I am SO HAPPY the Fenway area is getting better! Landsdowne definitely adds to my newfound love of the area (the Sox games help too), and it was so fun checking it out! Had a great experience at Lansdowne Pub before the game last night. Stopped in for a beer, and Brad took wonderful care of us! It was the perfect place to grab a drink right across from Fenway. Came here for lunch before a Red asox game. The wait wasn't bad and we ended up being seated in 20 minutes. The host was pleasant and brought us to our table no problem. Then we waited.....and waited....for our server to come. After a solid 20 minutes he showed up and we ordered right away. He gave us this really weird vibe as if he didn't want to be here and didn't know what he was doing. Whatever, we wanted to eat. The food took a long time to come out to the point where we had to ask if the food order was out in. When the food did come out it was a joke. A few fries sprinkled on a plate and a burger missing half the toppings. I should have taken a picture but I was so hungry I scarfed it down. Overall it tasted mediocre at best. For the prices I expected better. I won't be returning and I recommend you don't waste your time. read more

I was here last night for a few pre-BU vs BC Frozen Fenway libations. Nice pub atmosphere with high ceilings, brick walls and lots of bar stools. Huge bar and dining area, which was great because the place was jammed. Even the ladies room was large with plenty of stalls. Large beer list, and decent wine list. Our waitress was amazing, she worked the crowd like a pro and always knew when we needed a refill. All of this done with a smile. We will be back to try their food, my husband is dying to try their Irish breakfast. A nice change from the usual ho-hum bars on Lansdowne. read more

Was my favorite bar/club in Boston, live music was great with a mixture of Rock and Country, also they have very solid beer prices, especially the PBRs. Maybe my favorite bar in Boston so far; definitely a go-to. It always seems like there are more guys than girls there.. especially if you go at the best time- after a Sox game! I'm definitely not into the club scene, or even bars for that matter, but there was something about this place that I really enjoyed. The service was great, the appetizers we got were great (chips aka french fries and potato skins) the music and band were great and the place was packed with a bunch of twenty-somethings having a good time. They stay open until 2:00 a.m. as well, as opposed to other bars that close at 1:00 a.m. It had a much more laidback, hang out and have a good time feel and that is much more my style. read more

I went in to watch the Euros (soccer) b/c they had huge signs up claiming to be "Your home for watching the Euro 2016 with large screen set up" and flags and all kinds of signage for soccer. There was awful club music playing and I asked if they would put the game audio on and they said "no, just the music". WTF. It is an "Irish" style pub, N. Ireland was playing in a major tournament, it was Saturday afternoon, not crowded with no Sox game and they would not put the audio on. RE.TAR.DED. Irritating. Someone turned my phone in. Bartender was such a dick he wouldn't even to listen to me or check. I currently work in the service industry and understand how annoying it is to deal with customers sometimes but even I'd check if someone told me they were missing something that a customer told me was LITERALLY TURNED IN BY SOMEONE WHO WORKED THERE. I went on Friday 9/21/19 the buff bartender who is a man (brunette) refused to serve me and was clearly racist, he ignored me multiple times when I was trying to get a drink at the bar, there was no reason involved, when I asked for a drink he said no. This place is fine. It's big and the cover band was unintentionally hilarious. (I spent 3/4 of the night trying to figure out if the lead singer was dude or chick. I still don't know. He/she haunts my dreams. Anyway, I'd give this place a higher rating, but God help me do they water down your jack and cokes. Holy cow. If they did a taste test with a Jack and Coke and a Coke Zero, I'd throw up my hands and shake my head. I had seven of them on Saturday. Seven! I weigh 155 pounds and under normal circumstances would have been dead. But seven Landsdowne J/cokes had me literate and articulate. I was just there last night for a concert series - PHEW! This place is large (I bet it would be a blast for a Sox game), plenty of seating available (at the bar - at sidebars - at tabletops - in a booth - in one of the seated side-rooms), and room enough for a small production/live music. I was kind of turned off by the smell of the place (..."stale bar smell" - like feet....gross), and all of the plates of foot that came out of the kitchen were of a brown hue and crunchy consistency (not my cuppa'tea). But we had a good enough time... *One of the lady bartenders helped me out on orders one and three - she was great! Though for drink order two, a gentleman attempted to take my order, but when started listing off drinks and shots he stared at me with a look of oblivious confusion until I eventually mentioned a beverage that he knew how to make (...tequila and coke...at least he could do THAT). There's a full bar and prices are actually pretty good for Boston/Fenway (7$ for a tall mixed drink and 5$ for a pint of Guinness). ~No cocktail menu? Really? *Great for groups! This place is HUGE and there are plenty of places where little gatherings of people could group around to share a pint and some laughs. I happened to go for a musical event (the Wandas and the Futureheads were playing as a part of FNX's Disorientation tour) : fan-tas-tic! There was enough space between the bar and the first row of stools for people to come together and enjoy the band (and a nice barrier for people who want to move in and around the bar without being sucked into a mass of idiots *ie: myself* jumping around to the music). Place seems alright - but if I'm in the area and looking to have a few drinks with friends, I'll probably just suggest Game On (the service is faster *though a little more expensive*, the music is better geared to dancing, and no damp-foot smell). read more

I had a fantastic experience here last night. My friend and I stopped in here before the Dead Weather show @ the HOB. Immediately, I loved the decor. Plus, the place is insanely spacious- great for both big and small groups. We saddled up to the bar, and immediately the bartender remembered my friend from a few weeks ago, which is pretty cool. The bartenders/staff were SO FRIENDLY and very attentive. We ordered some "chips" (fries) and they were delicious. I can't wait to come back here for dinner. Highly recommend!! read more

(score 1-100) - 60. I spent a good portion of a day at the Lansdowne Pub due to an event called the Boston Iditarod. The bar had to service over 100 teams of 4 to 6 people and all their friends and regulars. It was crowded but the bar service I found to be fairly quick. We were starving after a long day of running through the city and even with the extra large crowd we were able to get our food within 20 minutes. We ordered the standard burger and fries. The burger was decent, well done but nothing exceptional. The fries were square cut and delicious. We had a group of 10 to 12 people and all drank throughout the day and the prices were moderate on beer and mixed drinks. read more

Every time we've been here the food has been consistently good, the service is iffy, last time we were here our waitress was great but other times not so much - you have to remember though they're dealing with a crowd of rowdy fans/drunks and I imagine that gets old quickly. Back to the food - fried Brussels sprouts. Dear lord order the Brussels sprouts. The portobello "sandwich" is essentially a super buttery, crispy grilled cheese jam packed with thick portobello pieces. Aka it's the most amazing bar grilled cheese I've ever eaten, and it stays well - I can never finish it but usually remember I have the rest of it on the ride home to CT and even an hour or two later it's never soggy, still crispy and amazing. My bf has ordered the Bangers and Mash which he said was good and the chicken pot pie which he described as better than the bangers. Super solid pub food. Just go! read more

The Lansdowne Pub is always a good spot for after/during Sox games or just a general Fenway night out. There usually is some live music that plays top 40 stuff!! The bands are always good. If you are looking for the best Boston has to offer from its bars then this is the bar for you! A good ole Irish bar where they know how to party and have a good time. Let me start from the beginning: make sure you get there early. The crowd is mostly college/post- grad so if you wait until 11pm to show up you could be in line for 45 minutes. The cover is $5 BUT if you sigh up for the VIP card on their website (its completely free!!!) you can skip the line and get in for free. It can get tightly packed inside but everyone is friendly and nice. The drinks are strong so you definitely get your money's worth, no watered down drinks here. And now the music. Hands down the best part of the whole night!! Friday and Saturday nights they host fantastic cover bands who play everything from 80's and 90's classics to today's hits. As a Brit needing somewhere to watch the football (aka soccer) in the World cup match between England and Italy, this place was just the job. Plenty of screens, music off and commentary on during the match, and decent food at half time break. I missed out on the Fish and Chips, which looked nice, but the burger and fries I had was tasty and better than expected for pub food. Eclectic mixed crowd, especially since Red Sox playing at the time. I was so sad when Jake Ivory's closed as I have many fond memories of being drunk at the piano bar. However, we recently all went for a friend's birthday and I forgot all about it! They completely redid the inside and it looks cleaner, more spacious, etc. We had a private room in the back (which was very warm) and we were on a list so we didn't have to pay cover. Nice! We also had our own bartender who was nice and helpful - she even remembered the drinks I ordered! They also let you do car bombs and jager bombs, which was great. A live cover band played great songs and we all danced. Hiphop/pop music was also played during their breaks to keep the momentum going. All of us had a great time and I think we closed the bar down. We came here on a Wednesday afternoon to watch the World Cup match Germany v. Ghana. We were there early and soon joined by random people who wanted to see the German game as well seeing as it had Round of 16 implications for the US match up. The Australia v. Serbia game made the big screen and the crowd wasn't happy but they quickly changed it. The service was top notch here. I had the best waitress in years here. Solid bar that draws a young 20's crowd. Unfortunately this doesn't help the atmosphere. You can do a helluva lot worse though and get ripped off a lot more at other places in Boston. So my review may be a little biased because I went there before they actually opened to the public and didn't have to pay for a thing... Glorious!!! I have to start by saying that it is refreshing to have a bar on Lansdowne that is not identical to every other bar located in the Fenway area, it is also nice that it replaced disgusting Jake Ivory's which was in desperate need of a renovation anyway and believe me it got one! This place is absolutely gorgeous! Everything is wood I feel bad for whoever gets stuck polishing that place but is beautiful nonetheless! Unfortunately due to its location I am afraid it too will become tainted by the drunken shenanigans of Red Sox fans but I hope not. The food is damn good, I was very impressed. We started with the Mussels and the Cheese Dip with homemade chips, both were delicious (the cheese dip is made with blue cheese and is very blue cheesy, if your a fan you will love this!). For an entree I had the Gaelic Steak which was fantastic. I had a taste of the Fish & Chips which according to my friend makes or breaks an Irish Pub (he like it so thumbs up for them) I also thought it was good. I also tried the Pork Chops which were pretty good coming from someone who doesn't really like pork chops. For dessert we ordered the Fried Mars Bar, Fried Twinkie, Apple Crisp and the Baileys Cream Pots... yes we are fat kids :) I was not a big fan of the Fried Mars and Twinkie, it kinda creeped me out a little but everyone else at the table was a fan, I'm just weird I guess. The Baileys Cream Pots was good but had way to much Baileys andThe Apple Crisp was soooo friggen delicious I was quite content with just eating that. I went here for my friend's birthday and the band playing that night was Good Will and Them Apples (I could already tell I liked them). It was great! The band was awesome, they covered some great songs and did it so well. When you open with Poison, you start off a great foot in my book. I even really liked the DJ that played the music before and after the band. The drinks were reasonably priced and the only downfall was that there's a $5 cover charge. Lansdowne is a fantastic bar, but it's not somewhere that I would go for brunch. It's brunch selection is fairly limited, and aside from the Apple Crumble Pancakes, there aren't any "stand-out" items on the menu. As a big fan of pancakes, I ordered the Apple Crumble Pancakes. They were extremely delicious, but I was sad that the dish only came with two pancakes; adding one more pancake would have made it perfect.The Irish Breakfast was alright, but probably not the best option on the menu. They did a really good job on the scrambled eggs, but everything else was rather bland. The place was virtually empty when I went, which was kind of a nice surprise, and not what I was expecting for a Sunday morning. Our server was very friendly, and never let our water glasses empty. It's worth noting that if you have a Lansdowne Card, you get 20% off your brunch, which makes it worth going at least once. read more

There was a big black guy who was a bouncer and was yelling at my friend who wasn't feeling good after drinking . He started name calling her for her drinking and trying to get her to lose control. In the meantime my friend was waiting for her boyfriend to pick her up .i have no respect for men trying to intimidate women at their weakest point. He doesn't know her for him to talk about her drinking issues . My husband and I went to the Landsdown and were excited to find a pub accross from Fenway that had a nice warm even romantic atmosphere. We sat right in front of the big screen and requested to watch the Texas Rangers vs SF World Series Game. The waitress was helpful and asked other patrons if they were up for the change of channel and then switched it over for us. The food was decent- not awesome. I went before a James Taylor concert and they were packed but we were lucky to get a drink at the bar right away and a seat on the outdoor patio within 15 minutes. I was trying to make a healthier choice so I ordered a salmon dinner with mashed potatoes and broccoli. The food was very salty and the broccoli was soggy. It could be that's the way their customers like their food. In all fairness to the restaurant I didn't have time to complain or send it back because of the concert. I will say the service was great especially for such a busy place. Would go back for beers. read more
