PROS: Staff was friendly, place is spacious, takes reservation for large parties, atmosphere was nice, food was good, prices were just right, food came out in timely matter CONS: Their parking lot is tiny and it's hard to find street parking. Also, there were many times the hostess wasn't at the front so people just stood around and waited OVERALL: I would definitely come back here in the future, as long as I can find a parking spot and a hostess to sit me read more

The food is good, but parking is exhausting & service is lacking. I've been there multiple times in the past few months and service is not good at all. It's not even the wait staffs fault. It's idiotic management. They have the waiters and waitresses working with no rhyme or reason. Instead of having assigned wait staff, one outdoors, one in the bar and one in the dining room, they have them all overlapping covering multiple tables and providing poor service for everyone. It took an hour and a half to have lunch today because the poor waitress had to work outside and inside. It hurts their tips and it's not even their fault cause they're doing their best. Management wake up and get things in order. read more

- Busy Friday dinner--parking was a challenge: the lot was full and street spots were scarce just before 6p; we waited about 20 minutes to be seated - Bar area is bustling, loud, and dimly lit, while the separate dining room is bright, calm, and quiet--a nice contrast - Dining room walls feature old framed photos, giving the space a cozy, rustic, antique vibe - Service was friendly, attentive, and prompt: our waitress checked in throughout the meal to make sure we had everything we needed - Food was average: plain pizza was fresh and hot, but the tomato sauce was lacking in flavor; Irish whiskey burger had plenty of toppings, but the patty was overcooked and dry; prime rib sandwich meat was not as tender or rich as expected, though the au jus added some flavor; clam chowder was thick and creamy, but could use more seasoning; peach crumb pie was disappointing--the crust and topping were heavy and hard, and the peaches tasted artificial - Overall, the service and ambiance were pleasant, but the food leaned toward bland read more

THE FOOD ---------------- = Irish Whiskey Burger - Had the makings of a delicious burger with the bacon and string onion rings inside, but was overcooked beyond medium. Unfortunately was dry, barely pink inside with none of those delicious juices oozing out. Wommmp. Fries were good though. + Prime Rib Sandwich - Prime rib strips were tender and good, but, once again, meats were overcooked. No pinkness at all on the meats. Au jus that came with the sammie was perrrrrfect. + Large Plain Pizza - Suppper thin, but a bit floppy. Came out piping "scorch the top of your mouth" hottt! Sauce on the pizza was tangy. Overall, solid. = Georgia's Peach Crumble Pie a' la Mode - Just OK. Pie was humongous, but the crust was a bit too rock solid. Ice cream was good, however not sure what flavor it was - possibly French Vanilla, but not exactly. THE SERVICE ------------------- + Waitress was friendly and quick with taking down our orders. + All of our food arrived super fast. THE SURROUNDINGS ------------------------------- = Dining room is located to the left of the main entrance and the main bar to the right. + Dining room has plenty of tables. + Multiple TVs located in the dining room. = Tight private parking lot with one way in and one way out. + There is angled street parking spots right in front of the restaurant. RANDOM OBSERVATIONS -------------------------------------- = Was crowded in the dining room and bar room on a Friday evening. Arrived at about 5:50 and waited for a table for about 20 minutes. = All of the doors at the entrance swing ... like hard, so be careful when walking through them. read more

4.5 Stars* Came here after playing basketball with a friend and he suggested this place since this place was the only few places open late in the area. It was a Wednesday night and it was pretty busy. Dined at the table in bar section. Started off with the premium bucket ($25) of Modelo. Bucket filled with ice. Very cold and refreshing. I will say that it was hard to decide what to get since everything sounded so good. Ended up getting the Prime Rib Sandwich ($19) which comes with fries. Sandwich was great, especially with the au jus and horseradish mayo. It's a big sandwich. The fries were seasoned nicely. Had a really good experience and I will be back to try the drunken chicken sandwich, pizza and wings. I highly recommend this place if you want great food while catching the game or catching up with friends. * Reasonably priced * TVs to watch the game at the bar * Parking in the back and street parking * Specials for dine in * Good service read more

GREAT food and large portions! Went with my family and everything was so delicious! My mom loved her huge burger that had perfectly cooked bacon and came with crispy sweet potato fries that were so good. My sister loved the chicken francese and I really enjoyed the chicken Marsala! Lovely amount of chicken and the mushrooms were so flavorful. The steamed broccoli and baked potato were perfect sides to dip into the sauce. Love that the entrees came with a salad starter. Yum! Docking one star as it was tough to get water and service from the wait staff though they were all very nice. read more

This is one of the best places in the county to sit down with the family and eat some great pizza. The restaurant room has a very friendly atmosphere. In fact, they were experimenting with a guy making balloon animals, and the kids LOVED it. The pizza features a thinner crust with a nice bite to it. There are so many choices of pizzas too. Add a decently sized but diverse tap list and you have a very happy dad. Man just writing the review made me want to go back. read more

We are here at least 3 to 4 times a month and it is worth the drive for us. The food is absolutely amazing. The service is great. The pizza is next level. It is out of this world. We also suggest the Mediterranean salad and the mussels ! If you definitely want to get in here, I suggest making a reservation earlier in the week for the weekend because it does get extremely busy. I will give you a heads up that it can be very loud, but the food is worth putting up with that for. read more

We love Grants. Their wings are the best around. We always get good service, our only complaint is it can be noisy and sometimes it's hard to get in, which stinks for us but is great for you! read more

Grant St. Cafe 25 Grant Ave. Dumont, NJ 07628 Dude Chicken Wings Prosciutto & Baratta Salad Sliced Filet Mignon Platter Jameson Irish Whiskey Burger Chicken Parmesan 14" Pepperoni Pizza Cookie Dough Cake Conveniently off Washington Ave. where President George Washington once actually passed is a pub with great meals and deals! Stop in anytime on Monday through Thursday for discounted entrees; each day is a different special. One of the specials offered on Wednesdays are different parmesan entrees. With a difficult decision to make, I chose chicken and was not disappointed. The marinara sauce with a touch of Parmesan cheese is the way to go! Thursdays are wings. The dude wings are smothered in sweet Thai chili sauce. There's a whole bunch of flavors to choose so make multiple trips if you want to try them all! Even if you miss any of the specials, you will still have a really great time. The prosciutto & Baratta salad eats like a meal. It can easily feed a couple. You can never get enough onions and gravy as you chow down on the sliced filet mignon platter. Underneath these delicious toppings are the thinly sliced steak and buttered toast. The best part of the Irish whiskey burger are the frizzed onions. This bad boy has several toppings so you'll get the best of many worlds! Have read the great reviews and finally checked it out! Would be 5 stars except for the poor service. Took a while to have our order taken even though it wasn't particularly busy. Am guessing our inattentive server forgot to get our food and and it sat for a while. When brought by a different server our food was luke warm. Nice selection of dishes, tasty food, generous portions, and reasonable prices. I look forward to going back and hopefully getting hot food! read more

Always a solid experience. Their wings and pizza are among the best in the area. Service is always on point and prices are very reasonable. Good selection of drinks and also fairly priced. The bar area can get a little crowded but that speaks to the quality of the place. Parking can be a little challenging especially in the summer when they have the outdoor seating area. read more

I work in Bergen county and my coworkers talk about this restaurant all the time. I had an errand to run up here today so I decided to go. It was 100% worth the hype it was given. The food was incredible and the service was great. It was super cute inside and had good vibes. I will definitely be going back ASAP!!! read more

This is a neighborhood hub with a steady traffic flow to the bar, patio, and in door restaurant. Menu seemed like a solid pub vibe. The good: It's not a pricey night out even with a couple rounds of beers added. The bad: We tried the Carolina wings and they brought out clearly burned wings. When we pointed it out to the waitress she acknowledged they were overdone. Why would she bring them out knowing that? No quality control. The sweet and spicy pepperoni pizza with buffalo cheese. No one finished one slice of this. We let them trash the rest. My group NEVER wastes food. Nothing about this pizza worked - not the sauce or the pepperonis or the crust or the cheese. The mediocre: Absolutely everything else. We were excited at the idea of a thin crust. It should be crispy right? Nah. We ordered 2 other pies: a mixed one with sausage, peppers, mushrooms, and onions. a plain cheese. The only thing crispy were the very edges of the crust. The sauce and cheese were just OK. Again - nothing stood out with the sauce or cheese or crust. One of my dining partners compared it to a pizza from Chuck E Cheese. The buffalo wings - bland and the meat inside was just a shade dry. The bucket of clams and mussels - completely unremarkable. The servers were friendly but not exceptional or anything. They didn't elevate the experience or diminish it. read more

Place is the most perfect balance between a restaurant and dive bar. The setting makes you feel like you can grab a brew with your buddies after work or come here with your family. If the GWB didn't cost $16 to get back into NYC I'd be here more often. One of the best pizzas I've had. I was staying over my cousins for the weekend and we literally came here 3 days straight...it was that good. I'm not a barstool guy because I'm not sure who made Portnoy the 'za police but he gave it an 8.2 for whatever that's worth. Some people may think it's too thin/crispy, but I personally think that's what makes it. read more

If you haven't been to Grant Street yet you definitely must go. If you do go make sure you make a reservation because the place gets busy. There are two sides one that has a bar and the other side that is a more casual dining room. The bar is always busy and the bartenders are very friendly. Check out their website, every day of the week they have a daily special. We recently just went on a Wednesday when they do the parms and pots and you're able to get a Parm dish for $14 and a salad is also included. It was delicious and there was so much left to take home. Another big hit is their pizza. My husband loves the pizza there. The TP eats is his favorite with the vodka sauce and pepperoni. read more

There was a decent amount of hype about this place from locals. "Whats your favorite pizza spot?" "Around here? Hmm.. Grant St is pretty good". OK. Its a bar. 2pm, mid week.. there are a decent amount of people sitting at the bar day drinking. Impressive. I was the only one getting food. Pizza, its thin. No crisp. Soggy. Did I mention its thin? Cheese layer is thin and not remarkable. Wish there was more, or at least the presence of that cheesy, gooey, saltiness. Sauce, was almost not present. No crispy bite of the crust. Disappointed. I got two pies. They were the same. Not great, not bad. Will I go back? No. Also, the pricing to eat in is cheap. Pricing to take out is literally about double. Yes, double. AND there is a SERVICE FEE that no one tells you about. I hate that on both fronts. For the up cost of taking out, you can find much much better. read more

Excellent pizza, wings and salad. Very good service despite being very busy. Highly recommend and will definitely be returning.

Being stranded in the middle of suburbia during the holidays, the prospects of spending a majority of my day answering the incessant inquiries from my parents and my extended family resembled my own ninth circle of hell. Grant Street Cafe was a welcome escape from all of that. Not only does the bar have a friendly family feel to it, the food is amazing. The Frizzys where delicious and the fries were well done. Drinks were generous and the bartenders and waitresses were friendly and attentive. Every time I was here people were ordering pizzas. Talking to some of the other patrons, it seemed like people all over the county came here for a pie. I definitely will be coming back to try it out. Definitely a place you must not miss if you are looking for an amazing vibe or great dining. read more

Advertised as one of the best thin crust pizzas in Bergen County, we were excited to give it a try. Upon entering, we were immediately met with a very cold room where everyone was wearing a coat, jacket or sweatshirt. When we told the older, blond waitress it was very cold, she said in a loud, annoyed voice "put on your coat. Wear something warm!" We ordered 2 glasses of wine, a salad and I a meatball & eggplant pizza and my wife a salad pizza. Indeed, the crust was the thinnest we've ever had but there was very little sauce, eggplant was dry and there were very little if at all any meatballs. My wife's was better. With all the competition, we will not go back. read more

Found out about the Grant Street Cafe through a certain pizza reviewer. Wish I knew about it sooner. There's a great neighborhood vibe to it. Completely packed on a Saturday night, glad we had a reservation. They had outdoor dining, a bar area, and a dining room. We went with friends of ours and while the place was full, we were still able to hear our conversation, always a plus for me. Our waitress (Stella) was very helpful and friendly throughout the meal. Since we hadn't been there before, she walked us through the menu. So many good choices, we ended up loading up on appetizers and pizzas and saving the entrees for a future visit. The mussels in white wine and garlic are fantastic! I've had overly chewy mussels elsewhere, I've had fishy mussels elsewhere, these were perfect in texture and flavor! We also loved the huge pretzel, delicious on it's own and with the dipping sauces. Fried pierogis off the specials menu were great as well, crisp exterior with smooth potato filling. The wings with Grant's Buffalo/BBQ sauce blend were excellent. Crispy and sizable with zesty sauce. The bar pies we went with deserve their own paragraph. We had a pie featuring vodka sauce and crispy pepperoni. That was our favorite, the texture, sauce and overall flavor are great. We also had the burrata margarita pie. They put a nice sized piece of burrata onto a nice bed of arugula and prosciutto. Also a delicious pie! Can't wait to return! We'll try it with our kids as well, lots of choices for everyone! read more

So many great things to say about this place - local people - great food 4 of us started with some appetizers-wings which were great -the dude sauce had a fantastic flavor and The filet tips were so good and wish i had ordered that for dinner. The cutlets in the Drunken chicken parm were perfectly sized and they didn't skimp on cheese or sauce , I went with the Christopher sandwich which is about what you would expect with grilled chic sandwich but it's on garlic bread which is a nice touch ! The rest of the table got pizza which is one and of the dishes they are known for so we couldn't pass it up ! The bartenders Adam and Joe were super friendly and the specialty drinks were delicious! The hottest place in Dumont. We're new to the neighborhood and thought most of the town was pretty dead. Little did we know...the entire town hangs out at Grant Street Cafe. It's a neighborhood bar with standard American bar food. I've eaten here a few times and I'm always pleasantly surprised by how good the food is. Beer selection is great as well, and they've got interesting deals each day. It's consistently busy so it can get difficult to be seated, but the manager here is always accommodating. We come to catch Knicks games, and they always make sure we have a good view of the game on the nearest TV. read more

Came for an early Sunday dinner and the dinning room was busy! We started off with the Cesar salad which was pretty average. The dressing wasn't very flavorful and the salad was lightly dressed. We split the drunk chicken sliders which was half price on Sundays. The sliders we actually much bigger than I expected and came on regular sized potato burger buns. Unfortunately, the chicken was dry and lacked flavor and there was hardly any vodka sauce on them. We also shared a small pie topped with pepperoni and roasted red peppers. Unfortunately, the pizza was the most disappointing thing we ordered. In my opinion a good pizza starts with a fresh tomato sauce and this has zero sauce and overall the pizza lacked flavor. As others have suggested for a thin crust pizza the crust is not crispy enough. read more

I came here for the first time and it did not disappoint! It's a great bar/ restaurant to hangout with family or friends. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. I really liked that they have nice seasonal options for both food and drinks. My friend and I came here specifically for the butterbeer and it did not disappoint! It tasted very similar to the one in Harry Potter world, except this is the alcoholic version. The nachos were great!! The chicken fingers I wasn't too fond of, but I'm sure they have other great options on their menu. read more
