I was charged with finding a place to meet my parents for lunch this afternoon, came across the flannel tavern and decided to give it a shot. What a great decision that turned out to be! They absolutely knocked it out of the park. The environment, the food, and the service were all great. The bartender, I believe her name was Nicole, was friendly, helpful, and attentive without being overbearing. There was good live music but it wasn't so loud you couldn't have a conversation. I had the bringing the heat chicken sandwich and it was dynamite. My parents had the fish and chips and the fish sandwich, they were both very happy with their meals. I've been back to the Flannel Tavern about 3x & I still find it to be 'good'/ 4 stars. They don't have many staff members. It seems like it's always the same young lady serving all of the tables. My husband goes here for lunch with coworkers from MSA Globe pretty often & they get busy during the week. The Flannel Burger is his fave & it's definitely a crowd pleaser. I have yet to have a bad meal, but nothing overly exceptional as of yet. It's a cute place to go & comfortable. It's a very casual spot. Lunch with one of my favorites yesterday was delightful!! Great time to catch up at the Flannel Tavern in Chichester!! The apple cider sangria is highly recommended delicious!!! Got the garlic chicken nachos and my friend had the tenders and I got a seafood trio - not a bad meal at all! Great little spot if you don't know it's there, you'd miss it! Arrived around 6/6:15 on a Friday night - no wait, it was quite busy. Overall spent 90 mins here - between 4 ppl we spent just under $100 pre tip. The food we did order was tasty and good portions. Drinks when we had them were good. But service was def not great. Our waitress was Mary - she was Egh just fine but as someone who drinks a lot of water my glass was empty a lot of the time!!!! I just felt like we were constantly waiting for her to come around- which stinks because we would have ordered more Food and drinks had she been more present. The service just wasn't great. One of my coworkers recommended I check out this place so I decided to take a quick peek on the menu and since I love chicken tenders and I've heard good things about them here I decided to give it a try. I loved that I got a lot of chicken tenders in the appetizer plate. I was given two sauces one I believe was honey garlic and I forgot the other. I loved the honey garlic, definitely give that one a try. The staff was super friendly in person and on the phone. They had plenty of parking space, and the environment was very cozy and inviting. Came here on a dead Friday afternoon. Waiter acted like we were an inconvenience. Food was good he was not

I love a good creamy pasta, and their Creamarosa Pasta bowl hits the spot! It doesn't come with a protein, so I added grilled chicken and that made it just perfect. The huge bowl was nearly overflowing with angel hair pasta, a generous portion of chicken, tomatoes, broccoli, smothered in a beautiful creamy pink sauce and topped with parmesan cheese. The side of garlic bread could have used a little more toastiness but it was otherwise perfect for mopping up that extra sauce. The dish also comes with a side salad starter which was a nice touch. Now that I know the Flannel Tavern is there, I'll have to stop more frequently on my trips to and from Wolfeboro! read more

What's going on with this place? Tables are not washed down. Seems each time we go in there we see new waitstaff. Food does not seem to be cooked as well as it use to be. Husband got steak tips and we're not cooked right, no seasoning and we're cold. Butter did not even melt on potato, just one big cold blob. Other couple said quesadilla was not up to par as it's been in the past and was also cold. They really do not like cold food delivered. I had chicken fingers and that's always been a safe order, they are great. We do like that you have speciality drinks and food menu. This is our go to place with a bunch of people but lately been hit or miss and thinking we need to find another go to place. There are times music is so loud you can't even visit. read more

We live in the area and were loyal customers of the previous owners, George and Heidi Parker. So we were eager to try this new place. We didn't really know what to expect but the full parking lot on a Tuesday evening seemed like a good omen. Let's say we were not disappointed The place was nearly full but we were seated almost immediately and brought water and menus by a very welcoming and pleasant young lady named Melanie. She came back a few minutes later to take our orders. My SO ordered the lasagna roll with potato soup instead of salad. I ordered the fish & chips with mashed potato and a side of onion rings. To be honest, the food did take a little while to come out (but as I said, they were busy so it was understandable.) But once it arrived everything was fresh, hot and delicious! The mashed potato in particular was amazing. Very good onion rings as well. Atmosphere might best be described as slightly loud, but in a happy, jovial sort of way. I was concerned that it might give off sort of a dank, sleazy "dive bar" vibe but no... not at all! Most of the clientelle appeared to be locals having a good time. We found the prices to be quite reasonable as well (at least by today's standards.) The entire place - including rest rooms - were spotlessly clean and in good repair. One suggestion... could you please provide some chairs (or other seating) near the entrance for old folks like me with bad knees when there is a wait? Our only regret is taking so long to try The Flannel Tavern. But now that we have, it is quickly becoming a favorite! read more

MISLEADING NAME! ITS NOT A TAVERN AND DO NOT REFER TO IT AS A BAR...ITS A FAMILY FRIENDLY RESTAURANT WITH NO KIDS MENU!!!! I recently had an interaction with the staff of Flannel Tavern, and I must say that I am extremely disappointed. Firstly, I want to address the misleading name of this establishment. Flannel Tavern is not a tavern, as the name suggests, but rather a family-friendly restaurant. It is important to clarify this because an employee became aggressive when I referred to it as a bar. I have not visited Flannel Tavern in over a year and a half, nor have I ordered from their confusing website recently. However, my review is based on my past experiences and interactions with the staff online. One of the main reasons why I stopped frequenting Flannel Tavern is their inconvenient hours. It is nearly impossible for me to visit on a weeknight without feeling rushed and having less than an hour to relax and enjoy my food and drinks. Despite this, I still acknowledge the quality of their food whenever I see a post and feel inclined to comment. Over the past year, I have noticed several attempts by Flannel Tavern to attract customers, including hosting a trivia night. While I appreciate their efforts, the hours they have chosen for these events are not convenient for me or my large group of friends. Recently, I saw a post from Flannel Tavern asking if their establishment was any good. I decided to comment and mentioned that while the food is good, the hours are horrible. To my surprise, I received a private message from an employee, possibly the manager, asking for my opinion on their hours and what I believed would be more suitable. I responded by stating my opinion that no establishment serving food or drinks should close prior to 10pm on a weekday and 12am on a weekend. Instead of receiving a thoughtful response, I received a voice message from the employee, who seemed quite displeased with my suggestion. She argued that Flannel Tavern is not a bar, but rather a "family-friendly" establishment. I find this confusing, as the word "tavern" is commonly associated with bars or pubs. I even asked her what the long thing with stools is if it's not a bar. tav·ern /tavrn/ noun an establishment for the sale of beer and other drinks to be consumed on the premises, sometimes also serving food; a bar or pub. Additionally, in my response to the employee, I questioned what she meant by "family-friendly." When I hear that term, I typically associate it with establishments that provide crayons and coloring pages for children, have a playground area, and offer a dedicated kids' menu. However, it seems that Flannel Tavern does not provide these family-friendly features. In her next voice message, she insulted me for answering her question and offered no solutions or willingness to address the issue. She claimed that they cannot serve alcohol without serving food, which I understand. However, I suggested that they could have a limited menu available from 8-10pm or offer happy hour specials or deals on appetizers to attract customers during those hours. Which would permit them to serve alcohol and be open later. Furthermore, the employee mentioned that they struggle to find staff. Well, it's no surprise when the establishment is barely open for just over 40 hours a week. There is no real opportunity for the staff to make a decent income. Unfortunately, this lack of problem-solving and ambition seems to be a common trend in this region of New Hampshire. Instead of putting in effort and finding solutions, establishments often settle for the bare minimum and expect praise for it. As a result, I will continue to pass by "Flannel Family Fun Center" and patronize other establishments in Manchester or Concord that stay open later and cater to a wider audience. In conclusion, Flannel Tavern's false advertising and lack of effort to address customer concerns regarding their inconvenient hours have left me with no choice but to take my business elsewhere. read more

Honestly should have turned around and walked out when there were several empty tables Who we thought was the bartender or helper of some sort, had us standing in the corridor waiting for 5 minutes while he "found" a table. We expected it to be busy, but there only seemed to be one waitress for the entire place, who was about as clueless as they come, and three people wandering around looking for dirty dishes and not capable of filing waters or anything else. I lost count of the number of times I had to place my order (chicken fingers with sweet and sour sauce) for her to get it. Let's just say it went down from there. Then we got the bill...upcharged $2 for onion rings (that they didn't even have) and $18 for one of their "special" drinks in a small mason jar that didn't have a price on the menu, but the scorpion bowl equivalent was $14. We went hiking to Mt Major and found this hidden restaurant. The waitress recommended the Fried Chicken Ranch sandwich and I asked for no bacon. What made this sandwich incredible was the breaded mozzarella with the chicken and ranch. The fries were crispy and the blueberry lemonade drink fresh and not too sweet. Overall the three of us were very impressed with the taste and quality of our food . The decorations are modern/simple and bathroom is extremely clean. So totally recommend if you're looking for American/comfort fare. I also suggest to try the daily specials! read more

Yesterday was are first trip to the Flannel Tavern. We were very impressed with the service considering there was only one waitress. She was taking care of people at the bar and tables filled with 2-6 people. She definitely deserves a raise. The food was delicious including the chicken tenders, reuben sandwich, steak sandwich, and haddock sandwich. We have already talked to other people about trying it. New to the area and there aren't many restaurants to choose from but this is by far a hidden gem. Looks small from the outside but we were pleasantly surprised how many tables were in this cozy establishment. Plenty of readily available hand sanitizer and the bathroom was super clean. Yes, this is a major thumbs up when I go out to eat especially during COVID. We ordered lunch. I had the Steele Toe burger and my partner had the Cobra Kai burger, both were cooked to perfection which was a big plus with us when it comes to ordering meat. Mine was medium and his was medium rare. Most burger joints never get this right but the chef came through. I made sure to tell our nice and attentive waitress to let the chef know our dishes were amazingly delicious and cooked to perfection. Along with our burgers I had the fresh (not frozen) hand battered onion rings and he had the fresh hand cut fries which were also excellent. The Flannel Tavern is definitely not short of the many tasty mixed drink concoctions they offer. There's also a nice variety of beers on tap or bottled. We opted for our favorite seasonal beer Shipyard Pumpkinhead with the classic sugar/cinnamon rimmed glass which complemented our meal very well. So if you're passing through Chichester on Rte28 in NH for a drive I recommend this is a tavern worth stopping for. The service, food and drink will not disappoint you. read more

With such limited options in Chichester I was so excited to see a new restaurant open up only minutes from my house. And I wanted to love it...so badly. To say I am disappointed is an understatement. We ordered a large variety of options from their small menu. I like to do this to get a feel for what's good and what's not so great. We ordered the Macdaddy Mac and cheese, one with pulled pork and one with fried chicken. For an extra $3 each to add the meat we were not happy with the tiny dollop of meat on each order. Half of my noodles were not even coated in the "cheese sauce" which was clumpy with a raw flour flavorless taste. The pork was fatty and inedible. We also ordered chicken tenders that were small, fry and flavorless, along with fried chicken wings and Cajun chicken nachos. Overall for every single item everyone said the same thing...boring and flavorless. Also, we weren't given the side salads that were supposed to come with the Mac and cheese. I am so sad to have to write this review. But I spent $77 on this one meal and wasn't impressed with any of it, except the garlic bread...which tasted exactly like Texas toast from the grocery store. read more

We stopped in after my son's soccer game. It was the perfect location to meet up with some other family and we were pleasantly surprised! The restaurant was SO clean all the way from the front of the shop to the bathrooms! Decor was super cute, employees/servers were incredibly nice! Ever watch Diners, Drive Ins and Dives on Food Network and say, "I wish we had a place like that around here!"? This is that place! Everything about The Flannel Tavern is exceptional. The waitstaff are warm and welcoming, funny and friendly. I have never been to a place where the waitress remembers you after one visit, but Jess did just that, remembering my wife's preferences, my friends', and mine. The food is amazing! I've now been 6 times, each time trying something new, and every time being blown away by how awesome it is! I can't recommend this establishment highly enough.
