Corned beef bao's and Guiness!

This is my local pub so I'm a bit partial. The foods great. Solid Irish fare with fish and chips and guiness stew and all that. I really like the fusion stuff. Corned beef ramen was amazing. Bao's amazing. Ask for the Peruvian menu as well. Lots of surprises here. Irish music on Fridays and Comedy once a month. Lovely place!

Kid or senior portion of fish & chips (minus a couple of bites)

Maybe 3.5... The place has a very nice interior, with tin ceiling, what appeared to be original radiators, and appropriate decorations. We had small portions of fish and chips and the Guinness stew. First, the bad news: although the fish was fresh and well cooked, it was clear that they need an oil change in the fryer. Sad, really, but I marked hard on this one. If you want to be an Irish pub, you HAVE to have a solid fish and chips, no mistakes allowed on a flagship dish that many people are going to order. The chips were either cooked in a different fryer or ... something. They were uniquely cut and very tasty, not overly seasoned and very well made. The stew was hearty, hot, and full of good meat. There was almost a wine-like undertone and the texture was fine. Served with big dollop of mashed potatoes, I really enjoyed the dish. To be frank, I was afraid from the initial appearance that it had been 'artificially' thickened, but this was not the case; it was simply a good, thick and hearty stew. Both dishes were plenty for us. I would have needed a takeaway container for each if we had gotten the full size in serving. Sticky toffee dessert was great. Again, a generous portion, best shared. Overall, - give it a try - come hungry - do have dessert ... and let me know what you think.

Harp beer batter fish and chips

Industry worker here so I know accurate reviews are everything. This place was a nice suprise. Off day at my kitchen so naturally I found myself looking for an irish pub and found Waterhorse just in time for first call. I'm picky as hell with Guinness and they had a perfect pour, 10/10. I'm not a big fan of huge menus, but at the same time everything sounded awesome. I enjoyed the idea of a sampler for indecisive people like myself. Plenty of options all sounded tasty and I enjoyed reading through it all. We went with the fried Pickles. Highly suggest snacking on those. The horseradish aioli was perfect. I had to try their fish and chips, the scooped chips were perfectly seasoned and hearty. Fish was light and crispy, normally I go for a thick crispy beer batter but their lighter recipe was really good. Wasn't huge on the coleslaw, and the tartar was alright but I'm biased when it comes to my own stuff. It was perfectly fine and honestly I didn't realt need either side or sauce cuz that fish was perfect. My partner got the smash burger and fries. Also awesome. Can't go wrong with secret sauce and a smash patty. I particularly enjoyed the little details this place had too. The painting above the bar and general esthetic was just the type of vibe I love sitting in. The burger bun stamp was a nice touch. Our bartender was fast and friendly. I'd love to go back on a busy night to see how things go but seems like a really awesome place to have around town. Next time I pass through we will for sure be back. From one chef to another; great job yall. snagged some stickers and will be telling people to go check out Waterhorse if they are in the area. Much love from Coopershill crew Sláinte!!

A dear friend just bought a condo near Newfound Lake and needed to attend the HOA meeting, so we decided to join with them afterwards and they searched the food offerings and came up with Kathleen's Irish Pub. Arriving at the place we noticed a sizable parking area although I am sure it's on overflow at St. Patty's Day. For a first timer, the premises used to be a hardware store so there are several doors and although the one that seems to be the main door, is not. The entrance is towards the front and there is a ramp to the main door Entering the Pub, there is an ample bar area and the food area is towards the left, facing Main Street. We were warmly greeted by a wonderful hostess whose demeanor and customer care was the best I've seen in a long time. We began the afternoon festivities with, of course, Guinness, certainly slow poured, which is good for you. My other half had their Harviestoun Old Engine Oil, creamy and tasty. The next course we had was their Giant Pretzel. Really giant. Baby Huey giant. It served as the appetizer for four of us. We got it with both, homemade beer cheese dipping sauce and the Irish Whiskey Dipping sauce. Both sauces are delicious, really so. Then they brought out the main courses; I had their delicious fish and chips. Perhaps one of the best, tastiest, crispy pieces of fish I've ever had. My spouse ordered the Galway Girl, a true half pound prime Black Angus burger topped by Swiss cheese and fried cheddar curds, poblano dressing and chips. The mix of the fried curds and meat and sauce was amazingly tasty. Another friend had the Boxty, basically a potato pancake filled with a delicious chicken stew. The quality of the food was amazing. Really so. But that wasn't enough, we ordered both, their Bread Pudding, and their Sticky Toffee Pudding. The Bread Pudding was amazing, but the Sticky Pudding was unequaled. I am glad we shared the dessert among four people... At the end of the lunch, the owner came in and engaged us in conversation. Affable, full of energy, friendly, and she knows the path of excellence where she's taking the place. We learned a second pub is planned for Franklin. If it is anywhere near the quality of Kathleen's, Franklin will have one superb eatery. Absolutely recommended.

We've been to Kathleen's a number of times over the last couple of years, including this evening…read more There were a couple of occasions that, similar to other reviews, where things did not go well. But overall and current experience has been excellent. There is a mix of authentic Irish dishes and some Irish-ish fare. The Shepherds Pie and Fish and Chips are consistently excellent. Bangers and Mash is also, very good. Salads are fresh and appetizers good, though most are on the heavy side. Good selection, of beer and a number of memorable irish whiskies are available. Service is usually very good, especially when the owners are present. Everyone is friendly. We'll be back again. Very soon.

The service and food were fantastic. I had an Irish coffee with Bailey's and it was so good I had to have another. For my meal, I did the Irish sampler; 3 bowls consisting of Shepard's pie, beef stew, and pot pie. All were amazing but my favorites were the beef stew then the Shepard's pie. Overall, a great spot for some Irish food and can't wait to go back!

We booked the "red room" for a party of 10 patrons which we scheduled far in advance. The people that were in the room before us ran over on their time, so we had to wait about 18 minutes after our reservation. The room is pretty cramped due to the length of the table, but it was cute and cozy. The max amount of people is 12 in this room. I had the taste of Ireland, which gives you three dishes in sample size: shepherds pie, beef stew & chicken pot pie. For $19.00 (kind of steep) it was okay. You can tell that there's a lot of pride, and it has a "just like mama used to make" method of cooking. Seems like they take a lot of pride in all of their dishes. It seems that everybody truly enjoyed their dishes, even the ones that had salad. Again, it was really nice that we were able to have our very own room. I would certainly come back and have the corned beef and cabbage meal; that's what my mother had and she said it was great. The only negative thing I would say is that our waitress seemed like she was a bit annoyed, having to wait on a large group and we needed to split our checks. Other than that I felt that our service was sufficient.
