I am so bummed that we had a poor experience with TLB tonight and hoping it is a one-off. We ordered a plain hot dog, chicken sliders combo, and kids cheeseburger, all which had extremely burnt and hard buns. It was difficult to eat so we took the meat off and ate it like that. The chicken from the sliders had zero flavor so I didn't eat them. Our order of fries was raw and inedible. My expectations rank fairly high since it is not a cheap meal. 2 stars because my husband's burger (Happy Accident) seemed fine.

The food is usually pretty solid fast food. I recently decided to try their burger bowl though and it said it comes with cheese but there was none which left this bowl incredibly dry and just blah was a waste I couldn't eat it

Had the Tree Hugger burger (veggie burger) and sweet potato fries. The burger gets pretty messy 1/3 way in. It's not really a patty. Very good tho. Flavor is def there. Chipotle sauce has a nice kick. Sweet potato fries are good! I'll definitely try other items.

It's like....fine?? We've been looking forward to trying it, ordered on DoorDash. We live exactly 9 minutes away. Everything: luke warm, at best. Fries....fine...no seasoning not even salt? Sweet potato fries...clearly a real sweet potato but also...bland? Not crispy at all. Onion rings, soggy. So all of these had to go in the air fryer and even then...just kind of flat. Burgers ALL too rare, I'm a medium rare person and this was bloody. Original with bacon. A 5. Max. The remake...little bit of an odd flavor combination, also a 5. Max. Bacon blue, 6. I would give them another try NOT for take out but I'm not sure id spend almost 80.00 for 3 burgers, 3 fries/sides and 3 sodas to have to cook and season again. Everything needed seasoning. The house made ketchup, sort of reminiscent of ketchup as a kid but also, closer to tomato paste. BBQ sauce good Ranch great! Upon further review...the entire problem with the burger is the burger that is a pre shaped brick patty, La Frieda must have seen better days because this is a frozen tasting texturally unpleasant situation. The cheese is also lab created I suppose because it's melted but it's also....a perfect square. The bun and othe toppings are fresh and balanced, just needs a different burger in there. We will try again for dine in

Side of onion rings $5

Hit or miss? This was somewhere in between. We got takeout based on the photos provided on Yelp. You can see ours looked a *little* different. The fries were ok, not very crispy but that's what comes with hand cut. They tossed in a couple of ketchup packets for free. The rings were good, but as you can see, the portion was tiny for $5. We did have to pay extra for chipotle mayo, which was good but you can include ONE sauce if we get $9 worth of sides! The burgers were a good size. The tree hugger had potential, but just didn't compare to the picture. It fell apart as you ate it. The Texas burger was also good, but neither was out of this world. I was pretty excited and had high expectations knowing that they use local produce and meats. It just didn't seem to come together where you say "I need to come back."

The Morning After burger; fried egg, sliced avocado, applewood smoked bacon and mayo on a toasted English muffin

Have now been here twice and can certify that the quality of the food is well above average. The chicken sandwiches are crispy on the outside and moist and tender inside, and the beef burgers are flavorful. The Spicy Chicken is definitely a favorite as the slightly-sweet bun perfectly balances the light heat of the Buffalo sauce. Today I had the Morning After and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The fried egg on top was cooked perfectly, as the runny yolk stayed intact until I took my first bite. I decided to swap Mayo for Chipotle Mayo and thought it the perfect compliment to the other ingredients, including the beef burger, melted cheese, avocado, applewood smoked bacon on the toasted English muffin. The side of fries is a good value but the burgers and sandwiches seem to be just a tad on the pricey side - but not nearly enough to keep us from coming back.

Texas Hold'em

First off, definitely filling. Solid lunch or dinner. I thought Texas Hold'em was solid. It could use a stronger BBQ sauce. I appreciate the burger NOT being slathered in sauce, so it really is a point of a bolder sauce. Burger wasn't greasey. Clean eat. My wife liked the original. She called it an upgraded Big Mac, meaning that classic iconic burger at a higher, premium quality. I loved my parmesan fries. My wife thought there a bit too well done. But I like well, so win for me! Haha. The folks behind the counter were very friendly. Would be nice to see some seating or matching decor to match the cool music vibe that was happening. It's very sparse. But, I'll chalk that up to it being brand new. The Lab is a SOLID solution to a serious burger craving. Room to get bolder on taste & vibe, but a solid bite. I got a lot of hope for this crew.

So we came here because we are always excited to try something new. The food was really good but very pricey. The vibe of the restaurant had potential but unfortunately not completely met. Either the owner or manager sat outside a long hallway while working which took up a lot of space and there seemed to be a huge water delivery because there was a long table with stacks of water on it. They should definitely invest in a cleaning company because the hall to the back door was gross and falling apart and the bathroom was disgusting so bad so I didn't want to touch anything! All in all cute place and concept but I don't think we will be returning.

Awesome bacon blue burger with Smokey bacon and high quality cheese.

Highest quality ingredients cooked by someone who cares about what they are making. This is the burger joint you wish every other place was. Also, the staff was just stellar.

I was headed to the diner and the traffic was bumper to bumper because of a re route due a closed road. I pulled into a nearby parking lot and ended up enjoying one of the best house made veggie burgers I've ever had with a side of fried pickles reminiscent of The Penguin in Charlotte. If you are anywhere along Kinderkamack Rd looking for really good burgers and sides check this place out.

This is by far my favorite burger joint! And the garlic fries are super delicious! The Milkshakes are a must with these burgers!

Ask the Community - The Lab Burger

Is there outdoor dining? Is it pup friendly?

They have some metal chairs and tables outside, but no heat for cold days. I think you should be fine walking in with a pup, there are no signs at the door about pups.

Some of my guests wanted separate checks and he managed to get it all right. He was very attentive! The management was great and kept in touch leading up to my party (I booked almost a month in advance. Everyone seemed to enjoy their food (typical bar food with some flair) and the drinks were strong and some very unique! The atmosphere is fun, casual, a bit loud, but not over the top. I didnt have to scream for someone 3 seats away to hear me. I found they place on a whim googling (bar/restaurants near me) and I definitely plan on going back! The space is pretty lively and would be a great place to watch a sports event. Appreciate that the space has different types of seating areas from traditional dining tables to a big bar area and a lounge area in the middle. It can get loud in there so I wouldn't go there if you're looking for an intimate vibe. The staff is pretty friendly and do a good job of attending to the patrons. The food is where it was a bit disappointing to me. I can appreciate the wide variety of items on the menu, but not when the quality varies so much. We ordered a few pasta dishes (one that was on the daily special), a few taco dishes, an order of wings and the brussel sprouts. All of the pasta dishes were huge disappoints. They looked like pasta dishes from Applebees. The sauces were very runny and the kids pastas were the most basic pastas that were way overpriced for what they were. My daughter who loves pastas only ate about 1/3 of it and told me she didn't like it. The wings were dry and not saucy enough. The tacos were OK. The brussel sprouts were the only standout dish that we ordered. I liked their extensive draft beer menu though. Lots of variety to choose from and the drinks were fresh. Overall, I'd certainly come back here and hope that I pick some better food choices or a big improvement on the food quality, but a fun place to hang out at.

Tried their a chimi style seasonal skillet and lemon blueberry cornbread which were both outstanding. Had to pack the cornbread since we couldn't finish but devoured the skillet. The flavors mesh so well together and not something I would normally make at home, so it was nice to try something different. Great service and well decorated inside.

We were initially told the wait would be 25 minutes -- totally reasonable. But after receiving a text 15 minutes later saying we were next, we returned only to be told the kitchen was backed up and it would be another 15 minutes. Then came multiple conflicting texts, including one saying we were being removed from the waitlist for not responding... while we were literally standing there. We were finally seated about 20 minutes after that. It only got worse. It took 40 minutes for food to arrive, and even then, my daughter was served first while my husband and I waited another 15 minutes for ours. The food itself was incredibly disappointing: "poached" eggs that were basically hard-boiled, burnt toast, burnt sausage, and scrambled eggs that came out as a firm, molded mound instead of anything soft or freshly made. To top it off, the entire restaurant felt chaotic. We heard multiple crashes from the kitchen, servers openly complaining, and even staff encouraging the host not to walk out mid-shift. Meanwhile, takeout and delivery orders were flying out while dine-in customers sat waiting for long stretches. Overall, disorganized, poorly managed, and not worth the time or money. We won't be returning.

Since discovering it two months ago, I've already been back three times. Their happy hour menu, available every day before 6pm is one of the best around. The oysters are half-price, fresh, and plump, and the calamari, fried cauliflower, and brick oven pizza are all absolutely delicious. The mussels, however, have been a bit hit or miss across my visits. And a special shoutout to our server, Carlos, who made the entire experience even better. He was friendly, engaging, and made sure we were well taken care of throughout the meal. He even brought out an oyster to show us the size before we placed our order, such a thoughtful touch that really stood out.

Area was crowded with very loud bargoers. People bumping our chairs, and we honestly could not hear ourselves think. Service was slow. The food was decent. I enjoyed my linguini fruit de mar which had a fresh tomato sauce and lots of different types of seafood. Kids enjoyed the pasta too. My wife had the fig and prosciutto pizza which had that nice sweet fig taste. The apple beignet was delicious but I would not call it a beignet - more like a... pocket? Portions were sizable. New York city prices. $11 for a side of french fries. $36 for my pasta. $75 for a paella for two.
