial but not heavy breakfast. My wife had the Pressed Yogurt Plate with honey, granola and fresh berries. The yogurt was extra creamy and perfectly tangy. We make our own yogurt so we are very picky. This plate more than passed the test. The service was friendly, attentive, and excellent. We will be back for sure. Highly recommend.

Staff so very sweet and helpful. They had a wall of team member's fur babies around a sign about an April 7th fundraiser for Asheville Humane Society. Decaf latte texturally was great the bean flavor wasn't my vibe. On the day, we were leaving town we wanted to get a box of goodies for our sweet family members who had taken care of one of our pups so that we could get away for the weekend. The team was so marvelous in helping us put together this bountiful box of goodies. Which our family members immediately opened and enjoyed nibbles of all of the different flavors and items. We originally found them when one of our family members was having health challenges and could not have dairy or gluten. They have such a wonderfully inclusive assortment of treats for everyone in the family. Including vegan. Enjoyed people watching sitting on the patio and the dog scene is awesome. Really lovely chill atmosphere with delightful team. They do have restrooms for customers. You're able to tap and pay in addition to cash and traditional credit card purchase. Always a delight to visit.

I ordered the fancy carrot cake and it was exactly what a classic carrot cake should be. The flavor profile was spot on. Not overly sweet, not bland, just perfectly balanced with that warm spiced carrot cake taste. Paired with a cortado, it made the perfect little caffeine and sweet tooth moment. A great stop if you're wandering around Asheville and want a cozy place to sit with coffee and dessert.
