My Bride's burger was served on a substantial fresh bun with no seeds or foo foo brioche with crips veggies. She ate every bite! Hand cut fries were a generously served sufficient for two to share. If your hungry for a quality, reasonably priced burger and find yourself anywhere near Black Mountain get off the interstate and stop by one of their two locations...treat yourself! That's fine in normal cold weather, but at 22 degrees the overhead heaters just don't quite cut it. I think this part of the experience could use a little revision. My wife had pancakes with vanilla syrup and sausage. I ordered the classic breakfast with eggs, grits, sausage, and toast. Everything was very flavorful. My only complaint was that my food was lukewarm. It seemed like my food may have been finished and sat for a few minutes while my wife's pancakes were completed. On a cold morning, I would have preferred a hotter meal, the grits weren't warm enough to melt the butter, and the toast was cold, so I didn't even attempt to butter it. That said, even with the temperature issue, the food was still very tasty, and given how cold it was outside, I'm willing to let it slide. Everything arrived quickly, and the restaurant itself is very quaint, set in an old home that is very clean. On our first visit, they offered chocolate chip cookies to go, and they were excellent! We recently popped in yesterday after securing a reservation via Resy to celebrate our anniversary. We were seated at our table with a thoughtful handwritten card thanking us for celebrating with them! Our waitress was fantastic, and they even provided us with complimentary bubbly half pours to commemorate the milestone. Between the two of us, we split the cheeseboard, Brussels sprouts (which are so unique, and one of our favs!), and the poutine. The cheeseboard really is a nice way to kick off the meal, and highly recommend it--so many goodies to choose from. I love how Resy also allows you to specify where in the restaurant you'd like to sit depending on availability--we went with the high top nook spot, which is really special/cozy for two people. Parking is a breeze--even if their lot is full, the post office lot/tyson lot is just a short walk (and it's still not paid parking anywhere downtown).
