The Killarney is exactly what you want in a mountainside ski bar. Live music, plenty of taps, "ski bum ambiance." Certainly would stop here again for a drink. However, I would not choose to send you here for the food. Don't avoid if you're hungry, the menu just made everything sound better than it ended up tasting. The Guinness stew was our table favorite. Great to have something warm after a day on the slopes. read more

We really enjoy this place. We like the beer, the wings, the Shepard's pie, and the beef stew are all very authentic. It's homey inside and the service has been decent. Do order the award winning sauce. It's sweet and spicy!! read more

We were travelling through the area and this restaurant was recommended. I had an awesome Rueben. One of the better ones I've had. Companion had Shepherds Pie. It was excellent. Served piping hot. A very large portion. Hard to finish it. Our waitress was personable. Great Food. Nice atmosphere. Reasonable Prices. Highly recommended. read more

Love to stop here for wings and beer. Really nice people. Will have to stop for a meal sometime everything looks good. Just usually on the run read more

I have been coming to eat, drink and hangout with friends for over 9 years. I have worked at the pub for 5 years. It's has great service, authentic Irish decor, the food is consistently cooked to perfection and best beers on tap. This place will always be a local hot spot. read more

Great local Irish Pub. Corned Beef Ruben and Clam Chowder were both excellent. Service was quick and attentive. Parking lot was full but don't be swayed they likely have space. read more

The restaurant is somewhat separated from the bar side which is nice if you want a simple and quiet meal. The location at the corner of the entrance road to Okemo is also nice. The meal: we had two servers approach is and try to start us, they didn't seem to communicate or delegate stations very well. Once it was solved we ordered our meals. I had the soup of the day (Long Trail Potato) which was very bland. I wouldn't order it again because it was thick and chunky, nothing like I expect from a good potato soup. My wife's chowder was average but not spectacular. The meals then came... My meatloaf was tasty but could of used more sauce/gravy. My wife enjoyed the burger and the fries were great. We ordered a second round of drinks and the beer came out was warm. I can't believe that a busy bar/pub has warm tap beer... It was a big let down. Also our server never returned after taking the order until we were done with our news. We actually had to ask the hostess to get another round when we wanted it. So in conclusion: Service: C Food: B Drinks: B Atmosphere: B+ read more

Well this was the first time for me and my fiance. And being a fire fighter myself the decor was awesome. The menu of Scotch and whiskey is large and fun to choose from. We sat at the bar for our lunch on a Sunday afternoon. Bartender was attentive and inviting. Definitely will be visiting this place again. Gave me a reason to visit Ludlow vt again. read more

Killarney - Burgers Near Me - Ludlow, Vermont

This is our go to spot up here! Great food, cool bar area, delicious drinks and good beer selection, quick service, huge menu! Highly recommend! read more

The service was outstanding. They were down a server but despite that our server was attentive and very kind. The food came out promptly and was what you would expect from a homey pub. The fish and chips was crispy and the Verbacon burger was well cooked. I am personally a big fan of coleslaw and this one didn't disappoint. The fries were crispy and seemed to be coated in a batter or flour-like substance giving it a crust, not personally my thing, but not bad at all. Overall, a great experience from a cute pub perfect for a quick bite apres ski. read more

Killarney - Burgers Near Me - Ludlow, Vermont

Great shepherds pie, fish and chips, meatloaf, fun lively bar environment pre covid. Skip the wings and burgers- other things are delicious there. read more

My friends and I arrived in Ludlow around 11pm which is when everything is dead except for the Pizza nightclub (no really) which had stopped serving pizza (boooo) and this place- which was serving pizza and playing music loudly!! Pizza Club #2! The downsides: The bartender took his sweet ol' time Upsides: Pizza til late (late is 11pm here btw) the place was pretty chill, the drinks were cheap ( decent beer selection too) and its definitely where the locals come to hang out, play darts, chit chat. Id say definitely visit this place or pizzaclub#1, if you're from out of town. read more

Came here the first night of our trip and thought food was decent. Next night food was sub par including pot roast. Pot roast said it came with maple syrup glaze - nothing but steamed carrots. And when does someone get charged for a sample of beer? Unheard of. Not like we didn't spend $200 for our group of 5. Not impressed and will not be back. Also the stew was flavorless and corned beef egg rolls had a smidgen of corned beef. One good thing was a positive waitress experience with Danielle . read more

We went back for lunch with a big party. Good service and good beer. Food was much better this time. I can now increase my rating to four star. read more

Waiter communicated through grunts and nods. I got the Verburger--a burger glazed with maple syrup, covered in melted cheddar, and topped with bacon. The wife had the chicken salad. My burger was cooked to a nice medium rare, juicy, and tasty. Unfortunate, the large bun surrounding it was a week old, and had the texture of an old saddle. Beef juices soaking into the bun helped with the texture, but the resulting bread soup was only slightly better than the saddle. The fries accompanying the burger were good--crispy and fresh. The chicken salad was decent, although my wife didn't understand the fried potato wedges that were mixed in. Beer selection was good, and the Magic Hat One Chair draft I had was smooth and tasty. When the waiter came by to see if we were ready for the check, I asked if he could box up the small mound of remaining fries. The waiter said: "Seriously?", gave me a sideways look and walked away. A few minutes later, he returned with the check, but no boxed fries. In response, I paid the $55 bill (which seemed high for a burger, salad, 2 beers, and a wine), and then left Caveman a $2 tip. My only regret is that it was $2 and not $1. Suffice to say, we won't be back. read more

Awful and dirty!!! Stopped in for lunch and ordered a BLT. Waited 45 minutes for our order which was burnt to a crisp and un-edible. While I waited the bartender was bringing beers to the kitchen. Maybe they should focus on their food versus getting tanked in the kitchen. read more

Stopped in on our way into town for lunch. We were seated right away and the staff was very friendly/attentive. Food was hearty and delicious. They had a great selection of micro brews. Looks like it would be a lot of fun at night. read more

Stopped here for lunch based on positive reviews. Have to say we weren't overly impressed. We ordered buffalo wings, which were very good and potato skins, which were simply okay. The prices however, are outrageous. Be prepared to bring you big wallet. The buffalo wings are 11.95 for 7 average size wings. The potato skins are also 11.95, which gets you 3 measly skins.... You do the math... That's 4.00 a skin! We also ordered a bacon cheeseburger for 15.95 - it was ordered medium rare and was delivered medium well. Cooking temperature aside, the burger was not much better than you would get at a fast food restaurant. Lastly, we ordered clam chowder....blah is the best adjective I can come up with to describe the chowder, I think they added twice the cream and forgot the clams and spices! Overall, our experience was not very positive. The bar looked like it would be a fun place to hang out and have a beer or two, but I would not recommend going there for lunch or dinner, unless you enjoy paying a lot for mediocre food. read more

Update 3/7/16: This edit is coming in late, but better late than never? I had a nice conversation with the owner of Killarney's after my review. I do want to thank them for their service that evening back in September. I will be going back this year to try these guys out again after the next Spartan Race next summer. Any owner who is actually willing to listen to some of the feedback they are given on Yelp (or in any forum) - well those are the people that really are customer focused. First and foremost we want to thank our server for serving us at 10pm - apparently the kitchen closes at 10. But we had just come in from the Beast Spartan race in Killington. Unfortunately, I don't think the kitchen staff was all that thrilled that they had to cook. I had gotten 'fried' chicken tenders - since it was easier for them to fry than to grill. He ordered a BLT. While we waited for our food and drank our beer, I counted 15 more racers come into the bar, all of which were turned away because they weren't serving food anymore. While I thought this was a bad move from a business perspective - that is not why i gave this place 2 stars. My chicken tenders were super well done. Which I don't mind so much, but was curious as to how they got so 'well done' in such a short period of time. He had requested mashed potatoes with his BLT - when served they were gritty and cold. He didn't eat them and they ultimately took them off the bill. We do appreciate our server, she was pleasant and did not make us feel like a burden, however she was the only one who was that welcoming. Even the drunk guy sitting out in the parking lot swaying and smiling made us feel more welcomed. read more

Great Bar,The BEST Fish and Chips anywhere and great pub fare food too !!

It's a great place at the heart of downtown. Right crowd and it is in walking distance with the base lodge. Must visit bar in Ludlow. Service is awesome, If you find otherwise just shout out "Tyler". They are open yearlong and parking is never a problem, most of time. read more

busy place on a saturday afternoon, sort of a divey irish pub (maybe they all are), with lots of familys here and a bug bar area, service was pleasant and food was very good, drunk clams were different and interesting. read more

Food is good. The waiter had the personality of a damp rock. Zero emotion. Zero responsiveness. Better waiter can be found at Taco Bell. This took place the day before Thanksgiving... It was a guy in his late 20's or early 30's. He never even came back to our table after we had our food. It wasn't until some other staff members saw us looking for him that they were able to check us out so we could leave. We had a table of 14 in the separate room immediately to the left and back when you walk in. The table was right in the middle of the room. We would have had more drinks had he come back a few times. read more

I heard the bell and I walked up to get my last drink and they said they would not serve me. Yeah m never coming back here again. This place is terrible and I wouldn't come back here even if you if you paid me.... this place was terrible for st Patrick's day read more

Not impressed. Disappointed. Was hoping for a nice pub but the atmosphere didn't feel friendly and welcoming. Waiter said the portions were large but the shepard's pie was very small for $15. read more

I have a urination association with this libation station. Had so much fun here the night before my friend's wedding, drinking cheap beer and whiskey/realVermontmaplesyrup shots. The fun resulted in the eventual soaking of the hotel mattress with my piss, most unfortunately for my other friend who shared the bed with me. read more

The bar and restaurant decor was perfect for an irish setting. We were seated quickly and greeted promptly. The drinks were good! The food was a different story. I got the Sheppard's pie. It was unseasoned and dry. Bland would be the best word to describe my meal and my wife's uneventful salad. But The service was great and the bar looked inviting for an after ski adventure. read more

This is a solid Irish Pub. There was some live music (Irish) which added to the atmosphere. If you want fancy it's 2 stars. If you compare it to other Pubs it's right up there. Go enjoy and think snow. read more

Oh man, we lived at this place one summer. The maple burger with the Singletons bacon is worth the trip itself, but the great drinks menu plus trivia night meant we camped out there almost every night (we may have worn out our welcome, but thanks for humoring us Killarney staff!). Great pub food, fun atmosphere- hope to be back soon! read more

If you are looking for solid comfort food served efficiently, this place is your spot. Came here around 6pm with an impatient preschooler who was exhausted from a day of skiing. Service was impeccable. The server approached our table with waters within 2 minutes and quickly got my daughter a coloring book. Beers arrived not too long after. The food was solid food you could expect from an Irish pub - we had fish and chips, a rueben, calamari, and a kids pasta. The food came quickly, and the server knew to bring extra napkins. The interior has a cozy Irish pub type atmosphere. read more

Overall a good atmosphere and good charm. We got the wings because they had won competitions but they really were your standard buffalo wings. The other food was generally mediocre but the French fries and maple apple butternut bisque were good. The main issue was the exceptionally slow service. An example: waited forever for all stages of the ordering process but the most egregious was taking my credit card and then going to the table next to us to take an order. Normally this would not be an issue but we had our 18 month old ready to melt down because this lunch took just under an HOUR AND FORTY FIVE MINUTES! The restaurant was not packed and there is no excuse. Verdict: great for drinks and apps but the food and sit down service were lackluster. read more

Ok so after the owner/manager responded to our review we returned a few nights ago. We decided to go with the first things we'd had here, the "Verberger"- a burger with Vermont maple syrup and maple bacon- and my husband got a Reuben. Both were delicious. My husband says theirs is one of the best Reubens he's ever had. I also tried the clam chowder again-someone got the message and it was hot and delicious! My husband tried the mussels and clams appetizer and said it was quite good. My burger was a bit over cooked but still very good. Service was prompt and attentive as well. I would increase my stars to 4 and we will likely return-though will stick with what I think are their strengths: sandwiches, burgers, beer. It's a fun place and I thank you. read more

Decent pub food but nothing to write home about. Good beer and cider selection though! Our meals weren't bad but they weren't great. We would go back if we had to but probably wouldn't pick it over some of the others in town. read more

Food is great... buffalo wings are huge and spiced just right. Corn beef is tender and the shepherds pie is to die for.

Nice little Irish pub with good food and drinks. Love the variety of Irish coffee and hot chocolate drinks. Irish dominated menu so you better like bangers and mash! :) read more

Best Pint of Guinness in VT! Love this place. Food is great and the staff is super friendly.

With its location right at the bottom of the access road to Okemo Mountain, this did not need to be a good place. Yet, it is. The food is quite good -- the shepherd's pie, with a demiglaze in the meat, is to die for. There is an interesting take on a bacon cheeseburger with maple flavoring. And, of course, lots of beer on tap and an impressive collection of police patches behind the bar. read more

This was my first time at Killarney's, and I was with my friend who comes here a lot. It was 8 pm and they were busy, but we were seated right away with no issues! We had the buffalo wings as an appetizer, which did not disappoint! They were crispy on the outside, but the chicken was cooked to perfection. I liked that they gave us the option of bleu cheese or ranch with them. The beer selection is amazing, as they have both local and imported/American beers, and the 20oz pints are a bargain! The menu has a little bit of everything. We both had burgers for dinner. Both were cooked to perfection, and the fries were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. This was one of the best burgers I have ever had in my life! I can't wait for my next dining experience at Killarney's! read more
