I'll admit it--this place wasn't even on my radar until my boyfriend suggested it after reading what his friends were saying online. Now I'm wondering how I managed to miss Rony's Rockin' Grill all this time. If you know me, you know I'm crazy about hamburgers, so I was immediately on board. Even better, Rony himself came over to take our order. I mentioned I like my burgers rare, and he suggested going black and blue--perfect call. It came out exactly right. The meat was incredibly fresh, juicy, and full of flavor. I had mine with cheddar, and honestly, it couldn't have been better. The onion rings deserve their own shoutout--battered, super fresh, and fried to a perfect crisp. Not your typical side...these were next-level and unlike anything else around here. I seriously don't know how I've driven by this place a million times and never stopped. Big mistake on my part. Safe to say we'll be back again and again. Can't recommend it enough. read more

Went to Ronys on a whim. Its been a while. Why not take the kids for some good old burgers and shakes? It's fine you are a one man show in your small greasy spoon. You want to be the owner, the line cook, the server, cashier and dishwasher. What's not fine is you want to be argumentative at every turn. Don't touch the fridge, I bring the drinks!. Don't touch the plastic cutlery, I bring the spoons! You want a dish! What kind paper or regular! The best when he brings the check. He is stunned he got a $7 tip. Talk about zero self awareness. I should of given you ooh gatz! He made sure to comment too. I bit my tongue as I had the wife & kids with me. Her wondering what this clown meant. You want 20% but you want to be obstinate and difficult in every single interaction we had during our 20 min fast food meal? And he charges you the 3% credit card fee. I should charge you for the tetanus shot I need to get in urgent care after sitting in that filthy place. Its a pity bc the food is ok when you want a cheat day, but to put up with him, I wouldn't go back if it was free. You should of been happy I threw away $93 on a a few cheeseburgers and fries. Wow. Just wow. I saw people posting on Facebook about this restaurant raving about the burgers so my girlfriend and I took a ride for lunch. Oh my gosh. They were not kidding. We had the most amazing burgers! The burger is amazing quality tasty meat. Cooked perfectly medium rare like I asked. The fries were perfect! Crispy and fresh. The onion rings were hot and crispy battered. The owner was so nice and took care to speak with us personally. We will definitely be back over and over again. read more

Sorry once I got home I forgot to take a picture but.. the food is AMAZING. Good vibes food is cooked in front of you and the environment is amazing filled with musical creativity and good vibes. The walls and ceilings of music artists is amazing. I ordered the bacon cheese burger with the works but you have an option to do combo and the price I will say is very decent. This place is a gem. It's a little out of the way for us, so we seldom eat here. But every time we do, I ask myself, "Why don't I come here more often?" Took my three kids here tonight and we had a blast. My older two are starting to learn a bit about music--and appreciate--music that isn't Kidz Bop, so they had fun checking out the LPs and memorabilia. Bacon on burger was extremely flavorful and the onion rings were on point (beer battered rather than breaded--how all onion rings should be!). And I hadn't been here since before the pandemic (and the ensuing inflation), but the prices remained reasonable. Recommended. It's always nice to find hidden food spots you never knew about in your area, lived around for about 4 years but never noticed the spot and gave it a chance today. Way above average. Great varied types of burgers, but the Kick Start My Heart chicken sandwich stands out. The vibe in the place is welcoming and calm: I feel bad when I don't stay but we usually do take-out. We call ahead and it's always ready on time, but he waits until I arrive to do the cajun fries so they're super fresh. My son moved away and is visiting tonight... first place he wanted was Rony's. I'm here visiting Bergenfield NJ as I'm driving to Dunkin I see Rony's rockin grill how cool is that a hair band restaurant maybe ?? Now I gotta check it out. Speaking to him he seams like he enjoys his business The atmosphere the music was everything and more Then I expected . Now let's talk about that Hendrix burger ( love the names ) it was huge juicy piled high with onions mushrooms and Swiss . It had an amazing flavor I'm hard to please as I'm a moody woman lol. It wasn't dinner time so I walked by only because of the old-timey signage but the Yelp review caused me to hang around, and maybe the plethora of guitars and album covers on the walls. Per the Rony's web site, the burgers contain brisket, chuck steak and porter house tips. I got the Rock On burger, a superbly juicy concoction, accompanied by the good kind of fries, you know, actual potato taste. I called and placed an order Saturday night, a Pink Floyd combo and a plain single patty burger with double cheese, we went to pick up the order and when i returned home i realized there was tons of toppings, so even scraping it off you'd still taste the pickles and tomatoes. I called back to ask whose burger this is and she said that's the cheese burger, which isn't what I asked for. However the waitress that took my order asked me to hold on, then put Rony on the phone, he was very nice saying he could make a new burger if that's what I wanted so I said please. 4 minutes later THE WAITRESS CALLS ME BACK YELLING AT ME ON THE PHONE TELLING ME THAT RONY YELLED AT HER, AND THAT SHE NOW HAS TO PAY FOR MY MEAL. (Putting in cap locks for attention, bc I CAN NOT believe she called me to scream at me) We specifically picked eating at Ronys bc we wanted a burger close to home, but this is the last time I'll be going to Ronys, she made the mistake, but to call back a customer and yell on the phone is absolutely absurd. Dropped by here last night prior to working a college fair (remember I am a college admissions dude) in the nearby area. Was greeted warmly by the jack of all trades here, Rony. Was seated and within moments, I had a nice cold soda and then a bacon cheeseburger combo (combo includes fries and a drink). The burger was cooked perfectly with crisp bacon on top and all the fix-ins. Very tasty. Fresh cut fries to go with was the perfect compliment. Stopped by after hiking the palisades loop-- thank goodness we'd worked up an appetite-- because the PORTIONS here are HUGE! I had a grilled chicken sandwich with sweet potato fries and my husband had the cowboy from hell burger. Both were great. I barely made a dent in mine but he ate the entire thing. Came in for lunch and ordered a Yolk-O, subbed fries in burger for onion rings at no extra charge. The decor is pretty cool, but it could use a bit of work. The space doesn't really go well with the rock memorabilia on the walls. Maybe make it more like a 1950s diner? Anyway, the Yolk-O was solid. Not an amazing burger, but not a bad one either. Rony flattens the patties on the grill, similar to Smashburger and Shake Shack. Fries were fresh cut, reminded me very much of the fries from Five Guys. And I don't think $9.50 for a burger, fries, and drink is bad at all. Rony was a nice guy, but his staff could use a bit more training. She asked Rony many questions, like how to split the bill on 2 credit cards and whether or not we could make substitutions on our order. While I'd normally would ignore a bit of ignorance, her attitude wasn't very pleasant. Rony checked on us more than she did. But the food is pretty good, so I wouldn't mind returning. read more

I had a ton of missed calls within 5 minutes tonight, on my work cell phone. Instead of apologizing, the waitress says "Are you kidding me" and then hangs up rudely. I didn't plan on visiting this place that will probably end up on Bar Rescue, but the woman answering the phone made sure of that. I've been hearing about this place for years and I've just never had the urge to get up and finally come try this place until recently. I honestly regret waiting until now to come here cuz this place is amazing!! I had the AC/BC chicken sandwich and when I took the first bite I really had to stop and think why I waited so long to finally come here. Bergenfield?! That's a town?! I've lived on and off in Bergen County for half my life and never heard of it before. But after reading that Rony's had the best burger in North Jersey I took the family on an epic journey (some 28 minutes!) to a new town to try a new place. We went in assuming it wouldn't be as bad as our last venture for burgers and shakes (Mooyah's in Lyndhurst) but they couldn't possibly compete with Shake Shack in Paramus. You walk in and if you're of a certain age it'll remind you of an old record store - posters, album covers, artwork and guitars were screwed into the walls and ceiling. Classic rock was cranking over the sound system. And the menu is loaded with items like "Green Day", "The Doors" and "The Who". With only one man on grill duty and one gal in front the wait for food was starting to verge on brutal. Eventually our food came out and I was bummed that the bacon on my "Bob Marley" was just crisp on the edges and white/raw everywhere else. The patty itself was really tasty though. The rest of the family liked their meals (the "AC/BC" had about 6 chicken cutlets in it which is insane - most of them came home with us) but we all agreed everything was messy to eat, the fries were oversalted and the shakes and floats were mighty delicious (and large). The official verdict: it was definitely better than Mooyah's but Shake Shack still reigns supreme. (I could definitely see Gordon Ramsey coming in to scream and shout a handful of ideas and suggestions and this place could easily get bumped up another star or two.) read more

Fresh squeezed lemonade takes just like the lemonade you would find on the boardwalk down the shore or at the carnival. Onion rings are very good but very filling! Best Burger (Cowboy) in Bergenfield. Staff are so pleasant and kind. After becoming hospitalized after a disgusting Bubble Tea and horrible Macaron\Cupcake from Zai's Dessertery, I had no reason to come from my town to Bergenfield.
