My Chicken Caprese sandwich and my husband's Club sandwich were excellent, but the dumpling appetizer just stole the show for me. My mouth waters writing this and remembering! We sat outside on the patio on a beautiful spring Sunday, listening to the nearby fountain and the happy sounds of families celebrating together. What truly elevated the experience from excellent to exceptional was the service. Checked Yelp and distances (just finished 6 hours on bike) and wanted something close. This tavern had good ratings, so winner, winner... It was a locals bar, everyone was super nice and friendly. Many general conversations and local news. Ordered a Ruben sandwich which was very good along with their crispy homemade chips. If in the area, this is a great place to try.

We had to get out of dodge and enjoy some relaxation by the lake. When we showed up everywhere we drove by the spots we normally frequented and everywhere was closed, sometime near 8 pm. We did a search and found that here was open and headed over as fast as we could to try to get something to eat. Unfortunately the grill just closed, and we resigned ourselves to a liquid dinner. The chef then pokes his head out and offers to make a pretzel for us, and we could not have been happier. It was a big one too. The staff was just so welcoming and seemingly very happy that we were there... which is not always the case in the general area... that Burnt Timber became one of our usual spots instantly. There was no clearly marked ADA-accessible entrance or any obvious way for a wheelchair user to safely access the inside of the restaurant. We considered sitting outside, but the awning poles blocked the walkway to the point that we could not comfortably or safely navigate the area with a wheelchair. Even if we had managed to sit outside, we had no accessible way to get inside if the wheelchair user in our party needed to use the restroom. What was perhaps most disappointing was that not one person offered us any guidance, alternative entrance, assistance or possible solution. We were simply left trying to figure it out ourselves. Accessibility is about more than just getting through a door. A person using a wheelchair should be able to enter, dine with their family and friends, and access a restroom with dignity. Sadly, we weren't able to do that here and had no choice but to leave. I sincerely hope Burnt Timber takes a serious look at its accessibility and staff awareness so another family doesn't have the same experience.

It was mostly local regulars, but all were very friendly and talked about local activities. The pub had all the regular beers, nice and cold. The food was actually pretty good bar food, had their pub shaved steak sandwich. It was different but good and the fries crispy. I sat at the bar and the service was very good and bartender friendly. Definitely worth the stop.
