Food and service were excellent. Hot and delicious. Biscuits and gravy with egg is off the charts amazing.

The Med is a small diner in downtown Asheville. Laid back. Pretty traditional menu. Breakfast is served all day. I went for the two egg breakfast with toast, grits and bacon. The two eggs were supposed to be over medium ... they were little closer to over easy than I like. The grits had a really good flavor and were cooked right. I did not care for them be poured over my eggs. There was a lot of staff but not much attention paid to tables once the food was delivered. The price was reasonable.

The Med was a great diner type breakfast spot in Downtown Asheville. I usually order 1 pancake with whatever else I get, and this time was no different. However, I didn't realize the pancakes were as wide as the plates! The grits were great, the thick kind, eggs were scrambled and seasoned, and when I asked for a SIDE of bacon, I got a place of 4 big pieces (as opposed to 2 at most places). Service was great, will definitely go back next time we are in town!

The bodega with mushrooms ‍ instead of ham

The Med hit the spot for me as I visited a local joint while in town. Both me and my coworker order the Bodega. I had mushrooms added to mine and the cook was nice enough to put one on top of the brioche bun which was a perfect combo of soft and crisp. This was the best thing I ate while visiting. The service was fast and courteous. Even though it has street parking only it was worth the visit.

Perfect breakfast spot in Asheville. I went there last while my son was sleeping, just had a spicy bloody Mar a side of sausage, and a side of bacon. Was perfect, so I came back next day and did the same thing.

Breakfast gem! Staff was super sweet and gave a great coffee recommendation around the corner when we had to wait for our table. Food was outstanding! Generous potions and very flavorful. Must visit and worth the wait.

Breakfast tacos and an amazing breakfast bowl with grits, pulled pork, and egg your way!

Craving some Diner goodness before rolling out of Asheville or a morning treat to get you moving? Unassuming diner Americana with scratch made food that tastes even better than it smells & prompt service with a smile will keep you coming back. French toast is thick cut and oh so good. And any of the bowls are big enough to share. Small place - and worth the wait (if you have one). Don't miss the Med!

    Blueberry pancake

A friend and I came here for breakfast last Wednesday and enjoyed the food. I liked the French toast that I had. I definitely recommend ordering the blueberries and maple syrup with it My friend is on a diet that doesn't allow bread so they gave me their biscuit. The biscuit was okay. I wasn't a huge fan of it. My friend switched out the side of potatoes for a side of sausage and got an up charge for it, which was interesting bc their menu had the side of potatoes costing more than sausage. But it wasn't a big deal. My friend loved their royale scramble I liked the diner feel inside. Service was okay. The host and server weren't very friendly, they had an all work and no play kind of attitude. They got the job done though. I guess you could say they really wanted you to have a genuine diner experience. Lol The hustle and bustle in the diner and the lack of enthusiasm service-wise kinda made me feel like I was just a dollar sign there. Which I guess to workers, you usually are (which I understand). It just seemed like they wanted you to get in and get out. Which doesn't really make me wanna come back that much. I rather feel welcomed than feel like my friend and I are wasting prime table real estate. Feeling like a nuisance just kinda ruins the vibe for me ya know? Loved the cat sign outside. My friend and I mostly enjoyed the experience but I'm not motivated to come back due to the service I guess. If it was quiet in there that day and the servers/hosts weren't as motivated to fill our spot back up our visit probably would've gone smoother

Came here for brunch with friends and the food was delicious. The place is small, so I would avoid trying to take a really large party, I know they had seating in the back of the restaurant but I couldn't see it from where I was. It gives an old school vibe a. We all loved our food. The staff was really nice and answered whatever questions we had. I do recommend grabbing a reservation if possible because they were busy when we we t around 11am.

Despite staying downtown, we prefer to patronize less touristy places and this was a great choice! Just a few miles away, this cozy busy restaurant earns its ongoing popularity. Wednesday offers $5 off a glass of wine which was a pleasant surprise. We were fortunate to find a last minute reservation and happily sat at the bar. California pinot noir and sauvignon blanc were very good and we appreciated the different vineyard selection. We decided to split our meal: Bang bang shrimp, different presentation with a spicy aioli smear on the plate which was a nice complement to the fried shrimp Roasted broccolini was tasty and not overcooked . Again, aoli requested on the side. Maybe it is a regional preference for aoli on so many items? House made potato and French fries were both very yummy Brussel sprouts were delicious, nice garlic chili type of glaze. Feta, meh addition for me Trout entree was fresh and we loved the red peas and sautéed greens. Glad we asked for the sauce on the side. Tomato coconut flavor was unappealing. Bartender and service were spot on, highly recommend!

My fiancé took me here for my birthday, and I felt celebrated every step of the way. Our server Laura brought us a complimentary small bite before the meal and after dessert. She also made dessert super special and was kind and attentive the whole meal! The food was all phenomenal, I couldn't believe it was all gluten free. It felt very fresh due to the farm to table nature of the restaraunt. We started with the cheddar biscuits, which were a hit. My short rib with polenta and roast veggies was delectable and a very generous portion! Finally, we ordered 1 dessert but they brought us a trio. I was wowed by the cheesecake and olive oil cake! I was in communication with Lindsay for over four months while exploring options for hosting my wedding dinner in their private dining space. Out of more than 10 venues and vendors we considered, she was the only one who consistently showed up with prompt, thoughtful, and genuinely kind communication. Every question I had--no matter how detailed or repetitive--was answered with patience and care. She made herself available through all my moments of uncertainty, which, as any out-of-state bride can attest, is invaluable. When we finally visited in person, Lindsay went above and beyond by accommodating us outside of regular scheduling. Her attentiveness and warmth never wavered. Planning a wedding from afar can feel overwhelming, but having someone like her in your corner brings a level of reassurance that cannot be overstated. Dinner itself was nothing short of exceptional. We were served by Tennille, who elevated the entire experience. She was engaging, knowledgeable, and incredibly personable. Every dish was presented with intention, and she took the time to walk us through ingredients , local farm sourced education and preparation in a way that made the meal feel curated and special. You can tell she genuinely cares about the guest experience--it shows in every interaction. After dinner, we visited their second location to explore their private dining options. There, we met Pierre, who matched the same level of service and hospitality. He went out of his way to not only show us the space, but also recommend local after-dinner spots that could enhance the overall experience for our bridal party. That level of thoughtfulness and big-picture thinking is rare. Bottom line: this team understands that they're not just serving food--they're creating experiences. If you're looking for a venue that delivers on service, communication, and unforgettable dining, this is it.

It was elevated Southern cuisine, and we enjoyed it enough that we may go back before leaving the area. The restaurant has a comfortable feel -- upscale, but not stuffy. The service was excellent. The servers were personable and attentive without hovering. At one point, I accidentally dropped my napkin, and our server immediately brought me another one. Our water glasses were continually refilled, and our server checked in regularly to make sure we had everything we needed. My partner and I liked so many things on the menu that we knew ordering soup, salad, an appetizer, and entrées would be too much. We told our server we were sharing, and for most of the courses, they divided the portions and brought them out on separate plates. That was another small touch that showed they were paying attention to detail. There wasn't anything we had that we wouldn't order again. We started with the seasonal soup, which was a tomato bisque, followed by the strawberry and feta salad. The country ham board was excellent and actually had me looking for Lusty Monk mustard the next day. For our main entrée, we shared the shrimp and grits, which was also delicious.
